1121  Other / Meta / Re: [TOP-200] The most generous users giving merits on: October 09, 2019, 12:28:41 AM
I have updated all my posts and the chart on the first page of this thread.

There are already 3 merit sources whose "Generosity" index exceeds 10000 merits. Impressive! Cool

I also published monthly statistics for September 2019. suchmoon is the undoubted leader of this TOP-200 in the previous month.

Owasome this is the best topic for the new members.i wish this is Usefull and Helpfull for me and others new hounty hunter to increase account Rank. Thanks Guys

yesh for sore, this cold help yu get more marits.

Joke aside, you won't get any merits with a post like this. Improve it, buddy.

LOL Cheesy
I've looked at the latest posts made by Hunterqr, and it seems that this user made many gross spelling mistakes intentionally.

Both of you forget the list is sorted based on "Generosity" formula (see 1st posts to see the formula), not sent merits.
If you look at the list, there are few members who send few merits but at top of list.

You're correct. This question has been answered many times in this thread.

Today I see an exchange available on the Korean market https://www.probit.kr/app/exchange/CUR-KRW
5000 CUR has been distributed to bounty participants and there will be a subsequent distribution next week

Indeed, it was the first distribution of CUR tokens among the participants of the signature company. The price of the token on the exchange fell 3 times. We are waiting for another 4 distribution among  participants of bounty. I had hopes for the team, but given that there is no market maker on probit.kr, I'm afraid to assume what price we will see.

This dump looks not good. According to the chart displayed on the Probit exchange, the lowest price of the CUR token was 450 KRW. Obviously, some bounty hunters are currently selling their earned tokens at any price in order to cash out Korean money, then to buy Bitcoin and withdraw coins from this cryptocurrency exchange. It is strange why investors or traders who completed KYC do not support the CUR market which crashed below the IEO price.
1125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: REQUEST FOR GAS FEE TO GET PAID ARE SCAM. on: October 07, 2019, 11:50:57 PM
I totally agree that the teams which request for gas fee from bounty hunters are scammers. I remember one fraudulent project that was advertised on Bitcointalk a year ago. The scammers who have run their bounty campaign promised huge rewards and after the ICO they asked participants to send some ETH coins to be paid. In the end, this scam project has stolen about 600 ETH from investors and then disappeared. If a team cannot bear the cost of sending tokens, they have no money at all. In any case, they will not pay with valuable tokens traded on cryptocurrency exchanges. I advice you not to send any ETH coins to such fraudsters.
1126  Local / Русский (Russian) / Re: Важность собственного списка доверия on: October 07, 2019, 10:08:36 PM

Huh

Cool

Cool

1128  Other / Meta / Re: [LOG] The ranked up members - Congratulations! on: October 07, 2019, 09:09:47 PM
Recurrent update.

To be honest, this week not many users have received enough merits to rank up to higher levels.

gentlemand earned 1000 merits and now has more than 2000 merits! Brilliant! Cool

johhnyUA who is active in the Russian local board has become Legendary.

JanEmil is a new Senior Member.

Cheers! Cool

1130  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are mixers illegal? on: October 03, 2019, 04:16:30 AM
I would love to have a general conversation around mixers and if they are legal. I've heard both sides. Would be great to have someone involved in the legal side of things like Ciphertrace or a regulator to shed light on this topic

In general, Bitcoin mixers are not illegal, but agencies in different countries always track Bitcoin transactions and investigate such services to prevent money laundering and other types of criminal business. For example, on May 22, 2019, Dutch police has seized the "BestMixer.io" tumbler which may have provided a high level security for every Bitcoin transaction. As far as I remember, the authorities claimed that Europol has analyzed the databases from 6 confiscated servers and collected information regarding transactions between customers of this service. Therefore, every user who wants to mix bitcoins should choose a reliable Bitcoin mixer.

I guess that Bitcoin transaction fees increased sharply in May 2019 because "BestMixer.io" has been shut down. Perhaps people massively sent their BTC coins to another Bitcoin mixers in order to keep their privacy.
1131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Browser extensions can steal bitcoin on: October 03, 2019, 01:53:38 AM
It should be noted that the Metamask extension for the Firefox/Chrome browser is necessary to the secure trading of ERC20 tokens on decentralized exchanges such as Etherdelta/Forkdelta/IDEX. Other similar sites and services which work with Ethereum smart contracts also require this plugin. Therefore, the Metamask extension is very useful and should be downloaded from the official website and verified via the file checksum.

Personally I do not trust most browser plugins that were created by fraudsters to steal coins from naive people. Undoubtedly, browser extension must be open source in order to any user can inspect and build the software using a local compiler.

Grin

HODLer.  Grin

Undecided
1134  Other / Meta / Re: [LOG] sMerit HODLers who sent merits for the first time on: October 02, 2019, 10:26:24 PM
Since another 136 users, who were Full Members and above on January 24, 2019, decided to use the merit system and sent sMerits for the first time, I updated the three tables and chart on the first page.

There are already too many users in the logs, so I published the forth part in an external post.

According to the chart, it seems that some members still do HODL their airdropped sMerits.
1135  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Do all elliptic curves support recovering the public key from a signature? on: October 01, 2019, 10:51:31 AM
If you actually cared about size you'd drop the hash entirely-- the result is much smaller still.

As far as I know, the standard P2PKH transaction has an input ScriptSig that contains 107 bytes:
1) OP_PUSH (1 byte)
2) <sig> (72 bytes)
3) OP_PUSH (1 byte)
4) <compressedPubKey> (33 bytes)

If <recoveryFlag> (1 byte) is used instead of <compressedPubKey>, the ScriptSig will contain only 75 bytes, so the size of the input script will be reduced by about 30%. If a transaction has many inputs, the total result will be significant.

Recovery is pretty slow, unbatchable (which means another 2x slowdown),

As Coding Enthusiast said:
it doesn't matter if it takes 1 milisecond or 10!

In any case, OP_RECOVER-PUBKEY-FROM-SIG can be optional and will not greatly affect node performance.

and has a complicated patent situation.

If the public key recovery function from an ECDSA signature is covered by a patent, this is a problem. I am surprised why didn't the patent owners restrict services such as Brainwalletx which sign Bitcoin messages using the recovery flag.
1136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Different stable coins on: September 30, 2019, 10:39:12 PM
Whts the difference usdc,  usdt,  pax?  And other stable coins as they claim to be pegged 1:1 usd

These stable coins are backed by various companies/organizations. If you look at CoinMarketCap, you will see the capitalization of all the top cryptocurrencies, including stable coins USDT, TUSD, USDC, PAX, USDAP, GUSD, etc. Tether is currently rated 4th in this TOP-100 and probably can provide liquidity worth 4.1 billion dollars (!). In addition, Tether (USDT) runs on the Bitcoin blockchain, TrueUSD (TUSD) runs on the Ethereum blockchain, and so on.

So wich one i should prefer and Why?  How to Know wich stable coins are better?

For example, a few years ago the NuBits coin was unable to maintain its pegging, another similar Basis project has also been closed due to new imposed regulations. In my opinion, cryptocurrencies with a large capitalization look more reliable, so they are likely not to fail or be abandoned in the near future. Most traders use USDT, and this is a good choice.
1137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do we get the best at this moment? on: September 29, 2019, 12:35:12 AM

Here is my analysis on the current scenario. I am not an expert but I can say the market emotion as of now is pretty bullish.  See the 4h chart. We have a set of lower low on the candlestick chart but we see a bullish divergence according to RSI which has shown a higher low in the over sold zone. This show market is gaining strength despite of price being lowered. Then is a simple MACD crossover on the 4 hour chart and that also on the negative side of the MACD. Histogram is going down and down. We also have found some support around these 7700-7800 levels as price was traded here a bit earlier. So all on all this is a bullish setup atleast on a 4h chart so we can expect a good next week coming up. However daily still doesn't shows any major sign of bullishness.

So To get the best out of this moment buy some BTC and hold for a week with a stop loss below 7600. We might have a ride to 9k again.

It sounds good, but I'm not sure that Bitcoin will rise to $9000 in the nearest future. As far as I understand your conclusions based on technical analysis, the relative strength indicator is currently saying that the market is oversold, but on the contrary, the trend following momentum indicator is showing that the market is bearish. I think that these statistics are correct, because Bitcoin dropped just a few days ago. Thus, these indicators will not contradict each other in several days. Anyways, traders like the cryptocurrency exchange market that has high volatility.
1138  Economy / Reputation / Re: Negative feedbacks and limitation period of accounts tradings on: September 29, 2019, 12:24:46 AM
In my opinion, DT members should agree among themselves on this matter to prevent controversial situations.

I think such controversial situations are inevitable. In fact, most people do not approve of account sales because as a rule, the forum profile should reflect the relevant experience, knowledge and reputation of a user. Some DT members have their own opinions on limitation period and are likely to stand up for the principles they adhere to.

I have a very negative attitude towards selling and buying accounts. In my opinion, all account sellers should be painted regardless of how long the account has been hibernated.  There is a possibility that any dormant account can be sold at any time.

As far as I understand, Veleor is saying about accounts which have been sold or bought in 2015 or earlier, and not about dormant account that can be sold in present days.

I also believe that in some cases negative feedback should be left to users who are interested in buying accounts and are asked to write prices in PM.

I agree with you. Users who publicly try to sell or buy accounts should be red tagged.
1139  Economy / Economics / Re: Are Initial Offerings Overpriced? on: September 28, 2019, 08:26:15 PM
For example, look at the altcoins listed on CoinMarketCap. Pay attention to the coin statistics below the price chart. There is an important ROI index that represents the approximate return on investment if it was bought at launch. Some of the top-rated cryptocurrencies have a ROI of +5000%, other coins with low capitalization have a ROI of -95%. Undoubtedly, the initial offerings of such unprofitable projects were incorrectly calculated and extremely overpriced.
1140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are the scam projects killing entire crypto space? on: September 28, 2019, 07:56:06 PM
In my opinion, the cryptocurrency community must strongly fight against fraudulent projects. Such crooks and thieves steal money from honest investors and undermine the prestige of crowd-funding campaigns. Of course, these scammers cannot "kill" the entire crypto space, but they can significantly reduce prices when they will cash out stolen coins on cryptocurrency exchanges.
