11281  Other / Politics & Society / Progress for anti-rape laws in Punjab on: April 10, 2017, 02:52:59 PM
A province in Pakistan has made DNA testing compulsory in rape cases, part of ongoing national reforms to improve support for victims

The province of Punjab in Pakistan has made DNA testing compulsory in rape cases. It is part of ongoing national reforms, the Anti-Rape Laws, which also require verdicts to be announced within three months, allow victims to testify via video, and require that female police officers are present during the collection of evidence.

https://www.positive.news/2017/society/26475/progress-anti-rape-laws-punjab/

Although this is good reform to start with, but I doubt is enough for the protection of women specially in Punjab province.  We all know that rape in Pakistan came into international attention after Mukhtaran Bibi survived a gang rape, as a form of honour revenge.

11282  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-04-10]Rogue Indian Drug Agent Caught Stealing Bitcoins on: April 10, 2017, 02:30:07 PM
If you would remember, their is one Indian politician who raised concerns on the growth of bitcoin in their country and wants the Indian government to declare bitcoin illegal their. With this kind of news, justification of such ban will be automatic I guess. But I hope Indian government will used better judgement and be fair in bitcoin because such crimes as mentioned could be also accomplished even with fiat. Bitcoin should not be blamed for such crimes and criminals will always find a ways to commit illegal ways with or without bitcoin technology.

The officer thought that he can get away with withdrawing the bitcoin, but he didn't know that bitcoin is pseudo-anoymous that's why the Indian police traced who withdraw it. Unfortunately for the officer, it was greed that made him to do it. Maybe he was bribe by the accused drug dealers to get the money and split it between the two of them. Too bad he was caught.
11283  Economy / Speculation / Re: Looks like we are going to test $1,300+ on: April 10, 2017, 01:48:27 PM
After so much drop in the price of bitcoins , it is steadily becoming stable and the price is 1100$ which is pretty good .it is advisable that the price of bitcoins would this time would be more than 1300$ and maybe touching 1500$ .you can see the same drop as u have seen before.

i think still very dificult bitcoin price incraese to 1500 dollar
if only 1300 dollar, i think can reach this month, and bitcoin price this now stable in 1200 dollar/bitcoin, not 1100 dollar

it is difficult because it is far away ($300 until $1500) and it takes time for a rise because it is no longer 2011.
other than that there is absolutely nothing that can stop bitcoin from rising. it is going to happen, try not to fall for the FUD campaign against bitcoin spread mostly by those against bitcoin and altcoin pumpers. that is all lie. if you don't accept it now, in a couple of months you will start regretting it.

I hope they will not fall on the FUD spread twice. For those who are, I think you learned your lessons now. FUD in our community will still be there, they are like cancer here, but it's still up to those member to listen to them or not. My advise is to used your better judgement.  Regarding $1300 market price, I think we are going to test it again within a few days or weeks because we are at $1200++. The trend points to the direction that the market price will continue to go up, so bitcoin ecosystem really looks bright in the future.

11285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen if BTC was Banned? on: April 10, 2017, 08:51:49 AM
If any government plans on banning bitcoin within their jurisdiction, I don't think that it would really be that effective since people would still find ways to utilize bitcoin and freely use it even though the government restricts it. Forcing something to the public isn't something that people would gladly accept. Bitcoin will still flourish even with restrictions.
The nature of bitcoin makes it hard for any government to try to take direct action against bitcoin, even if they attacked the miners the only thing that would do is to lower the difficulty and now everyone could mine bitcoin again, so it is a difficult challenge for them.

Bitcoin depends on one important aspect, and that's internet. If you want to hit Bitcoin real hard, then you as government should group up with other governments in order to block all access from and to everything that is Bitcoin related. It won't result in a full wipe out, but the effect will be felt on a massive scale. But I am glad that not every government sees Bitcoin as a high level threat. It considerably diminishes the chances of this to become reality.

So technically, its impossible to banned bitcoin because it will take gargantuan task for every government around the world to put a stop to any thing bitcoin related. But let say they successfully banned bitcoin globally, I think there will still be someone holding bitcoin, but has it has no value. Maybe they would hold in at some sort of memorabilia.  Grin and hoping that one day it will be unbanned and will make fortunes in the bitcoin they kept. Smiley
11286  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-04-08]Study: 43% of Bitcoin Transactions Aren’t Processed after First Hour on: April 10, 2017, 08:18:11 AM
This is disturbing news cause all my transactions have confirmed within the first 15 minutes.
If I put more than 0.0006btc they always do! Wink
The statistics are somewhat significant, but people don't always intend for their payments to confirm quickly.  Some people try to send dust payments through the network with little or no fees in an attempt to get them into a block anyway, and some people send a lot of moderately small transactions which they don't want to put a high fee on and are happy to have confirmed after a few hours instead of instantly, so they shouldn't matter too much.

Exactly. If they want faster transaction then put enough fees to get it confirm right away. Then also don't understand that it also depends on how many inputs, a lot of small inputs equals to higher transaction fees because it has more data. My last transaction that I sent arrived to the recipient within 5-10 minutes so I don't have any issues, I say that this study significant as it is, is completely rubbish. They just make things complicated,
11287  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dice Stettings at 92% Chance on: April 10, 2017, 07:47:06 AM
So I tried this strategy at a dice site and I'm thinking of the odds of winning
So I set the chance of winning to 92% and start with minimum bet of 1000 Satoshis with profit of 76 Satoshis
Now, I could win like 9-11 times in a row, sometimes higher and lose
After losing, what would be the chance that I could lose again twice in a row?
I'm thinking of if I lose with that settings, I could go all-in with higher bet since my chance winning is higher.
What do you guys think?

I have used this strategy before and I must say that it will not guarantee you to profit and maybe loss in the end. You still has 8% chance of losing. Believed me losing twice in a row is possible even if you put 92% chance of winning. I even won more 15x straight and I was happy and increase my bet as my bankroll increases as well. But as the roll continues, I experienced 2x or even 3x losses. So this is not a safe strategy for winning. IMHO.

11289  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Supertition on: April 09, 2017, 03:47:17 PM
I didn't meet not a single gambler who didn't believe in superstitions. People try to get odds and hunts from many stupids things in real life just to get winning stakes. Gambling and superstitions go together in hands in hands though many people deny to recognize that they also do believe in this. When I was doing gambling I went through similar situations many times.

Alas!!! I have found someone who understands that gambling and superstitious go hand and hand. I saw a lot of members here saying that they don't believe in superstition. But I think most of them didn't know that at one time or another, they apply superstition in betting without knowing it. Like picking their birthdate to put in a lotto is already superstition per se. And I'm not saying its a guarantee for you to win if believe in it, what I'm trying to drive at is that you have something to lean on like you are invincible and because of that positive attitude you attract aura or an intangible energy that helps so in a winning mode.
11290  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US aircraft carrier-led strike group headed toward Korean Peninsula on: April 09, 2017, 02:24:11 PM
This is a response to North Korea's ballistic testing in the Sea of Japan. And it has carried several nuclear test that the US says could lead towards developing nuclear weapons that could reach US seaboard. I lauded President Trump for deploying a US aircraft carrier to deter North Korea to further continue testing this nuclear capability. Even Trump says that he is willing to act even without China's cooperation.

Considering all of this, I still hope that war should be averted at all cost because lives of innocent people will be lost. Diplomatic channels should be used instead to prevent the conflict of both nation.
11291  Economy / Economics / Re: Prediction for 2017 - share your views on: April 09, 2017, 01:13:39 PM
Change protocol for bitcoin to have scaling or increased blocksize:
Then price crash down to $260 by Dec. 31, 2017

Change nothing and keep Bitcoin the amazing decentralized immutable pow store of value asset:
Then price will hit above $1,800 by Dec 31, 207

This is a bold prediction mate. I don't think that $260 price is likely to happen even there's a change in protocol as you have mentioned. My speculation is that it will only get into the $700 range. For me $3,000 by the end of the year seems "realistic" but somewhere in the region of $2,000 to $2,500 is a safer prediction. Japanese market flooding the bitcoin ecosystem with cash flow is also a good indication that the price of bitcoin will continue to rise up to the end of the year.
11292  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-04-06]‘Bitcoin Should be Declared Illegal’ Demands Indian Politician on: April 09, 2017, 11:22:37 AM
must be true if an Indian politician said so  Grin
it is common knowledge that politicians don't give a damn about the subject they are talking about
but this dude is clearly head and shoulders ahead-calling bitcoin a ponzi pyramide scheme Smiley
do some research before you make a fool of yourself

And just like any other politicians, this dude is just riding on the popularity of bitcoin. He doesn't know anything about bitcoin. He needs to research more before calling it a ponzi or pyramiding scheme.

At the time, the politician cited unnamed experts to base his concerns of the world’s largest cryptocurrency – now a legal method of payment in Japan – being a pyramid scheme and called for Indian financial authorities to regulate bitcoin.

Why don't he named his so called experts? Maybe his so called experts has used bitcoin in the past as well in ponzi scheme. LOL.  Grin They should follow what Japan did. I think Indians will surely find a way to used or trade bitcoin in the market.
11293  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will we see $1300 again? on: April 09, 2017, 10:36:11 AM
With the issue about BU and forking it will be hard to reach that value again.

I think the whole scaling issue or debate will not stop bitcoin from touching $1300 again. We are feeling the effect of Japan accepting bitcoin legally so the demand for bitcoin has increased. As I have said in other thread, Japan could possible overtake Chinese in terms of bitcoin usage and trading volume in the next month that will push the price of bitcoin even more. Also alt-coin pump is over and investors are going into bitcoin once again so $1300 is close enough. I speculate by mid May or end of May we are going to see this price realize.

11294  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 210: Cormier vs Johnson Info and Prediction Thread on: April 09, 2017, 10:03:48 AM
I haven't watch the fight yet. but it looks like the fight end as what I have predicted, by submission. Based on what I have read, DC took a huge kick in the head and has his nose broken or bleeding. He has a solid chin that has not been crack yet which also help him in this fight. I'll give props to Rumble as well, but DC is too much for him, too bad AJ is retiring already. As for Weidman, yeah I think he's done. He can't compete with the top dogs in his division.  Will try to watch it later and will add my analysis if needed.
11295  Economy / Marketplace / Re: How can we encourage local businesses to accept BTC? on: April 09, 2017, 09:20:25 AM
Offcourse we can encourage local business owners to accept bitcoin by introducing bitcoin to them and making them understand the advantages of it. But it all depends upon the country. Because shop owners are answerable to government officials during the financial year end for the tax related issues. Its easy to accept bitcoin as payment in countries were bitcoin is officially annouced as legal .

One country that legally accepts bitcoin is Japan. As you can see, there's no need to market bitcoin there as Japanese people are accepting it enthusiastically.

https://news.bitcoin.com/japan-bic-camera-starts-accepting-bitcoin/

So you are correct, it really depends on the country if they legalized or against bitcoin. For countries that's against it, local owners or merchants will be facing a huge barrier promoting or accepting bitcoin as payment specially if you have a offline business. On the contrary, if you have a on-line business, you just have to put an option you are accepting bitcoin as mode of payment. Let bitcoin promote itself in your website. Maybe other will be curious as to what bitcoin is, and will probably use it as mode of payment when they understand how bitcoin works and what advantage they can have if they use it as payment scheme.
11296  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Save the planet or not on: April 09, 2017, 08:49:37 AM
Humans ever evolving and improving machinery provided as technology as what we are experiencing right now. Not knowing that these caused the earth severe damage. Global warming, bipolar weather's, animal cruelty, endangered species, human sicknesses are only few drawbacks of this evolution. Of course scientist, engineers, philanthropists are finding a way to lessen the damage caused but I think it up to every individuals on how we will contribute individually to these change. Every act matters.

It is not to late to save Mother Earth and we as individual should change our perception on the environment. This is the price to pay for our technological advancement. Global warming, greenhouse effect and other ills that caused our planet to suffer. Making a difference for the future of Planet Earth doesn't have to include huge life changing choices. Some of the most important things are simple lifestyle changes that, if we can all commit to, will create a huge reduction in our ecological footprint.
11297  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are You Disappointed In Trading? on: April 09, 2017, 08:20:25 AM
I sometimes disappointed if I had to predict a price altcoin, and has been waiting a long time, but the price does not correspond to my estimates. Well, there is always a barrier to trade, but I guess that is the risk of trading.
Yes ,that is one of the risk that's why sime of the traders quit on trading because of wrong predictions and lose in trading . I am also disappointed on trading because all of my savings and earnings loss becasue of some active coins and be dead ,But i guess its not the reason for me to quit trading its just a lesson and learning not to roll all of my balances on trading.
I have lost a lot in trading something which I can't even count and yet I am not actually disappointed but rather I am happy because I have now learnt a lot about alt coins and how the market works. When I was new I was told some idiotic things like if I have huge amount of bitcoins then I can easily control the market ( altcoins ) but with time I have learnt my lessons.

I think one time or another, we experienced disappointment in trading because it didn't work out in our favor. We invest time and money but in the just end up frustrated and so disappointed at time. I also learnt my lessons very well as newbie in trading, not just put all your investment in one alt-coins. But I have to agree to some of comments here that we should not give up and quit trading but rather used all the experience and the knowledge we have gain in our advantage so that in the end, we can get back our investment and more.
11298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin progress in 2017 on: April 08, 2017, 10:38:47 PM
I think bitcoin has good prospects in the beginning of 2017 proved bitcoin prices rose to $ 1,000 or more, this is a good start for the development and progress in the future bitcoin

Bitcoin 2017 year has been great gaining momentum from the previous year. Getting ATH this year is an accomplishment. Experienced a lot of ups and downs, but still bitcoin is standing. Their's still a major roadblock ahead, which is the scaling issue. Debate has been going on, but I hope when the dust settles, we will see bitcoin ecosystem to flourish more. We are not even half of the year, but the price of bitcoin is looking good. We all hope that the price will continue to rise so that another ATH will be achieved at the end of the year.
11299  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-04-08]Media Frenzy in Japan as Bic Camera Starts Accepting Bitcoin on: April 08, 2017, 04:43:17 PM
That's what you gonna love with the Japanese, they are truly embracing bitcoin like no other countries. I hope other country will follow Japan in accepting bitcoin as mode of on-line payment so that we may see bitcoin mass adopted sooner than we think. With Japanese media covering as well, it will reach far because Japan loves technology and innovation there has greater impact to the world. No wonder, Japan will overtake China as the no. 1 country in terms of bitcoin used and trade volumes, so I'm expecting a really bright future for bitcoin ecosystem.
11300  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to spot a gambler addicted? on: April 08, 2017, 04:05:09 PM
It's easy to spot a gambler who's addicted in gambling you will be able to see the person most of the time in a certain gambling place. And you will notice most employee in this gambling place even the dealers and bankers know the person.

beside that that person still using the money which he borrowed from other people if he is out for the money and continue to playing gambling for everyday. its not hard to find or to spot a gambler addicted if we are in offline life because we can see that the same person that will only playing gambling in every time we visit on that place. but its really hard to find someone that have been a gambler addicted in online sites because we are not meet each other.

Yes this is very true. It was more pronounce in a offline casino (landbase) because they are always there playing when I visited a certain casino. I always watch her on how she played or how she lose. But I also notice that their is a financier always waiting for her to borrow her money so that she can continue playing. So I think she is very addicted to gambling. But if you wouldn't know her, you wouldn't spot her as gambling addict because she is well dressed and beautiful maybe she is rich and her past time is gambling I guess.
