It is very emotional and silly to say it is a scam. That being said, I at least believe there are some worrying problems with it: 1 - too many tokens in the hands of few, this can easily translate in pump 'n dump to corner the market; 2 - the main differential, smart contracts, cannot be clearly defined by them, nor can they provide really ground breaking innovative working examples of it. 2.1 - Question 1: what is the difference between smart contracts and a bunch of "if...then...else..." routines? (don't tell me it has to be "turing complete" because it sounds like bull) 2.2 -Question 2: how does the ethereum platform is superior to any other platform over a blockchain where so-called smartcontracts can be implemented? (this answer clearly depends on the "uniqueness" of what a smartcontract is, that is, question1's answer) 3 - that auction of domain names valid for 1 year, that diminished my trust in it, simply because you are offering in a purely commercial way a sort of asset/privilege/domain, for a short period of time, of something is not even clearly defined, let alone develop, that will convey business on such "ecosystem". In sum: capitalizing a puff of smoke, looks like. Don't get me wrong, ethereum enthusiasts, but these questions are found wanted. Agree. If it ever was a scam, it's now moved too far to ever look like one anymore. We have to ditch this emotional garbage and pay attention to what ETH is now. 1. Agree, and when PoS happens, the hodlers will become even richer, even faster. 2. Smart contracts were indeed overhyped, and any respectable crypto can implement. 3. Not sure what you're talking about, but ETH is always connected to some sort of enterprise, which is why I cannot see it the same way I see Bitcoin.

It's not just in Australia. Property in general in Asia and even in Europe are always in some kind of bubble. And when that bubble bursts, it seems they fall 15% maximum before going on the next bubble again. I've been waiting for property/housing to drop in my country, but it seems people just keep holding or dropping slightly below listing, before rising again.

I very like ETC although this coin not listing on your list, but I think ETC is one of altcoin potential after ETH, just wait when ETH change to PoS and see the price ETC again, maybe x20 But if we're talking about 2017, this year. Even if ETH switches to PoS in November, that's still only 2 months for miners to start moving to ETC (and that's a big IF). I think ETC isn't a bad choice for alts, it is stable in price. But to see it gain even x2 value this year isn't likely.

I read somewhere that by 2019/20, miners will own about half of Ethereum (mainly because a lot of it was premined thanks to ETH's crowdfunding at its launch). There's also bound to be more miners now because of ETH price (even early this year it was still unprofitable to mine). Somehow it also discourages pools and centralisation of hashpower... so it sounds like a "dream" of decentralised mining by home users but at the same time this was offset because of its huge premine.

Your best and easiest bet is to keep messaging support and keep complaining without fail until they finally resolve your situation. In my experience as long as you are a pain in the ass they will quickly discover its easier to fix your problem than to keep delaying it.
Very unfortunate but very true. Even in real life, I find I have to spend hours and hours complaining and asking. When it comes to business, everyone is happy to take your money but if it's about refunds, payments, returns etc. you have to keep bugging them until some higher management decides to solve your issue.

Not exactly sure how this works but here's my application:
Short-term Goal: $250 would be nice as that's about 0.1 BTC right now.
Medium-term Goal: $3,000 is my dream of getting 1 BTC to keep and hold.
Long-term Goal: $5 million would be my retirement goal for myself and for my family (parents), which is 25 years from now. I believe that this is achievable with a bit of luck, the right advise and the right timing. If I can make $100 into $1,000 in my first year, grow that to $10,000 in my 2nd and $50,000 by my fifth year, than I don't see why $5 million is out of reach. We've all seen crypto dreams come true. It's my turn!
Is English Your Native Language? It is my second language, I am improving with every year.
Are you fluent in at least 2 languages? Yes, Malay, English.
Do you want to be considered for a paid position in the future? Of course, as long as I am rewarded fairly.
What do you Love to Do, and do you consider yourself skilled at that activity? I love reading and learning, and sharing my learning. I consider myself quite good at talking to people in general.

Maybe once Bitcoin's scaling issue does the temporary fix, ICOs will again choose Bitcoin. This ETH volume is simply from the dozens of ICOs out there, currently ETH tokens are so sexy and people are buying into it.

Earlier today, Bitcoin price was close $3000 and reached $3000 in some exchanges, and it's now dropping. This is not good. For how long is going to keep on doing this? But I know it's a good thing for those who are willing to buy their first BTC. Hopefully they just can't wait until it reaches the $1500 mark.
It's all fine when the price goes up with a few hundred bucks in a short time, but if the price goes down a few hundred bucks, it has become a problem suddenly? 10% drops are a frequent occurrence in current market circumstances, nothing to weird or special here. You can't expect all people to firmly hold their coins without cashing out a small portion of their coins at current levels. Bitcoin for most people is an investment tool after all... Indeed. 10% fluctuations in a day are very normal for a lot of markets, and for something still as very volatile as Bitcoin, this is to be fully expected. It has shot up much more in the same period of time. As price gets higher, the 10% becomes more. Remember when it was moving hundreds of dollars at 600-1000? That's bigger swings percentage wise.

Backing up this crowdsale too. Would love to have a decentralized exchange too. Hope there's a decentralized trollbox too!!! Oh god please, if there is a chat box, it should be very, very separate from the main page haha! I love chatting with others too but not if all I see is spam and the chat moves too quickly to read. AND it shouldn't make my main page laggy!

Sorry if this is not useful information, but since I am a newbie, and this will be my first ICO (also my first signature campaign!) I would like to announce that I will participate with 0.01 BTC by end of this week. Yes, it's not much but it is actually my first significant amount earned over many weeks/months.
It's also very new to me to register for a counterparty wallet. I don't know any friends who have done it so it will be a good learning step for me. I'll update in a few days how it goes.

It's a little sad to see that coins like these get a lot of crap just because of technical issues that even Bitcoin is not immune to. As usual, alts are judged on market price and not its development. Strong, developing alts is good for everyone. Hope we can eventually understand this.

Mixed news. Good because now you can use Bitcoin through Bitpoint/Evolable to pay for rooms. Bad news because this just means more centralisation, and possibly higher fees since it has to go through Bitpoint/Evolable.
Better news: 1400 hotels and inns accept Bitcoin directly.

There will be controversy however you put it if you're talking about ICOs. Many thought 2016 was the year of ICOs but already June and we're looking at probably more than last year especially thanks to ETH. Bancor might start a trend.

Billionaires? Even millionaires won't mind buying a few bitcoins. The extremely wealthy have a lot of room to take risks, and something like this must have reached their attention. If not, their financial advisers are sure to have informed and convinced them to get into Bitcoin.

the strangest thing about probability is that you never know what can come next. The 0.0001% chance can come at first 1000 rolls and it can come after 2000k rolls too. So don't judge it depending upon the reds you can always verify each roll and if you find it unfair no matter of you winning or loosing just leave the site and alert others too.
Exactly! I read in the forums how some guy hit the jackpot for lottery on his 1st day... the odds was 1 in 20 billion or something like that. When he hit it, we can't say something is wrong. Probability is not about how soon to expect a hit. You can test your "luck" at some sites and check after you make more 1 million bets and see it is more or less correct.

I am 50-50 in wanting price to drop to 2,000 for long-term stability, as well as in wanting price to break 3,000 so confidence can remain.
I think whatever happens after the fork, Bitcoin won't suffer too much - all the damage that was supposed to be done has already been done.

I won't be surprised if many of the listed coins will gain a lot of value AND lose them this year alone. So many already have shot up last month and you can watch them dropping off even now. I like Litecoin, it won't be growing like crazy anymore thanks to the current price but it won't also lose a lot. Hard for me to get into a coin with limited use so can't see beyond LTC and ETH.

I tried two times in the past apply for Twitter for FB campaigns (I have only <50 followers on both) but once was rejected and another never paid, so I sort of lost interest after the second time. It felt like too much work for nothing, but I would like to try again soon, just the problem now there are almost none who will take people with few friends/followers.
My 40 are more active than most people's 4,000:)
