11361  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bought Account on: September 13, 2017, 06:59:25 PM
Account dealing on bitcointalk promotes scamming, because you can buy an account with green trust and the victim would have no idea that the current owner of the account wasn't the one who earned the trust.

Account sales also encourage spam, because  knuckleheads who can't write English buy accounts to get into sig campaigns.

And so on.  So there are a number of us who feel strongly that it's untrustworthy behavior and leave feedback accordingly.
Although your points are correct in relation to a lot of bought accounts on this forum, they don't relate to every bought account. Some have great English skills and provide a good service. I think that we can all agree a newbie account with 1 post wouldn't be getting hired over a legendary member. Also, many people don't have the time to build up an account.

To add, the buying and selling of accounts is allowed on this forum. Even if it is looked down upon.
Nothing is ever 100%. Sure, there could be some outstanding posters who bought accounts, but I don't know who they are.  That's rare. Most common is the use of a bought account by some lazy third world scunt who only wants to shitpost or scam. Can't tell who's who ahead of time, so I neg 'em all.  I have removed negs in the past when someone turned out to be OK--my ratings don't mean much anyway as I'm not on DT.
11362  Economy / Reputation / Re: Gameristo..what are you doing, bro? on: September 12, 2017, 11:50:54 PM
he's sent me messages as well, even after explicitly stating that I didn't need a trade. I've left a screenshot as reference to a rating on his profile of the message he sent me if you care to see. seems like he does this with everybody though, judging from the ratings on his profile.
also for screenshots, try out sharex, makes it real simple and uploads them to imgur for you as well.
I haven't even looked at his feedback lately.  I did figure I wasn't the only one he was spamming with requests.

I have a concern about the multiple PayPal accounts and why anyone in their right mind would send PP funds without any agreement being made beforehand.

Right now I'm not concerned about the screenshot thing, as he's not claiming I never returned the funds and hopefully he'll come here to verify it.

The whole situation is bizarre.
11363  Economy / Reputation / Gameristo..what are you doing, bro? on: September 12, 2017, 09:43:00 PM
I did a PayPal deal with gameristo a couple of weeks back.  My bitcoin for his PayPal.

He sent the PayPal funds through two different accounts, which I found suspicious.  The accounts had different names.

Then today, he sent $170 PayPal which I did not request, from yet another PayPal address, along with this PM:

Hello Friend

now I have got 380 USD paypal balance in new paypal account so I sent you some funds as below
You've sent 170,00 USD to belowthepovertyline@gmail.com

please accept payment even if you have NO any more coins right now and I am fine to wait some days like 2 to 5 days or bit more time before you able to pay back me any coins also its fine if you can pay back me in parts like 0.015 or 0.02 btc each time etc'

and remember that I always fully responsible for my any paypal payments and some time my sender paypal change but still 100% clean legit funds and I always ready refund back ur coins if even any issue you found in my payment

so please DO NOT refund and just keep or use funds yourself or cash out to your bank etc and I can wait until you able to pay back me coins

you can transfer back coins in parts to my old one btc wallet address as mention in my profile

please first update me or ask me before do any action about paypal payment accept or refund etc and do not do any action so fast without asking me first

waiting for your friendly response back

Regards

I bolded the above part.  I then sent him this PM:

Please don't send money to me again without a prior deal.

I don't have $170 in bitcoin at the moment, since I just bought something with what I had.

I will send what you sent me right back to the account it came from.
And I did refund the $170 right back to the address he sent it from.  If I was computer-competent enough to know how to do a screenshot I would include it here.

I don't want to be involved in any money laundering, which is why I'm not sending the money to another address.  I'm not calling him a scammer, but this is bizarre behavior at best.

11365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Trading, stockpiling or ICO on: September 12, 2017, 06:06:47 PM
Trading is very risky, and I suspect that most traders lose money doing it, especially in crypto.

If I were you, I'd quit trading and just hold bitcoin.  Trading=gambling, and it can be fun, but it's based on luck more so than skill.  But do whatever you feel comfortable doing.  It's your money.
11366  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk forum outdated and lacks mobile support on: September 11, 2017, 11:24:34 PM
The current layout is comfortable and easy to read, so I hope it will always be an option. I view posts on the same computer that I use to run my node, so moving to a mobile is not an option for me.

Similarly I don't have any issues with the current layout, everybody is different though. theymos can't please everybody, will always be some disgruntled users.
I don't have problems with it either--but I would definitely appreciate a mobile-friendly upgrade.  I don't think Theymos gives a shit about the quality of this forum, though, and not just the outdated features.  All those donations went to what, exactly?  That's a genuine question.  There may be legitimate uses for the money I'm totally ignorant of, but we've been hearing about this "new forum" for ages now, and meanwhile the forum has turned to shit because of shitposters.

OP, you're on the money.
11367  Economy / Economics / Re: get the same opportunity on: September 10, 2017, 03:02:49 AM
in this forum we have the same chance to be able to get bitcoin even with different background and skill.

which is my question is why at first when we first know our bitcoin eagerly surge, day and night are always online, but when it reaches the level of senior level member it is saggy, what tips do you use so we keep the spirit in collecting purse bitcoin purse?

I understood the first part of this, but not the second--at all.  It's a bunch of jumbled English that I can't decipher.

And we're not all equal even though we all like and use bitcoin.  Some of us are much more skilled and can leverage those skills to buy or earn far more bitcoin than others.  There's no equal footing guaranteed in this world.  If you think that, you're delusional.
11368  Economy / Economics / Re: Condos in Dubai for sale in Bitcoins on: September 09, 2017, 09:45:45 PM
But, they do not really sell it for bitcoin, because Bitpay will convert bitcoin into fiat currency and give it to Asto plaza devs.
Through a partnership with Knox Group (http://knoxgroupplc.com/) and the bitcoin payment processor Bitpay (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BitPay), a selection of 1,133 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments, ready for completion by September 2019 will be sold for bitcoin.
Not in 2017, but have to wait for another 2 years which bitcoin price may reach new ATH. Yes, there is probability bitcoin will go down, but the chance to rise up is bigger obviously.

Currently, studio properties will have a starting price of 33 BTC, and the real estate agency says early investors will get additional benefits. Additionally, packages of interior design services and furniture can also be purchased using bitcoin.
BTC33 today worth over $151,000. How if bitcoin rise to $15,000 in 2019? It's not worth to purchase it right now.

I have to agree with you. Looking back on some of my transaction history now, I feel foolish for sending around .01 btc to test out random sites and whatnot. Even though it was just 10$ a while ago, now it's a whole 50$. 5x the price it was before....

I think with these things, bitcoin is a gamble for both sides. The price can rise or fall and someone will be at a loss through this deal.
All true, my man.  That's not a horrible price for property in Dubai, but I definitely don't want to live there, nor do I have that amount of bitcoin.

The user above is correct.  The seller won't receive bitcoin, but fiat. But it's still a way to buy stuff with crypto, and that's a plus.
11369  Other / Meta / Re: Is there anyway to avoid local board spammers? on: September 09, 2017, 04:13:51 PM
Better on the local boards than on the  English section,  IMO.  I'm actually glad to see some sig campaigns paying for local board posts.  I think it's a great idea,  because it doesn't hurt to advertise to that population, even if the advertising doesn't reach as many people.  ICOs are illegal in the US anyway.

Nevertheless,  this guy is either furiously trying to rank up or is trying to meet his shitpost quota in record time.  Probably needs a good old temporary suspension.

Edit: As actmyname said, just report this idiot's posts and use the ignore button.  That's all you can do. Creating a thread and bitching about it doesn't help much.
11370  Economy / Speculation / Re: another day, another dip, another buy the dip on: September 09, 2017, 03:58:13 PM
i am back again with another buy the dip Smiley
this time i am a little late myself.

as the news about China heats up the panic of the weak hands is also heating up. if we see another news from China and another dip it would be a great chance ot start buying some coins in case you msised out or in case you want a bigger profit from these weak hands.

in any case brace yourself and get the cash ready to buy at the bottoms of the dips. and enjoy  Kiss

They're not cheap enough yet in my opinion. I think there will be more and bigger dips coming so there should be more opportunities to buy lower. I would look for a price of $3000 to buy but you never know if it will drop that low again. I think a correction will happen and the newbies will start jumping out and the price will consolidate at some lower point. But that point will be a solid bottom as the weakest investors are out of the picture.
I still can't figure out whether this China news is as fake as the DVDs and silver coins they pump out onto the world market, or if it would even be news anyway.  Seems like it did affect the price, though.

I don't think this is cheap enough, either.  But we'll see.  There's nothing in this market that's predictable--ever.  Glad I bought some junk silver.  I don't regret that.
11371  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Signature Campaign Question on: September 09, 2017, 03:31:36 PM
As stated way too many times, there's no rule.  I would add that participants should leave if they find a better deal.  That makes rates more competitive.  That's the free market in action.  OP, if you got your answer, please consider locking the thread or else you're going to get the same answer repeated over and over.   Shitposters love talking about campaigns and bounties.
11372  Other / Meta / Re: Real Life Bitcointalk? on: September 09, 2017, 02:00:07 AM
It's kind of a neat idea,  but I'm cool with just remaining anonymous.

If there was a bitcointalk picnic with name tags and such, I might attend.  I'm not a bastard IRL though.

Edit:  Would be funny, because some people's shirts would have a helluva lot of name tags.  Lol
11373  Other / Meta / Re: No one Cares about this forum !? on: September 08, 2017, 10:37:40 PM
Bro, that's all untrusted feedback with no valid reference links.  I wouldn't worry about it so much, and mods aren't going to do anything.   Take a look at my trust page--I never scammed anyone but you'd never know that if you didn't realize my red comes from a bunch of disgruntled assholes who left retaliatory negs.  I just have to live with ot and so do you.  There isn't much you or I can do.

Your trust shows up neutral, so that's a good thing.
11374  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: .006 BTC for trusted paypal exchange on: September 08, 2017, 06:23:50 PM
I can do $26.50 for 0.006 if you want.  Let me know.

Edit:  Done deal, and a pleasure as always, adroitfil_one!
11375  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Legal and trusted online shops to buy Gold and Silver coins with Bitcoin? on: September 08, 2017, 04:31:45 PM
Veldt Gold is one that I've used recently, and the neat thing is that they buy gold and silver for bitcoin, too. Their prices tend to be a little steep, but they claim to price match.  Fast delivery.

I was using Provident Metals, but I think they may have stopped accepting bitcoin. They're reputable as well and I never had any problems with them.

It's probably a good idea to buy some metals right about now, with crypto as high as it is.
11376  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Warren Buffet in 2014: “Bitcoin is a mirage, stay away from it” on: September 08, 2017, 03:50:05 PM
Warren Buffet is probably the best long term stock market investor but that doesn't mean he is infallible. Anyway, I think his opinions on investment in general should be taken into account, no matter if after thinking carefully about it, you finally disagree with him.

It would be interesting to know if he keeps thinking the same though.
He's not infallible by any means, but he has a point and he didn't even lose any money on bitcoin since he never bought any.  He doesn't invest in assets he doesn't understand, and I respect that immensely.  Remember, he's responsible for other people's money, so it makes sense not to buy something as risky as bitcoin--and in the meantime he's made so much money on the stocks he bought that it doesn't matter to him.  Being risk averse isn't a sign of failure.
11377  Other / Off-topic / Re: I am getting sick of fucking Chinese idiots on: September 08, 2017, 03:16:52 PM
Would be nice if they would rethink their culture of counterfeitd and otherwise bootlegged goods.  Other than that, they're pretty important to the bitcoin "ecosystem" and I don't hope that ends.  Their presence on this forum, like the rest of those who can't communicate effectively, is a burden.  They make good scientists and lo mein, though.
11378  Economy / Speculation / Re: Have I missed something?? Markets tanked in minutes! on: September 08, 2017, 03:08:02 PM
Get used to stuff like this happening, and if you don't have the stomach for volatility, you're in the wrong market. This is a dip of what, $250 or whatever?  That's nothing.  If it dropped by 50%, then that'd be something.

Think of it as a chance to get in at a cheaper price.  And we may not be done dropping, either.
11379  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you have some BTCs, why not have some Gold? on: September 08, 2017, 01:27:09 AM
having both bitcoin and gold is naturally a must-have but in terms of sight for bitcoin seekers not too concerned with gold, because the biggest and promising asset for now is bitcoin
Hmmm, I agree.
The bitcoin gives us +8~+9% per month growth,
And the gold only gives us +21% per year growth.
You're fucking insane to think those numbers are going to continue.  But go ahead and count on those exceptionally high numbers.  You'll be the first one starting a "why bitcoin crashing??" thread.

I like silver better, just because of my small budget and lower premiums.  In fact I just bought some with bitcoin last week while bitcoin was just about $5000.  I lucked out with the timing.
11380  Economy / Exchanges / Re: registring with an exchange on: September 07, 2017, 05:42:32 PM
Don't know what exchange you're trying to register with, but yes, that's normal.  I don't know exactly what they do with your information, but legitimate exchanges need to do the whole KYC/AML stuff.  Don't sweat it.  It'll be worth it in the end when you can buy & sell bitcoin with fiat.  There aren't enough honest places to do that.  A few months ago, I was going to do all the required stuff at Kraken, but they couldn't read my drivers license and photo, and it turned into a huge mess.  I said screw 'em.
