1141  Economy / Economics / Re: Rising Numbers on: November 01, 2015, 01:19:10 PM
I am new to the Bitcoin world but trying to learn.  Can you in reality in the far future ever see a coin be worth more than 1K or more?

Theoretically and if regulated and legalized in most of the countries (or in the most importants and the developed ones) the price must go much more higher than the price mentioned by you in your post. The number of bitcoins is limited, the people which will known and will want to use it is predicted to be always higher and higher. At least these factors will can cause the increase of the value of bitcoin in time. It is for sure that these time are not near. So you will need to wait years to have the hope to see those prices. But are based even if conditioned.

Anyhow you can have the possibility to see a possible increase of value of bitcoin in the middle of the next year after the halving. The halving is the process of halving of production of bitcoin within the time a block of bitcoin is produced. It is actually 25 bitcoin every about 10 minutes. It will be (after the halving) 12.5 bitcoin every about 10 minutes. This decrease of supply of bitcoin (decrease of the flow of bitcoins in the market in an defined period of time) and at least the same demand for it (have no known reason which can cause the decrease of demand for bitcoin) will made possible the increase of its price. the amount remain to be seen. But normally must be for sure an increase of price of it. Repeat: all those are theory. The practice is another. We hope to see something that have big probabilities to happen. But sometimes win the less probabilities. Everyone of us who are here in bitcointalk hope the verification of the big probabilities.  Wink
1142  Economy / Economics / Re: Forgoten Greece on: November 01, 2015, 12:57:46 PM
What have we really thought about it, that's going to get better. Greece problem surfaced in 2009. Six years later, it only have gotten worse. How the hell are we thinking that is going to get better in the near future.

EU is swimming in problems and I don't know will they be able to pull themselves out. It's not just Greece. It's also Spain, Italy, Portugal, Ireland that have huge and unsustainable debts.

Also immigration problems with people from Syria are killing EU. I don't know, but it doesn't look good!

Well we can't do so much about it. Even if EU banks lend them money, that will just add up to the debt without actually solving some of their growing problem. Also, add the immigration problem to the problems EU is facing, you'll see that Greece's problem wouldn't be taken cared of soon.

My friend EU doesn't give a s**t about Greece. All they are doing are bailing out their banks (mostly German and French banks). They are actually giving money to themselves and not to the Greek people.

First bail out in 2009-2010, 90% of all the funds given to Greece by the EU has gone to the EU banks bailout!

So it will be right if the money of the others go to the Greeks and not to their owners. After all the money given to Greece to create their welfare, must go in crisis all the banks who borrowed money to them. Only the Greeks must not be touched. All the others people who worked to give money to the Greeks must see their banks bankrupted and their money on those lost. No matter what the reason of all this mess are the Greeks. All this only that Greeks continue to have 14 salaries in one year and go in retirement at 57 years. Because no one thing of the wealth of the Greeks created with the money of the others must be touched. Even if such kind of wealth don't exist in any of the countries who gave money to the Greeks. In few words all the others who worked and produced the money given to the Greeks lets go in hell or lets go fired. Important are the Greeks. The glorious and the chosen Greeks people.
1143  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Video: Bitcoin Should Not Be Considered Currency on: November 01, 2015, 11:58:27 AM

According to the guy in the video: Currency needs to represent the value of society, economy and humanity.
Please, who can, told to him that bitcoin represent the first materialization of one of the most valuable technology developed by the human kind in him's story. This technology will change radically all the way of existence and the life of the entire society, economy and humanity. He must study and understand the value of peer to peer, its potential and its application power. Let do a simple search in internet to see who are applied this technology and to learn that this is only the begging. Maybe even the beginning is not yet arrived. And then give lessons about bitcoin or its production technology.

Telling word it is easy. No need to learn and study nothing. Just formulate the word you know or read at the newspapers. Telling thoughts is very difficult. Because every thought is product of knowledge and reasoning. That person in the video must learn to tell thoughts when speak in public to not become ridiculous.

But leaving the above things because can seems difficult to understand to him. I want to ask him only a question: what name can have something with which can be bought everything in market?
1144  Economy / Economics / Re: Forgoten Greece on: November 01, 2015, 10:09:25 AM
Greeks drama continue and EU debt crisis has no end

Greece’s four main banks need to find another €14bn (£10bn) of reserves to ensure they could withstand an economic downturn, the European Central Bank said on Saturday.

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/oct/31/greece-banks-14bn-survive-economic-downturn

And know Spain election

Why forgotten and why must be made other things only for Greece? They had their help even their behavior was not such to allow the help given by the others. Every country has its problems. To many and big problems. Why must be Greece such particular to have such attention and to have several threads here in bitcointalk? My knowledge about Greece told that there the people live normally. Have no restrictions. Have a quite and not bad life. Why must remember even what it is about the banks in Greece. Going in this way it is not strange to see some problems with the trees in Greece or the forests in Greece. To not mention more banal things...

1146  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The lack of newbie friendly tutorials on: November 01, 2015, 08:40:22 AM
Disagree. You must not go much away from this forum. You have here a full section named "beginners and help" here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=39.0

Then even in various sections of this forum again you can find various threads named for example: New to bitcoin. Read here first.

Don't want to mention here thousand of videos on you tube an numerous sites if you do e simple search in google. All those told by the above posters.
1147  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Website to verify bitcoin signatures anno 2015? on: November 01, 2015, 08:31:32 AM
Verifying Bitcoin signatures online is ludicrous to me. Why do we have wallets that we know are safe and will do the job?

This is like verifying SHA sums online, it beats every purpose of doing it!

Oh well..

I think it is not so much ludicrous at least in the case that your account here in bitcointalk could be hacked by someone. See this thread of Theymos about the only possibility you have to recover your account. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0
1148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: where to trade USD / BTC on: November 01, 2015, 08:17:54 AM
If you want the most convenient is coinbase. And this is told even by the others in this thread. But the use of coinbase it is not active in every country. So if your country it is not in the list where coinbase offer this service you naturally cannot use it. Then I can tell you another one in which can have your bitcoin and make trading us dollar - bitcoin (even with profit if you could have chance and can wait). the site it is named virwox. In this exchange you can buy or sell bitcoins from credit card, Paypal etc but changing before your primary money with linden dollars (virtual money). So if you want bitcoin and have us dollar, make a deposit of us dollar, must buy linden dollars and after, with those linden dollars you can buy bitcoin. If you buy linden dollars and don't do the second step and wait, the change can become profitable if the price of bitcoin with us dollar go down. But must happen even the opposite and you can lose. You tell that you want to trade. So this kind of exchange could fit to you because of this kind of virtual money between the final change. Anyhow they have fees (have no idea how much are momentarily because I have time that don't use it). If you find interesting do a registration (it's free naturally) and study everything. If you like it or find interesting trading there, I 'm happy to have helped you.
1149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Happy Birthday Bitcoin on: November 01, 2015, 08:04:10 AM
Seven years ago today, Satoshi Nakamoto released his famous whitepaper to the world, inviting users on the leading cryptography mailing list to work on it, officially marking the start of Bitcoin's existence. I still think, every newbie must read the whitepaper at least once...

http://www.coinlearn.org/whitepaper.php

Here are 7 surprises you never saw coming this year - http://bravenewcoin.com/news/happy-7th-birthday-bitcoin-7-surprises-you-never-saw-coming-this-year/

Very good post and thread. Hope that it will be long: the longest of bitcointalk. Anyone of us which are here like bitcoin and have no reasons to tell this with big words. Our active participation here (who less and who more, day many and days few - depending from our free time, possibilities and other commitments) is the best testimonial about this. I hope that this our affection for bitcoin can be spread in many people possible because bitcoin is a rarity and was the first product which announce a new era in the world of technologies connected with its production technology and a new era in the entire development of the environment in which live the human kind. Welcome bitcoin. Thank you Satoshi. Become alive. Everyone who like bitcoin or who have hear about you want to know you and want to hear you and your words.
1150  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Halloween greetings from the Crypto crypt. on: November 01, 2015, 07:47:06 AM
I think that bitcoin is known as bitcoin and not as "cryptothing". Everyone who know bitcoin know it with such name and not with "there is something that is called cryptocurrency which has as name bitcoin". So I don't see any kind of problem for bitcoin which is not connected with the word crypto. The result of all my post: No need at all to mean this change, no need to make such connection as OP has made in him's main past and, at the end, no need even to change the word crypto.
1151  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: In 2015, faucets are bad for bitcoin on: November 01, 2015, 07:39:07 AM
When BTC started, nobody had any and it was worthless, so it was right to give away thousands of BTC to make it popular. All that has changed. Now that BTC's worth something, now that companies are building on BTC, now that serious business transactions are made with bitcoin, it's about time for faucets to adapt.

BTC is real. It's money, and you've got to work to earn some. I hope all faucets will disappear in 2015. Faucets are hurting bitcoin by making some people believing you can get it while doing nothing sitting in your home. No, BTC isn't like that, and it shouldn't be any easier to get than any fiat currency. Even for small amounts.

I think that the faucets are yet a very big tool to spread bitcoin and to make people interested about it. Those are very important for the beginners who see in those a free earnings even this it is in very little amounts. In a same way the faucet make the people to have desire to have more and more bitcoin and after being annoyed with those to search for better alternatives (including buying some bitcoins). So, in other words, I think that faucets are an important tool to create the needed and the right "addiction" of the new bitcoin people with bitcoin.

Then, and this is important to be understood, is the market who decide if something is outdated activity or not. If the faucet will have not more users they will "close the doors and go home". If they continue to exist (and even multiplies - every day I see new ones) mean that they have yet users. If have users have no meaning to ask their extinction from the market.
1152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ransomware, the best thing that has happened to Bitcoin on: November 01, 2015, 07:24:09 AM
Here we go, Bitcoin to stratospheric prices and general public adoption due to the need to get their data back.

What we need now is an app that lets people automatically pay their ransomware taxes.

According to one my search ransomware is "a type of malicious software designed to block access to a computer system until a sum of money is paid."

I don't understand what the OP does it mean with him's main post but if it is a game of words it is a not good one. Anyhow my understand is that he want a ransomware to steal the money to the others through this malicious software. This steal of money he call tax that the others must pay to him. He think to be smart and superior in proposing such things openly but for sure suffer from delirium and for being lonely. This him's situation, he want to compensate with such things and such posts. I wanted to tell him only one question: what if the people to whom he will sent him's randsomware have no idea what is bitcoin what it will be its behavior? Will him unlock the computer of the victim? Then it will feel better after steal the bitcoin to someone which will be obligated to pay its "tax"? And at the end. If someone will send to him an randsomware and buckle him to give all its bitcoins what will happen to him? Will jump from one windows from the 14th floor of a high building?
1153  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Greatest Bitcoin Invention Ever! on: November 01, 2015, 07:12:34 AM
I just had the greatest idea ever. I heard the phrase, "I'll give you my two cents." and thought, "how could that be applied to bitcoin?"

And the idea that hit me was a way to simultaneously monetize a video sharing site like youtube and also at the same time clean up it's comment section:

Make it cost a nominal amount of bitcoin to comment on a video! The proceeds go to the video producer! (maybe a small cut to the owner of the site) What a superior way to monetize than annoying advertisements!

Also, in order to give you two cents, you literally gotta pay up two cents! Do you agree it's the best idea you've ever heard in your entire life or what??

Maybe you think that this idea is the greatest bitcoin invention ever but me seems that it is not even an big idea (sorry for that and for being direct and sincere). Normally is paid they who give comments about something and not the contrary. The author of something need comments for him's "product" to have feedback about its creation in order to understand how much its work is understand or liked by the people. Every work has success if is liked by the people and every work of every creator want this or have this as a principal aim. Then, if liked, are the people itself who want to own or give appreciation (including the monetary one). You want to compel their who comment to give money in order to have the right to comment. The most normal thing which most of the people who will see the video (after seeing your obligation to pay for one comment make) can be: this guy want my money and not my comment. So lets find another stupid to do this. And will be not at all comments. Or much few likened with the situation when the comment would be free and it will be asked kindly some satoshi as a contribution for the artist. Like it is actually in such occasions.

Sorry if I don't liked you idea but this is my thought.  Wink
1154  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many people REALLY use bitcoin on: November 01, 2015, 06:57:55 AM
I just wanted to know if you guys use bitcoin quite often in your life. Please give me some occasions where you have used bitcoin.

I don't use at all my bitcoins except the occasions when I think that using those is and investment which can bring me other bitcoins. This kind of occasions, until now, has been the investments in cloud mining. There were three times when I invested in such kind of sites. One will profits, one without profits and without loss and the third with loss. The overall result (fortunately) was to have the same bitcoins "invested". I tell "fortunately" because now I'm convinced that the cloud mining sites are mostly scam and I don't invest anymore there.
1155  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's stopping people from using bitcoin? on: November 01, 2015, 06:48:35 AM
The first reason which make the people to not use bitcoin is because they don't know it. Is yet very little the percentage of the people who know it. Second, they who know it and don't use it make this because they believe that the price of bitcoin will go high or very high in the future. So don't worth to use it for small or everyday needs for the everyday life. Me myself thinks like the lasts. I see the use of bitcoin to buy irrelevant things (or even relevant ones) in internet with bitcoin as a waste of it. I have other money to use in such kind of occasions: why use bitcoin?
1156  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Suggest me a Bitcoin educational video/article on: November 01, 2015, 06:38:35 AM
The best thing to do to learn about bitcoin is to search yourself in you tube or internet and find everything is there. Leave what don't understand (possibly bookmark those to give a look after) see/hear/read what seems interesting to you. So, in other words, chose you yourself what want to see, to hear and to read. Only you can know what do you want to know. Everyone else can give only what he/she/ wanted to know (when was new to bitcoin) or want to know (in this moment himself). It is better to learn yourself to know the things you want to know than have something ready from the others. Being lazy don't help at all (to not tell damage) your ability to learn new things and to understand what to chose in knowing new things in general.
1157  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia Proposes Jail Sentence for Bitcoin Activities on: November 01, 2015, 06:24:21 AM
A fast view of this news make understand to everyone the fear that the economy of Russia have from bitcoin. This a clear sign of the crisis that this economy are passe. They have fear from bitcoin because have fear that most of the Russian goes to the bitcoin because of not believe in their national currency. This it would be the end for the Russian economy which even such kind of actions it is in serious difficulties after the international sanctions. This situation has one and only one name, Putin. With its delirium of greatness, with his authoritarianism in guiding its Government, with his stupidity in doing its foreign policy, with his myopia in using the force outside its national borders or stealing territory or create or support irredentism to, or in the other independents countries near Russia has bring all this situation for one country which, under another normal and fair leadership, would be one of the most prosperous and developed in the world.
1158  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: On the cover page of The Economist on: October 31, 2015, 06:56:11 PM
Arriving at the cover page of "The Economist" it is not at all easy. It is one of the most prestigious magazine in Europe and even more. I haven't found any article about bitcoin in the link given by OP (maybe is my fault) to have a more clear idea about the meaning and the aim of this fact. But it is enough even the meaning of cover page to understand the behavior and the position of this magazine versus it.

If The Economist think that bitcoin will (can) change the world, this, not only is a important recognition from this prestigious and very influential magazine versus bitcoin, but even a prelude of the possible advancement of the status of bitcoin in Great Britain. Actually its status is "private money". Maybe soon we will see it to have the new status as a full currency with all the power that such status can give.
1159  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China (Unofficially) Authorizes Bitcoin! on: October 31, 2015, 06:42:23 PM
I am surprised we haven't discussed this! Have I missed this discussion maybe or we have all just missed this huge news in my opinion? This also explains current rise!

Share your thoughts please!

http://cointelegraph.com/news/115435/china-unofficially-authorizes-bitcoin-price-turns-bullish

This a very big news. China is the bigger market of bitcoin in the world and its regulation there will be a very high recognition for bitcoin. And a big step ahead in the regulation of bitcoin even in other countries. This is not the first thread which treat this "rumor" about the regulation and legalization of bitcoin in China. I have made various post about this matter.

The "fact" (according to the article) that "the government seems to have tacitly authorized the use of bitcoin and operations of bitcoin startups and exchanges" if true, it is a step ahead make from the Government of China and is in full, with the kind of behavior, typical Chinese, in handling the difficult and hard matters. It is a typical sign of their opportunism in treating things that have future but that, if allowed immediately, can damage in some way their plans or the previous anticipated economic development plans of their country. Bitcoin is a threat for the Chinese national currency and Chinese finances; as such for overall planed development of the economy of China. But, on the other way, is a big invention and a product with brilliant future ahead. So they control it, allowing its melting in the Chinese economy, step by step. It is the best way to adopt bitcoin without having a bad impact of its use within the country. As always on their recent story the Chinese Government need the respect of everyone about its way to guide its people and the development of its country.
1160  Economy / Economics / Re: US Dollar collapse in 2015? (2) on: October 31, 2015, 12:39:12 PM
Dollar will not collapse completely ever but I guess it will lose strong value when China and India gets bigger in economic scene.
And as I know it is not too far.

Wow. Sorry but it is very funny to not mention this. Another wonderful answer from another bitmixer poster. Have your read the title of this thread Pierre 2? It is about the collapse of us dollar during this year. You think that in the remain 2 months of this year (seeing the second sentence of your post) China and India will go so bigger in economic scene that will be able (always during those two months) to make us dollar to "lose its strong value"?  Shocked  Hmmm a little difficult according to me... But who knows... Maybe I'm wrong... Huh
