I think it makes more sense if James Maddison and Youri Tielemans leave the club. The reason being that at this point it feels like Leicester City are not being able to take advantage of the potential of both of these players. Both of these players are very much capable of playing quite well when they are given the chance. I think the club is going to try to keep them in the squad because they know how big of a potential these two players have.

There was lot of interest in both the players. With Tielemans, player actually wants a new challenge but the club denied the offers as manager really wants the player as he is crucial in midfield. It's same with Maddison when a PL club showed interest in him if I recall things correctly. Now as long as Rodgers is there, I think it will be hard to bring players unless an irresistible bid arrives but with Foxes not performing its possible that he might be sacked and maybe bringing these players might become easier perhaps.

Quote
But at the same time, I don't believe the players are going to stay even though they are offered a good amount of money.

Honestly, its hard to say as you don't know what a player wants. But I also don't think these are kind of players who will choose money over growth.

I think Arteta might switch Ben White to play the role of Left back  while Holding will partner Saliba at their central defence, he just have to utilize the versatility of Ben White at this stage of their league campaign due to injuries to Tierney and Oleksandr Zinchenko, alternative Xhaka can also play the Left back role though he is lacking in pace to overlap and help their attack but he is still manageable playing the role with caution and discipline because we know Xhaka is always aggressive when playing consequently can be booked for bad tackling and fowl play.

Seems there is no change for Arsenal. Partey and Zinchenko are back into lineup. Glad to see these crucial players lined up before this North London Derby.

Ben white in my opinion will never be able to adjust into as left back position. He hasn't right now even adjusted into as a right back. Second, it will be Gabriel and Saliba always until one of them gets injured. I would say Arteta would rather go with a defence player to play in that position rather than a defensive mid one. Xhaka moves the ball very good and he is crucial in mid so playing him out of position will really bring some consequences. Xhaka is a type of player who takes up for the team so we also need that kind of player but getting too much aggressive is also something we don't need. This was the reason why he was criticised earlier and the captain- band was taken off.

Arsenal have a good record at home. however, in the premier league this season, Antonio Conte's Tattenham are still unbeaten.  This match will not be easy for the Gunners, some of the core players are reportedly doubting to appear in this match. Elney, Nelson, Rowe, injured. Partey, Soares, Zinchenko, Tierney, dubious. obviously this is a loss for Arteta.

I'm not sure arsenal will win this match, it's an advantage for Tottenham to continue their positive trend, and Tottenham should be able to take this situation into a win. however, that doesn't mean Arteta's squad can't score goals, moreover this match is their home game. I hope Arteta can make the most of his players.
I read some other news about Rowe and Elneny which it is certain that they will not be able to play and for others it is still in doubt and it is possible that some of them will also not be able to compete.
This is clearly a loss for Arsenal because at the moment they need a strong line-up but this injury storm clearly makes Arteta have to think harder because indeed this will be difficult if most of his players are absent.

Arteta haven't used Rowe much and we have options for Elnenny but it's the left back position which falls under bit concer actually with Zinchenko and Tierney doubtful. Other than that I don't think it's that of a major concern and we have players in those players to put up a decent squad against Spurs. Possible that we might see Tomiyasu featureing that position. Usually he plays as a right back but I have seen Arteta roll him out on the left hand side once and he did quite well then.

Mane was signed to replace Robert Lewandoski so it is a norm for fans to complain when he is not helping the team to win matches due to his inability to score goals but since they have returned to winning ways, I believe the players will be motivated to put up a better performance in their next matches.

Those fans should also understand that forward position is not his natural position so it will take time to adjust. He is a great player in attack and can help Bayern with great achievements but they gotta give him time to adjust to his new role and tactics that manager is giving him.

Now they have Dortmund next so definitely they needed a win to set things right before facing their main rival in Bundesliga. Should be a tough match so it will be interesting to see how Bayern deals in their next game day after their CL match.
1125  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: September 30, 2022, 08:56:18 PM
If that is your reasoning, then why didn't Haaland fail given the pressure he was under to succeed? When a player leaves their comfort zone, they often perform below average. Timo Wermer and Romelu Lukaku are two examples of players who tend to perform below average and who can only perform well to specific teams.

Nkuku is physically and mentally capable of succeeding.

Although I haven't seen much of him this season in the Premier League, he's a good player and a good move for Chelsea.

Well Haaland was having a tough time at start wasn't he? One-two games where he really struggled to get to the ball but his team and coach continued to put faith in him and kept feeding him the chances. I have been saying this- everyone needs time and chances to prove themselves and also need to handle the pressure. Haaland is a beast and the reason why he didn't failed because he met the expectations when his teammates and his coach (most importantly) continued to give him chances.

See I didn't exactly wanted to pin down on pressure as the only reason but there maybe lot of factors behind and yeah comfort zone is also one of those factors.

Now let's take Ronaldo's transfer for example. It was a mega transfer just because of kind of player Ronaldo is. He had great initial season meeting the expectations but now he is not. Is he playing out of his comfort zone now? In this case I would say it's pressure to meet those expectations for which he was bought for. Now he is struggling to start and get good a chance to prove.

There are many who have become world class player after getting adapted to new roles. Even when they were give a new role in a different line say shifting from mid to attack line. It's a gamble really sometimes it pays off great and sometimes doesn't. It all depends on what vision manager has for the player.

I will still say Nkunku will be under lot of pressure but if he is given the chances and manager has the right vision or tactical role for him which makes him adjust into the team right away or even takes time to adjust but guarantees that he will do in future then no doubt that he will become a crucial player for the team.

Everybody thinks that players from Germany will play bad because of Timo Werner but i dont think that will be the problem with Nkunku. Leizpig has amazing players and i think that only timo werner didnt find his way in the premier league. Premier league is different from the rest but you can take Haalands example that you can play easily in the epl

I don't have such opinion that just because Werner is bad means every German player is bad or a young potential player is a bad player. They have very good players with immense talent.  Werner had some qualities but not the perfect package for Chelsea.

It's not always the case like Haaland actually where you get a team perfect for you.

In addition to easy-to-understand strategies, support from team mate is the main key to the success of players on a team. I don't think Werner's situation is the same as Haaland's at Manchester City, Haaland is a player whose main job is to score goals where I've seen him receiving more passes than dribbling.

I also don't think all German players are bad, I remember Ballack was a good player with Chelsea back in 2006-2010. I also don't think all German players are bad, I remember Ballack was a good player with Chelsea back in the 2006-2010 era. Werner may not be very good as a striker who is expected to score a lot of goals for Chelsea, but the support of his teammates will be very decisive that statistic. Now that he is in Leipzig, he continues his career there.

Yes Haaland is getting a lot of support from his teammates and his manager. He is the right poacher that City wanted and the the right team to grow that Haaland wanted. With Werner, I have said earlier that the guy has tremendous pace but he lacks the finishing and passing. While the passing thing might not be that important but finishing should be the thing for which he was brought in when Chelsea already had strikers like Tammy Abraham and Batshuayi who have the pace and good finishers of the ball as well.

if consider the purchase to be a Munich business and long-term investment. Of course, Ronaldo will not be on the Munich buy list. with old age, although the arrival of Ronaldo will make sales of jerseys and souvenirs from the club increase. but it will only last for the duration of the contract. I think Munich is thinking of a player asset that has more value in the long term.

Any team that buys Ronaldo today is only doing so for the sake of the club's earnings. He is an asset to the club and any club would be lucky to have him. A team like Munich doesn't need him for that; they need a player who will stay and help the team for a long period. Ronaldo is getting older, yet his physique is still impressive at his age. A smaller club, rather than a big one like Bayern Munich, will need him to boost their club earnings.

It was quite a surprise when there were multiple sources confirming Bayern actually thought about Ronaldo when looking for a striker but later on thought that it didn't fit right into their plan. I think its bit of a financial obstacle which is holding them back. Also yeah they need someone for the future so that's another thing. Bayern are very smart while making transfers and I don't think Bayern are the ones who will make this transfer happen just because they want their revenue to grow.
1127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: September 30, 2022, 06:37:02 PM
In fact, I don't expect them to make big transfers until next summer. I've heard that they have reached an agreement with Nkunku for next summer. He is a talented young striker but I can't say much about his future performance already now. Because the expectations from Werner was also big but he was a big disappointment.

Yes, it seems that they are going after RB Leipzig striker Cristopher Nkunku who had a great season last year. They have already agreed terms with Nkunku it seems: https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1575785552921919488 but still have to work out deal with Leipzig. I also have doubts on Nkunku performing in Premier league as I think he still needs experience as PL matches are quite tough and he will be representing a top team so there will be lot of pressure on him and that's where a new player fail to perform. Take Werner for example.

I don't think that the expectation from Graham Potter will be winning the league title this season.

They would like to see how the team will perform in the long run after adapting to Potter's new strategies. If they surprise us and start to perform much better right away then I'd expect them to win four times in a row until facing Manchester United in the league. Because all of their opponents on these weeks are going to be comfortable ones for them normally. The only thing Chelsea need now is to improve their scoring performance. Aubameyang will be under pressure to benefit from the chances he finds as much as possible.

Hopefully they will start with a win against Crystal Palace this week.

A top side needs to have lot of players who can score or a player who can score lot of goals for them. Take Liverpool for example where they have Salah and City for example where they have lot of players. For Chelsea they have none right now. Sterling is the man in form for them but their other players need to step up their game. I think they should try giving Borja a chance.

Eagles are tough side and it will be a good test for Potter and his men.

Will Elche get another negative result when they travel to Rayo's mark in this week's match? It's ironic to see how they are now, they are worse than last season. They have never tasted a win and have only drawn one of the six matches they have played. I think it's been a long season for them, I can't think that they will stay in the Spanish top league next season.

Elche have been struggling to score and also on top of that they are also unable to defend their net so no wonder they are at the bottom. Well season just started so they still have time but they have to fix these things. Vallecano haven't been in form either but still their squad has better quality than Elche so I think should be another loss for Elche in this upcoming round's game.

i don't think barcelona team will keep busquets for another season but de jong is another story it would be a huge loss for barcelona if he refuse to stay i think if the salary is really low he won't stay in the club even if he loves it.

After all the time he has spent for Barcelona, will Barcelona still insist on not considering or keep busquets next season? I think otherwise after see at Barcelona's match record over the last few seasons, Busquets plays a minimum of 30 match for each season.
That leaves room to think that Barcelona still need Sergio Busquets control in midfield
Frenkie de Jong can be Busquets' partner in midfield, and I believe the movement of Barcelona's midfield will be more free with the cooperation of the two midfielders.

There are some strong rumours linking Busquets to MLS and some even say that player also is seriously considering it. Who knows whats going on behind the scenes but I think even if he leaves they have good replacements. It's not about how much matches he plays. Club has been dragging their old players with low salary for a long time and even players agreed to it but it is evident they won't be accepting this situation for long.

Right now they have whole season and world cup to think about so I think we will get to know the situation better at the end of the season.
1131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: September 25, 2022, 07:36:38 PM
Speaking of test of strength, I don't suppose we are expecting Manchester United to win by any chance neither can we conclusively state that Manchester United have got no chance. Manchester City remains the best team in England as we have it and should they go for a win in that game, Manchester United will not be able to stop them. Hence, we looking at test of strength would be more of, seeing how well they could hold the forces of Manchester City, its a real challenge for Manchester United and they are sure to understand that as Arsenal wasn't good enough to prove themselves the forth coming Derby would tell us just how improved the team has become.

Arsenal made some mistakes and that's why they lost that match but City have Guardiola and he has good amount of experience so yeah it would be a tough match but I think City are gonna win the derby.  Besides City have every player in their best shape while United don't have their squad in best shape. Despite United not at their best, I think it still will be a hell of a contest.

I think Xavi can handle his team without losing focus on other competitions. Laliga and Champions League are both important, so I don't think Xavi will keep his best squad on the bench against Mallorca just because the player is expected to do well against Inter in the Champions League. Their main players have to get minutes to play, they have to play even if they have to start from the bench. Xavi's main target is simply to win faster than Mallorca in the first half with a good goal difference, and that could see him attract some players to rest in the second half.

Yeah they need to focus on CL right now as that is the one likely to get out of hand. I still think they won't be able to select their best squad against Inter. Against Mallorca its a bit difficult as Xavi has to manage his players and has to substitute those players which he wants to use in CL in second half. It still will be very hard because Araujo was their main man in defence and without him defence is gonna struggle.

It looks like FC Bayern is interested in signing Tottenham's Harry Kane. FC Bayern is said to have contacted the player and advised him to wait with a contract extension until Bayern has made an offer for him. After the departure of Robert Lewandowski, FC Bayern has an urgent need for a striker - Mané has (unfortunately) not yet been able to meet the high demands. So that the discussions about another striker at FC Bayern are currently increasing strongly.

Source: https://twitter.com/iMiaSanMia/status/1573214071993913345

Harry Kane at Bayern? Would absolutely love that! What about you guys?  Cheesy

Interesting and that is coming from a strong source too. Kane has contract until 2024 so still quite some years but its a difficult one. Kane is a crucial player for Spurs and Spurs might be holding with the contract extension as world cup is coming and player is focused on that. Possible that Spurs might open contract extension discussions once world cup is over as they are also aware of Bayern's interest.

I have some doubts. First of all I believe that Kane is forming a great relationship with Conte and like his plans for the Spurs future so it will be hard to convince the player to not sign the extension. Secondly, Kane is 29 right now and by the time his contract expires he will be 31 but yeah he will come for free but still Bayern has to wait 2 years for Kane. I don't think thats an immediate solution for the striker problem they are facing right now.

In my opinion, they are not using him in right position. Mane is comfortable in playing on left wing so he is not an exact replacement of Lewandowski to begin with. Yes he has played in striker role but he can give his best playing on wing. But if they want him as a striker then allow him some time to adjust. With recent results, it seems they definitely don't have time so best is to find a good striker.

You got the real point, which is being consistent on the long run and being consistent on the long run is caused by only one thing, which is having a good club depth. When you check Manchester City squad and realise that a player like Grealish may not be categorised as a first team player, you will understand how good Manchester City is.
Even if Haaland is injured today, City will confidently play matches and will still win and a player will still be able to get a hatrick

Guardiola focuses on making the squad dense and have options and City have good pocket to fill in his demand. It's hard to keep up with players in that team when there are lot of players with class and same is what going on for Grealish as Guardiola finds Foden better to go in place for Grealish.

Not aware of Haaland's injury but if he gets injured then I think Foden will come at centre and Grealish possibly might see some action. About hat-trick not sure, but yeah City has lot of players who can score. Their build up is great and unless opponent doesn't have a good strategy they will definitely score.
1135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: September 24, 2022, 05:38:55 PM
Even though Arsenal are playing well so far, but I'm still not completely sure that they will stay in good shape like this. Especially now that Manchester City looks more aggressive in their game, and they also pose a real threat in the standings by sticking very tight.
Tottenham will be a challenge for Arsenal this week, seeing the strength of the two teams it is difficult to predict who will win.

Yeah in long run no one can predict what team will be where in the table and same stands with Arsenal. But over the last weeks, Arsenal has established as a tough team and are one of the contenders for the title as it seems. City are also another team in the race, so yeah it would be interesting to see who wins when their fixture arrives.
1136  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: September 24, 2022, 04:53:10 PM
Do you really think that there are alternative formations that don't pose the risk of being too week, taking into account the potential absences? They are talking about four players, which is quite a hardly foreseeable scenario. The decision making process will be hard, but I have hope in Xavi.

Barca has dense squad now and even with four players out, I think they will be able to put good squad against Mallorca. The difficult part is that three days later they have game against Inter in CL and that is very important for them if they want to keep good chances of advancing to the next stage. Xavi has to make some tough calls here.
1137  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: September 24, 2022, 12:36:30 PM
Even though Arsenal are in first place in the standings at the moment but for me that doesn't mean Arsenal are the best, but if yesterday Arsenal could win against Manchester United or at least get a draw then I might be confident today to decide the match against Tottenham. But because Arsenal still doesn't seem ready against a top team, then against Tottenham it could be a bad result for Arsenal whether it's a loss or maybe a draw. But because Tottenham have a coach who is firm on the pitch, it seems Conte can indeed make his players play more aggressively.

I would say every defeat gives a lesson and I think Arsenal paid the huge price in their match against United is because they were playing high line and were caught on counter attack. Now Spurs also play counter-attacking football so if we avoid those mistakes or have some counter measure in such situations then I think we can win this for sure. Although I wouldn't undermine Spurs given the sharpness in counter-attack they have.
1138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: September 23, 2022, 08:09:35 PM
I can expect Barcelona to qualify for the round of 16 this season even though they looked difficult to get points from the match against Bayern Munich. I don't expect Barcelona to lead the table, but they must ensure two wins from Inter although it is difficult for Barcelona to expect victory from Bayern Munich in the second leg.

The matches against Inter and Viktoria Plzen must be put to good use and Barcelona must not lose points from those 3 matches. Apart from the possibility that they can lose at home to Bayern Munich, then another 9 points is mandatory. I hope Barcelona are able to live up to my expectations this season, it will be really nice.

The group is difficult as that group also has Bayern and Inter and only two of these 3 giants will advance. I would say games against Inter will be very much crucial for Barcelona. They need to have a good plan to get some points in these heavy fixtures if they have to maintain themselves in CL. Barcelona has everything they need so I think they should be able to advance. Even in their last game they were giving Bayern some pretty hard time, its just that in the end they conceded and that turned around things but apart from that they were very good with chances and attacking drives. They have good chances to win against Inter though in my opinion.
1139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: September 23, 2022, 07:40:33 PM
my claim is that the worse or less convincing bayern munich plays forward, the louder the call for a new top/world class striker. and since there were already rumors about Harry Kane (tottenham) this summer, i see him as the number #1 bayern would be interested in.

Bayern can try all they want but I don't think he is gonna come. Remember Kane is a player that City also tried for with over 100m bid and still Spurs denied because they believe Kane as their crucial man and this was when Spurs were having their hard days - near to when Mourinho was sacked. With Conte now making things turn to good for Spurs I think it is very hard for Bayern to bring Kane as they have to convince both the club and the player. Answer is Club won't accept it first as they consider Kane as their crucial player and player won't accept because he has been playing for that club for quite long and I don't think he will say yes to an offer where he has to adjust outside of England.
1140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: September 23, 2022, 07:35:20 PM
Again United have always bested City for two season now because of the style play.
The previous two matches between Manchester United vs Manchester City, Manchester City won the match. But this season's match conditions are difficult to predict. Although the match was at home to Manchester City, Manchester United also experienced a good performance. However, City is also United's arch rival.

Things stand pretty hard for United to win against City but still I won't rule them out entirely. Previous results means nothing. They are just stats and can't tell you the pattern who is gonna win or who is gonna not for sure. City are in top form right now but United are also turning things around but City obviously have the better squad. I think very likely that match will go towards City or a draw at best.
