11421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Founder of bitcoin??? on: August 24, 2019, 12:56:45 AM
it's funny how everyone who claims to be the founder of bitcoin seems to have lost something to prove that they are the actual founder.
also do does he know that the "hard drive" is not the only way to prove that he is the founder of bitcoin. these people who will claim
that they are satoshi should do better and not stay to the ol "I lost something to prove that I am satoshi".

I would put him on a lie detectors and see if he can prove anything, starting from his name change.
I also wonder who in the world takes pictures of old laptops if they still keep them.

Point of his 'reveal' is to introduce his company product...whatever that is,
and sadly some newbies believe him...  Roll Eyes

ETH will NEVER replace Bitcoin in a million years.
Ethereum blockchain is full and it will more likely explode before it replaces anything.

What about staking? 2020 or 2120?
And when staking is done....don't expect bug free ETHtime

11426  Other / Beginners & Help / [LEARN & EARN] Phishing Quizzes - Beginners & Experts ( on: August 23, 2019, 11:21:24 PM
Pass at least TWO phishing Quizzes from this topic, post screenshot evidence and you will receive merits from me.

Phishing is used to steal users data, passwords, private keys,
login information, credit card info, and any other valuable information.
Scammers create duplicate website or email with few modifications,
and ask people to send them their information.

So in a way they need to trow you a bait (read human greed),
and if you catch the bait you become a victim of Phishing,
just like a fisherman uses a bait for fishes.

Internet waters are deep with many 'sharks', so you need to always keep your eyes opened,
and you need to educate yourself to avoid becoming a victim.

Beginners or Experts, Have Fun, Learn, Educate yourself and Test your knowledge by solving Phishing Quizzes.

1. Google Phishing Quiz

2. OpenDNS Phishing Quiz

3. Nexustek phishing scam quiz

4. Binance Phishing Quiz

11427  Other / Archival / Re: Huawei Chinese version of Libra ? on: August 23, 2019, 08:54:03 PM
They are already controlling Bitcoin mining and exchanges (Binance, etc...). They don't really need a Libra. WeChat already has his own payment system.

Correct.
And as we know that Chinese government is also creating their own state based digital coin,
and Huawei is very advanced with their 5G and face recognition software being installed all over the woirld,
then I am sure that Huawei will push very hard to compete with US and be the first to create their centralized coin.
11428  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mining Bitcoin at a nuclear power station in Ukraine on: August 23, 2019, 08:44:00 PM
This is not first time it has been done also.
One year ago guys in Russian city of Sarov also did the same thing.

11429  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mining Bitcoin at a nuclear power station in Ukraine on: August 23, 2019, 08:21:47 PM
This is a criminal offense using reserved energy without permission to mine bitcoin.
Bitcoin mining needs high quality of power supply so people can go the extra mile to do so.
In terms of the environment with the recent amazon fire out break this calls for more attention to any environment hazard and a cleaner way to mine bitcoin would be another breakthrough

This thing is not specific only for Ukraine, but it can be noticed in all ex-communist countries from the whole world,
asian as well as east-european and south-americans are 'using' old state factories to mine Bitcoin, without need to pay electricity bills.
Now... after watching TV show Chernobyl, I think messing with this to mine Bitcoin is crazy, but I am not surprised at all ...

Nice find! Just look at a ll that lousy photoshop work...

It is tricky thing to create ANN thread for someone else, as it could ruin your reputation.
So better to think twice before you decide to do it.
Double check team and write notice that you are only the creator of ANN and not a part of the team.

Download should be place in releases section on Github website,
and maybe you should label it as beta testing, since it is not yet released in Chrome store

Overall it is looking nice, but I am waiting to see better merit script integrated

Interesting idea for quote notification, and maybe I will test it myself.

My questions are:
- how can I disable notifications if I don't want receive then anymore?
- is any user data collected?

Thanks

11435  Other / Meta / Re: Announce our Home Blockchain Computer. What subforum? on: August 23, 2019, 02:45:01 PM
Hi bitcointalk members.

We have developed a "Blockchain Computer" storage mining and content mining device. It's basically a device that allows you to upload videos and files and turn them in to assets/tokens that can be traded and also you can make money from sharing your storage/bandwidth. we want to announce it to the industry,  which is the best place on the forum to start a thread about it?

Altcoin announcements?  Token announcements?  mining hardware? marketplace?

Our POC uses the ethereum mainnet and our own swarm ipfs.  but eventually it will have its own chain.

Which category would this fit in to?

Since you are offering some service , best place to post it first is Service Announcements category:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=84.0

My account level is not high enough to post images.  this is a problem.

you can simply pay small fee to become copper member and post images,
or be more active to reach Junior Member rank with activity and merit,
or third solution is to pay someone else to create and manage topic for you.

copper pay:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=credit;promote

Do you have any official links, website, etc?

Tele token:

It is also a good thing to have Metamask and Malwarebytes extensions installed in your browser to protect from some phishing websites,
but scammers always create new websites and there is no 100% protection against this.

Few more websites to report phishing websites:

Dobre analize i vrlo korisna tema!

Ovo je sve work in progress, i nemam 100% jasnu ideju kako urediti sve.
