11321  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitfinex usd converting scam ! on: December 25, 2018, 11:46:54 AM
i ve sent usdt to bitfinex 2 months ago thinking that they can send wire to Turkey that was possible 2 years ago, but seems like they cant send wire and they dont even say anything about it, i ask them wtf happened to my wire they said oh sorry there is a problem if you want we can give your usd in your account, fuckily said ok, because there was no option, but when they gave back my usd now i cant take them back as i put becuase this fuckboys just put usdt to usd and now converting costs %3-4 .
as a total i lost 700 usd while converting , these fuckers said usd=usdt now change this acording to their head.
stupid scammers  Angry , will going to add their scams to this topic.

Sorry for your lost money.... This sector desperately needs some regulation.

Why didn't you exchange usdt to BTC and sold in a local turkey exchange?

Internacional transfers are more expensive and slow, you should avoid them.
11322  Economy / Economics / Re: Where to sell for cryptocurrency? on: December 25, 2018, 11:12:22 AM

I believe that sooner or later we will come to the conclusion that smart contracts will make such property transfer transactions possible.

Probably later. Smartcontracts cannot interact with any data from outside the blockchain.
The way blockchain is designed does not allow it to interact with outside data. You will need an Oracle for that, and there is no functional Oracle yet.

This is why all smartcontracts for now are icon related, or tokens exchanges (like Dex or whatever). And some few minigames like cryptokitties (cryptokitties are just a different kind of token, erc721)

A land transfer by smartcontract is not possible for now, because land property transaction is not registered in he blockchain
11323  Economy / Economics / Re: Where to sell for cryptocurrency? on: December 24, 2018, 08:48:05 PM
It would be really difficult to sell land now to a non-resident of his country. But at the same time, inside the country, I still admit such an opportunity, when the buyer and seller are sufficiently oriented in the laws of their country.

For example, the land can be issued as a gift, and the cryptocurrency can simply be transferred from the wallet to the wallet.

You are probably trying to avoid regulations. I believe it is possible in some countries, don't know about Russia. but even to a Russian it may be possible. You can announce your land in a local newspaper/website and say that you accept btc?

Your question is similar to stupidity, because it is simply impossible to sell land for cryptocurrency!

It is not stupid. Hr is trying to avoid regulations. He lives in a country where the government is very powerful and the economy is not as Free as in Europe or USA.

11326  Local / Primeiros Passos (Iniciantes) / Re: É possível viver de criptomoedas ? on: December 24, 2018, 11:13:59 AM
Airdrop

11327  Other / Meta / Re: I've stopped reporting posts on: December 24, 2018, 11:11:10 AM

Did I read that it is now possible to view a listing of our post reports. If so, that would solve the problem for me.

You need to make 300 reports to see your reporting history.

Unhandled reports are not ignored, they are just waiting for the moderator (they will be marked as good or bad soon).

I think the word "bad" is too strong, and may be discouraging for the reporter. If it were "inaccurate report" it would be much better than "bad report"
11328  Other / Meta / Re: Top 20 members with Post to Merit Ratio. on: December 24, 2018, 10:35:29 AM
I believe an Activity/Merit ratio would be a much more useful statistics

In this case, even the airdropped merit could be considered, as users with airdropped merit have high activity.
11329  Economy / Securities / Re: I need some advice on setting up a crypto investment club on: December 24, 2018, 10:28:53 AM
I slipped up by not riding the recent rise in Bitcoin. I deposited £100 in coinbase, but I misread the dip, and missed the buying chance. I really wanted the discussions to see if I could avoid making mistakes like that.

I don't think you missed already. BTC is still 4300, which is a 75% fall from the previous ATH.

You will never hit the bottom, forget it. The only way to hit it is if you buy all the way down. Alternatively, the only way to hit the top is to sell on the way up. Personally, even if I hit close to the bottom, I will think "I didn't buy enough. Why did I bought only 100?"

IMO and according to my experience in investing, if you are too worried about the buying price, you will never buy it. Ofc you shouldn't buy any asset in ATH, but that's clearly not the situation now.

There are really nice discussion about trading methods in Wall Observer thread. Like this one by JayJuanGee

What do you do?

Are you going to sell now at 8.000?
Did you bought at 5800 ?

I thought that most peeps here understand my methodology.

In brief, largely I am an incrementalist.  I buy on the way down, and I also dollar cost average buy, and I sell a small amount of the way up.  I sell between about 1% and 1.5% of my bitcoin stash for every 10% that the BTC price goes up, and I use a decent amount of the sales proceeds to buy back, in the event that the BTC price goes down.

I have been engaged in such incrementalism for almost 3 years.  In other words,  before October 2015, I was largely accumulating and dollar cost average buying... I also was establishing my initial BTC stake in 2014, and in a kind of maintenance during 2015, so if I ever sold any BTC for any reason, I would replace such BTC (and a bit more) quite quickly thereafter.

Currently, largely, I do not really change my practice by BIG price moves or make any BIG moves of my own.. so I am constantly selling on the way up and constantly buying as the price goes... I do tend to play around with the increments and the amounts based on how the BTC price is moving, but the amount that I authorize to buy or to sell is based on ongoing similar percentages that I authorize for myself and only tweak in small ways.  Regarding the actual price points of $8,000 and $5,800, yes I was buying all the way down.  Actually, I sold all the way up to $19666 and then I bought all the way back down and was largely prepared to keep buying , even if BTC prices were to go below $1k (which surely seems unlikely, currently).  Largely also I had been selling all the way up through the $6000s until reaching our $8000 of today.. so if the price goes above $8k I will continue to sell, and if the price goes below $7700 or something like that I will resume buying..

This idea is inspired in Rpietila's SSS thread. I really liked it, however I will begin doing that when we reach at least 10k (don't want to sell before).

He's head of IT in a big company (Energy Industry)
~
he just mentionned the fact "I'd like to innovate"...
I think this is a terrible idea! It sounds like a manager who's heard of something and wants it, even though he has no idea what it does and what it's used for.
In general, if you can do something without a blockchain, you should do it without a blockchain.

Ionce heard Andreas Antonopoulos saying exactly that. If you can do without a blockchain, you should do it without.
In simple terms,  blockchain is a slow and expensive database. It is very useful for especific situations

Bimain’s IPO Application in Doubt as Hong Kong Calls Crypto Industry ‘Immature’

Bitmain, the largest manufacturer of Bitcoin mining equipment, is experiencing something of a rough patch, as Hong Kong’s stock market overseers might be reluctant to approve the initial public offering (IPO) application of the company, given their stated concerns about the lack of a proper regulatory framework that can govern the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry.

Per a report from the South China Morning Post, the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX), might not give their blessings to Bitmain, as well as other DLT-based firms, to launch an IPO, arguing that the blockchain industry in the country is still “immature.”

According to public listing rules in Hong Kong, there would be a closed-door hearing meeting with the Listing Committee, which gives the final approval or rejection within six months of filing for an IPO. A listing can lapse if the applicant fails to hear from the Committee within the six months period.

....

Bitmain is estimated to have about a 67% share in the market for Bitcoin mining equipment, and the company generated about 60% of the industry’s computing power. Canaan Creative, another manufacturer of Bitcoin mining hardware, also filed an application in June to list shares in the Hong Kong market. However, the manufacturer’s $400 million IPO application lapsed in November.

If it does not fall through, Bitmain’s IPO would likely set a record for a cryptocurrency IPO. However, it would seem that, considering the volatile status of the crypto market and the lack of a robust regulatory framework, that may not happen anytime soon.

source:https://www.ccn.com/bimains-ipo-application-in-doubt-as-hong-kong-calls-crypto-industry-immature/

If Bitmain IPO would certainly be good for the whole ecosystem, as it would probably call attention of institutional money (all those bankers scum). But I believe they still have a long road ahead, filling all bureaucratic obligations and waiting for proper regulation.

A Bitmain IPO would also be a nice way for traditional investors get exposed to Bitcoin risk/success without owning any bitcoin, but owing shares of a company that operates with it (and would certainly makea huge amount of money if BTC moons and/or get more adoption).

11334  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Giving 6 Newbie Members a Chance to Rank Up To J. Member on: December 23, 2018, 01:04:41 PM
I have decided to open this thread in order to help ONLY Newbie members and give them a chance to rank up to J. Member.

When I saw this thread, I thought "What a great idea, I wil try something similar in my local board"

Then I keep reading it and found that OP gave so far 1 merit...  Probably you will only increase your ignore list lol

Since opening this thread, OP's sMerit stash increased from wanting to Merit 4 Newbies to 6 Newbies. This once again shows Merit isn't scarce.

This. That's the problem, spammers don't want to produce anything, don't want to participate in the forum as real users. They just want to take as much as possible from the forum, without adding nothing to it.

most of the users do not even to spend their time here, reading and writing well...
11335  Other / Meta / Re: Preventing Signature Spammers and Increasing Quality of Discussion on: December 23, 2018, 12:53:15 PM
This would only work if campaign managers were going through everybody's posts and checking what threads they've posted in and discounting the ones with no signature displayed. For most spam campaigns they won't be doing any thorough checking and as long as they've made the posts then they'll get their share. 99% of campaigns don't care what you post or where, especially the problem ones, hence this would do largely nothing about spam other than at best move spam into other threads that aren't 'de-sigged', and there are plenty of those about.

I believe that many of the companies that are willing to promote their companies here in the forum doesn't understand how this forum works. There are not clear and easy to find instructions on how to hire a campaign manager to promote your product.

THen they just hire a shitful manager, who just add the first 50 members that spam their thread (100% spammers).

I believe that if a manager makes a good selection of users based on their merit/trust and not on rank/activity it will be much easier for the manager to control post quality.

Unfortunately, most of the managers around the bounties section are spammers themselves...
11336  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the reason of ETH bull run? on: December 23, 2018, 12:46:00 PM
I wonder what is the main reason why did the ethereum is on bull run? Is it because of the Constantinople upgrade?

I saw no news related to this.
It's a 30% up, but it is not a bull run.

It's interesting to see that ethereum is finally recovering. Ethereum price is still too low, probably because of low Dapps adoption and constant delays in Casper

11338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I Need A Project That Can Take All My $1 - $5 Shitcoins And Offer BTC on: December 23, 2018, 11:22:41 AM
Smiley That's why I stop joining airdrops. Because they give us a mount of coins that is not enough to deposite into exchanges.

You can deposit, but you can't withdrawal lol

That's why i suggested BNB coin.

THere is another thing you can do. Usually XRP withdrawal fee is about 1 XRP (0.3 USD). That's a very small fee, compared to BTC fee (sometimes 0.001-0.002 btc).

So for those small dusts, you can trade them for XRP, consolidate all your shitcoins in XRP and then trade them all for BTC.

11340  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Nobody wins in gambling anyway on: December 22, 2018, 11:47:05 PM
Only 1 people can win over 100 people that gamble at same time , that's why gambling is risky things.
That 1 people are taking money from those 99 losers based on gambling system ( in common analogy )

Yes, you can win but the chance is less than 49,9% so are you ready to gamble ?

High risks, high rewards. Like any investment

You can still have some fun along the way, even if you lose (at least ) lol.

Best thing is too keep just a small part of your portfolio for gambling, because you may have amaziung gains (or loses)
