11341  Economy / Economics / Re: panic selling on: April 01, 2017, 08:08:52 AM
I can not understand why now the price of bitcoin so much fluctuates. Panic can not last so long. In general, we see a sharp drop in the price, which lasts 2-3 days. This happens because of bad news. But what is happening now I do not understand

There is no panic, neither panic buying nor panic selling as of now

What we have seen during the last week is actually the trend going sideways. What you consider as price fluctuations are normal given the current price (i.e. over 1,000 dollars per coin). With higher prices there will be higher price swings but they should still be considered as mostly sideway movements. Basically, this is a period of consolidation that typically means that the price is going to move further where it was going before. This time it should continue rising unless we see some major negative news or a new tsunami of FUD starts from whoever may be interested in it (BU supporters, world government, aliens, or whatever)

Agreed. I think panic buying has discontinue for now. BU FUD who seems to be obvious here, has become quiet. What we are seeing for me is the correction price of bitcoin at $1100. It will continue to rise in a steady manner, which is really good for the bitcoin ecosystem. We don't want to higher price swings because if this happens, they would be an equal price dip as well. BU vs Core split has simmer a little bit, so we will enjoy a price rise for a bit until another FUD is being spread out in our community.

Who Should Decide For Bitcoin: True Decentralization Need Not Be Absolute

The current Bitcoin scaling conflict boils down not only to technology but also to money, politics and the understanding of democracy in the crypto community. Both factions are claiming that the other one is trying to prevent Bitcoin’s growth or take it under control. There are also theories abound that insist the opposite side is waging an information war, secretly funded by big money (Blockstream for SegWit and Roger Ver for BU).

The understanding of democracy is also very important. We wrote how a fork of Dash, PIVX, have embarked on a project that they claim will achieve absolute decentralization within the DLT community. They believe that Satoshi’s original intention was a community where millions of individuals would be mining away on their GPUs, thereby suggesting how to achieve an absolutely democratic community.

Who decides for Bitcoin

In the various DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology) communities currently in existence, power and control appear to have become partially centralized. This is evident by the existence of massive mining farms in the Bitcoin Blockchain technology and the systems of masternode acquisition in other communities like Dash.

The power to vote on any new development within these communities, therefore, is determined by the extent of hashing power or masternodes controlled by members of the communities. This implies that the decisions of the few miners happen to override whatever the larger population may want within the community.

Hesham Rehman of Bitxoxo says:

Some communities and big mining pools are trying to control Bitcoin but I think they will fail.”]“Some communities and big mining pools are trying to control Bitcoin but I think they will fail.

He explains: “Though I would refer to Bitcoin as a technology rather than just a currency, like every technology needs some upgrade from time to time, Bitcoin Core would also need some upgrade. Like in previous days we saw BTU fork. But I think that the change in Bitcoin technology should take place considering the opinions of the global Bitcoin community rather than imposition by a group of people.”

11343  Economy / Exchanges / Re: I have an admin account on btce on: March 31, 2017, 03:27:50 PM
Hmmm your first post here is about getting an admin account on btc-e? is this correct?

Quote
im having a hard time here deciding whether i should take the bitcoins and run OR tell btce owner that theres 3210 new admin accounts on his website and a password glitch and get a reward.

Why are you having seconds thoughts in telling them? Tell them ASAP and they might give you a reward.

Quote
not to be worried id im promised a reward ill give them back,  im not a criminal or a hacker,  but this is a perfect opportunity for me to get a  better house.

There you go. Those btc are not yours, so it you take it something that does not belong to you in a way that is wrong or illegal.

Quote
so i need ur opinions,  should i take it all or take some for myself out of personal storage or demand a reward?  please help,  im not a criminal.

You don't need the opinion of our community member here. This is stealing and its illegal. You don't need others to tell you that.

And I don't think btc-e is stupid enough to make this kind of mistake and to let you or your friends create admin account there as easy as that.

Federer ahead 5-3 in the third set may lose in  the tie-break, but recovered from 6-4 to win 8-6.
Now another epic final Nadal vs Federer is closer!
If this will be the final, Nadal may take his revenge
Yes , even I am thinking the same . It will be hard for Federer to reach finals when compared to Nadal because Kyrgios is a much better player when compared to Fognini . Nadal will reach the finals but Federer has to play really well to beat Kyrgios and make it to the finals. I am placing my bets on Nadal to win this tournament.

Nadal has more chances to reach the finals as compare to Federer. Of course we love to see those 2 getting in the finals again. But Federer game is not as sharp lately and I think he's body is aching and he needs rest. Nadal lead Fognini head to head, although this one will be a close finish, I think Nadal will win against the Italian. As much as I want to see Nadal vs Federer for the trophy, I'm leaning towards Nadal vs Kyrgios for the finals.
11345  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Peers, more than teachers, inspire us to learn on: March 31, 2017, 02:24:18 PM
Because peers share a similar discourse, allowing for greater understanding. And their peers are the people to whom they associate through daily interaction of the course of their years together and the acceptable social norms are taught and fostered. So it really has a significant contribution specially in learning or education. I think we can all relate to this during our educational years. We band ourselves with our peers and friends and together we learn not just in education but other facets in our life as we grow along.
11346  Economy / Speculation / Re: Almost 1,100 on: March 31, 2017, 12:45:06 PM
Its been more than a week since the OP open this thread. And it looks like we didn't see a price jump since(still almost $1100). Looks like  this is a correction price right now. But I still feel confident that the market price will rise in a few weeks since FUD has become quieter as well and the BU hard fork has lost its momentum. So let just commit ourselves to get some bitcoin because the price is still good to buy and hold in for the long term or at least the end of the year and see profits.
11347  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Duterte is most genius leader in the world agree? on: March 31, 2017, 12:11:05 PM
I agree maybe he is, he had done many or made laws to the country because he could fight against drugs he has no fear to war about drugs,he could talk to Russia president to join their forces.I know people in the Philippine support him very much..

The support levels may not remain constant for long. For example, Barack Obama had a very high approval rating when he took office. It declined to around 45% to 50% by the end of his second term. Putin is the only exception. His approval ratings have remained in between 65% and 85% for the last 18 years.

Duterte will remain a demi-god to the Filipino populace. But the question is how long can President Duterte sustain his status depends largely on the time when Fiipino people realized that the development of the country demand more than just a charismatic talk to put food in the mouth of hungry and poor families. In addition, it will be in the best interest of populist movement to understand that the President needs to strengthen the Philippine democracy rather than undermining its democratic institutions.
11348  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: you need to overcome your fear of losing money on: March 31, 2017, 11:40:37 AM
Losing is part of successfully trading. If you treat losing as part of trading then you are an experienced trader.

I agree with OP, losing is part of success and it's part of trading. If you haven't experience to lose in trading, it's impossible.

Most of the traders are experiencing lose, it may not be daily but for sometime we will experience it.

Even the very professional traders, they are not exempted with lose and if you overcome the fear of losing.

It will make you grow and your own your way to success.
Losing is part of trading as well gambling, how professional you might be the loss always accompanies with it. To overcome the loss only way is to be active with the market moves. Without expecting big trying to make profit out of the small price variation makes trare avoid losses.

Yes just considered losing part of the game. Just don't get frustrated and its really hard specially for beginners and you might to give up already. But you also have to spend time and ponder because even the greatest of investors experienced loses. Its how you battle the worst market that throw at you. You have to lost some money on the way to earning tons of it. Then it will be sweet feeling knowing the roadblocks that you go through at the end.

Utah Jazz 01:00 Washington Wizards
Golden State Warriors 02:30[/br] Houston Rockets
L.A. Clippers 19:30 L.A. Lakers

Portland getting its 5th straight win over Houston. I think they are the hottest team for the month of March. The win also put them 1.5 games ahead of Denver Nuggets for the 8th and last playoff spot. Nurkic totaling 19 points and 11 rebounds to help Portland took the with the win. Lillard also has a nice game with 12 points. This is the 2nd loss in a row for the Rockets after a 4 game winning streak. Next stop is against the Warriors again just 3 days after losing to them at home.

11351  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What do you think to the president of the Philippines? on: March 30, 2017, 04:43:57 PM
Duterte is currently leading the time poll. http://time.com/4707432/2017-time-100-poll-results/

The lead will change, as time progresses. And last time, it was the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who won the polls. Donald Trump came second. It is not surprising. All these leaders (Duterte, Putin, Modi, Trump.etc) have been vilified by the mainstream media, and this has provoked a backlash from the normal people.

Duterte= is killing citizens to fulfill campaign promise (crackdown on drugs)

Modi= is starving citizens to fulfill campaign promise (crackdown on black money)

Trump= is dividing citizens to fulfill campaign promises (crackdown of immigration)

Putin= Putin.

See a pattern? These seem like leaders obsessed with their own rhetoric, at the detriment of the citizens.

I disagree with you on all these. Duterte is fulfilling his promises. I don't support the mass-murder of so many people. But there was hardly any other option. Modi stamped out black money through his demonetization exercise. Opinion polls suggest that more than 80% of the Indians supported this measure.

I agree with Sithara. Not everything is the president's fault also, there are just some things that he says that makes it hard to understand, but if you carefully think about what he says, it makes sense. There is a survey that people started to feel safer on the streets compared to the last administration, which is an achievement so it's cool.

At least Duterte has the balls to to fulfill what he has promise, unlike other Presidents, who once get elected forgot all his campaign promises. He just  inherited the past administrations problems and now trying to fix things which he didn't started at the first place. But being the President now, he has nothing to do but try to straighten things up. For him, there is a difference between killing an innocent person and killing a criminal. We may or may not agree with him, but I believe that those who are guilty should be punished, however, due process has to be observed. We need to live in a world governed by law.

Bitcoin unlimited Supporter Jihan Wu Feels The Economic Majority in Bitcoin is Irrelevant

Jihan Wu has successfully shocked the bitcoin world once again by making a rather controversial statement. In his opinion, economic majority is irrelevant. That statement is not entirely surprising, considering how Wu supports Bitcoin Unlimited. Ignoring the economic majority is not a valid option by any means, though.

If there is one thing the bitcoin scaling debate has made abundantly clear, it is how Bitcoin Unlimited fails to gain economic support. To be more precise, exchanges, wallets, and other bitcoin service providers do not see Unlimited as the official bitcoin. Instead, they might support BU as an altcoin, effectively reducing its chance of success. Then again, that was to be expected for a proposal that wants to fork bitcoin.

Jihan Wu feels the economic consensus shouldn’t matter in the scaling debate. That is quite an odd statement, considering bitcoin would not be where it is today without service providers and users. Unfortunately for Bitcoin Unlimited, the majority of bitcoin users doesn’t seem to like this project by any means, and it is doubtful they will ever support it. Without the users and anyone else who is not a miner, bitcoin has very little value.

11353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Need help from Indian bitcoiners: Sign the petition to announce bitcoin as legal on: March 30, 2017, 03:23:07 PM
Announce bitcoins and cryptocurrencies as legal

Recently, there have been a few media reports that bitcoin has been declared illegal by the Indian government.

Bitcoin is not illegal as per existing laws. As per media reports, a parliamentary committee is setup to look into the future legality of bitcoins and cryptocurrencies.

Please sign and share this IMPORTANT petition and make your voice heard. We will collect your signatures and present before the standing committee.

Together, let's make India a global fintech hub.

Click here to sign the petition

We can try to do this one and and this is a small and easy thing to do to make a statement to the government. However, I don't think that the Indian goverment doesn't care about the petition. It will just add fuel to them to regulate the bitcoin is India. India is turning a blind eye on bitcoin, and will surely miss bitcoin in terms of online payment method.

I read that there is a virtual currency club or association in India which aim is to lobby government to recognize bitcoin trading? Any news about them?
11354  Economy / Economics / Re: Can we Manipulate Bitcoin price? on: March 30, 2017, 12:11:07 PM
Every transaction moves the price but only the heavy hitters move it to any noticeable amount.

Exactly, big whales does and capable to make the price move like if they sale they hold coins for sure the value will gonna crashed down and so if they purchased and buy coins the value will rises again. We hope big whales continue to hold theirs and buy more.
if the user is increasing over time and bitcoin users have been very large then the great whales would be very difficult to make price changes even each of them to do something
As time passes and more people get into bitcoin then it becomes harder for the whales to manipulate the price as easily but at this moment there is no denying they still hold a tight grip on bitcoin since they still hold lots of coins.

For me the whales will not simply go away from bitcoin ecosystem they are going to stay at the background and grab every opportunity to gain huge profits. While bitcoin's volatility provides opportunities for small time traders like us, imagine how big whales will take advantage of the situation, thus manipulating the price of bitcoin. However, if we, the bitcoin user base keeps expanding in the future and help improve trading volume, then the market price of bitcoin will be less dependent on speculation and would make it less influence by those whales out there.

Mr Taaki told the BBC he returned to the UK from Syria in 2016 and has spent the past 12 months on police bail

Lolwut? Is this the first anyone has heard of this? Was wondering what happened to this guy.

11356  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Mistakes in trading that lead to loss of money on: March 30, 2017, 10:11:28 AM
I am not into a trading right now,
But I guess the mistakes that a trader could do that could lead to loss of money is panic selling and also expecting to much for some alt-coin price to pump.
Yeaaa it was fundamental mistakes too quick make decision to sell while the price fool you to skyrocketing.
But also you should be careful overconfident to not cutting lost while waiting the price to go up but it is keep dropping instead.
The key is you have to monitoring it all the time closely and always take it as serious business.

Exactly. When you see that the market price of bitcoin dive, we panic right away and sell it in fear of losing your investment if you hold on it. But i think you should do the opposite, you should continue to buy when the price of bitcoin nose dive and hold on for the long haul even if the price continue to drop. And for sure, when the drop of bitcoin rise again, you will get a good amount of profits in the long end.
11357  Economy / Economics / Re: panic selling on: March 30, 2017, 09:40:44 AM
What if somebody will make a huge dump and sell it all the way to earn some profits because of this rally in bitcoin, and someone sees it and do that same thing. Is there any effect on bitcoin when someone to this,?
Well the price would surely decrease in a huge amount of price,
And I think that is what we all hate when there are so many people who is having a panic and selling all of their coin,
But I guess there are others who really wants that to happen to gain some profit cause while the price is in low they will surely buy some and pump the price back up again.

We can't blame those who panic and sell their bitcoin. It is typically driven by FUD, so what we can do is to use our decision that is based on careful thought and one should not be driven by fear that the bitcoin ecosystem will decline. Yes, we don't like this wide scale selling of bitcoin, but for some this is taking advantage of the system to turn a profit. Typically, large investors or whales who try to manipulate the price of bitcoin because of the desire to maximize their profits.
11358  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction. on: March 29, 2017, 01:05:19 PM
Why is someone get addicted to gambling once he gamble ?
It is because in gambling there is a big jackpot, when you become a player in their site which you are able and have a chance to win that jackpot. So they are relying to hit it and become an instant millionaire. Quick money in their mind also quick losing in their pocket too, but they didn't noticed greed is one of the tools why they became addicted.
That's what all gamblers mindset, is to win and to hit the jackpot for them to become an instant millionaire. For me those kind of people mindset   are relying their fortune into gambling. Which actually a kind of stupidity. They can do hard work, but not in a terms of doing work hard in the gambling site from time to time.

Its really hard to understand what is inside the mind of a gambler. They always have eyes for the a big jackpot and are will to take the risk just to take that easy route to earn big money. For them, you win some, then lose some. They have grown your money, then it begins to shrink, but still at the back of their mind just one more win and they can win it all back and more. Such is the hope of the gambler. The next game could be the big win. Just one more. But just like any other game, you loss it all at the end.
11359  Economy / Marketplace / Re: How to make 1 bitcoin in a month or 2? on: March 29, 2017, 12:03:53 PM
Having full btc in wallet is a dream of each and every bitcoin user but its not easy to earn it quickly unless you  gamble with your bitcoins but the risk of loosing is even higher in bitcoins but getting to that amount is possible if you have good capital to invest in trading.

Yeah. Its hard to have a full btc in my wallet as well.Gambling for me is out of the question now. I would rather trade than put money on gambling. I think its possible to earn 1 btc a month for some specially for highly skilled trader here. As for those skilled worker, its possible to earn 1 bitcoin or more as well. Its just a combination of opportunity and skills that is match against an job opening. There are lot of opportunity to get 1 bitcoin a month, you just have to got skill to either trade or do freelance.
11360  Other / Politics & Society / EU summons Filipino envoy to explain Duterte tirade on: March 29, 2017, 11:13:38 AM
MANILA, Philippines — The European Union on Monday summoned a Philippine envoy to explain an expletive-laden tirade by President Rodrigo Duterte, who threatened to hang EU officials for opposing his efforts to re-impose the death penalty.

The EU's external action service, the equivalent of a foreign office, said it hauled Charge d'Affaires Alan Deniega in to its Brussels headquarters to provide "an explanation for the recent, unacceptable comments of President Duterte."

The move highlights growing European exasperation with the president. Earlier, the EU denied his allegations that it proposed solving the Philippines' drug problem by creating treatment clinics where illegal drugs such as methamphetamine or cocaine would be dispensed.

The EU Delegation to the Philippines issued a statement saying it has not "suggested, discussed, proposed or considered the use of any substitution drugs when treating addiction to methamphetamine ... or any other drug addiction in the Philippines." It did not mention Duterte by name.

Duterte, who has lashed out at the EU repeatedly for raising human rights concerns over his deadly crackdown on illegal drugs, said in a speech Friday the EU had proposed a "health-based solution" to the drug problem that involved dispensing methampetamine, locally known as shabu, cocaine or heroin.

He branded the supposed EU proposal a "government-sponsored idiotic exercise."
