11261  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I have achieved 500+ earned merit. (Motivational) on: February 18, 2019, 09:21:06 AM
Congratulations. I saw your reputation growing up in the forum, and it was quite impressive.

There are many ways to create a reputation here. I saw you focused on exposing scammers, which is a very helpful attitude.

Not everyone is inclined towards exposing scammers. Others users focused on different topics and may also create a reputation here. Merits are just a consequence of a growing reputation.

Others users focus on statistics, technical discussions, etc... All ways are valid, as long as you do it well.
11262  Economy / Speculation / Re: When Will Btcoin Get Back To $20k up ? on: February 18, 2019, 08:56:07 AM
Nobody knows. Historically bitcoin has always recovered from big crashes

Bitcoin already crashed from $32 to $2
From 1000 to 100 and so on.

There are no guarantees, and the best advice is "invest what you can afford to lose"
11263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is with the BitTorrent thing ? on: February 18, 2019, 08:31:16 AM
BitTorrent is somehow an inspiration for bitcoin. It's a decentralized file sharing service, which is very interesting and have many similarities to ethereum and bitcoin. It was recently bought by tron, so the company philosophy may change now, this is why Vitalik may have changed his mind about it.
11264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Upcoming Constantinople will not have negative security implications. on: February 17, 2019, 06:57:57 PM
To be honest, none of us knew exactly what Etheruem was trying to do. The market has made some pricing considering that a good thing will come, but the explanations so far were always superficial.

It is not possible to understand where this fork process is going. But I still think Ethereum is far below the price it should have been. It deserves higher levels.

Ethereum has a very clear roadmap, many documents made by Vitalik explaining what are all ethereum forks and upgrades, and now you say that "nobody knew what was ethereum trying to do"?

Constantinople is an expected upgrades to allow POS implementation in a near future
11265  Other / Meta / Re: Deleted posts on: February 17, 2019, 06:32:24 PM
Self moderated threads are terrible. I don't post in those threads anymore, unless I know the user and I believe he is not an asshole.

I got many good replies of mine deleted in those threads .

So before click "allow" please read it carefully. Don't install any software from unknown source if you don't know about it.
This is one of the most important habits everyone should have online. Especially people involved with cryptocurrencies.

I always check the site certificate, and if I have any doubts I try to check in Reddit/medium etc for confirmations about what is the official website of the program I want to download.
11267  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Quote notification? 🔔 on: February 17, 2019, 02:47:30 PM
Originally, you can’t. But Piggy created a bot that sends you a Telegram message or posts in a specifc thread whenever you get mentioned or quoted (in case you enabled this).

Check it out here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5023605.0

I just can't use this forum without it now.
I don't use telegram, but I created a thread for my notifications, where I receive them Everytime I am quoted or mentioned. It really helps in communication. Great job done by piggy
11268  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Users from Tunisia can't use binance anymore. on: February 16, 2019, 11:00:38 PM
Wrong, Binance started enforcing KYC on everyone since last few months.
Never heard of that news or announcement before, if you care would you link it here.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/major-crypto-exchange-binance-to-use-refinitiv-kyc-solution-in-internal-workflow

If you are not stupid, you should know how to use Google search.

You are the one looking stupid, as this link you sent doesn't say they are enforcing kyc. Just that they made a partnership to do kyc (which they already do if you want to withdrawal more handsome 2 BTC).

Send a real link or screenshot or whatever, otherwise nobody will believe you. I use binance and they never asked me kyc. I am interested if what you are saying is true, but it really doesn't looks like the case.
11269  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BINANCE - Suspicious exchange behaviour - KYC on: February 16, 2019, 10:56:48 PM
Just logged there and I can clearly see I have 2 BTC withdrawal limit. Did you try to withdrawal?

I used to trust this exchange... Let's see how this goes... At least there are plenty of options in the market if they decide to force kyc
11270  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Users from Tunisia can't use binance anymore. on: February 16, 2019, 08:13:35 PM
I don't know about thes restrictions. However binance doesn't require kyc, so it will be easily bypassed as long as you don't do kyc

Maybe a VPN may be needed as well if you can't log in.

This is not correct. Kyc on binance is not compulsory and you can withdrawal 2 BTC without any kyc.

It's only compulsory if you have more than 2 BTC there.

11272  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling - Eating your Brain and Money on: February 16, 2019, 12:09:28 PM
The worst is when you want to recover your losses. When you are in a bad luck and are not having fun anymore, just give it a break. Withdrawal your money, accept your loss and come back some other day to have more fun.

Don't try to get back the money you lost, or you will end up losing more (probably)

Well, in most cases the people behave opposite to this. When they lose a game in gambling, they eagerly wanted to cover the loss. So they bring more money in gambling with the hope that this time they will win and their loses will be recovered, but then again it does not happen and they again lose. If this happens repeatedly, one can lose a big amount of money in gambling.

Yeah, I know people behave opposite to this. I did the opposite as well, and learned the hard way.

It is possible to make money through gambling. It's hard, but possible. But for me it's just for fun now Smiley

11274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETHERSCAN UI HAD CHANGED AND IT CHANGE FOR THE BETTER! on: February 15, 2019, 08:51:53 PM
It didn't change a lot, but it is much better in my opinion.

I miss better block explorers in ethereum blockchain. We have plenty options for btc
11275  Other / Meta / Re: Modlog for the self-moderated threads? on: February 15, 2019, 06:54:03 PM
I think this would be an interesting log.

If there was some message like "5 posts from 3 users deleted" or something like that. Maybe if you could even click to get more details about those posts, it would be nice.
11276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many BTC Satoshi Nakamoto own? on: February 15, 2019, 04:07:34 PM
There is a possibility about that but destroying the private keys of those wallets does not make any sense or it can make sense if it is lost forever.

Of course it makes sense. If he truly wanted to disappear, he must have destroyed them. Otherwise, if one day he spend it, he could be tracked. Of course he thought about that and destroyed them

If he wanted to accumulate BTC he could just mine them later on, in 2010, 2011 whatever...
11277  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Japan & Africa> BTC-Enabled Remittance Service "BitPesa" on: February 14, 2019, 11:39:34 PM
Without a doubt, remittances are one of the best solutions provided by Bitcoin and the blockchain technology

As I read somewhere on Twitter, bitcoin matters because it allows you to do the transactions they say you can't do
11278  Economy / Economics / Re: JP Morgan’s new digital ‘coin’ is not a cryptocurrency, or even a stablecoin on: February 14, 2019, 10:42:20 PM
I didn't research about this new coin, but decentralization is not necessary for all projects. Let banks and financial institutions use blockchain technology to improve and scalate their services, it will be better for everyone. Like xrp for example (which I believe is a nice project)
11279  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is Quality post really ? on: February 14, 2019, 09:17:26 PM
People are caring about post quality because they want merit to rank up account and get more BTC.

Most of users worried about post quality just want to post anything to get +1post. That's not how things work here anymore. Of course there are many spammers in old sign campaigns, but those users are less and less common nowadays.

Just read more than you write.
Take your time to write posts and you will have a good post quality and get merits.
11280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: There will be many tokens that go to zero. on: February 14, 2019, 07:21:05 PM
There will be? Most of them are already 95% down at least lol

After 2017 when ico crazy was over, those tokens proved themselves to be bubbles
