IRS: Only 800 People Reported Bitcoin Earnings Per Year

IRS: 800 PEOPLE PER YEAR REPORTING AND FALLING

The exchange and wallet provider is currently facing enforced submission of its transaction records after the IRS went to court earlier this month.

In data released as part of the lawsuit, the authority reveals that in 2015 only 802 people reported Bitcoin gains on tax form 8949, and that the number had been decreasing year on year.

“The IRS searched the MTRDB for Form 8949 data for tax years 2013 through 2015,” the affidavit from IRS agent David Utzke quoted by Fortune reads.

Coinbase responded to the new pressure to reveal its customers’ history last week by saying it “remains concerned with the indiscriminate and over broad scope of the government’s summons” and its legal team was reviewing the situation.

11423  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Internet Marketing on: March 20, 2017, 10:11:24 AM
its not simple but all you need is search and find in google and gain a lot of strategy on marketing ,find good product . Because in internet marketing need a investment .

I agree with you that its not simple, but if you just used Google to find strategy then you will not succeed in IM. Because that strategy that you will find is already saturated. That's why you need a lot of trial basis and invesment as you mentioned to succeed. If you see that your strategy is not working, then you have to find new one. Experiment a lot until some time that you found the winning formula. You don't just follow, let say the website you found in Internet says that "health" niche is profitable. Then you just create a health website and sell product and thinking that you will earn instantly.
11424  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin is a good investment now, because... on: March 20, 2017, 09:34:34 AM
I think that bitcoin is now a good investment as the price of bitcoins have gone down a lot , below 1000$ . We have a prediction that the price of bitcoins would go high up at 3000$ at the end of this year.

I highly doubt that we ca reach $3000 end of the year. I  think around $2000 can be accomplish. If the ETF has been accepted, $3000 is within reach but since it is rejected it will not happen. Right now is the right time to buy bitcoin because the price is low, "buy low, sell high" as what others have been preaching. So its a good investment, if you get it when the price is down and hold it for a bit, and if you are really believing that it can peak at $3000 then buy it and hold until it goes to that price and you will profit more in the long run.
11425  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you can control your self when playing gambling? on: March 20, 2017, 09:04:52 AM
It is not most of the gamblers will forget this rule but they can't do it because of greediness. Everyone will start with some game plan but they can't implement it and they will realise only after losing all money. So the best option is always gamble with small amount of bankroll then no need to worry much about when to exit the game and also you can fully concentrate on game and enjoy your game.
That's for sure and it happen's a lot I doubt if no one has ever experience violating their game plan, the real deal is when you are in the situation of gambling because your emotion will be tested and you will know how strong you are. Actually we are good in advising others to control their emotion and play for fun but sometimes we do mistakes like this also, and as usual it will result to another bigger loses.

Most of us had experienced violating  our own gameplan.  Sometimes it is inevitable especially when the situation needs it.  As long as it gives us benefits, there is no issue about it but once it will be in our own demise then we should be worry about it.  Like when gambling even though our main plan is just to play with the initial bankroll and keep on depositing when it is emptied, that trait should be changed.

Exactly. We always had our gameplan in our mind before engaging in gambling. But once we tastes loss after loss, our gameplan was thrown out of the window and our emotions and greed take control of our mind. That's why is really difficult to control our emotions, and just like I said, its our worst enemy. That is why you should only bring money that you can afford to lose, and not bring your wallet when playing especially in a land based casino. Because if you bring your wallet, you will surely used your money in their once your bankroll is empty. I've been there and believe me its so hard to control yourself.
11426  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin price is recovering! on: March 20, 2017, 06:48:53 AM
I guess we already saw the BU vs Bitcoin Core issue that's curently plaguing the bitcoin ecosystem. We already past the ETF rejection and bitcoin price is not affected. The price wil rise up if we are going to buy it now, and it is the best time to get it because the price is down. There will be some investors out there that will buy huge amount of bitcoin secretly  Smiley that will cause the rise of bitcoin price again. Maybe not a sudden rise of price but a steady climb and we wouldn't notice the price is at the $1200-$1300 again in a few months.
11427  Economy / Speculation / Re: The rush to sell is real on: March 20, 2017, 06:01:59 AM
@n691309 Nice to hear that you are not selling now, but the problem with others is that they panic after reading a lot of crap in the internet without looking at the current issue and jump into conclusion. So panic sell all over. This is blowing out of significant level, that others jump off the board before bitcoin price dip more. to at least recover their investment. I'm sure that bitcoin will recover and survived this heck even rise to $120-$1300 in a few months or at end of the year.
11428  Other / Politics & Society / And the wiretapping saga continues on: March 20, 2017, 05:35:18 AM
The bizarre saga of President Donald Trump's claims that he was wiretapped by President Barack Obama last year reaches a dramatic climax Monday with FBI Director James Comey's testimony to the House Intelligence Committee.

It's a moment of political theater that could end in humiliation for Trump, with Comey expected to say that there was no wiretapping, debunking allegations that Trump has repeatedly refused to withdraw.

The hearing could also shed light on the state of FBI investigations into the extent of Russian meddling in the election campaign. Republicans hope Comey will state that there is no evidence of collusion between Trump aides and officials from Moscow, a move that could begin to break up a cloud of Russian intrigue that has stifled the early weeks of the administration.

11429  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The old ones starting moving against the crypto? on: March 19, 2017, 03:45:39 PM
It's happening but it's exaggerated by a lot of false information being passed around the website. My suggestion? Grab a cold pint and wait for this to all blow over

Exactly, this is blowing out of proportions because of many misleading information passed along causing panic from the bitcoin community. I'm still undecided yesterday, as to what causing the sudden price drop. But I have my own conclusion now but would rather keep it to myself. But for me, this dumping will stop a in a few days. Too much politics actually. What truly started a good year for bitcoin turns into chaos and anarchy now. I'm so disappointed and frustated. I'll just probably "grab" a cold beer now and sleep it over.  Grin

Alaska Introduces A Bill to Regulate and License Bitcoin Businesses

The State of Alaska has introduced a bill this week defining digital currency, as well as broadening its definition of money transmission to include it. A wide array of business functions would require money transmission licenses, including buying and selling through a third party, transmitting, controlling, and issuing digital currencies.

Alaska Introduces A Bill to License Bitcoin BusinessesIntroduced by representatives Zach Fansler and Sam Kito III, Alaska State House Bill No. 180 outlines a large number of amendments to the state’s existing money transmission laws which were enforced on July 1, 2008.

Currently, the Alaskan statutes declare that a person wanting to engage in the business of money transmission in any way, including advertising and soliciting for this service, must hold a money transmission license or become an authorized delegate of a person who holds a money transmission license.

11431  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC FN 107: Manuwa vs Anderson on: March 19, 2017, 02:47:18 PM
It was a good card and i won my bets with Gunnar Nelson and Joe Duffy as it was the easiest bet and my parlay win is still pending in cloudbet but the directbet winnings are back  Smiley. I knew Jimi Manuwa could knock Corey Anderson but i thought Corey will try and control him with his wrestling credibility as he was a NCAA Division III wrestler.

Hey good to know that you won dude. Gunnar Nelson and Manuwa was the easiest pick in the card. Funny thing is Jimi, calling boxer  David Haye lol. Connor setting the precedent I guess for calling Floyd. What's it with MMA now calling a boxer? I agree with him, he needs to fight the winner of DC Anthony Rumble Johnson. And he said that he has ino interest in fighting Jon Jones because he is legacy is tainted with "steroids" used.

11432  Other / Politics & Society / Re: there is no money, only weapons :) on: March 19, 2017, 01:39:13 PM
Maybe I do not know what you mean, you have to explain why there is no money and only weapon. Because I think in the war money is still very valuable. In any case money is still valuable and be used, so I do not agree with that you said no money and only weapon. In the war also need costs, even very much. So that money will still be needed.
The economy of any country which is at war is in recession. The entire industry works on the war. Accordingly, the country's big inflation. Someone in this situation need the money?
Indeed, if there is a war, currency experiencing inflation and even hyperinflation that make small value currency. But that does not mean there is no money, right? Money still exists and is used in a state of war although, only in war definitely money in a recession. It just makes the value fall and not be disappear. Maybe if we look at the war in the middle east region there are many a war, but money is still valid and used there. Therefore I asked for an explanation as to what that meant war.

Classic example of money has no value during war is in WWII. I remembered my father telling me that they can bring 1 sack of money that time but it has no or little value from them. What is important in war is resources, like oil, water, metals or irons or even golds or precious metals (but this is up for debate). Another example is Great Britain, at the onset of the war, they used their money and gold reserved to barter to other nuetral countries to help build tanks war planes etc.. This contributed to the collapsed of Great Britain financialy after the war, that gave rose to US as the superpower.
11433  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Living in slavery, forced labour and severe exploitation in Sicily. on: March 19, 2017, 01:01:09 PM
This is a billion annual dollar industry. Human trafficking affects a lot of people globally and are trafficked for many reasons like hard or forced labor and sexual exploitation. Men ofter in hard labor jobs, while women and children in prostitution or other forms of sexual exploitation.

Most likely, it was controlled by the Mafia, in Italy. Yes it is illegal in almost every country in the world. But why do it still exists in the 21th century? Simple because of widespread corruption and greed of local politicians to quickly and easily earn money in their pocket. Though national and international institutions may attempt to regulate and enforce anti-trafficking legislation, local governments and police forces may in fact be participating in sex trafficking rings.

11434  Economy / Economics / Re: panic selling on: March 19, 2017, 12:30:11 PM
Yes, its really panic selling what we are seeing right now. But I'm holding mine and won't sell because I still believe we can rebound from all of this dumping. Its disappointing to see, but I guess FUD won that's why it cause so much uncontrollable behavior from some people. I know that I'm lossing more by the day, but I still believe that this sudden dumping will stop in a few days. People need to really digest the information and not sell, so that the price could be restore to some degree of normalcy to the bitcoin ecoystem.

Qtum Smart Contracts Platform’s Crowdsale Exceeds Expectations

Blockchain technology has gained a lot of traction in the recent days as companies across industries are looking into adopting it. The increased demand, followed by innovation in the blockchain sector has given rise to platforms like Qtum. Qtum’s innovative smart contracts technology has received validation of consumer demand through its ongoing crowdsale.

The month-long Qtum crowdsale, which went underway on March 16, 2017 has received tremendous response from the cryptocurrency community. The platform has managed to raise almost 90 percent of the required funds in less than 2 days. 6 Reasons to Run a Bitcoin Full Node

Running a Bitcoin full node isn’t just for mining pools and companies. Today, we’re going to outline 6 reasons why the average user should also consider running their own Bitcoin full node.

TO NODE OR NOT TO NODE?

With current events pointing towards a possible change in the Bitcoin consensus rules, it is important to remind users that, now more than ever, there are multiple advantages to running a Bitcoin full node.

It is advisable that users run the popular Bitcoin Core client, as there may be certain risks to running less popular clients like Bitcoin Unlimited. Only two days ago, a bug was found and exploited on the Bitcoin Unlimited client, which led a large portion of BU nodes to go offline. The problem was fixed and the BU node count has since recovered.

11437  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitflyer: Japanese Bitcoin exchange with most trade volume on: March 18, 2017, 02:19:33 PM
Yes,bitflyer has overthrown US exchanges surprisingly.Japan seems to embrace bitcoin all of a sudden. The battle is between Flyer and Quoine to become largest bitcoin exchange in japan.China remains no1 in bitcoin trading with 91% of trading volumes.

Yes, Japan has been betting on bitcoin on the last couple of months. While China is still the dominant country in terms of bitcoin trading, Japan is following suit as well. There are no fee's as well in Japan exchanges if I'm not mistaken. Maybe their is a friendy bitcoin law is Japan, that's why a lot of Japanese is investing in it as well or using bitcoin as mode of payment. Either way, we will see Japan as a dominant force in trading (whether fake volume or not  Smiley) in the future.
11438  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin deep to $1070 best time to buy. on: March 18, 2017, 01:17:46 PM
This is an excellent buying opportunity, obviously.

There is no fork planned. Do your research.
This was a very manipulated correction.

Manipulation is always when market moves against a trader. It moves up - traders scream manipulation, it moves down - traders scream manipulation, it moves down but not enough - traders scream manipulation.

you only think that because you are not looking deep enough into what people say. obviously some people are full of it no matter what they say. but mostly when people say manipulation there is a reason behind it.
example:
- when ETF rejected and price dropped, it was obviously manipulation. use your brain. why should it drop? was ETF necessary for bitcoin? was ETF a fundamental thing for bitcoin?
- when price dropped in the past 2 days what was the reason? was there really a fork? did bitcoin split? did BU have enough hash power to even be remotely close to a fork? does even fork mean split?

the answer to all above answers with a little bit of brain power is NO which leaves us with only other explanation: manipulation

this is true about price rise also. when price goes from x to x +20%x in 1-2 days it is a pump. when price increases 130% in 5 minutes (check altcoins) it is obviously manipulation.

As I have said in the previous thread, I can't still made up my mind on why the sudden dump on bitcoin. ETF is a non-factor, we already proved it, BU issue probably, but as you have said, maybe not. Winklevoss twins or other entity entities "maybe" behind this price manipulation. But if Winklevoss doing it, but why now? Why not after 2 days after the rejection? is there an secret entity or entities who are really behind this price manipulation? I don't know. Maybe you are right. this is the correct price of bitcoin after the ETF and not %1200-1300 as we have. My speculation is that after ETF, the base price is $900, and we are near that price right now.
11439  Economy / Economics / Re: Are the Winklevoss twins selling off their Bitcoin stash? on: March 18, 2017, 12:04:44 PM
The winklevoss twins just got rejected by the SEC and that does not make them want to sell off their coins and show that it can be manipulated by a single entity and that is one of the issues SEC will be looking at if they have to approve this it has to be fool proof and manipulation should be shelved and termed illegal

But we witness exactly that right now

I mean the practical proofs that Bitcoin is likely manipulated by a single entity and that seems to be the primary reason behind the ETF rejection. I don't say that this single entity are the twins themselves, but in this situation it doesn't really make any difference to them already. Their ETF application has been rejected by now, and they have basically nothing to lose if they take an opportunity to fix profits and sell off massively. If not them, then someone else will and exactly that he does straight away. So it is all six of one and half a dozen of the other to them, anyway you look at it

I can't still made up my mind as to who is really dumping bitcoin for now. Because if the twins is doing it, why not just now? Why not after a day or two after the ETF has been rejected? It's seems that other entity or entities, besides the Winklevoss twins are trying to manipulate it? I initially thought that the price will be stable after the ETF and its a non-factor for the price of bitcoin. But currently, this is not the case. Whether entity or entities behind is doing it or other factors like the BU issue is causing a lot of investors to dump bitcoin right now.
11440  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Drug free in the Philippines on: March 18, 2017, 10:54:41 AM
You can't expect to have a drug free country 100%. Look what happened after they stop tokhang because of those extra judicial killings as several people who previously engaged in drug activity gone back on doing the same things again for the reason of there's no one monitoring them. Unless the crusade for drugs continues it can be controlled but not totally eradicated.

As least to an extend put a control on it so not to let The Philippines turn into a narco-drug countries like Mexico or Columbia. That's why they are doing operation Tokhang 2 because they are going at drugs again. Even countries with strict drug laws have people still doing drugs so you can't totally eradicate it in our society. There are still millions of Filipinos who are still drug dependent, if the government can minimize it then it will be good for the country I guess.
