Ireland lost the Test series by a big margin against Sri Lanka but they had good start in the 2nd Test and I think they have done well as Test cricketers and if they get a chance to play Test cricket consistently they can gain more experience. Next Jun 01 Ireland team will play a test match against England. If this way they get a chance with the strong team then they can be known as one of the best teams in Test cricket in the future. Perhaps being a weak team, they won't get more than one or two Test matches on any tour. The number of matches is less but they will gradually gain experience from that positions.
Ireland have lots of cricket coming up this year. Next Month Bangladesh is coming to Ireland for 3 ODIs followed by Ireland tour to England for 1 Test and 3 ODIs. CSK will definitely missing MSD alot after retirement from IPL. In this season their team has less big name from other countries but still in good form and they have ability to win this final if they play in consistency.

When we see the results and the below picture sometime later in the future, we may say that the T20 series was drawn and the trophy was shared between the two captains but the fact is that I will consider this as a loss for the Pakistan team. They can't defend 190+ targets after getting some quick wickets is a serious question on their bowling performance.  The smile on Babar Azam's face doesn't suit him  It's a big loss and still no worries on face of Babar Azam. We are used to such pictures after every home series since last year. If such NZ team which is without its main player can draw a series against Pakistan then imagine fate of Pakistan against fully loaded NZ squad. Ireland scored 103 runs for the loss of three wickets in 26 overs. I wouldn't say they are playing badly yet. Because Ireland's top order has always been weak. The team is heavily dependent on Balbirnie, Tector and Stirling. I expected a big innings from Tector. But he managed to collect only 18 runs. With Tector at the crease, Ireland's other players are confident of performing well. However, Balbirnie is playing well enough. He is unbeaten by collecting 55 runs. If Balbirnie and Stirling play well, Ireland will be able to score big in the first innings.
Ireland lost 3 wickets at lunch and score is 106. This is much better performance as compared to first test where Ireland were bowled out at 143 and 168 runs. Ireland must try to score somewhere around 250. This will boost confidence of there bowlers. The captain Andy Balbirnie who scored just 10 runs in both innings of first innings is fighting hard today and is not out on 57 runs. Congratulations RCB for defeating the RR in a highly thrilling match. RR Won the toss and elected to bowl first. In RCB batting combination of Virat Kohli AB de Villiers, and Glenn Maxwell for the RCB has been reliable and Scored 189 in 20 Overs. They may have been the team main performers. In RR trent boult and Sandeep Sharma picked up 2, 2 wickets but RCB demonstrated their batting prowess thanks to Glenn Maxwell who scored a scorching 77 runs off just 44 balls and also contributed two excellent overs and Faf du Plessis brilliant 62 runs helping to 7 run victory for RCB Maxwell was named Player of the Match for his outstanding Performance.
Despite losing last game RR are at number 2 while RCB position is at number 5. The competition is still very much open for top 7 teams while teams like DC, SRH and KKR are very much out from the next round race. Virat Kohli was out on very first ball of RCB innings. Its Maxwell and Faf du Plessis who scored runs from RCB yesterday. RR had a second wicket partnership of 98 runs between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Devdutt Padikkal but still weren't able to chase the target..RR are a bit unlucky in run chase. |
