Nope, because my family don't really use bitcoin and they are not a lot of people that I know that use bitcoin. I think I can do some BBQ if the price after the halving will increase. That would be very awesome eating and seeing bitcoin growing.
I think the price will be very interesting to watch in the month leading up, on the night of the halving I will be happily hodling. There should be a party somewhere in the US for all Bitcoin enthusiasts to celebrate.

More here : http://www.coindesk.com/2016-bitcoin-best-year/So what are your thoughts on the following ? how the new is going to be for Bitcoin ?
4. Commodity giants will get involved with bitcoin mining
Faced with a bear market in commodity prices which implies a declining demand for electricity, some big primary sector companies will partner up with bitcoin mining companies to provide them with legal framework and physical infrastructure – allowing bitcoin transaction processing to take place in some of the most barren regions of the world.
This will be interesting. Excited to see who joins in the innovation of this aspect of Bitcoin. All great points and I agree with most.

Some people just want to remain anonymous withtheir profiles on forums rather than revealitheir true identity onthe facebook. Facebook is not tha reliable when it comes to bitcoin informtion anyway, havig followers there or not really doesn't makes much difference. People still prefer to stay in the forums.
I agree, many people that use Bitcoin like it for ease and anonymity, flaunt it on FB kind of kills the anonymity of it all.

If you don't want to read through all his bitcointalk posts there are links to his most important quotes collected on a page at the nakamotoinstitute. http://satoshi.nakamotoinstitute.org/quotes/The website is a useful resource that collects together all his work, and the early history of Bitcoin. There is also a page with links to all his bitcointalk posts with titles so you can quickly find what you want. great link, like how organized the quotes are. My favorite: 2008-11-01 "I've been working on a new electronic cash system that's fully peer-to-peer, with no trusted third party."

Hello guys What I know, getting started with Bitcoin is difficult, specially with small budget. I have maximum $100 to buy mining hardware. I searched, i found many options like Avalon Nano 3 etc.. But i am not sure in 2016 this will be enough for mining. I would appreciate if you could explain how i could setup mining environment with one i3 laptop + $100 money. I would prefer USB type mining hardware ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) . You aren't going to be able to mine very much with a laptop, and in order to make anything substantial with mining you need to have very very cheap electricity and around $1000 to get mining equipment. Instead of trying to mine with only $100, I think it would be much more effective to use that $100 and buy some Bitcoin. Then you could try your hand at trading to increase that or just hold onto it and do some other work to earn Bitcoin. True, you are not going to get far with 100.00 and mining. Little late to the party on that. Why not simply buy 100.00 worth of Bitcoin and build from there? You can look into faucets and signature campaigns.

I would say BTC-e is the simplest but it's hard to deposit.
Other sites have really really strict KMC and AML rules which will take you a lot of time to try to verify your identity.
I had good experiences with BTC-e. I heard something that you could not do it from the US anymore though?

I like Coinbase:
-customer service response time is great -friendly customer service -secure (vault has 48 hour waiting period with two person verification -they are US based in SF, a legitimate company -deposits back to USD in bank within 1 day -love the app and love the desktop site

This is great! I am very excited about the search function, one of the best tools of a message board especially one like this.

I agree positive news and yes interesting that it is a combo of namecoin and peercoin ( I really liked the possibilties of namecoin). I like the new CEO of Microsoft and think he is trying to stay ahead of the curve, but I do not know why they are not doing anything with Bitcoin. They will hardly even discuss it?
Maybe it is because Bitcoin had a very bad reputation from all the scams that have happened, including the issues with the old defunct exchange Mt. Gox. But considering it is the pioneer of the blockchain technology, I wonder why Microsoft is avoiding Bitcoin? No matter what happened into Bitcoin (like Mt. Gox) the past is the past and it is important to look what Bitcoin could become in the future from now (in my opinion) ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I agree that it has had a bad reputation and maybe prevented some of the large tech giants from discussing it in public, but it seems that is old news and it has clearly grown up attracting some great minds and a lot of money. The silence from the giants regarding Bitcoin is interesting and I am not sure how to take it - good or bad.

I was under the impression that the majority of BTC goes through the Chinese and they are the largest percentage of holders. Maybe it is possible that they have these kind of numbers rather than it being rigged? It seems whenever something goes on with China markets Bitcoin moves and moves quite a bit. I was assuming this is natural.

This is very positive news. Since Emercoin was released, I was driven by its innovative technology that includes a combination of both Namecoin and Peercoin which makes it pretty interesting. However, I did not invest too much into it thinking that it will take too long for price to go upwards. But seeing this, makes me want to invest more into it right now. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) I just wonder why Microsoft has been using different technologies from different cryptos such as Ripple, Ethereum, Factom and now Emercoin instead of Bitcoin? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) I agree positive news and yes interesting that it is a combo of namecoin and peercoin ( I really liked the possibilties of namecoin). I like the new CEO of Microsoft and think he is trying to stay ahead of the curve, but I do not know why they are not doing anything with Bitcoin. They will hardly even discuss it?

If there is a general rise of digital coins, litecoin will see $10. Otherwise it will be staying around current level.
yes. I don't think $10 is a long shot as it has been trending with Bitcoin. If Bitcoin can go over 1000/coin then we might see it. Either way it is holding its own.

If you can't recover it ,as the good lord Satoshi said "Lost coins only make everyone else’s coins worth slightly more. Think of it as a donation to everyone".
Keep that in mind and move on!!
Thanks, I did not know he said that. I need to read more about him.

Such a crazy sad story, not sure how I would deal with it. Does anyone have an estimated guess on the amount of lost coins total and is it possible to ever know?

Buy slowly according to my budget and hodl every BIT I have. The answer to this question ...it is all relative.

Also, your service relies heavily on people obeying the law or facing legal consequences. History has shown us that people are not willing to sue the other party, even if their identity is known. Everyone just walks away.
Also, a scammer could easily have/pay a friend/stranger to record their voice for them, thereby having a different voice for each scam they commit.
True. just looked at your avatar and message ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

Have you thought about the use of free voice changing applications? What happens if a person has a cold? Also, nothing forces a user to use their real name. All you have is the sound of their voice. Who would spend time listening to all the scam voices to figure out if the voice they are listening to is not a scammer? Interesting idea though. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) There is so much voice tech out there that it keeps getting better and better. I think law enforcement uses it now and has a massive database.

to add...it seems to be a trend that things are going more towards open source.

Very interesting. There is great voice match tech out there as well. Nice!

This is not the kind of press Bitcoin needs and does not help people feel comfortable storing it. Thanks to this board I stayed away from Cryptsy, there were several alerts. Plus, there are many exchanges to choose from.
