Hello Manager, I would also like to ask if I have been enrolled, as the new round started yesterday.
11322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS - Asynchronous Smart Contract Platform - (Dan Larimer of Bitshares/Steem) on: July 04, 2017, 06:37:44 PM
I think it's a clever ico structure, designed to channel funds, that would otherwise be trading on exchanges, into the accounts of the project creators.

Ultimately there are just developing software that a third party may or may not launch a platform on.

If people keep sending them ETH during the year, then you can imagine future icos may follow their lead. But the price could plummet if people lose interest over the year. The price relies on more people contributing to the ico every day. And at a price they have no idea of until the end of each 23 hour period.

Oh yes, this was truly brilliant, from the developers. It was so nice to see how they said this was fair and made them look like the good guys. But think about it right? What is this money for? Why the year long drive? It's pretty plain to see that this is driven by money. But who knows maybe this means people can go in at cheaper times and change the way people rush for ICO.

We were in Amsterdam for the first SuperNET meetup and afterwards to the Money2020 conference in Copenhagen. It was a priority and now ca333 is working on the ICO site. It is pretty much ready. Once it is online, it will be announced and people can proceed with the swap.

After the swap time is realized then we will announce the snapshot and the Jumblr distribution. Most people don't know what is going on in the background. James is working harder than ever to get the BarterDEX ready for public use. The rest of the team if focused on marketing, support, testing, and anything in between.

We only need to be a little more patient. I am sure the ICO site will be ready soon enough and we can proceed as usual.

You guys are welcome to join Slack and see for yourself what is happening Cheesy

Okay, I guess I was just late to this small party but I guess if the ICO is still launching then we can still participate? It's a little bit inconvenient to have to go to Slack or subscribe newsletter as that will only let us catch up and not read the back history in detail. But it is where I will go now. Thank you.
11324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH Proof of Stake Reward? on: July 04, 2017, 10:52:24 AM
You should read up this to learn about difference between PoW and PoS (proof of stake) and how it should affect Ethereum. We still have to wait until end of year to see how it will exactly look like, but basically, you still "mine" or mint new ETH, but only with staking your owned ETH.

OK I thought the campaign I was promoting would be the first decentralised exchange but this KMD seems to have some aspects of the same thing in its essence. Can anyone tell where to get latest updates and details (other than from here)? Too late for this ICO.

ICO page is taken down and the website says it is not updated anymore.
11326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS - Asynchronous Smart Contract Platform - (Dan Larimer of Bitshares/Steem) on: July 03, 2017, 06:16:17 AM
Actually, am also very confused by how people are buying them from exchanges at a higher rate than they can get at ICOs. If it's because they're American, surely getting the tokens off from an exchange would be just as wrong, if not even harder. Looks more like manipulation to me.
11327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE ANN] Snapup - A revolutionary way to shop for premium products on: July 03, 2017, 06:02:10 AM
What is Snapup?
For young people aged between 18 and 30, that strive to be on the cutting edge of fashion and technology trends, Snapup is a revolutionary platform that allows them to save between 80% and 90% on the retail prices of all the premium products they love and desire most.  Huh  Huh

So a lot will not be interested on this platform. Including me. lol

I don't see how this is possible. Premium items get snapped up at even 15% discounts... prelaunches, preorders, end of line sales. Even "still-new" or "not unpacked" luxury items already go for 50-60% discount. But how do you intend to give 80 - 90 %?

I mean, great idea, but can't see how it's possible without some ultra secret catch. New economic model? Let's see what this means.

Maybe they will sell rejects of these luxury items.  Grin You'll never know. Very small damage on that item will be overlooked by ordinary persons. They won't know anyway what's wrong with that item. But let's see what items they will sell and compare it to their original price.

That's the type of catch I was thinking of actually, usually common when you face massive discounts like that. I've had poor experiences with discounted "minor manufacturing defect" which does not affect quality, but usually am disappointed (always clothing though). But maybe at 90% I wouldn't complain?

Hi guys, sorry if this is a bad question but how do I add the asset to my counterwallet address? I understand from other types of asset linked on blockchain that we have to "add" the token to the address to be able to see it. So, I found under "Address Actions" the option to "ADD Asset (Token)". But I don't know the details to fill in.
11330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: China Becomes First Country in the World to Test a National Cryptocurrency on: July 02, 2017, 08:59:50 AM
A country that is still experimenting with a Maoist ideology would actually like the concepts of Bitcoin, and perhaps see the benefits of a cryptocurrency. What will always be interesting is to see how they might manage a centralised crypto. Up to now, it is usually the blockchain technology that interests central systems. Russia, China and India will represent more than 1/3 of the world.
11331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple will be the new Paypal in the world on: July 01, 2017, 11:46:22 AM
So, by centralising management, creating more layers using banks, and allowing reversible transactions, Ripple is doing better than other crypto? Isn't the many flaws of Paypal one of the reasons people are switching to crypto? How does emulating and then replacing Paypal make it good news?
11332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: imagine 550,000 ETH dumped in a few hours on: July 01, 2017, 09:30:12 AM
first of all we don't need to imagine it! it already happened once not so long ago on GDAX! about 170 ETH were sold on here https://www.gdax.com/trade/ETH-USD and price crashed down to $0.10 in one hour!

secondly these ICOs never dump all at once, they slowly dump and price comes down slowly too. unless something spooks them to panic dump in fear of losing a lot of money because price is falling or another big ICO holder is selling their coins faster than them.

also (correct me if i am wrong) but isn't there some kind of lock time where the funds stay in an escrow or something before they can access it?

First of all, it's so crazy but we are numb now to this sort of millions people just play around with. Very worrying for crypto, but who knows, I am just a small fry.

secondly, yes, we have seen spikes on ETH even a few months back on polo. ETH seems quite vulnerable to small dumps. Anyway, these ICO owners know it and will only dump slowly, and probably for other alts even to pump those up. And make more!

And lastly, yes, supposedly there are escrows but this is one of those ICO where the escrows are themselves (they have 3 main founders/directors who must co-sign withdrawals). I have only seen one ICO with a third-party escrow (nvo).
11333  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS - Asynchronous Smart Contract Platform - (Dan Larimer of Bitshares/Steem) on: July 01, 2017, 08:12:31 AM
What is surprising is given the performance of Steem and Bitshares after their respective launches, people aren't learning their lessons. Or maybe they all are willing to hold out for the same periods. Can't say.

Are you saying the performances of Steem and Bitshares were poor?  How so?  Their market caps seem to be doing well.  Dan claims that the combined traffic/transactions of Steem and Bitshares surpasses Bitcoin and Ethereum.

What I'm really curious about is the ability to do parallel processing and processing millions of transactions per second.  Parallel processing on a single computer is difficult to do, even for Microsoft, which has thousands of programmers.  I would imagine that this would be an order of magnitude more difficult to do on distributed nodes.  This has never been done before.  It's not like emulating how UNIX did parallel processing into Windows.  I don't know how a small team can pull this off.  And there is no good explanation of how they can do this on the white paper.  Am I missing something here?

They were poor from the moment they launched, take a look at Steem anyway and see that it has needed centralised intervention to manipulate its prices - the internal mechanism for one, and then hard forks which happen when the owners deem fit. Yes, it is performing well now but it is just reliant on actual pumps. And market caps of course... txs of Steem are happening just by using it. But how much is this is actually used to buy and sell like BTC? Coins that have much more practical use have far less the tx rates of Steem but that's just because of how Steem is used, paid out, exchanged.

Thank you Edwarded for managing this campaign and giving us the opportunity. Good luck to NVO also, especially for those of us who participated. Very, very excited to the next milestones. Cannot wait to get myself on to the NVO wallet!
11336  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Best trading platform for an european? on: June 29, 2017, 06:07:44 PM
Hopefully, with the concept of decentralised exchanges coming about, we will have a better alternative to all these centralised exchanges. I understand the need for verification if only to solely survive as a business entity in the real world... but no exchange can handle customer support required, or have trained staff to deal with the fraud that it will of course attract.
11337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS - Asynchronous Smart Contract Platform - (Dan Larimer of Bitshares/Steem) on: June 29, 2017, 03:56:55 PM
I just read the white paper.

It does not provide a good technical explanation of how it will process in parallel and how it will process millions of transactions per second.

Does anyone understand how they will be able to do this?

I don't think anyone really does, and I don't think any of the major (or minor) investors truly do. What is surprising is given the performance of Steem and Bitshares after their respective launches, people aren't learning their lessons. Or maybe they all are willing to hold out for the same periods. Can't say.

Nice to speculate on how much we could earn, but I feel even the numbers used are far too high for a new service that will really take patience. I might even say a lot of patience. Weeks at the minimum to see the first gains. But I hope to be proven wrong!
11339  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We can't buy something with Bitcoin quickly on: June 29, 2017, 10:14:23 AM
if a merchant collaborate with certain wallet to make a deal to secure an unconfirmed transaction it might could solve the long time transaction confirmation. just like what fortunejack done , the partnership between them allows players to play immediately , more info you can visit the site and you would know.

Exactly. There are so many bitcoin sites, gambling ones especially have a high majority like these, that are very happy to let you deposit and see a balance instantly. Or, even some will show an incoming balance so you can start playing or using the funds immediately. It is only when items are exchanged for it, or you want to withdraw it that confirmations must happen.

This was a very good project to watch, keep track of and discuss. And imagine that the important and more interesting things are still not done yet. Can't wait for the wallet to be working... I am quite worried about my addresses in so many places including counterwallet - I just want one last wallet solution.
