11481  Other / Meta / Re: Czech threads - deleted! on: June 24, 2016, 08:00:55 AM
Ok, so there is no place in this forum for that coin? What kind of censorship is this? really guys?
This has nothing to do with censorship. If the thread is in Czech, then no. If it is in English, then there's a section. Here it is:

If there is no dedicated altcoin section it must be in the general section. sounds prety clear to me
No, trashcoins certainly need not be in the general section.
11482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Corporate takeover - What will you do? on: June 24, 2016, 07:39:51 AM
If you manage to somehow convince/bribe/harass some developers into accepting a new Bip to change a core aspect of the protocol, you would be half way there.
No, that's not how Bitcoin development works. A single developer, can not push anything without consensus. There are only certain people with commit access and those changes would be reverted and their access would be revoked.

<Everyone has their price> Then you pay enough shills to get community support and then you setup loads of nodes to accept the new fork and the new client and you A4away.. right? Consensus are achieved when you have the most nodes accepting the new fork.
That's not how consensus achieved. That's a sybil attack.

Decentralized currency are community driven and money can't always buy community support just like how soft fork of ethereum won recently.
ETH is an example of how you turn a decentralized blockchain into a centralized one.

But private local banks may implement decentralized coin banked by fiat very soon in some of the countries, but i am not seeing any of them will be to replace bitcoin at all.
The idea was to ditch the banks, not wait for them to innovate and then re-join them.
11483  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Anonymous Enough For You? on: June 23, 2016, 06:28:17 PM
But if you use different address or exchange's address then surely no trace is possible theoretically.
This is not true. It is possible, it is just much harder and requires access to more information.

Though I have seen some guys been traced, so yeah awesome that anonymous yet secured.
Bitcoin is actually pseudo-anonymous. Whoever is advertising it as completely anonymous is spreading partially-true information. Besides, nothing is 100% anonymous.

and also my bitcoin address is not linked to my identity so i am in fact anonymous! so nobody on the internet can not find me.
This is what makes Bitcoin anonymous enough. For those that need more anonymity there are other options such a mixing or anonymous altcoins. More improvements for privacy should come in the future.

Yes Bitcoin is anonymous enough for me. I have dozens of addresses. You can trace all my moves, but I am not doing anything illegal, so I don't really care.
No. Nobody can 'really' trace your moves as long as you don't publish your ownership of said addresses somewhere. They can track the transactions but would have no idea who they belong to.

This video actually describes how the situation unfolded (without going too much into the details). This video is golden and needs to be watched by everyone: Bruce Wanker Talks about The DAO attack

11485  Other / Meta / Re: How to contact Theymos on: June 23, 2016, 05:34:14 PM
If the issue is genuine , then how much time will it take to clear the details like, if someone got hacked his account and he has all details about that account and he has the messages where he has used his wallet address and can even sign message from the wallet address. So after giving all details ?
How could theymos know whether all the necessary information was given in a PM in advance? This can only speed up resolution time, not the time until he actually acknowledges and starts handling the problem.

How much time will it take for THEYMOS to clear that account.
There is no clear answer to this question. Depending on the conditions at the time, it could happen within a few days and upwards of a few weeks. These things don't have priority as the user is usually at fault.

because i have seen so many messages and thread in regards of their account getting hacked and even after months they are not able to retrieve it back.
This has very low priority, especially for new accounts.

11487  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: R0ACH is ENVIOUS of ETHEREUM and other innovators on: June 23, 2016, 02:38:59 PM
What kind of innovation are we talking about? Centralized blockchains with coin control? Roll Eyes Threads like these are truly pointless.

Notice how the ethereum enthusiast haven't been as vocal the last few days Wink
They're working hard on removing the 'de' from decentralized.

This gem that someone shared recently is definitely worth watching: ETH situation summarized in one short video.
11488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think bitcoin is one new step for sucess. on: June 23, 2016, 02:36:02 PM
If you join Bitcoin because your main reason is to profit, then you've already made your first mistake. Bitcoin would already be revolutionary if the people were not led on by greed and full of ignorance.

Can new generation be independent and will bitcoin help for personal development.
The new generation and personal development? Those terms can rarely be used together nowadays, and that is a sad fact.
11489  Other / Meta / Re: How to contact Theymos on: June 23, 2016, 01:34:46 PM
I understand that he prob get slam from thousand of spam and support tickets but I think 3 month is way too long to wait for a reply
You need to send him the PM again after some time since it probably gets buried by so much content that it is not worth going through.

well from my experience if u send a message that is worth it he does reply.
That is not necessarily the reason for which he does not answer certain PM's for a while. It primarily comes down to how much free time he has and how big the 'backlog' is.
11490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are You Cashing out of BTC before Everyone else Does or are you a BTC bagholder? on: June 23, 2016, 01:06:09 PM
A complete loss of confidence and a subsequent fall into oblivion is one reason. But yes, you're right, even then there will be a "market", escrow trading here and there would be one worse case scenario, a back to the cave scenario, but real markets with LIQUIDITY, well, that's another story. And there are tons of things that could lead to such a pessimistic reality, from what's happening now with ETH to a possible power outage with just one major miner in China that could cause the blockchain to freeze for weeks (maybe even months depending on the reaction of other miners and whether they were to completely jump ship or not), etc., etc.
These are all doomsday scenarios with slight probabilities. Let's say that a miner holding 30% loses all their power for some time. The difficulty adjustment would take a maximum of ~14 days + 30%. This would not cause the "blockchain to free for weeks or even months". Bitcoin's blockchain would operate, although the time between the blocks would be increased. That's about it. As far as the case with ETH is concerned, that is not going to happen with Bitcoin. Coin-control/blacklisting was already proposed in the past and was frowned upon. The day that Bitcoin implements either one of those, is the day that Bitcoin deserves to die.

11491  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Incentives for Core, Classic, XT and Unlimited on: June 23, 2016, 12:25:57 PM
I would like to post it in a week or so, when my analysis is done
That would be great.

However, at the moment, there is too few respondents too make it useful for me or interesting for you.
It is unfortunate that a considerable amount of users that spam can't even spend 1 minute of their time to participate in a single survey. Hopefully you will get more people to participate soon. Keep in mind that you are allowed to bump this thread once every 24 hours.
11492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are You Cashing out of BTC before Everyone else Does or are you a BTC bagholder? on: June 23, 2016, 12:16:08 PM
Too late. The price is in freefall and no floor has been reached as yet.
Gotta love these attempts at spreading FUD.

Personally I think a double top is optimistic and would be looking for a 61.8 retrace to sell into (with LTC as well), and then go away until early next year . . . if there is still a market in crypto then, of course.
There is no reason for there not to be a market.

Markets look like someone cashed out a lot of LTC trying to stabilize BTC , but the attempt failed as BTC continues on it's downward trek.
You must be the dumbest person alive if you think BTC going down is a positive thing for your proof of stake scamcoin "zeitcoin".  Nobody on earth is ever going to use that for anything.  The best you can do is pray BTC rises and flail your arms around and say "look at me, I'm a blockchain too.  Someone mistakenly "invest" in me for no reason", then pray the BTC rise brings you a new greater fool.
Some people are really ignorant and foolish. They panic as the world is going to collapse as soon as the price starts correcting itself (which is what any rational mind should expect), even though it is still up over 30% in the 30 days range. Additionally, they promote these little pathetic attempts at altcoins in the hopes that it will gain adoption one day. There is definitely potential to profit in the altcoin market, but you can forget about one of these shitcoins having a nice future.
11493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Again spam-attack on Bitcoin network? 22.06.2016 on: June 23, 2016, 11:58:02 AM
This is interesting since the fee is constant and so is the TX size (approximately). I can't say for sure what the nature of these transactions is, but it surely does not seem 'normal' as the pattern is repetitive. The fee included seems decent 149 701 satoshi/kB.

oh that's the reason why Bitcoin price reduced  Huh Huh
No. Stop worrying about the price and move price-related talk to the appropriate section (Speculation).

I think that the network is fine at the moment. I don't see nothing unusual on my mempool.
11494  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Corporate takeover - What will you do? on: June 23, 2016, 09:16:21 AM
They only need to get consensus once, to change some of the core building blocks of Bitcoin, to change it forever. Let's say, one of them will be the Bitcoin cap or the miners reward.
They can't achieve consensus by just increasing the numbers of nodes exponentially and gaining mining power. I'm not sure you know how this works. Besides, the current 'holders', developers, miners, users would reject it.

Do not take this too serious, I am just playing around with different scenarios.
Maybe you should think about more important things instead of wasting your time on improbable scenarios. This reminds me of the people worrying about SHA256 collisions, even though a meteorite that wipes out humanity has a higher probability.

It would be cheaper and easier to start an altcoin, and to promote that.
Exactly.

bitcoin strengthens altcoins, and altcoins strengthens bitcoin.
Some altcoins. 99% of the others are trash.

Thank you for letting us know that you're a signature spammer. This saves us a considerable amount of work. After a review of the last few pages of posts, it seems like a ban is definitely due.
11496  Other / Meta / Re: How to contact Theymos on: June 23, 2016, 06:02:42 AM
These things usually take a long time. Sending him a PM here is the right way of contacting him: theymos.
11497  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ToominCoin aka "Bitcoin_Classic" #R3KT on: June 23, 2016, 05:57:19 AM
Why do things by half measures? Behold, Bitcoin Classic 1.1.0! Grin
That's a horrible manipulation attempt. Additionally, I've recently found out that one of the Classic supporters/developers, Toomin, is in support of blacklisting/coincontrol as proposed in ETH. I wonder what the planned soft-fork for Bitcoin was.  Roll Eyes
11498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Average block size was 0.951 MB on: June 22, 2016, 11:19:42 PM
Don't you want more users? I wish millions would use BTC daily, if only the network could handle them. I only have a few BTC, but the amount I have has been steadily growing, and my monthly average number of transactions has been increasing too. I believe that's the case for most users, and that's also the goal. Don't we all want BTC to be used more and more often by more and more people?
If it turns Bitcoin into a centralized (or even semi-centralized) platform, the answer is no. If the network is able to handle it, then the potential 'capacity increase' and the users are welcome.

Unfortunately, a fixed block size limits all kind of growth.
No. A fixed block size limit prevents the system from destroying itself because it is not able to handle big block size limits. As an example, Segwit aims to scale down validation time to make it linear (currently quadratic). Once the proper infrastructure is in place, then an appropriate increase of the block size limit is not a bad idea (even though hard forks carry risks).
11499  Other / Meta / Re: Is the forums source code available somewhere? on: June 22, 2016, 07:49:28 PM
Thanks for the reply. Sometimes if i am making a thread where the image covers the whole width of the post sometimes on regular SMF it will introduce side scrolling within the post whereas this forum resizes the images and makes it so that there is never and side scrolling.
You can just use the 'Preview' function to verify whether the size is appropriate. Additionally, it is easy to adjust the width using this example (200px width):
Code:

11500  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Incentives for Core, Classic, XT and Unlimited on: June 22, 2016, 07:37:25 PM
Basically, they differ on the question of blocksize.
Core wants to keep at 1MB
In that case that this still interests you and/or you want to make use of the information in the future: When it comes to scaling, Core wants to take a different (better) approach and will start with Segwit (which will improve the TPS once adopted).

Many softwares but as I pointed out in the survey I think the most reliable is the Bitcoin Core.
Of course. Classic has practically no developers aside from 1 man (looking at the past 2-3 months and the commits). This non-existing team (even if it includes Gavin and Toomin) can't be compared to the people working on Core.

Are the results of this 'survey' going to be posted here? If so, when?

Update: Ignore the off-topic rambling from the troll under me.
