When will block halving occur?

At 533,333,333 coins.  This should be around 4PM - 7PM Sunday 3/31 (central USA time -6).  So soon!

Price is rising fast Cheesy

eek, not quite.  A lot of USDe out there to be sold by miners/dumpers, etc.  Pick some up cheap I guess.

SOS.
we need more buying, come together!

Yeah, I'd say if you support USDe, help secure it over the next few days in this altcoin down period, as well as before the block having.  Just got pick up about .05 BTC, that is roughly $25...  and then go to Mintpal and exchange it for about 250,000 USDe!  If we all do that it'll clear those sell walls and eat up dumpers, keeping the price at a decent level ;-)

1125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / REMINDER - USDe Block Reward Halves on Sunday 3/30 on: March 26, 2014, 08:59:37 PM
Just a friendly reminder to those of you that mine, buy, or follow USDe, The Dollar Improved.

It is estimated that the coin will reach its first 1/3 of supply, 533,333,333 coins, on this Sunday sometime mid-day Central Daylight Savings Time (~4PM plus/minus some).

Block rewards will drop in half from 4000 per block to 2000 per block, until the next 2/3 of supply is reached and they cut in half yet again.  This will take some time and should also reduce inflation, dumping, etc.

Enjoy mining at the 4000 block rewards for a few more days and pick up some USDe on Mintpal or other supported exchange before the event at low conversion rates still.

No I used my meeger minings of BTC.  I will try it with USD next and let you all know how it went.  Be a few days though, before I can.

Well thanks.  You inspired me to temporarily stop mining USDe a bit so that I could add more buy support also.  I have technically chose to mine Digibyte here, reaping in about 100k coins a day - in which I can easy sell on Mintpal, then buy USDe on Mintpal :-) and end up better off ;-)

1127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [USDe] Unitary Status Dollar eCoin $$ IMPROVED | BLOCK HALVING SOON!!! on: March 25, 2014, 11:23:38 PM
Update from my view:

1.  We are at ~505,000,000 USDe coins generated (a little over that).
2.  Halving will occur at 533,333,333 USDe (1/3 of 1.6 Billion).
3.  We have ~28,333,333 coins until the block rewards cut down to 2000 USDe per block.
4.  We generate 4000 per block, per minute, thus 5,760,000 per 24 hours.

At that rate we will hit the halving event in 4.91 days or ~118 hours from now.

It's Tue, ~6PM here CDT in USA.  So I'd estimate around this Sunday, March 30th, around 4PM CDT in USA we'll start seeing the blocks halve (or right before).  Mine these nice blocks while you can, maybe pick up some UDSe to show buy support, etc.  At the event it will be basically like difficulty doubling I suppose.

Back to more currency appropriate topics we can actually impact, although I did also get a few good laughs and understand the passion some people have for what is going on in the world internationally today now, including the USA.

Current Market Cap Information:

USDe is still down low on the list but on the list at least.  Our current .00000037/BTC value is low for the level of support in the USDe community but we still have high levels of mining/inflation due to 4,000 block rewards.  These halve in about a week now (next weekend on Sunday I approximated) and not too much buy support on major exchanges exist right now.

USDe is mined by some pretty big hash rates which are starting to hold a lot of coins; however, it seems to be spread around pretty well across a large community now.  Make this a week to:
  • Buy a little USDe, add your buy support to Mintpal/Poloniex for example or exchange of your choice.  Those two just happen to reflect in the above.
  • Keep spreading the word about USDe, going on few months old now, is stable, does still have community & "dev"/board support.

If we eventually get USDe's value up the community members will have a little more ability to actually use it for more causes, larger goods & services (you can already spend your USDe directly), etc.  That 500,000 USDe (worth $100) or 5,000,000 USDe (worth $1000) won't do quite as much right now but we can continue creating a future of accepted worth by continued support.
1129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Rash of "country" coins, scam coins, and abandoned coins late?!?!? on: March 23, 2014, 03:23:30 AM
This seems a little ridiculous at this point that we are still watering down the crypto currency market with more coins/currencies.  Aren't we at enough - for many some have specific targets and others with more general global crypto purposes.  These coins for specific countries are getting out of hand it seems as well - completely pre mined to a large portion with TBDs on how they will be distributed, not really enough to distribute purposefully long term, and no true backing from governments they claim to align with in most cases.  On top of that we still have a rash of coins that just get launched, dumped, and the same developers are off launching new ones.  Our community has hoppers that keep jumping on new bandwagons to enable this.

Ok, done venting.  Personally, just observations.

I've chosen to stick with USDe, sure its a script coin, a little unique but nothing special in specs that is - but the developer and us/team have stuck with it and have ongoing plans for improvement and constant support, talking daily, making technical improvements (we've forked it twice), and hope to tackle our issues of inflation with its first halving event then next on at 2/3, continued exchange support/expansion, etc.

More coins that are say top 100 need to do this.  Get a following, and stick with them, stop hopping around, and choose one where the support is there permanently - and hopefully we'll stop seeing new coins, unless they are truly innovative.  But at this point innovation is building on top of existing coin protocols which is good enough for a while.

Take care-
1130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: MapleCoin To Launch March 22nd on: March 23, 2014, 03:15:13 AM
There is not official crypto currency of Canada, nothing endorsed by government, or people for that matter.  Hate that all these coins are now trying to claim association with specific countries - they are all going to fail on that front for the most part.  Defeats some of the purpose of cryptos in the first place!

Wondering?

Is USDe not interested in supporting the Crimea Tatars? I'm trying to get receive coins organised to donate for the Tatar people in Crimea. Planning to visit Crimea in 3/4 weeks. so it would be nice if USDe would be part of it. Every donation would help the people from Crimea.

1. The donations will NOT be sold on the exchanges as this can put some pressure on the coin price.
2. The donations will be given to new birth children. In 3/4 weeks i will visit a girl that just gave birth of a child. Depending if they have a computer (as not everybody has that in Crimea) i will either gave her hrivnas or dollars.

#HEX is one of the coins that is currently already donating... so if USDe is interested, please send me a PM.

placebo, interesting what you are trying to do and very generous as well.  i'm speaking from myself personally, not for USDe here.  I'm not sure USDe has the market capital to do anything like this that is too impactful right now while it is still "getting on its feet" per say.  USDe will get there one day and have resources to assist as a community I'm sure, probably why the community didn't respond to much primarily though I bet.  As for USDe the coin/owners itself - they may also want to stray away from any particular political, governmental, or religious focused causes at this point - especially if the currency is focused on a global nature.  I'm sure people will think about your post though and help if they feel it is a good cause.  Best wishes.
1132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [USDe] Unitary Status Dollar eCoin ** MANDATORY UPDATE @ BLOCK 107,500! ** on: March 22, 2014, 04:39:43 PM
We all have other obligations in life, which require our time. Also the number of fail launches of all sorts of fail coins really got the best of us, none of us get any joy out of running a pool anymore.

Yup, I like to always do some solo mining on newly launched coins (have a separate rig for this), but in the last weeks it really has been dramatic with new coins.
The last being Rotocoin yesterday with a way to late launch, followed by an insane difficulty after just a few blocks.

I stopped following launches lately - feel like with are just over saturated already - although these country specific coins are becoming interesting, 1/2, 3/4 pre mined though of course by design so much different.  What else is still coming out lately - how much more innovation if any is possible at the moment?

I think it will be interesting in about 8 days when all USDe rewards half from 4000 to 2000 per block, should help with inflation some, etc.

Steadymining.com will shut down on 07-04-2014 so please withdraw your coins!
Still having dns errors for steadymining.com "server not found"

Sad to hear steadymining is shutting down (also the other altcoin pools they have).

Did you try to connect directly through their IP address: 149.210.166.111

Yeah entering numerical address makes no difference.....I guess I can change the dns servers on my adapter.....

Anyone know why they're shutting down?

We all have other obligations in life, which require our time. Also the number of fail launches of all sorts of fail coins really got the best of us, none of us get any joy out of running a pool anymore.

It was a productive pool so thanks again for running it.  Switch off it and looks like it is slowing shutting down as people get the message.  Best of luck.  USDe will continue to grow so hopefully stay connected to it if possible ;-)

Hey all,

I downloaded the wallet last night, let it run overnight and still not syncing. Anyone have any extra nodes I can plug in?

Thanks!

Hmm, it should work by default pretty well.  I can share all the ones I had in my conf (which isn't needed as much now) file here.  Don't have many in mine really and it syncs pretty fast on the network.  Just these 2.

rpcport=54448
rpcconnect=127.0.0.1
addnode=23.253.71.56
addnode=192.237.223.87

Thanks. I have those as they were in the conf file from the download. I'm running Windows 8.1. Downloaded the wallet from the OP and from the website. Neither are syncing for me. When I run getpeerinfo it comes up with {} which is odd. I ran the wallet straight up and ran it with the wallet with the conf file in appdata. I tried adding the nodes in console but got error 32601. Only one instance of the wallet is running. I have also deleted everything from appdata and re-ran the wallet. Firewall is off and router is open. Also rebooted. Not sure what else to do.

That is strange, it sounds like Windows/Router are blocking things; however, said you checked all that.  Maybe try to connect at a Starbucks to see if it is your router or through your mobile phone temporarily - that will rule out your router (shouldn't block those though).  Make sure Windows 8 thinks your on a private network so trust is there - not as familiar with it lately.

Well, that was kinda easy/cool.  Did a little shopping on Altoutlet and worked well - used some of my USDe!

Besides that, investing in a little more here on MP.  Agree on threads above, you can't just "pump" coins but slow growth is a good thing.  Big things are coming for USDe in weeks ahead.

Yeah, it seems that estimates on pools and all are accurate now and the payments roll in consistently!

Well if you sent to that Android wallet, perhaps there is a way to recover it depending on the type of wallet data file it uses or if it gets upgraded.  Just hold on to it, just in case I'd say.

Reached out to the other guys on the board to see what the status is of that initial old Android wallet - and we are actively soliciting and/or planning to get a new one created to make USDe much more exchangeable from person to person.

you thing thought of this wallet for Android??? http://usd-e.com/download/android/USDE-1.01.1.apk
I installed it just that I can not update it!
and I can not send and receive coins! : Huh

I'm pretty sure we don't have an updated app for android yet, thus why the link is dead on the main website right now.  More to come on that wallet though.
1139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [USDe] Unitary Status Dollar eCoin ** MANDATORY UPDATE @ BLOCK 107,500! ** on: March 19, 2014, 12:09:30 AM
So for the first halving event at 1/3 coin supply, correct me or make improvements:

Total Supply = 1.6 Billiion, so first 1/3 is at 533 Million.

We are at ~465 Million right now on 3/18.  Leaves us 68 Million more to halving reward event (4K to 2K).

At current 4K reward per 1 minute, that is 1440 minutes daily x 4000, = 5,760,000 coins generated per day on target.

So, 68,000,000 divided by 5,760,000 is 11.8 (days approximately) until event.

That would be on or around/after Sunday, March 30th?
