11221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS ICO SCAM 👺👺👺 Wow! Can you believe this? 👺👺👺 on: August 09, 2017, 06:06:26 AM

I made $3,000 on Steemit posting holiday pictures and recipes. Maybe it's a scam... but then it's a good one!!
It's still a pain to get the STEEM out... "power down" requires 1week wait for 10% of the assets.

Nevertheless, I use a nice Chrome bot to vote and I make $1 to $2 per day... that's $500 per year. Not bad in the end, at least better than POS stuff. (even if I prefer POS pooling... :-) )
Bonus points if you are a girl with "assets": You can make a fortune on steemit speaking about literally anything!!

Back to EOS:
Devs are good
Idea is good

but ICO was shady as hell....

I went in and sold everything. It's overpriced at the moment. Nothing got out of the pipeline yet. I am not a fan of Scam Larimer (as a person): he deliberately downvotes and hides steemit posts which are against EOS: someting weird there... he should not give a sh1t bc he is already filthy rich.

Steemit is not scam but yes, you see newbies with big girl assets they climb so fast for... nothing. Just post a photo and some rubbish. Then you got those writers who work hard for original content got nothing. That's not a scam. Just the way the gamers game.
11222  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin ATM Profibility? on: August 08, 2017, 08:45:05 AM
I don't think ATMs for Bitcoin are very profitable. You always see the news about new ATM's being installed but you never read about them when they close down. I guess people will try it out if they don't know how to exchange or buy BTC but the fees for ATM are crazy. I guess people who invest in ATM business are willing to hope they become recognised more than anything.
11223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Selling ETH, will buy other altcoins, please recommend on: August 08, 2017, 06:06:08 AM
Good choice of alts you've already chosen. Since it's not me making the moves, I would recommend buying Ripple. For the simple reason that it's still cheap to buy and has great ranking. It will move the way of ETH when it gets more and more adoption.
11224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] Looq - Decentralized Virtual Reality Platform (Token Sale Live) on: August 08, 2017, 05:54:43 AM
Was thinking of contributing to this, but I only have monero

Does anyone know how to convert that?

Is there a site that can give you say, ether for monero? Sorry if these are dumb questions

How on earth did you have Monero and not know how to convert it? Haha. Go to coinmarketcap.com. See Monero. Click Markets. And you are given all the places to trade Monero. Yes, I accept Monero tips Wink
11225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: -- Ripple -- Japanese banks will start using XRP this year on: August 07, 2017, 12:04:28 PM
Although banks need Ripple, but remember they only want use a currency stable the price and not have more volatility on market, example as Dollar. So I think the value of Ripple in current is good price, or if this news can make trader on market interesting, they will buying and pump the price of Ripple to around @15k sat - @10k sat is possible, depending their mentality.

I suppose this pump will happen quicker than people with imagine. The Japanese are quite unhappy to take big risks in this market, so it is a little perplexing for me anyway. Either way, Ripple seems to have reached the peak already. The burning question is not a good time to buy...
11226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS ICO SCAM 👺👺👺 Wow! Can you believe this? 👺👺👺 on: August 07, 2017, 10:49:04 AM

Well, that's certainly a more reasoned position than the other guy. My main issue is the use of the word "scam" by others. I don't actually disagree with much of what you've said. However; Steem is literally designed to inflate for 3 years. It's not a store of wealth like Bitcoin, it's merely there to give people voting power on Steemit and you don't need to buy any when using the platform, you get more than enough through posting along with your SBD rewards. Steem is not supposed to be your typical altcoin, yes you can buy and sell it but it's more of a tool.

Steemit is in no way a scam, anyone can sign up for a free account and start earning SBD through writing without spending a single penny.

As for EOS, if the developers run off with the money then yes it's a scam, until then you might call it overpriced, it might be underpriced but people know what they're getting into. There's been no reason to think they are "scamming" thus far, using the correct definition of the word: "scam" rather than it just meaning : "something I don't like."

Steemit was not a scam, Bitshares wasn't a scam and I strongly doubt EOS will be. I think it will be a finished product when the ICO is done and likely worth several times more than the token is now.

Don't worry. Everyone uses scam here easily. A lot of other words used carelessly: blockchain, investment, crypto. Maybe it is unfair to call EOS a scam, but there are many, many causes of concern, most importantly the way the ICO is run. It makes claim to be fair, but is absolutely unfair. There is nothing wrong with building on same codebase, but EOS was not marketed transparently as such - plus, the original comparison showed only minor edits to Bitshare code. That is not worth to justify running a multi-million one year long ICO.

It's not just overpriced - it is just not fair. It is marketed to different music than it is playing.

11227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: EOS vs ETH which one should we buy? on: August 07, 2017, 08:07:11 AM
Long time Ethereum fan here. Still am absolutely bullish on Ether. I like what EOS has to say. I ran their code works from what I can see. Any reason not to buy it on a technical level. I do not really care about the team. Let's talk just about the tech.

Hate to say it, but ETH is better than EOS even if I don't actually like either. You want a tech reason? Google how EOS code was an almost pure copy of the code for the creator's previous project Bitshares. At best, the defence of "we wanted to remodel Bitshares" is ridiculous - does it warrant the ICO for just building on an existing code?
11228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Exchange of altcoins on: August 07, 2017, 07:05:58 AM
Why not try something different. Contact your exchangers and ask if they would like to buy Ubiq and Monero for you at a good IDR price? If you are constantly mining, you might as well sell it at exchanges for USDT or USD if you want to instantly convert to fiat. Find an exchange that can withdraw to Payeer or similar. Then you use that to bank withdraw to your IDR. This is NOT illegal if you declare everything.
11229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buy new altcoins in ICO stage = profit? on: August 07, 2017, 06:05:26 AM
Title.

Basically is this how its done to receive a profit on Cryptocurrency?

or just invest when research and news is done.

Thank you

This is the type of thinking that actually crashed the market, at least partially. Coins like STATUS, BAT, Bancor, etc. Prettty much screwed people over - I myself "lost" a lot of value When the coins I got went down in value a lot.
Its simply not a gaurantee
Correct many altcoins go down in price after the ICO, so for many investors it would have been better to buy after the ICO, but I think this is a consequence of the crazy bonuses ICOs are giving for early investment, someone can buy tokens for a price and receive and extra percentage then he immediately sells for the ICO price to someone else and he earns that percentage as profit.

Big mistakes but ICOs love them because they attract big whales in the beginning:
1. Bonuses. Maybe one small early bonus is ok. 5%? 10%? But 50% is too stupid.
2. Bounties. I have seen 10% of token for bounty. What? They should set aside BTC for bounty and that's it. Don't be cheap and give tokens. You KNOW these will be dumped.

But anyway, people won't be smart. They always make the same mistake.
11230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Problem with ICO on: August 07, 2017, 05:55:35 AM
I personally think that letting the value of a coin fall below the ICO price is a big problem in a ICO. developers should do something about it they always reason that it is because of bounty hunters dumping their coin but for me that isn't a good excuse especially for the investors.

For me The value of a coin or a token is a developer's responsibility, they should do anything to maintain the the price close or even above to ICO price,  because this will be a factor for the investors to get tired in investing they would rather prefer to invest after ICO when the price drastically falls down.

Dev's should place a buy wall when the value of  their token falls 25%-30% of the ICO price in that case the value of the token will be maintained or even go up and they will attract more investors in their project if they will do that.

This is only my opinion, correct me if im wrong. Whether you agree or disagree i would love to hear your thoughts and opinions about this matter.

I don't think you are wrong... no one is wrong in this scene. But you have to understand that price of tokens or alts is purely what the market deems it to be. If you think about it, true development should not focus on price control but on the project. Investors should realise that ICO = guaranteed profit. Price is NOT a concern of developers and should not be. You are talking about manipulation of market by creators, which means the alt won't be decentralised.

But the good point is from bounty hunters. ICOs shouldn't give bounties, or not too much. Less than 1% in my opinion.

11231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: Review my ICO page and get 10x free CMC tokens! on: August 06, 2017, 08:14:00 AM
One big issue for me is the template - very poor choice of free icons and graphics. You will look better just using plain text if you can't afford good graphics. Just keep it simple, too much clutter. I spent 1 minute and still didn't understand from scrolling up and down.

Don't worry I don't want the tokens.

11233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Helping Bitcoin users claim their BitcoinCash! It's worth $687 today! I can help on: August 05, 2017, 06:49:51 AM
Hey Lorilikes, of course we would all like to know, but perhaps should only be shared with gamblers. I am a user of a site you write on the blog for, btw. If you would not mind sharing, do send me a PM for this low fees exchange Smiley
11234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [BRO] [WEBRADIO] 😍 BITRAD.IO 😍 - ICO LIVE - Stream diffrent - Webradio on: August 05, 2017, 06:39:21 AM
Anything happening here guys?
I was an early supporter, but got sad by lack of noticeable progress so i gave up, still holding/staking my little bit of BRO tho! Smiley
Hope in my heart, waiting for the day it blows up Cheesy  I wonder why NO other exchanges have picked this up yet, you think the ICO money could have shaved off 1% for a better exchange listing.... :/
Im still watching this one! You can do it BitRadio! haha

Hey you, progress actually picked up and you can follow in the official forum at the website. This thread is RARELY updated as there are only 2 people working on the project. I am a small collector, just daily listening so like you have hopes. Don't worry about other exchanges. If they list now when it is so unstable, it will get delisted.
11235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: August 04, 2017, 01:26:42 PM
"As of today, we have taken measures to blacklist all addresses associated with the WannaCry attackers that are known to the ShapeShift team, as is our policy for any transactions we deem breach our terms of service. We are closely watching the situation as it continues to unfold as to block any further addresses associated.”

https://www.cyberscoop.com/wannacry-monero-bitcoin/

Umm... is this gentlemen?

Ha, they blacklist the address when it only has 150k left. A little late don't ya think.

Quote
ShapeShift is currently engaging and assisting law enforcement.

“Any transactions made through ShapeShift can not be hidden or obscured and are thus 100 percent transparent, making laundering of any digital tokens impossible,” the statement concluded.

This statement is obviously patently false, once it's a Monero it's no longer transparent and is effectively "laundered".

2 millions would be more then 15% XMR in someone else wallet. I doubt Monero owners are dumb enough for something like that.

Unfortunately I would not be surprised, it seems the more you have is inversely proportional to the amount of effort you put into safe guarding it from some of the posts I've read over the years. Wink

It is easy to make an enormous buy side denominated in XMR with meaninglessly low bids, for example at 1 satoshi. 1 BTC @ 1 sat = 100 million XMR, more than exist.

Yes, I had a brain fart and switched buy/sell sides. I don't use Trex, was just checking out the volume there and mind went boom.

Silly policy indeed. All Shapeshift txs are transparent. Besides, what's the use of blacklisting? They can switch over to other addresses and they can bypass Shapeshift. An honest way is to sting the addresses. Take their money and hand it over to authorities.
11236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ripple back on 3rd place! Bitcoin Cash fell of the cliff! on: August 04, 2017, 01:17:39 PM
Bitcoin Cash did well to get straight into top 5, riding on all the free coverage and insta rich whales. And it will stay high up for a long time. Brilliant move by the BCC people after all. But it's a pure money thing. I'm waiting to see first merchant accepting BCC.
11237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: August 03, 2017, 07:54:09 PM

+1 --> same here  Grin

I also believe that XMR will have a better adoption and use case as BTC. If you look at the xmr.to wallet, which is slightly modified, after you made the broadcast, 3 seconds later you see the payment on their modified wallet. If you try to pay a pizza at your local store with BTC you have to wait until your payment is accepted by a block out ot of the mempool. Last time i did that, i had to wait 1¹/² hours to get one confirmation. If i make a payment with Monero, it takes me like 3 minutes for the first confirmation. I would urge the DEV team to talk to the guys from xmr.to and pickup their modified code for the broadcast check, than you are faster than master card and that's a use case!!!

But Monero isn't about that, otherwise ETH or even DOGE would be just as "useful". Who sells pizza for Monero yet? Monero's last price jump was because of dark market use... I'm actually wondering why it didn't drop when the biggest ones were caught last month.
11238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: BCH can now be shorted on Bitfinex on: August 03, 2017, 02:09:38 PM
Smart move for Bitfinex. Can see a lot of liquidating positions. Short's good long term. And the mad rush will drop it like no tomorrow. But still too risky to do now, wild swings always happen and stop losses will be triggered easily each way.
11239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Lease your Waves to WavesDesk.com and get weekly rewarded on: August 03, 2017, 01:53:10 PM
Can I ask, what does it actually mean when we lease you our WAVES? Are you able to use our WAVES while we are still owning it in our wallet? I'm not sure I understand, what's the difference between leasing and loaning you?
11240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Imminent ICO of Uber-like decentralized “SilkRoad of Sex” from Eros on: August 03, 2017, 10:25:14 AM
This was going to fail from the beginning. Drugs and guns are already hard to get moving, what more sex industry people? Sex trade is highly regulated and everyone will step in. Health issues. Rights issues. Trading people. Toys and products maybe but people? Impossible.
