11522  Economy / Economics / Re: 🔵 Facebook Agrees to Pay $5 BILLION, BUT will they ever stop?? on: August 16, 2019, 07:27:52 PM

However, if they built something that could basically track your expenses to make sure they sell your spending data to other companies for marketing purposes (which could be used for evil like Cambridge Analytica was used) than we can totally understand what kind of company facebook is and what the direction they are taking even with the penalty they took. We just need time to realize and process what will happen with Libra to give our judgement.

Yeah, and most likely this scenario will happen.
I just don't think anyone in Facebook wants to change their ways of doing things and earning money.
11523  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if you received Bitcoin from this wallet on: August 16, 2019, 07:10:02 PM
Ok you are an old member of this forum and you have staked your address, so you can recover it in case your account was hacked.

and you also did a KYC from airdrops, bounty campaigns, and various exchanges.

And on all these activities, you'll only use one address

Then one day you woke up and found out you received 10000 Bitcoin

from a wallet coming from one hacker's wallet who just hacked one big exchange..

And so many people know who you are where you are located and your status in life
because you are using only one address...

So what do you think will happen to you now..

This might very fictional but the possibility is there.

What I'm trying to emphasize is to avoid KYC and using only one address.

It depends who you are, and what your intentions are.

Scenario 1:
You would go to police asap and give them your private keys, because you are afraid hackers will kill you or you would go to prison for life.

Scenario 2:
If you are not greedy, you can talk to exchange and return them Bitcoins,
and maybe you even receive a percentage reward from that exchange ( but don't expect if it is Binance exchange Tongue)

Scenario 3:
If you are greedy, and want to risk it all, you can just say you lost your private keys...
and wait for years to move Bitcoins from there to mixer.

Scenario 4:
If you are super greedy you can change your identity, move Bitcoins to mixer, and live in N.Korea, Cuba or some other remote island country.

Scenario 5:
You can also be Crypto Robin Hood and donate all Bitcoin to all Bitcointalk members (excluding newbies and banned account)

To be serious now,
it is very important not to use only one Bitcoin address.
Any of described scenarios are just a fraction of what could happen...
and I am also not a fan of KYC, so avoid that if you can .... or look at Binance safu case...
11524  Local / Altcoins (Hrvatski) / Re: 🍀🍀 Bounty kampanje Altcoin – Signature, Telegram 🍀🍀 on: August 16, 2019, 06:53:16 PM
Slackovic,  a da probaš za promjenu neku btc kampanju?
Mnoge prihvaćaju postove i u lokalnoj sekciji,  čak i offtopic a ni zahtjevi u mnogima nisu preveliki, minimalno 15 postova,  no spam itd.

Da li ima neka normalna btc kampanja i gde ih naći?

I must say that most of scammers are getting better in plagiarizing whitepapers,
they must use some mixing tools to hide the fact they copy/pasted the text.

Hi,

A Discord bot, MEE6, told me that I won some BTC from a "giveaway" and that the rules and conditions are on this forum but when I clicked the url, it said that "The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you."

Was it a scam or is it real??

I WARNED about this evolving SCAM many times,
and I even created thread in Scam accusation section.
I also try to update it with fresh examples and new links I foun (latest one was Bitplace )

You can read more on this link with examples and all clone exchanges used.

How will you be 'cut off' exactly?
Everyone now uses Viber or Telegram,
and there are alternative social medias platforms,
and just maybe you will get more closer to your family with meeting in real life and face to face.

So you have a choice,
but you are stuck in your comfort zone like most of the people
Sooner or later, you will hear that Facebook has also bought that viber and all those other social media platform that you mentioned, don’t forget that Facebook bought whatsaap, and I think you dint know that they have bought instagram too which are the major social media platforms that we have right now other than twitter and telegram, and I am sure that it is possible to buy telegram over too, they like money too much and they can easily be bought over.

And even those social media that you mentioned, the fact that they have not yet been caught like Facebook does not mean they are not all selling our data, so there is absolutely nothing we can do for now, except we want to have our own social media platform privately, which means we have to develop it our self.

You better first explorer how Viber and Telegram are working.
They have encrypted communication, so they cant sell your info in the same way
and I was talking about connection with family members.

Do you think that Facebook will buy all and rule forever?
Please... wake up...
I am sure Telegram will NEVER sell itself to Facebook for various reasons.

In the end,
if you love Facebook then please use it and enjoy.

<…> The way the page was constructed, it looks like a decent page. <…>
It looks pretty simple to me, and lacks tons of functionality that one would expect, which is not present as presumed. It’s just a quick layout that is focused on retrieving gullible user’s private keys, with a flash of scrolling trading values that are embedded from another site.

Note: We should take into account when playing around with sites of a kind (and any in general) that they tend to track your IP amongst other things. I just went over the code in developer mode (using vpn) and, as expected, it logs the IP. Anecdotally, there are a few embedded comments in the code written in Russian.

Same thing I found for fake Brave Browser page.
It is best to avoid visiting this websites or use Tor browser while doing so.
And people should always REPORT this websites when they can

ROAD TO HERO MEMBERSHIP

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to my thread. Today i am going to share my little feelings of achieving Sr. membership rank with you all. At first from the deepest layer of my heart i wanna give millions of thanks to them who encouraged me to get into this stage. It was quite impossible for me to achieve this rank such in a short time without our community members help, guideline and encouragement. So i think all the credits goes to them.

My bitcointalk journey wasn't so smooth but i tried my best to learn every new thing which were completely unknown to me. I always tried my best to help our newbies who are completely new on this community. After the implementation of new merit system there were so many users who were getting worried about the system of new rank achievements. Yeah obviously it was hard to rank up but not impossible. I just wanna tell them; "Keep believe on you and work hard".

Every ending is nothing but a new beginning. After completing the journey of achieving Sr membership its time to move for hero membership. I hope i will get everyone beside me to complete my next milestone.

Congratulations TalkStar,
and thank you for helping clean up Bitcointalk forum with exposing scam projects.
There is so much scammers that we need all possible help in exposing them.

I can see you as Hero member soon! Wink
11535  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Biometric BTC wallet? on: August 14, 2019, 08:45:18 PM
I would never use a fingerprint as a way to secure my crypto holdings.
The quality of your print can change as years go by. A close family member of mine had difficulties getting a new ID because more than 80% of the quality of the fingerprint was lost. He works with hot water which is probably the reason his prints are almost gone. Securing your assets that way could mean trouble someway down the road.

It is very easy to duplicate fingerprint in gelatin or some similar material and make a 'backup'
but then again same can be used by hackers, so I also don't think fingerprint alone is bets for securing crypto wallet.

Please read this article of data leak that exposed biometrics of over 1 million people!

11536  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance KYC leak hack or not? on: August 14, 2019, 08:00:52 PM
We have news regarding Binance exchange and leaked KYC
https://thehackernews.com/2019/08/binance-kyc-data-leak.html

Binance responded:
https://www.binance.com/en/blog/365766157488967680/Statement-on-False-KYC-Leak

Hackers wanted 300 BTC from Binance

What do you think?
I personally do not trust any exchange including Binance,
and I do not like KYC, for this reason among others....

Means you don’t trust exchanges?where did you buy ur coins?Or haven’t you holding any?binance is a good exchange for me though the KYC thing made me bother though almost all of them are asking for KYC now so there’s no chance that you ca invest in cryptocurrency or even do trading(not unless you are going to p2p in which more expensive)

Users that cant accept the fact that binance isnt that secure, will say it isn't true. Nothing is secured after all lols
Never forget that all hackers are more genius than what we can expect so fo them nothing is impossible, even how secure a exchange but the chance of being a victim isn’t always there
Lucky that my exchangers didn’t got hacked while my assets are in their possessions

I did not buy then on Binance for sure... and that is private information Smiley

What defines 'GOOD' Binance exchange quiz?

1. They have been hacked and lost crypto multiple times.  ✔️
2. They leaked users KYC and kept quiet about it ✔️
3. They block users from many countries to access it ✔️
4. They charge hundreds of Bitcoins to list new shitcoins ✔️
5. They can switch you off whenever they want in their 'DEX' exchange ✔️

...

This fake links are shared through Telegram like Plague.
I am not exactly sure why most people prefer to use Telegram for crypto chats...
Also full of fake crypto celebs offering super duper deals.

Discord on the other hand is full of fake spam bots Mee6 that gives people 'free' Bitcoins on fake exchanges.

We are attacked from all sides :/

Do NOT trust anyone in Telegram and Discord.
Do NOT click any links.
Use Metamask, as it will detect many of this scam websites.

Question:
Branko did you reported this website to Metamask and Google?
