Can someone add http://gagapool.pw/ in the OP please?
thanks

And guys please mine @Gagapool, I've made the pool for EBT and picked up DIEM on a very late stage because they were having issues with their previous MP. Now I have more miners mining DIEM than EBT :/

Likely because SHA mining anything but BTC isn't worth it and the pool couldn't possibly be mining BTC.  People are better off mining BTC and just buying the EBT themselves than using the pool.

Make EBT the scrypt port and I'd happily move my rigs over...  There also needs to be SOME sort of info on what's being mined to reassure people that the pool is mining the most profitable coin and they're not wasting power.  Just my 2 sat.

Huh? Those were examples.

You can mine either algo and get paid with the coin you choose, So you can get paid with EBT by mining scrypt coins too.

Maybe gagapool is a bit confusing for some, everytime I need to explain this a few times, the algos are not tied to the pay coins, X11 is on the roadmap.

You can mine sha256 or scrypt on gagapool, You choose the paycoin by prefixing your address with either EBT_ or DIEM_ (uppercase!!!).

See here that people are mining scrypt coins and paid in EBT

http://gagapool.pw/workers

Just give examples of all four combinations to avoid the confusion.

Practically everyone I've talked to has been confused by the description.

I have to applaud the POLO team for this. You losers just hate that you invested so big in SUPER and ignore that fact that Polo is actually reviewing the code. It's was sketchy code and better to be safe than sorry.

Unfortunately your are a krytpo-ignoramous and not a krypt-ologist.

You don't understand the code at all. MAX_MONEY has no bearing on the "max money". It's just a poorly named variable used for checking the consistency of transactions.

Why do you wish to look so ignorant?

2,555.102 EBT = $1 USD

WTF?  Is that correct?  Last time I checked it was around 5000 EBT per $

Hate missing buy opportunities.

To those who held when everyone else started dumping the moment it got listed on Poloniex;

Good call.

Honestly not a fan of the new name and the staking change at the end of the mimth makes me nervous, but from what i hear about upciming merchant acceptance I think its going to keep going up.

Do you mean "end of ninth"? Maybe this is just the beginning. The devs obviously have investors in mind with every move. Look at what they have done:

1. Gradual re-branding away from the original less than savory image (go back and look at the early part of this thread).
2. Move to pure PoS, which stabilizes the coins value.
3. Upping the interest and shortening the maturity to stabilize the network and award early investors.
4. EBT is even the payout coin of a multipool (I believe this is xminer's work).

Why would any of this make you nervous?

[addendum]

Most devs at such a late stage are either non-existent, stepping in to try to profit from a "rescue" by awarding themselves coins, or doing nothing and claiming that changing anything about the coin is somehow a mortal sin.

The EBT devs seem to treat EBT as a true long-term investment and are willing to adapt to a changing market without blind ideologies getting in the way of sound decisions.

The debacle shows how surprisingly low level an exchange (or its "owner") is. Such ignorance by an exchange owner on the alt coin codebase. He even brave enough to pretend to be an expert of the domain and to make such ridiculous/false claims, and show how stupid he is before the whole community. What an idiot!

GUYS:

It's time to stop bashing poloniex now. They have issued a public apology and clarification (of sorts).

It will be better to advertise this fact.

If you think there is no reason, you should really educate yourself. Every thing has two sides.

And here is your opportunity to be an educator...but it looks like you have nothing to teach.

What is the reason to continue PoW?
1127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SUPER] SuperCoin - Anon Wallet in Testnet Released Now on: June 16, 2014, 09:18:35 AM
This is the last thing i say

And you left without explaining why PoW should be continued.

More wisdom: "If you can't support your position, abandon the discussion."
1128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SUPER] SuperCoin - Anon Wallet in Testnet Released Now on: June 16, 2014, 09:12:45 AM
Is there any reason to continue POW for Bitcoin?

No. There is no reason to continue PoW for Bitcoin. It could switch to pure PoS and save a lot of valuable energy in the process.

Can you name a reason to continue PoW for Bitcoin?
1129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SUPER] SuperCoin - Anon Wallet in Testnet Released Now on: June 16, 2014, 09:07:46 AM

You are responsible for your own. Just don't pay 5000/8000sat for a coin that was sold for 40/100 sat a week earlyer. What do you expect Wink

I get it, you enjoy rubbing in the losses of others.

But is there any other reason to continue PoW besides your own morbid amusement?
1130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SUPER] SuperCoin - Anon Wallet in Testnet Released Now on: June 16, 2014, 09:03:48 AM
You cant blame the pow rewards because you pay too much too early... Only people who have reason to blame are the mislead early sellers, since nobody pays them for the "loss" Wink

So the devs have a responsibility to those who have sold the coin and have no further interest in it?

Do we also have a responsibility to the people of Pompei, to protect them from volcanoes?  Cheesy
1131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SUPER] SuperCoin - Anon Wallet in Testnet Released Now on: June 16, 2014, 09:01:52 AM
risk: if we can handle this correctly, it may not take risk on Supercoin development, because many Altcoin update their source code several times, such as Darkcoin and XC coin.

It's clear that the model and motivation for supercoin came from Dark and XC, so it would only be natural to take this lesson as well.
1132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SUPER] SuperCoin - Anon Wallet in Testnet Released Now on: June 16, 2014, 08:54:43 AM
People shouldnt support too high prices, but they do. Each and every "trader" or "buy and holder" has made the mistake. You can learn from it, or go on with it...

Your advice is to not invest in any PoW coin then.  Cheesy

Very wise indeed.

Hehe, you turn over my words. You can support pow, but every thing has his price wise man Wink. Most of you cant put a buyorder and wait till its filled. All greedy.

What is your motivation to continue PoW? Greed or ideology?

1133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SUPER] SuperCoin - Anon Wallet in Testnet Released Now on: June 16, 2014, 08:50:41 AM
What are you trying to say? You think it has something to do with the chart?

Per definition its better to stop pow, for the bagholders, or not?

You claim it is not good to be a bagholder for a PoW coin. That is equivalent to saying "don't invest in a PoW coin".

If people shouldn't own a coin, what is the purpose of the coin?

Let me explain some why we should not hardfork and stop PoW.
Each hardfork needs about 4 days time, cause a lot of communications needs to be done from our side. And we have already few days before the first halve. At current rate it's effect will be very less.

And there are many pools out there if we shut off PoW and they do not upgrade to newer version. (Because we are killing their business) We have some risk of network attacks (forks getting stronger). We don't know and can't control these. If you noticed we had more than 15 pools in the past. most of them still not very communicative. Very hard to reach them.

We have only 18m PoW coins to mine, and the rest will be PoS which is mostly not generates much because of movements to/from exchanges. also pos is good thing to advertise hold.

All you need is for the exchanges to adopt the new wallets. Make sure the new wallets reject any PoW blocks after a certain time and the conversion will go smoothly.

You will find that PoW is a huge burden. It is a security risk too. Coin2 had to undergo 3 new versions, each a result of an attack on PoW.
1136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SUPER] SuperCoin - Anon Wallet in Testnet Released Now on: June 16, 2014, 08:43:48 AM
Haha, are you a child who thinks "if i ask enough, i will get it"?

Probably you can also send some letters to the Gov (Fed)? That would really help Wink

Name some more PoW coins so we can go look at the price charts....

Still waiting on those names.
1137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SUPER] SuperCoin - Anon Wallet in Testnet Released Now on: June 16, 2014, 08:42:06 AM
Lets stop all pow coins directly and make them pos! Bitcoin, Litecoin, Peercoin, and all others. That would be great!

Peercoin is PoS. Litecoin has gone steadily down since the beginning of the year.

And you are left with Bitcoin, which is the reference for the others.

Which leaves you with....NOTHING.
1138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SUPER] SuperCoin - Anon Wallet in Testnet Released Now on: June 16, 2014, 08:35:20 AM
At worst, eliminating PoW stabilizes the price. Nothing is to be gained from a runaway money supply. People are invested. The coin is distributed. Every PoW coin will get dumped to non-existence over time. That's just a fact of life. PoW is not needed, so end it.

i also agree with to cut pow directly like XC coin or at a very low pow reward like Darkcoin( Average 10 coin now, Check it here  http://chainz.cryptoid.info/drk/).

Dev, make Change, Please.

Change will take Supercoin go further.

If the premine is a worry, just burn the appropriate number of coins to adjust the premine to the new coin total:

Completely agree with dev. Already reduced pow from 50 mil to 18 mil, and block will halve soon. No need to further make hardforks. I understand every holder of SUPER wish that no more supply, so his coins will worth more. But on the other hand, let's be reasonable. A coin's price is mainly ruled by the traders. I saw last 24 hrs trading volume is 210 BTCs in bittrex for Supercoin. Daily generation is 1.6 BTC as dev said, and not all are dumped. So there's absolutely no need to further reduce, we just shoot our own foot that way, it will not help price.

I even made a post about this for 42 a while ago (and talked about MAX_MONEY as well):

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=444775.0

+1

I think your post was mentioned previously already in this thread. Smiley
But it's nice to get a confirmation in person. Thanks!

So it looks like I must apologize to the 42 team because they corrected that problem very quickly. I simply forgot about that post until this supercoin issue came up and reminded me of it.
