oh I left the fee detail out of the visio - it is 0.0001 on top of the network fee

Here is the high level view of what we are releasing tonight in the wallet

https://mega.co.nz/#!wIcRkRII!-dD_F0lpUZPYlAV7x5vhmJpIyLC7d_hV7YoixBxocyk

**updated**

hopefully this answer some of the questions for now and this platform can be used for all sorts of interesting things...

I expect the release within 2-4 hours.. and I put together a real quick visio which I will be uploading shortly...
1124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC] -POW & 3.33% POS | 3 Exchanges | The first POS X11 Anonnymous wallet!! on: May 25, 2014, 10:14:26 PM
So, was the coin count reduced?
max coin is 33.3 mil 9(?)

no reduced to 10m I think

10m really?

so how long is the pow from now?

Some very valid arguments were made for reducing the coin count to about 10M so yes thats on the table and since we are about 50% of that now there is still a fair distribution opportunity

1125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC] -POW & 3.33% POS | 3 Exchanges | The first POS X11 Anonnymous wallet!! on: May 25, 2014, 09:16:10 PM
is the wallet still on for today?

yes tonight

I forgot the other PDF that also reflects some key concepts in our design, take note of the dual-path communications, XC will use multi-path

http://arxiv.org/ftp/arxiv/papers/1208/1208.3022.pdf

These are shown as reference material purposes only

1127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC] -POW & 3.33% POS | 3 Exchanges | The first POS X11 Anonnymous wallet!! on: May 25, 2014, 07:50:53 PM
I like Dark but come on, the whole thing is nothing but a slick marketing and product launch.

There is no marketing associated with Darkcoin. No sponsorships, giveaways, promo events, etc. There was a conscious decision to wait, get the job done and then market. How can you market a product which is beta and not final?

However, coinmarketcap caught up, whales caught up and the pressure escalated. Then global media caught up, then LTC and BTC holders started hedging with DRK and the whole thing blew enormously in terms of coin value and attention.

Quote
then spring this whole masternodes concept that encourages hoarding of the coins to keep the network alive which gets everyone in a buying spree, neverminding the fact the system is setup to further more enrich all those early miners who have the lion's share of the loot.

There must be negative incentives to prevent bad actors from mapping the network. No dis-incentive => someone launches 10.000 nodes and has 99.9% chance to map all transactions. If you make it "costly" to own the nodes you prevent the bad actor attack to a sufficient degree.

XC will "suffer" criticism on this regard for a while until it comes up with another or similar solution.
And then it'll be a POS Darkcoin clone.

If you write your own code, you are generally not considered a clone but the distinction can be elusive for non-coders. The key will be to maximize the technology and make it as anonymous as it can get.
Maybe not a direct clone, but supernodes sound familiar. Special nodes that do mixing, where have we seen that before?

DRK didn't "invent" supernodes or the concept, and while some of concepts are similar and/or overlap, we are on a different path than DRK and as we refine the platform, it will be clear why our design, implementation and infrastructure is superior as we will have autonomous supernodes using PKI that can scale up and out to become a distributed anonymous application platform

I think the potential for masternode application is being considered for DRK too (extra services through the masternodes etc) although the scope of services may vary. Altcoins are certainly evolving...

Will you also implement a mining reward schedule or fee-based-payment for x11coin supernodes?

it would be fee-based and it would go the node that processed the transaction

This is why the multi-path paradigm network I built back in 2005 still functions to do this day and scaled up to meet the demands of 2014... think back to 2005, granted we had the internet, but not the mobile technology - and that is a key part of my background is mobility that will be leveraged in the android anonymous POS wallet

1129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC] -POW & 3.33% POS | 3 Exchanges | The first POS X11 Anonnymous wallet!! on: May 25, 2014, 07:31:40 PM
For those looking for some more details... check out the link, our design incorporates some of the features from dual path paradigm concepts, although we are advancing this concept to be multi-path paradigm, and we will implement on top of tor to provide a high level of anonymity

http://eprint.iacr.org/2009/385.pdf
http://arxiv.org/ftp/arxiv/papers/1208/1208.3022.pdf

The principles for this concept come from a design that I originally leveraged back in 2005,[multi-path paradigm] the system still runs to do this day handling 50k to 100k users per day

also the infrastructure for this will support numerous other applications, such as encrypted messaging, P2P exchange..etc granted we can only develop new features so fast, but we are putting the foundation for a multi-use, multi-purpose platform

one the of the details we are still working out is the autonomous "supernode" function and best methods to prevent bad-actors.. We have implemented PKI and will leverage that as part of entire solution

i bought over 500 XCoin here -> https://www.europex.eu/#!coin/btc/x

Thinking it was XC (X11 Coin)

Now i learned the HARD way that i lost 0.54 BTC !!! Sad

Withdrew it and now "it's gone" destroyed i believe

I withdrew XCoin to my X11 address   XWB4AHRwgQnhGToasRbqgfUXGHrw8bBXZR           (if someone rich is willing to donate feel free Cheesy)  (i normally never bribe!)

At least someone on europex is happy that i bought his expensive XCoin then

PS: I never bribe, just feeling bad at the moment and it is the thruth i made this mistake! Sad  CRY

The transaction id from XCoin =>  ded4a451e575a5d15f2bdd634c64d9c494e3a60f23d0b13c57ae5d3ea4ed88f6

Look my post history and see i'm active on several coins, now i dived into X11 Coin and didn't notice XCoin is another coin.

Let people know... plz plz plz
Let this be a warning for others not to get mistaken or confused

I won't go in XC11 now since i will stop trading for a while..  Destroyed 0.54 BTC in total just because the name is almost the same Sad

wait XCoin = X11 coin i think

I don't believe that is X11Coin or XC -

did you receive your coins?

If your coins are lost, contact me and I'll see what I can do

X11coin and XC are the same coin right  XC is the symbol for X11coin right

Yes but there is an XCOIN on that EU exchange

please only use the listed exchanges

so today we will get the qt wallet or not?

thanks
i think u gotta pm dev for it, for the time being.

better to wait the official release.

good idea to add buttons like "normal"and "anon"

yes that is why it wasn't released to everybody, the front end gui needs to be updated to support the commands
1132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC] -POW & 3.33% POS | 3 Exchanges | The first POS X11 Anonnymous wallet!! on: May 25, 2014, 05:24:08 PM

Yes tonight but before that a public beta client will be release this afternoon, as results from testing are being reviewed for testing and the code being updated.

For those that helped with the alpha test, thank you, all your feedback is appreciated.

Think about this rationally. How easy is it to create a coin, claim that you're some sort of rainman programmer, provide some cryptic explanations of how your technology works, and then sit back and watch the pump? Compare that to actually developing a technology that is superior to what teams of others have been working on for 5+ years. Now which of these scenarios is more likely to occur?

Let's wait for tonight first   Wink

test wallet is available now, you have to TX though through the console with this build

where dude? I'd be interested to check it out.

I sent you a pm with the details

test wallet is available now, you have to send the TX through the console with this build however, so it isn't even a release candidate, it is a pure "functional" test release..

So far so good on test 2 phase of wallet. Can send normally and through mixer

Anon transactions working just a little bit raw for the average user for now but that is cool all part of the testing

I dare say if the qt wallet can just have an added button to cloak it in the cover of darkness - same way POLONIEX does night mode

recode the send button to use the sendfromixxer command choosing your default label would make life easier going forward and look cool

I would dare say the dev will be more forthcoming with how he has achieved it when its released. chill for now.

Okay so you can confirm what I have said is true?

for anybody that wants to test out the current windows-qt gui wallet, it is available for download, just contact me

Also, how are you going to add ring sig, the blockchain is completely different and the lead developers of Bitcoin said it's not possible.

Not really. I pointed DRK's dev to the fact that ring sigs create scaling and vast bloat issues that might make DRK a coin that can't be used for mainstream adoption / a DOA product.

He said he came up with an idea to get a comparable level of anonymity without the ring sig bloat that he'll implement in RC3.

Lets assume he can't get the same level of anonymity without ring signatures.

In that case, isn't the bloat worth being the only way to get decentralised anonymity?
You're making the assumption that there aren't any other ways of achieving decentralized anonymity.

Decentralised anonymity has been the topic of discussion since day one of Bitcoin.

Almost all the Bitcoin developers have tried to come up with a solution, the Zerocoin team came up with their idea using cutting edge mathematics and CryptoNote was a genuine surprise, it was a very well developed idea (see their whitepaper)

But the XC developer claims to have achieved the same in mere weeks what many very smart people have been trying for years. CryptoNote took two years to develop, Zerocoin has been under construction for over a year.

But XC does it in a weekend.

That is why I am skeptical, and what the developer says does not sound convincing.

what part are you not convinced about?  I have clearly stated what the current wallet will do and how it works.  Did I reveal the secret sauce? No, thats not gonna happen.  Feel free though to download the wallet tonight and enjoy its features!!!!  If your waiting for NSA proof anonymity - well that is the goal of our REV 2 release..  Grin

1138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC] -POW & 3.33% POS | 3 Exchanges | The first POS X11 Anonnymous wallet!! on: May 25, 2014, 04:31:41 PM
Yes but thats not wallet #2 nor does he have the private keys to that wallet

What is doing the mixing? It's not ring signatures, so what is it?

Who cares that I can't trace 'A' tx output to 'B' tx input due to a mixer? I could do that with Bitcoin today.

What sets the XC mixer apart from a normal, conventional mixer?

Well for starters the details are encrypted to protect identifiable information and no we are not using ring sig's at this time, that is for the next release.

What is encrypted? The transaction is encrypted?

Ok I have no idea what system is performing the mixing in your anonymous wallet, it's really confusing me. Darkcoin has these centralised masternodes, Monero has ring signatures and you have?

Lets just call whatever it is XCMixer for now.

- So I send 1,000 XC to XCMixer. (This is encrypted)
- Now XCMixer mixes the coins with other coins. (The mixer would need to decrypt the transactions at this point otherwise how could it know what outputs and inputs to mix?)
- I receive in a new wallet coins from the XCMixer. (This is encypted)

My confusion is this, what is XCMixer and how is it safe to rely on? Nothing here stops XCMixer from watching all the mixing being done and logging it all.

This was the point of ring signatures, they don't have the "mixer knows all" issue. Even in Darkcoin enough bad acting nodes can cause all sorts of surveillance problems.

Also, how are you going to add ring sig, the blockchain is completely different and the lead developers of Bitcoin said it's not possible.

So yes bad actor nodes are a problem, that is why we are going to offer a better solution in the next release and as you stated ring sigs are not compatible, that is why I said "another solution"

Thats extremely vague, I believe people are asking you to describe the design of how anonymization is to work in XC

Yes I Understand your viewpoint and the quick answer is this = anonymity is achieved through untraceable transactions, done over an encrypted channel using a supernode concept.  All the code was custom developed in house.  That is what today's release will demonstrate.  We will quickly be releasing updates to support multi-path-supernode or go direct to a more advanced solution like ring sigs or some other solutions
1140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC] -POW & 3.33% POS | 3 Exchanges | The first POS X11 Anonnymous wallet!! on: May 25, 2014, 04:13:52 PM
