11541  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit activated on LTC for a while now on: May 19, 2017, 11:36:09 PM
Not like I know enough information to say if franky's points are valid... except #4. there's 1 million dollars worth of LTC for 10 malicious users to gang up and claim $100,000 each. That's still a nice amount, definitely not worthless. Dump it for BTC if so:)
11542  Economy / Services / Re: NVO.IO Signature and Avatar Campaign | Members to legendaries | [OPEN] on: May 19, 2017, 02:38:49 PM
Hello OP. Interesting wallet project I'd be happy to promote:)

I've not been having any luck at all trying to apply for signature campaigns. Reading up the rules I can't see where I could improve but here is my application!

Perfect idea for a prank:) Too bad April Fool's is over but actually I have an idea in mind but it would require the caller to be a female (I want to prank a guy). Is this possible?

11545  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the anonymity of Bitcoin causing problem globally ? on: May 18, 2017, 09:15:17 AM
in "Bitcoins" because it can't be traced

Put some time to research, how much people become prison dreaming in it.

http://www.reuters.com/article/us-netherlands-crime-bitcoin-idUSKCN0UY0V8

The article says they were caught because large amounts of cash were deposited into their bank accounts and quickly withdrawn from ATMs. Their Bitcoins were confiscated.

So in fact, they were caught because of their fiat transactions - but your point still stands, just not with that article:)
11546  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading robots - wrong assumptions made by beginners. on: May 18, 2017, 08:19:57 AM
I am not an experienced trader at all... and never tried crypto but many years ago was making very small micro lot trades on forex. I did not dare to use bots at the time, just because I am afraid I would change my mind while away from computer. Of course, bots are automated assistants. Your strategy still brings the outcome.
11547  Economy / Economics / Re: What would benefit bitcoin more? on: May 17, 2017, 03:45:07 PM
Actually, there only seems to be one answer and that's more sites using it:)

But to be clear, more gambling, HYIP, and exchanges are not as helpful... maybe even unhelpful... as proper merchants selling products/services that will accept bitcoin as payment.
11548  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🌟Bitvest🌟 - Investor Plinko, Slot, Roulette, Bit Spin | 99% Dice Released! on: May 17, 2017, 11:34:00 AM
Just want to say that I completed 10 days playing here. Nothing fantastic from me, I am a quest hunter so it's fun for me. Managed to collect 90k tokens so it's a great site (yes I dumbed betted max trying to complete a x25 quest so I will admit I am not the sharpest tack). Pity could not get into the sigcamp but thanks to all who tipped in there.
11549  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Monitoring WannaCry hackers' bitcoin addresses in real time on: May 17, 2017, 06:35:20 AM
Doesn't seem like a very good return for what seemed to be a global attack. Of course, it's possible that not much resources were used in the attack but in terms of time, it doesn't seem like a very profitable scam. Then again, maybe there were other addresses we don't know about.

And yes, as usual, media makes the hype out of Bitcoin. Nobody would give a look if the hackers asked for pesos.

After a year of more or less quiet activity, suddenly EDC is trying to relaunch in a big way. What happened to the original Devs? Just wondering who these 2 new guys are, and how they happened to come along for the ride.

11552  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-05-16] Hackers asking Bitcoin ransom not to release new Disney movie on: May 16, 2017, 10:08:01 AM
Looks like the hackers aren't very updated yet. Still asking to use Bitcoin when they know it can be traced back to them. Why not ask for Monero or something more anonymous?
11553  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WannaCry Ransomware Extorts 39 Payments Worth 6.49 BTC – TODAY on: May 15, 2017, 05:54:41 AM

This claim just won't hold water

First, a few bitcoins (which is what the hackers got so far) won't affect the price in any meaningful way, and if you doubt that, you may want to visit Bitfinex and see for yourself. Further, you implicitly assume that the hackers are never going to cash out, which is a very, very far-stretched assumption. As to me, they are going to cash out as fast as possible since it just makes no sense to keep the bitcoins which are of no particular use to them. Therefore, these bitcoins aren't going to change anything in respect to Bitcoin prices

It's not a reasonable claim at all I totally agree. Even the last time some "hacker" stole funds either BTC or ETH the two most recent ones I remember, price dropped for what, maybe a day or a few days? And that was panic sell. If all the fiat in the world were in a few big banks and people suddenly panicked, same concerns for fiat.

Like when suddenly a whole lot of investors went out of Asia in 1997, all the Asian currencies dropped. But they recovered.

So not a good claim, because it's not true and if it's true, then same issue for fiat.
11554  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Cash is better than Bitcoin. on: May 14, 2017, 04:42:13 PM
Cash and Bitcoin are apples and oranges, yes they're both fruit but they're impossibly to be better than each other. Of course I prefer having cash around to spend, but I prefer having Bitcoin to store my precious "value" Smiley
11555  Economy / Services / Re: Let's Think About the Future | Signature Campaign | (All Ranks Welcome) on: May 13, 2017, 08:36:15 PM

As long as they can provide 3rd party evidence that confirms the DDoS, then perhaps users can be a bit more forgiving but we all suspect that this is just an excuse. Once more the biggest has everyone at held as hostage. We can only wait to see what happens...
11557  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin is a good investment now, because... on: May 13, 2017, 08:11:04 AM
Because this year alone, Bitcoin has had 3 challenges that were supposed to be negative:
1. Mining pools wanting the fork and leaving main chain.
2. ETF rejection
3. Altcoin increasing dominance

Yet it broke highs in price.
11558  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BRC] Briliantcoin /POW/ Future Money creates a new reality on: May 13, 2017, 07:18:40 AM
So the only real unique aspect of this coin is the expert opinion on markets. So this is what I am most interested in and can't find... any information on where I can find this? It's already 2 months old:)
11559  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Pocket dice 100 MBTC give away - Just by click on the button on: May 12, 2017, 04:05:04 AM
Careful. Admin of site made withdrawal with very low fees and has confirmed double spend based on blockchain explorer. Ticket created, no reply after
more than 2 days.

Withdrawal tx rejected, I have stopped using account. Forget this place, many better places to play.
11560  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If only.... on: May 11, 2017, 05:36:48 AM
Sorry to hear about your experience but my advice? Don't look back in regret:)

There's never a bad time, and if you have a bit of money you can get some coins now. Book profit at a later day.
