11261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Is this site legit? on: April 13, 2017, 11:39:09 AM
I don't like the layout design sorry. My other concern is the malware of backdoor virus that can be installed on your desktop once you downloaded and unzipped the files. In the FAQ:

Why should I trust this service?

You shouldn't. The simplest check is to download the original source your coin was templated from and compare the two. Carefully consider any differences you find.

This is the risk. Downloading from an unknown or not trusted site like this one. If may or may not be scam, but its better for as to be careful than sorry.
11262  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia is a potential market? on: April 13, 2017, 11:07:00 AM
Russia is going to recognize bitcoin,so is it a potential and big market? How can I know more about Russia's market?
Yes, Russia would be a big market for bitcoin.Already,a bitcoin exchange is there now which you can find in my signature below.Russian government has decided to regulate bitcoin so that ot could get revenue from bitcoin earnings.Russia is a super power and it would be much helpful for bitcoin progress.Japan, then now Russia have started legalizing bitcoins and it would make bitcoin price to increase more.

Russia has solid user based of bitcoin. Only reason I can think of Russian government is for tax purposes. But it still up to the user to collect report and remit the correct tax to the appropriate tax agency. Another is the KYC/AML rule,.Every citizen should comply with it and complying would make the government track your every transaction. I hope regulating it won't make any difference for the citizen not to used bitcoin in Russia, because Russia is a big market for bitcoin enthusiast.
11263  Economy / Economics / Re: One Reason not to be "All Inn" on any Single Investment for Long on: April 13, 2017, 10:22:33 AM
...

I have long written that diversification is a very smart idea.  No one can predict the future, etc.  But discussed below is another reason not be 100% in ANY investment, at least for long.  I ran into this argument at a gold blog.

Imagine that you are 100% invested, "All Inn", in gold.  Even if the price of gold were to go way up, there is still a big risk that many don't see.  Namely what happens if there is a big price drop JUST when the owner might NEED to sell (eg, an unexpected emergency).  If our imaginary friend bought in at $1275 gold (approx. price today), and then price drops to $900 (Martin Armstrong predicts a sharp price drop like this, prior to a big price rise, a "slingshot" price rise after its initial drop).

And then, just at a bad time for the gold owner, he might need money (US dollars) to cover an unexpected $200,000 medical bill.  And he if forced to sell his gold at a 25% loss to cover his bills...  Ouch!  It would hurt even more should gold then go to $2500 per ounce.

So, it is unwise to be All Inn on gold, even if we were to be very sure that $2500 gold is coming.

The above scenario would hold for Bitcoin as well, or anything else to be held long-term.

Some of us gold owners have a saying: "Protect the precious."  That means keep some powder dry (CA$H on hand) for the unexpected.

Very well said mate. When I was starting on buying stocks, this is the first thing I've learn. You have to spread your investment around so you will not be caught your pants down when the scenario you mentioned above will happened. This strategy is complex to some, but it is simply about spreading your portfolio across several assets like stocks and bond, mutual funds and others. Diversification can also reduce the risk and volatility in your portfolio, But you also need to remember to also hold cash as well, just in case of certain emergencies.

Diversification: "Place your eggs in different baskets."
11264  Other / Politics & Society / Astronomers piece together first image of black hole on: April 13, 2017, 09:51:40 AM
After training a network of telescopes stretching from Hawaii to Antarctica to Spain at the heart of our galaxy for five nights running, astronomers said Wednesday they may have snapped the first-ever picture of a black hole.

It will take months to develop the image, but if scientists succeed the results may help peel back mysteries about what the universe is made of and how it came into being
.
"Instead of building a telescope so big that it would probably collapse under its own weight, we combined eight observatories like the pieces of a giant mirror," said Michael Bremer, an astronomer at the International Research Institute for Radio Astronomy (IRAM) and a project manager for the Event Horizon Telescope.

11265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Supertition on: April 12, 2017, 03:50:26 PM
Gambling and superstition are entirely different. We should not relate them, because gambling is just based on algorithmic calculations and prediction resulting on winning and failure depending upon the luck one holds. Superstition is something out of the world controling us, which never happens with gambling.
That's the real explanation but there are people who really believe in superstitious especially the older people, I have witness that because my dad does not go in cockfighting when the moon is not full, so it is really existing.

LOL. Are you saying that I'm old as your DadSmiley There's also a lot of superstitious believe around cockfighting. Just ask your Dad if he goes to cockfighting specially Saturday and Sunday this Holy Week because this is a lucky day for cockfighters to bet Tongue. This applies to a backyard cockfighting and not the big derbies in the country. (I assumed you are Pinoy dude!!). Do you complain if your Dad tell you that he losses because he didn't follow his superstition?

11266  Economy / Economics / Re: The best time to invest. on: April 12, 2017, 03:12:20 PM
If you have already enough funds in your pocket and you want to earn in a little way or in your desired profit, so this is the best time to invest. Don't do it the other day, don't think twice if the price is good and price is affordable then invest. Because possible you will regret it later.
It still depends on which way you want to invest your funds. For example, you'd like to invest on a investment site then you must know when you'll earn back your money. Another example, you'd like to invest on a certain coin or you'd like to do trading then you must wait for a certain time when that coin's price will go down before you invest into it. Not because you have enough funds to invest, so invest wherever or whenever you want.

That's why timing and your strategy in investing is also a factor to make profit specially in alt-coin market. Just like you said, we must wait for the correct time before buying any of them because alt-coin is a dump and pump market. So strategize, observed then when you feel that the price is already ripe for you to sell, then sold and reinvest your money again. Because in this strategy, you will see that your funds is rolling and getting big, eventhough you started with a small investment only.
11267  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will get half million dollars prices by 2030 : Blockchain.info CEO on: April 12, 2017, 02:11:16 PM
I believe everyone will love this speculation. Read on here : https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/bitcoin-price-hit-500000-2030-says-snapchats-first-investor

They are not just throwing blind balls but come with solid evidences to support their speculation.
bitcoin isnt for mobile small transaction based activities. Its a store of value. 5% of the world population because more mobile phones? Nah. Sry I want to believe but this is going to far. We cant expect an infinite exponential growth for 13 years to come. Everyone who thinks that will get burned eventually. Name 1 thing that you can compare with bitcoin that has a exponential growth for 13 years? Thats right : none. Anyway I believe in Bitcoin but 500 000 USD? Nah

I agree with you. Realistically $500,000 is out of hand. There are definitely uncertainties in this projection and its assumptions. Bitcoin certainly has hurdles to overcome – scalability and usability being two of them – but it has done remarkably well in maturing.

I believe the price of bitcoin will increase exponentially, but not around this price, its not realistic for me, Sorry. We all love seeing and hearing good news like this one come, however, I doubt it can happen.

11268  Other / Off-topic / Re: Smartphones are vital to bitcoin growth on: April 12, 2017, 01:24:15 PM
Yes, smartphones contribute to bitcoin's growth more than we think. What's easier to do, start up your pc to send some btc or just pick up your smartphone scam a qr code and send the tx easily. So more people prefer having bitcoin wallet on smartphone, I do too it's way easier.

It can contribute to the growth of bitcoin. Absolutely. I don't have problems with the used of our smartphones, however, I believed there are dangers associated with it, like hacking and stealing your bitcoin in your wallet.

I know that this will pave a way for a lot of people to used bitcoin as means of on-line payment. But this kind of scenario will also open up a lot of opportunity for criminals stealing bitcoin similar to what ransomware or copy/paste virus is doing to PC. Security will be the main concern for every individual who will used smartphones to do online transaction.
11269  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do We Need To Follow OLD Traditions And Customs..... on: April 12, 2017, 06:15:56 AM
In our culture, it still important to follow our OLD traditions and Customs and I'm still following it up to this day. Because this tradition has help us shape our characters and our attitudes. Others would argue that old ways hinders progress, but how can we move forward it we don't look at the past? Change is good, but my point is  we should accept traditions as a guide because it is there to protect us from making wrong decisions in life.
11270  Economy / Economics / Re: It's Time To Get Painfully Honest: Banks Are Evil on: April 12, 2017, 05:45:22 AM
I think not all banks are evil. Only the top 10 or 12 banks because this banks don't care about ethics and doing financial tactics such credit default swaps, slapping high interest if you are late in your payment and other strategy to milk this customers. A few years ago, I read that a bank has allegedly used tactics to lead homeowners into foreclosures and denied eligible homeowners for loan modifications to even lied to them about the status of their payments.
11271  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-04-11]Cryptocurrency Best Practices Meet Best Response in Poland on: April 12, 2017, 04:58:54 AM
Polish cryptocurrency market welcomes best practices adopted by the government on March 29. Companies in the industry hope it will help Poland get back to being one of the Top-5 markets in the world.

The prospects seem even better than bright. It is always easier to develop an industry when the government supports it. And Polish authorities have definitely decided to promote the digitalization of the country’s financial markets. They even support programs such as “ Paperless, cashless Poland”, which is led by the Ministries of Economic Development, Digital Affairs, and Health, dedicated to supporting the development of cryptocurrency market. There are 13 Streams within the program, dedicated to eServices, eID, eHealth and blockchain/DLT.

The full article: https://coinidol.com/cryptocurrency-best-practices-meet-best-response-in-poland/

Looks like another country found the merits of using crypto-currency and taking advantage of its technology. As the articles have mentioned that they even promoting a paperless society, I know they have already have Blik- mobile payments solution.

And with this news, Polish FinTech companies should be willing to cooperate with the banking establishment, seeing benefits for both parties in such an arrangement like developing other electronic payment and financial platforms. I hope we should see more Fintech startups in Poland in the future.

11273  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Internet Marketing on: April 11, 2017, 03:23:39 PM
if you want to market a product we could use the internet to market products that will be sold, so the internet now more easily and it is easy for the marketing of a product into the market klaien Area.

internet marketing is not easy job, you can very dificult is selling youre product , must have skill selling in online if want succes in internet marketing
if you say is easy selling product, you can very fast to rich you can follow to amazon affiliate(seller) or ebay affilaite, in there much and complete product in you can selling

It will not be easy for you if you choose a product that has been market saturated and has many competition. So should at least research the product that you are selling to see if the market is not yet saturated, otherwise you will be having a hard time selling that product online. Its easy to get products to sell in the internet but if there's a lot of competition, forgot about that product. A sample is "weight loss" keyword, if you want to sell product that relates to weight loss then its hard because there's a little chance of you getting a sell.
11274  Economy / Economics / Re: Do You Think They’ll Use the US Dollar on Mars? on: April 11, 2017, 02:39:04 PM
If the mankind ever start settling in Mars, I think the most important and strong currency will be used in Mars. Also the nation who will be funding for the entire project, will want their own currency to be used in Mars as it will make their currency stronger than any other available currency. In that way, I see no reason why USD would not be used in Mars?

USD is indeed the strongest currency on earth and that should be used in Mars if NASA is funding the project.

The first country that can successfully put a human habitat in Mars should have the luxury to used their currency. USA has started it already so for sure dollar would be the main currency. And with the new NASA bill passed last month by the US Congress which will fund $20 billion allocated for space explorations, which bring more manned missions closer to reality. With that said, I think its possible that the US dollar will be used on Planet mars in the future.

11275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Inspiration on: April 11, 2017, 12:35:58 PM
I think most gamblers would like to buy materials thing if they won. Just like me I would also buy material things as well but this should not be the mindset of a gambler. You should aim to enjoy first and then profit last because if you aim at winning then if you lost you will be frustrated and will try to recover what you have lost. So if very dangerous mindset. Just try to play and if you won they buy the things that you dream. Otherwise if you lost then maybe its not your lucky day and try not recover the money that you have lost and step aside your dream.
11276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If YOU were Satoshi, what would you do now? on: April 11, 2017, 11:23:29 AM
If you were the one, Satoshi Nakamoto
What would YOU do at this very important time with bitcoins life?
I would probably just stay in hiding. After hiding for such a long time, I think that it would just be stupid to come out now. Also, what would coming out now do to benefit him anyway? All it would do is attract more attention and people would start following him and his life would also be at risk. After all he does own 1 million Bitcoin supposedly, but the current amount is unknown.

Exactly, just remain anonymous from the public eye. I will just watch from behind and look at how bitcoin took off and change the economics of alot of people and country. We all know what have he started, its like a revolution so re surfacing will put his life in danger because government might go after him because of his invention. He may have millions of bitcoin or more, but the risk is showing up is far greater than money. He is a truly an innovator for me.
11277  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Removing President Jacob Zuma - South Africa on: April 11, 2017, 10:35:47 AM
This guy has been a disaster for South Africa. He is incompetent, corrupt and extremely arrogant. And in addition to that, he is openly racist and has played a major part in increasing the emigration outflow of the South African whites.

Agreed. I think he needs to stepped down specially the corruption allegations against him. Even the African National Congress (ANC) was also been involved in the corruption allegation as well but denied wrongdoing.

I think he will do anything to hold on to power though. Heck, he can even used the current situation in his country as an excuse to supress the public view against him. I don't know if he is capable of declaring a nationwide Martial Law in SA, but when push comes to shove I'm sure he will, to again supress all public clamour and maybe jailed who he thinks its is his enemies. I hope I'm wrong.
11278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is It Possible To Use Only Bitcoin In Japan? on: April 11, 2017, 08:55:27 AM
No.  There may be a few stores who accept it if you search all over the place, but in practice you just can't.  This is a three-day experiment - what if she had to pay for fuel in her car, or public transport, or even just use pretty much any service, most of which don't accept Bitcoin.

The Japan Bitcoin laws need time to mature and settle with merchants.  The "thousands merchants" that you mentioned don't even accept it yet as far as I'm aware, and even then it won't actually be a lot in the overall scheme of things.

Experiments like this have been done before, with people doing experiments of living on Bitcoin for a week, but that's very hard and if you live outside of a major city you're not even going to be able to eat, let alone live your everyday lives.
Just now,the bill has been passed. It will take some time to come into effect all over japan. For that,we have to wait. But this step taken by the japan government is an eye opener to all other nations.Since Japan,a technologically advanced world economic power has started accepting bitcoins,it has attracted world wide attention towards Bitcoin.

Just like I said before, Japanese people loves technology and look how they embrace bitcoin and considered it legal in their. However, with that said, it will take a while for the Japanese population to use only bitcoin in their country.

We have to remember that Japan has an aging population, meaning there are more elderly folks living as compare to the younger generation. So I think this will also contribute that its not possible to use only bitcoin because the elderly would still prefer to transact with fiat only.
11279  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin price is recovering! on: April 10, 2017, 03:52:34 PM
Good news dude !
Bitcoin price is recovering little by little .
From 950 $ some hours ago to 1066$ now !
Buy now till it's under 1100$.
 https://blockchain.info/markets

Bitcoin now is near close to 1300$ it is 1205$ so far, where I know everybody is watching and waiting for the price increase continuously, Now I can say that after 1 month process recovery from 900$ is now fully recovered. Go Bitcoin, Cheesy

Yes and nobody expected that the price of bitcoin will recover this fast and will touch $1200 once again and now price can continue to go higher in coming days too and if that happens then we will touch the price of $1300 pretty soon.

It has touched $1200 already mate. No one can really stop the price of bitcoin surging. At this rate possible that $1500 could be achieve. The Japanese adoption really took the price of bitcoin in this price and let just hope will continue and I know that all of you are with me on this.  Smiley. Just hold on your bitcoin for now and don't sell yet because if you look at the trend, its going up so holding on it is the best option for all of us. Before we are comparing the price of bitcoin to 1 ounce of gold, next is diamond, $2000-$3000 is worth 1 carat of diamond.  Smiley
11280  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 Bitcoin (2000-3000$) Worths 1 Carat Diamond - Don't Sell Your Bitcoins on: April 10, 2017, 03:22:07 PM
There can always be a time to sell bitcoin, when u have made a good profit in any form of its transactions. Just the news of Japan adoption has raised the value in almost $200 which I am sure had overcome the $1150 threshold for the year. We now have a new threshold price to overcome, $1300. Active trade/transaction in the more 260k stores in the Japan should raise the price by $50-100 in coming weeks if there is no other news.

Japan making bitcoin legal in their also help jump  the price as you mentioned. We are barely in the $1200 price range. Once we touch that price, I personally think that indeed Japan new's is making the price of bitcoin rises. But $2000-$3000 is still far, will take a couple of weeks or even months to achieved that. I'm just hoping that the trend will continue to move upwards so that holding to our precious bitcoin will be worth 1 carat of diamond in the future.
