The fact that it is spreading in Telegram like disease, is a good indicator that we are talking about clear scam cas, plus fake promise of sending 1,000,000 or 3,000,000 coins that don't even exist, and we don't know anything about it.
I wonder who can have 3 million of Libra or 3 million dollars, as it is a future stable coin?

oh my precious non-reversable merit... you can always ask receiver to send you back merits, but I see no point in doing so.

It is not all black&white...
Moderators sholud examine each case and compare good things that member contributed in this forum, against breaking some forum rules. I don't think there is a single person here who never broke even a single rule, including theymos or satoshi.
We have people who scam others or post malicious links. We also recently had one example lunatic humanrightfoundation with his death threats.
Scammers and people like humanrightfoundation should receive permaban, but breaking rules should be with temp-ban, signature-ban or warning before permaban.
I know there will be bunch of higher ranked members who will disagree with me, but this is my humble opinion as an active member of Bitcontalk forum.

Probably because they don't allow to customize fees and if the mempool is even a little bit full, they will make you overpay a lot (and there is nothing you can do other than using a different wallet).
Correct. No way to adjust fee. I used it before few times and it charges highest fees compared to any other wallet I used.

AFAIK, humanrightsfoundation was banned not because he was a scammer or attacked Theymos. I have seen a few people here attack Theymos before and i haven't seen them get banned. humanrightsfoundation went overboard and even started making threats that portray actual violence. Yes this is Bitcointalk but obviously this community does not condone violence and threats. There is a thread in the investigations board: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5179710.0A few quotes of posts he had made prior to getting banned are in the thread and can give a clear picture of what kind of person humanrightsfoundation is. I still wonder if he is a human or super-intelligent being from another dimension of space and time... PS He is not a classical scammer for sure, but it all started with him asking for Bitcoin donations for his 'shady rights foundations' and 'academy' When we asked him few simple questions he went nuts with kill threats. Then he offered 'help' to 'fix, secure and upgrade' Bitcointalk forum software...

Hahaha here is 'El Peligroso' again on CoinTelegraph Lets see if he will mention Bitcointalk forum again.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3bBzdsdLTUEDIT: Nope. But he did say he will be back promoting BTC if developers increase block size...

Yeah I saw that about BcashSV link myself... Can we confirm it is saving page on BSV blockchain or not? EDIT: Confirmed using BSV: https://twitter.com/etchedpageAgain, same misleading tactics from CW as from R.Ver...

Why creating new topic for this, and posting this today about Faketoshi? Have you been living under the rock?

I often use website archiving websites like Archive.is and Archive.orgto save pages or user activity on Bitcointalk forum. I was thinking that good solution would be to use blockchain for archiving pages forever. I experimented with Arweave archiving, and I found one more website called Etched that is saving pages on 'Bitcoin' blockchain (but in reality it is saving it on CW shitcoin BSV) Etched is an internet archive tool that permanently timestamps and stores web pages directly into the bitcoin blockchain. This is a major improvement from traditional web archivers as all etched pages are permanently stored and independently proveable by anyone who has access to the bitcoin blockchain. This means even if etched shuts down anyone can search and view all previously saved data using bitcoin browsers like Bottle. https://bottle.bitdb.network/ EDIT: It is using BSV network, so the whole website is misleading people, and it is NOT recommended!

Well there is no such thing as bad publicity, and hopefully all this stupidity will increase awareness of Bitcoin Talk, and maybe we will get an increase in membership. Maybe Theymos could create a history board - Oh Wait! isn't that the archive. Ver is not doing anything before thinking good...just remember his Mt.Gox video publicity

It makes perfect sense as I myself seen people do it.
Higher ranked members can post that links, and they are reported as you said previously.
|
|
|
'Good' newbies could still report any phishing websites, talk, discuss and share information without posting external links, because some other newbies can click on that same phishing links without reading a warning and became a victims. I am not talking theory, but things that are actually happening. That is why whenever I report phishing or scam website I report it as CODE or without HTTPS/WWW
|
|
|
Please allow me to disagree, as I never saw any newbie reporting phishing websites... even if some exceptions can be found.
|
|
|
4. Disable Newbies to add any external links in posts
It will do seriously harm good newbies. If they doubt a site is a phising one, and they don't have rights to post external link to that site, to ask for users ideas, how the forum can help them?
They can always post website without HTTP or WWW that can't be clicked. And how many newbies have you seen reporting phishing websites? I have seen none so far.
