1141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solana just reached $80!!! on: December 20, 2023, 06:41:57 PM
Did you check Solana price in 2021? It was way above $80, it was some where around $200 if I am correct.
If anyone is to be question then it's you and not the OP because your question here shows that you didn't read through the post thoroughly before making your response. OP already mention the 2021 case of Solana here below
Quote
November 2021 Solana reached it's all time high $259,96.

According to Solana there are three reason for its pump, one of the reason are
Solana's been scoring some big partnerships recently – case in point, they hooked up with Shopify so merchants can accept crypto payments quickly and cheaply using SOL.
Bitmarxz is also not wrong because when there is halving around the corner all tokens and coins seems to appreciate in value.

1142  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: STOP! Before you become a prey of a scammer! on: December 20, 2023, 03:24:04 PM
It's more like I have seen this kind of threads on how to be more careful on the internet (social media) as the bull run draws closer.
Well it's a good one to increase the awareness of people to secure themselves from internet scammers wondering about looking for people to scam off their crypto assets.

There are lot more measures to follow that needs to be included in the list but I acknowledge your effort on the few that has been mentioned above.
1143  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your view on this? Is it fun or addiction? on: December 20, 2023, 03:04:09 PM
On a personal level I see it to be a joke because where am from sometimes we don't get advise directly, it comes the opposite way, e.g Churchill use a the money I kept in the bank and gamble... Don't stop gambling untill the money finishes. To a normal person it's reads the normal understanding but for us over here it's either a warning that do not touch the money in the bank for any reason or for gambling sake.

And exactly that is how I feel the message was presented in the group as a warning from the opposite view that you shouldn't get addicted to gambling.

But instead of getting further reaction that might lead to regret it shouldn't be published to a group where gamblers  converse.
1144  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Whole Concept of Bitcoin is Failing! on: December 20, 2023, 02:45:54 PM
The concept of Bitcoin from my subjectivity is transacting directly with each other without intermediary and a currency without central controls so cheap transaction fees should have been another agenda but it is not included, but it's carried along the way, now if Bitcoin was to create freedom for both the status quo rich and status quo poor, with the high transaction fee it doesn't create a scenario for the status quo poor people to be free it's now a currency for only status quo rich people.

I haven't obviously seen any possibility to reduce the congested blockchain but only probabilities that are not up to 70% surety for working out.
I'm not sure of this thoughts in my head that it might also be that high transaction fees are initiations from the high profile personals or the so called government(s) inorder to maintain the social strata, because Bitcoin has powered social mobility which might force some of them to drop from their statuses.

My interest is how do we as a community influence the transaction fees to reduce? knowing too well that nothing has been done since the complains of high tx fees.
1145  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How to utilize opportunities in bitcoin on: December 20, 2023, 11:02:49 AM
Firstly your title is misleading because it seems to be an educating thread from the title but a discussion thread when you read the content and this can lead to one writing out of point believing that title is related to the content.
[How to utilize opportunities in Bitcoin] sounds like a guide whereas it's not.

BTW, sometimes people can hold life changing information yet not make use of it based on circumstances. sometimes issues that are very important to our life prevent us from taking an opportunity, for this reason I don't blame anyone who misses the opportunity because one must be alive to see an opportunity but for cases where people reluctantly refuse to partake in anything for some selfish reasons its to their disadvantage because as you said opportunities come but ones.

But critically thinking opportunities does not come once but a {particular} opportunity may not come twice. If we try to analyze the argument above you will agree to this rational thinking, let's buttress using Bitcoin as an example you can miss buying Bitcoin today yet still have an opportunity to buy it again let on. But the difference is it may not be the same price again.
Using life generally as example if opportunity come but once most people would have not made it in life because they missed the first opportunity but the fact is you can miss and opportunity for a particular tine but still have another opportunity to succeed.

So opportunities does not come but once rather a particular opportunity come but once.
1146  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What faucet do you use daily? on: December 20, 2023, 09:52:31 AM
Just as the first and second commenter said years ago when faucets were introduced it was actually giving bitcoins but currently there is no faucet out there that can give you any amount worth of BTC from their sites, maybe there might be but it's not worth it.

Instead of spend all your energy and time on games to be rewarded with Bitcoin for free, you can just find jobs that can pay you and use your incomes to aquire the Bitcoin you wish to have.

Even in your normal job that you will aquire it will help you to grow in experience that night facilitate your start in Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general.
1147  Other / Off-topic / Re: Eliminate fear and learn new things. on: December 20, 2023, 02:21:27 AM
Fear is something that limits a person to take some certain actions. It paralyzes the emotion o the extent your mind warns you to stay away from a situation that it senses to be dangerous. Truly there are periods when your scared and that instincts will protect you from falling for serious circumstances. Which is why i do not not considered fear to be something that is very bad.
Fear is never bad but the feel you get after missing an opportunity that was hindered by fear makes one feel fear itself is bad but behind that feeling the person in this case is the cause of any opportunity missed because he or she lacks self control/emotional control. Everything has a purpose fear has it's own purpose and it does it part very well that it requires personal skills to handle it.

My curiosity is that, why do we fear when we are introduced to new things? When we are trying to learn something  new?
Surely there is always a cloud around new things that our brains begins to ask questions of this nature, like are you sure I can do this? or should I call it doubt in our confidence. This is usually as a result of we trying to be perfect and never to make mistakes in a new thing forgetting the fact that nobody is perfect.

If there is a traumatic experience, should we let fear to get total control of us?
Even before you finish typing this particular question I guess your mind should give you the answer already. BTW it's never advisable to allow your past experiences to control your present because it might end up ruining your opportunities. we shouldn't allow it to even control talk more or less of total control.

Have we been criticized in anyway when we try to learn something new?
Sometimes we bully our juniors subconsciously which I'm not excluded. by this act people feel criticized but some times when we get corrected we feel some kind of pressure that turns out to be pride that makes one not to accept the correction.

Are there any experience of failure when we start something new?
we are bound to make mistakes so we will surely have experience of failure at any give new opportunity.
1148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CRO wallet address starting with ''cro'' on: December 20, 2023, 01:39:28 AM
A little closer analysis of the problem the OP is having here shows that all the wallets you have passed here will not withdraw the CRO token provided by the OP. Because OP said here Cronus (CRO) address must start with CRO. But I searched the trust wallet and found Cronus (CRO) address starting with 0×. Here I can say trust wallet will never solve the problem for OP and if OP transfers token then token will not come to trust wallet token will be totally lost. I have only analyzed the trust wallet and have not analyzed the rest of the wallets but I will analyze and report periodically.

I made some digging on trust wallet because trust wallet cannot be listed where it doesn't offer the service it's listed for.

You said trust wallet can't help OPs case but it quite disappointing that you don't really understand too well, let me buttress, in trust wallet if you search for the token you will find two different address which is the native address that starts with the CRO and the ERC-20 address that starts with 0x.

You can read more from trust wallet support article

That is why I said Do Your Own Research. here is my trust wallet cronos receiving address
Code:
cro1u4kwe9gdpq66whjf6e6gk6f8wpamkj6g9v0sf3

OP can read the article above and then move his coins to trust wallet.
1149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CRO wallet address starting with ''cro'' on: December 19, 2023, 10:41:18 PM
GIYF

You can ask Google about it...

I did a quick search and I found some few wallets that supports or starts with CROs and google suggested the following;

Trust Wallet.
MetaMask.
Ledger.
imToken.
Crypto.com.
Torus.
Coinbase.
TokenPocket.

This wallets starts with cro and you can try any of them to move your tokens/coins to a safe place. But the problem is that most of them are mobile wallets which you don't need right? but few have stand alone version on desktop but as I said before you can DYOR and find the most reliable for your personal use.
1150  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: secrecy vs visibility; creating a balance. on: December 19, 2023, 10:21:06 PM
Imho, creating a balance in this case might be difficult. when we talk about people who have certain skills but don't share it with people or even converse about it, it's based on the type of skill that is in play, just as the first commenter skills like crypto related stuff shouldn't be shared anyhow.

But I believe that in some areas of skills it's required that you advertise yourself in order to get the required attention. if you're a photographer for example and nobody knows about it how do you perform your skill? it's an open skill that needs to be shown to get attention but if we talk about skills like dollar exchanger to local currency you don't discuss such thing with people except for a specific reason if not you get yourself in trouble. if your in Nigeria you will understand, people can attack you at anytime just for sharing such information with them.

like you said about people who share the little they do on social media handles its because they are handling an open skill that requires people's view on it. and I believe it helps too to share every little progress bit by bit because when you share it it brings back a pressure that motivates you to do better because people are watching you.

Now creating a balance, if you have a skill that requires people to know you before you can get success then you should learn how to advertise yourself but if you do somethings that brings unnecessary attention don't share or disclose it to avoid problem.
1151  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: U don Plagiarist ursef on: December 19, 2023, 09:46:40 PM
Having read the content I for suggest make you even lock the thread because no be waytin we supposed to come argue about or discuss, you just make a big point clear and i appreciate that.

To the OP (teamsherry), if you be Nigerian and you want post for LB instead of repeating everything accordingly you can translate to local language to make a difference, hence avoid self plagiarism.

I would also advise you to  ask questions because surely na person show you this place (forum) so you fit just ask him/her questions before you make any decisions concerning the forum.
1152  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me show the right path regarding cryptography technology. on: December 18, 2023, 07:23:27 AM
You have made an interesting decision to learn which many people wants to do here in the forum but not the way you want it. Basically it's advised that you stick to areas you understand better in the forum to avoid spamming but you have an interest in technical knowledge so you will learn that gradually.

Are you still in this generation that cares about what people says? Nobody cares about you so why would you care about what people have to say about you, if you're interested to learn believe that what anybody says is the problem them you probably won't learn.

Imo, your post is understandable and lot of newbies wants to do same too but aren't bold enough but you made it out. I comprehend your writing although writing error might occur but who cares as far as I can understand what you wrote.

Now you don't have a laptop/desktop it's a disadvantage to you but it doesn't mean you can't learn what you wish to learn though it's required but gradually you will find the need hence get one for yourself.

Though I don't have enough technical knowledge but I can give you some few links to study and after reading through if you. find any area so difficult you can use the search button to find your answers here in the forum because many people have talked about literally almost everything but if you still don't understand from your search then you can ask questions here.

Here is a list of threads/articles you have to read to start understand technical stuffs;

There are lot more that are supposed to be in the links but it's a good start you can learn gradually from those links.

best regards

1153  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: RBF. What are the dangers of making it mandatory for all Transactions? on: December 17, 2023, 09:53:03 PM
The question is in the title.

RBF. What are the dangers of making it mandatory for all Transactions?
Imo, if made mandatory it can be used for fraudulent activities but it also protect people from such situations too.
Let's take an example with you privacyG, let's say want to buy a goods from you and you use Bitcoin as payment method I can scam you with RBF.

If I order a product from you and RBF is enabled I can send the payment with a low transaction fee and after some time I received my product from you, I can just go back and replaces the transaction with my own address and send back to myself with a higher transaction fee if the transaction is still unconfirmed hence I have scam you.

1154  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: is there an app/tool out there which gives u fee threshold notification/alert on: December 17, 2023, 09:10:30 PM
Although, I don't fully get your question, still I suggest you visit this topic.
[Telegram Bot] Bitcoin Fees - fees and tx tracker
If this is the type of notification you're looking for you can input the exactly transaction fees price you want and you will receive the notification of it when your have an Internet connection but if No! Then I don't think there is an app that sends such notification if there is then I don't know about it.
1155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Secure your crypto wealth by not having it all in crypto on: December 17, 2023, 01:10:29 PM
I usually have such thought in mind head too, like how do I stay safe from this hacks when I get up to a high amount of assets in my wallet.

So diversification is required whether into a physical asset of virtual asset, my conclusion was hang around having different wallets and split this virtual assets into smaller pieces and move to different wallets to keep hackers eye off one big wallet with alot of cryptocurrencies in it.

I could also diversify into physical asset but taxes and other factors discouraged that decision.
1156  Other / Meta / Re: To login I had to go thru over 50 captcha is this normal? on: December 17, 2023, 01:00:00 PM
It's normal to have such experience with captcha

But apart from bypassing the Captcha there is a button that says stay logged in. You can click on it while logging in and stay logged in if your using a personal device there is no need to log out regularly you can just use it and refresh the page any time you will be active again.
1157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Projects for investment on: December 17, 2023, 12:32:06 PM
Can such projects be found nowadays?

Yeah it's possible to see projects that will grow in future, every other project started small and now are grown to their ATH.

But the major problem faced with finding good projects is the rate of shitty project. Scam projects are all other the place having similar condition with good projects hence keeping people away from small projects coming up. Most of the projects are solely for selfish reason after a little pump they all dump to 95% and never rise again.

But it's now matter of luck if you look critically in their white paper and find anyone worthy of your investment you can as well do justice by investing.
1158  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I finally sold my computer and bought bitcoin. I don't regret . on: December 17, 2023, 12:14:51 PM
Since you said your in college and you have a spare Samsung laptop good for you. well congratulations on your first purchase of Bitcoin. maybe that's the best decision you could think of right now to be part of Bitcoin imo it still a good one.

I just hope your making the right choice not to regret any action towards Bitcoin investment. now you have a seed planted it will be very good of you to water it regularly via DCA, As a college student your keep up money can serve as your water to increase you stash.

At the end nobody gives a fuck about whatever you do but don't fuck yourself trying to impress the forum on your purchase buddy.

Its better to DCA than to sell something to buy Bitcoin
Yeah your not wrong either but he said his a college student and at that can only DCA if his receiving a regular income to DCA on a weekly or monthly basis.
1159  Economy / Economics / Re: Forces of Inflation: Turkey's Central Bank Boss Will Move In With Her Parent on: December 17, 2023, 11:36:30 AM
Inflation rate is quit high but I don't see it to be the reason for the Central Bank Cheif to move with her parents, she doesn't want to reveal what caused her action but had to use inflation as an excuse, no matter how had a country is I believe with her level she should own at least a house in the city, think about it she's an economist and has at least the capability to own an estate in the city with her influence but she has non. How is it possible to hold such position in a country and be homeless to an extent of moving in with her parents imho the story isn't clear.

For the less privilege I think they will always survive in any condition because they are the source of agricultural products in the economy, most of the people in the rural areas focus on agriculture for survival has less worries about the economy of the country because they produce nature product for consumption.
1160  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I earn merit? on: December 16, 2023, 11:15:03 PM
If you look at those people that has this tons of merit you will find another thing close to it as activity which means they have been doing some activities that resulted to merits.

If you want to be like them you need to go here https://learnmeabitcoin.com/ and read all about Bitcoin written in there and whatever you don't understand you can come back to the forum and use search button and find the thread that has the answers but if it's complicated to you can always ask questions. Go try it out buddy!

Best regards
