1141  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Selling bitcoin(Not connected to internet) on: April 27, 2016, 12:32:50 AM
Was reading a thread and started to think about ways to move bitcoin without actually being tapped into the network.

1. Buyer connected to internet, seller offers code to scan for said amount agreed on well not connected.

Any other ways to have one party not connected?

Was also looking at the wifi direct option and that looked to dicey to connect into the buyers/sellers network during a transaction.

No you need to have a connection to the network as you transaction needs sent in it.     You mention wifi could be dicey during buying/selling.  If your talking about buying and selling in person you can use a smartphone in some cases where you use cell phone network vs wifi.

As far as security some hardware wallets can connect to phones via OTG cable and allow pretty save storage/sending even on the go.
1142  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: External heatsink on Psu on: April 27, 2016, 12:29:43 AM
* Rest above

with fan pointed down  it pulls cooler air from below.

you can try an infra red gun to find the hot spots

http://www.amazon.com/HDE-Non-Contact-Infrared-Temperature-Thermometer/dp/B002YE3FS4

Phil is pointing you twords an amazing tool I use one similar to this more often then I ever thought I would.   So nice to walk in mining area and get reads around machines and see my CFM's get maximum effect.  With summer heats coming (and raising some already) I use it more and more.

I'm surprised on RM series I have 2 RM1000's and they always worked fine for me no heatsinks.  So not sure if made nicer then smaller ones or what.  But I have had them for quite a while with good luck.

rm1000 is very good gear but  it is pretty hot in one spot.  I mine with it in a pc 2 r9  390's  doing eth coin  pulls 550 watts.

case has a lot of air flow so it is all good.

I could just be lucky then I have had mine since GPU mining day's long ago.  Eventually they mined asics, but that have lasted a long time.   They have went through winters, summers.  Mining in house and mining in a mining area.

I never had a issue with all that so I still think a good gpu.  Although I admit when getting PSU's later on I got the EVGA to get 1300 vs 1000.  And now it's all about the server psus.
1143  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Miner-boiler heating water vs air miner on: April 27, 2016, 12:22:00 AM
Really great work! Well done!

What are you saying great job for?  They have a prototype no miner to sell to general public, heck I don't think we even know efficiency of prototype.  So there is not a lot of good things.

I would avoid company till they prove a lot more.   Also I would want to see possibly  a better design look at their site when it's hooked up near water heater.   That is just something most "home miners" won't be able to do on install I dont think.
1144  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Diff thread Apr 14 to Apr 28? picks are now closed.... prize = 0.2 btc on: April 27, 2016, 12:17:59 AM
Were almost to hit 470, right now were at 469 and change - https://www.coinbase.com/charts  so very good news there.  Still have a day or so in period for it to go up even higher.

Bitwisdom has us at less then 2 percent right now which again.. great.

Bitcoin Difficulty:    178,678,307,672
Estimated Next Difficulty:    181,474,058,138 (+1.56%)
Adjust time:    After 178 Blocks, About 1.2 days
Hashrate(?):    1,235,895,416 GH/s

So it's looking like this difficulty change will be a good thing for us.
1145  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Should I buy 3 Antminer S1's for $15? on: April 26, 2016, 06:09:57 AM
Bitmain made like hundreds of thousands of those S1's, they will never be collectors items.

And they very well might not I can see how there is a lot more collectors of stick miners, then bigger machines it seems.  But I guess it depends on his mining setup.  For me if truly 5 dollars each I would pay that just to put in mining area as a decoration of sorts as I have a decent amount of room.

But I can see what you mean if someone is counting on it and holding it to sell as a collectors item in a few years likely they will be disappointed.   But a decoration or even a project/parts for project 5 dollars each seem like a steal unless they really have dropped this low in value and I just did not see it.
1146  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I want to invest in 20x S7 on: April 26, 2016, 06:06:02 AM
I want to buy 20x S7, for one unit I have to pay around 920-940$ (for shipping and bringing products in country which is +18% of total cost).
The cost of the power is 0.08$ and there is a chance of getting some free energy too. In the case of the free energy there is no doubt to buy those.
I wonder how soon would new miners will be available, I'm thinking about 6-7 month for ROI, is that correct ?
I need your advice guys, any ideas and offers are much appreciated

ROI is honestly hard to tell you as difficulty changes really can be tough to speculate, this current one looks good.  Also value of BTC hard to predict this period again it's been pretty great.   But not all periods are as good, it's not a guaranteed ROI.  Also new machine no one can say this, that is a questioned speculated on but no anwser supported by fact's that I know of. That being said I still love it and will always mine.

How much free electricity do you have access to?  Does noise/heat matter in the area?
1147  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin online wallets on: April 26, 2016, 06:02:41 AM
Which wallet do you recommend for everyday use but secure enough?

Is it better to use multiple wallet and spread all btc...

I suggest you Blockchain.info and Coinbase are the best wallet as much I know both wallet very much smooth transactions and you could go with settings to have many address and multiple devices log in and many more features are there.

On blockchain I did do testing with Yubikey's (a 2nd factor device ) - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1353231.0

They are a great tool to ad 2fa to blockchain.info as they are supported.  To get the second factor the usb device has to be in computer and you physically press it.  So about as secure as you can get on 2fa.  I like the part that you have to have the physical token, and it's not on a text message or something a "bad guy" might possibly have a way to get/see.
1148  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to collect BTC ?? on: April 26, 2016, 05:58:15 AM
people are to much taken with the best solution...
they forget the less best solutions...
they forget that it is often possible to do both...
I can programme my sites...
but often you need concentration...and the environment is not the best to programme...
I never programme when I watch TV...
But then I can claim faucets.
Of course claiming faucet is waste of time...
But I claim only faucets when I have 20 seconds to spend and generally during I do other things.
So faucets are for me never waste of time.
I waste more time on forums than on faucets (lol)

Faucets are a waste of time no matter what your doing.  So you can spend hours of tv time claiming faucets?   That is not a very fun way to watch tv.   And you might get a few dollars a month if your do many many hours.

It takes your attention as you have to put capatcha on most.. so you are putting all your attention on it.  Also you are using more electricity then you make off faucet.  So you are losing money.   No one can ever convince me faucets are good way to spend time.  Only a very few get decent pay they are owners or big reffers.

Yeah faucets will waste your time, energy and money in the form of electricity, you can earn better money with less time in signature campaign, and it will also add value to your knowledge related to bitcoin.

you are perhaps right...but people do not follow your saying...and you know it.
And i know it even better than you because my systems are based on this principle.
Offer satoshi and you will be sure people will soon or late claim them.
Offer more satoshi...people will claim sooner or ofter.
You can not go against this fact.
You can write here 1000 times that faucets are not profitable...if i offer 1000 satoshi for free...I will find soon or late someone who will claim it.
And if i offer 5000...believe me they will be claimed before you have time to say that electricity is to expensive.(lol)
My system is "UNIQUE" and people know that they earn even during their sleep...even if they do not claim.
The problem with "UNIQUE" system is to put them on "cathegories"

Your system could be the best faucet in the world (I personally don't think it is) but lets say it is you still pay cent's per hour's.   That is just how it works out nothing against you but faucets earn dust.    Your offer of 1000 satoshi sounds great till you do math and see it is " USD $0.0046549000".

And you can make argument PC would be on anyways... that is valid I have some on 24x7.  But your still wasting time you will never get back.  I would try to get someone to use time to learn a skill.  If they did this instead of hours of faucets they will gain so much more long term.

For your "Unique" system to be considered something special I think you need to pay off all investors.  If you are able to pay off all investors and then prove you pay better then cents per hours you will get a lot more people who listen.  And I still think paying off your paid investors needs to be done before you can claim sucess.
1149  Other / Off-topic / Re: Need your advise on paypal (shity service) on: April 26, 2016, 05:50:37 AM
Hi guys !

first fuck paypal service ! but I need to get one to be flexible in the net

I need your advise on how to get full functional paypal account !

Which place shall I open an account to send /receive money without been verified

For whom who is from other less Tiers may know what I'm talking about. there is a huge discrimination in Paypal policies over countries trully hope in

the near Future Bitcoin will erase this shit from web surface till that time I need your help  Huh

Thanks in advise

Not sure what your questions is or what we can help with.  Paypal is it's own beast, it has many rules and they can get complex as a seller.  If you have large/unusual amounts it would not surprise me that they want your account verified as you mention above.  I can understand as this is to prevent fraud/scams.

You will not find a ton of love for paypal on this site.  It is not ready for bitcoin sales due to chargebacks you can really lose selling digital goods.   Also selling miners they still can refund sometimes for questionable reasons.

So you will find others that have ran into problems.  But as far as helping not much we can do with paypal help.
1150  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Should I buy 3 Antminer S1's for $15? on: April 26, 2016, 05:35:01 AM
3 working S1's for $15 could actually be a good deal, chance is real that you can make some profit by re-selling them to a collector... At $5/piece that shouldn't be to hard.

nice idea Cheesy selling to the collector

You laugh but it has happened on some miners.  Look at block erupters people collect them and some even try to get every color.   So they go for way more then they are worth.

So we have seen some collecting of miners.   If I ran across 3 S1's for 15 dollars total... I would probley go for it and worst I set them on shelf.  For 15 dollars... I don't think you can go wrong.
1151  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Miner-boiler heating water vs air miner on: April 26, 2016, 04:58:19 AM
Yeah I dont want any preorder but will be more than interested in buying one.  Grin

I'm not sure I thought water cooling would be fun once... got two C1's.  I have to say I like air much more.  All depends on your setup but with having my mining area I would pick air all day long.

If something goes wrong... that is a lot of fluid and near electricity.  I was scared when I saw one of my syscooling pumps fail and water came out of it... it got lucky with positioning it dripped down a old table and not twords electricity.

They have not made any big announcements that i know of... so I'm thinking we will never see mass production.
1152  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: April 26, 2016, 03:46:15 AM
Any new slots?..

Since new page I will post last anwser from Marco:

The CoinsBank signatures have been designed.

The new campaign will launch extremely soon. All current users will be accepted automatically and new users will have to apply.

Regards Smiley

So I think not yet once new campaign launches I would guess it will be pretty easy to tell, but it has not yet.
1153  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it too late to start with bitcoin? on: April 26, 2016, 01:26:33 AM
Its never late when it comes to bitcoin as we know majority of people are not still aware about it and same was the scenario with us in past, its good that now we are aware about it.

We still have not hit mass adoption.  Were so early on in crypto currency it's hard to say what it will look like in 5 years let alone more.  So people are still early, look at rise this month.

So you can earn money and some do it as simple as just holding coins for a period of time.
1154  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are the best ways to earn bitcoins? on: April 26, 2016, 01:23:02 AM
My advice is very simple, the best way in this forum is a signature campaign and you have to learn about trading, in trading you can get amazing results. trading bitcoin and mainly trading altcoins.

My advice is spend some time learning how to use the forum.  There are at least 5-10 on this topic on front page of newbie part.  Some have ran for months and have more then we could ever tell you quickly in here.

So I hihgly suggest goinging into Beginers & Help forum read the topics and I promise you will get much better luck.  Also if certain part you want to know about within it search it and chances are someone asked it as far as "earn bitcoin" topics.
1155  Other / Meta / Re: [Suggestion] Dedicated sub-forum for Legendaries on: April 26, 2016, 01:19:47 AM
I wonder why OP is so concerned about this though! You have a long way to go before entering Legendary BTW.

Activity: 574 Roll Eyes

-snip-
I think, this will be different because lots of Legendaries are still active as opposed to donators.

What would be legendary only topics though?
Anything from block size controversy to Lightning Network implementation, but with less noise and more rationality. Right now, bitcoinTalk.org, forum.bitcoin.com, /r/bitcoin, /r/btc all are full of chaotic newbies. A Legendary, who has spent a significant amount of his online life in bitcoin related discussions, will most likely be far less chaotic than a random newbie.

Best solution would be to create a thread with self moderation.
It'll eventually keep newbies away.

Only time I use self moderation is in my reviews.  As everytime some try to use it as a hardware sales (it's mean for support), or they just like to spam it.    I personally don't care newbie or legendary as long as they bring good information/posts.  So I don't see a huge reason for trying to be just legendary.

It would create like a "club" that really would do nothing.   I cant think of any topic I have I just want to limit to legendary accounts.  Normally I enjoy talking to all levels, and all parts of the world.  And I enjoy helping and talking to new people... so that could be why I don't see reason to have legendary board.
1156  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I want to start mining from 9 th/s. is it profitable now a day? on: April 26, 2016, 01:07:18 AM
thank you for replying 'Amph' i would like to talk to you more about all this. can you please reply me inbox! thanks!

so my Question is can i make Profit from two "AntMiner S7's" on todays date? if yes,
We really need to know more as profit means making above cost of running.  What is your electricity price?

HOW MUCH BTC CAN I EARN IN A MONTH? and can start earning from first month?
Again really need electricity price to be of any help.

- how much internet speed did i need to make it run properly?
They don't take much internet speed but you do want something with not huge latency.  If your ping is horrible possibly could effect mining.  But any modern dsl, cable, etc type of internet connection will work fine with 2 (and could handle a lot more)

- if i want to stop mining i near future, will i able to sell it in indian market?
You will have to check around on local markets.   I cannot say much on Indian resells as they are not that common in hardware sales... so we lack data.  You would have to find this out on your own or look for local sub board to ask in.
1157  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How much will I make mining? on: April 26, 2016, 01:02:38 AM
11.6 cent is quite a lot. Remember the difficulty is increasing and with the pricing going up there is no sign this will stop.
So you will end put up with a loss if you use a 'dated' S7 miner.

I think it would all depend on resale with 11.6 cents.  He would have to mine and sell at a profit so partially at mercy of bitmain and hoping they don't drop S7 anymore or he loses then.

But that is only choice I see is buy and flip which can be dangerous on ebay.   He could wait till next gen whenever it hit's and likely get a decent amount of time mining with it before having to sell.
1158  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Diff thread Apr 14 to Apr 28? picks are now closed.... prize = 0.2 btc on: April 26, 2016, 01:00:15 AM
Wait and sell some at $2000 each, I have a few coins that I mined at that value. Not often you have a chance to make that kind of gain in your lifetime.

We are a LONG way's from 2,000 though.  Were celebrating a 60 dollar or so raise from the 400 day's.  But to get to 2,000 is not going to be a near term goal even with having.

If we hit 1,000 anytime soon I would be very happy to see.  I do think 1,000 will be hard to hold with sale walls and some cashing out some if it happens.  And honestly we have been really just picking up last 2 weeks or so, we might stall anytime and not keep this gain going at least as quick as it is.
1159  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: April 26, 2016, 12:42:52 AM
Bot reset here indeed, but no payment. I'll be waiting, as usual.

I have a question for the new campaign:

Any news on avatar campaign, i'm wondering how will it look like Smiley

All will be revealed soon™.

Will there be an avatar campaign?

And I see payments went out it looks like to, so you might check again.  I was thinking it said the 26th on next payout (Could be wrong been a crazy start to week).  But I think it was on time or possibly before date mentioned.  So thanks again Marco!
1160  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin online wallets on: April 26, 2016, 12:34:42 AM
How would you rate blockchain?

Is mobile ios wallet better than online wallet?

thanks
Blockchain is a no-go. Too vulnerable to even basic phising, and to top it off they have a horrible reputation as a reliable wallet service , even among other web wallets(thats when you know shit's hit the fan)

It should only be used as a hot wallet (so keep only daily spend in it).  Also make sure to use 2FA, lazyness without it could cost you the BTC stored there. It's a great wallet just should not be a main wallet for your holdings.
