11561  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CrowdSale Live]🌟🌟🌟🌟 NVO Decentralized Exchange | Multi Wallet 🌟🌟🌟🌟 on: June 06, 2017, 06:38:07 AM
Hi everyone!

I don't know if I did this right, but I used blockchain.info, and sent BTC to the escrow account. Also, whats the name of the slack team? I looked through previous posts and have not found it.

Thanks!

Well, it seems you did it right, but you didn't provide enough information to say whether you did it 100% correctly:) If you followed instructions, why not?

Anyway, you can find the invite to Slack on this link: https://nvoinvite.herokuapp.com/
11562  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you think ISIS uses Bitcoin? on: June 02, 2017, 06:25:38 AM
LOL.
as long as there is the good old US dollar which is untraceable, anonymous, easy to obtain, use and spend literary anywhere in the world, why would anyone with malicious intents want to use bitcoin which is traceable, not anonymous, hard to obtain, use and spend?!

Exactly! ransom and oil for example are worth millions per transaction (daily oil output from ISIS is millions). Using Bitcoin, this means a few thousand coins moving around making it so easy to trace by any of us. There's no easier way to say "Hello look at me" Smiley
11563  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wallet with lowest transcation fee on: June 01, 2017, 10:04:52 AM
Actually, there are still some sites (not really wallets) that don't charge anything for withdrawal to your wallet. But I don't recommend using them to store big amounts of btc. They are mainly gambling sites so I shouldn't advertise but try a few and you will see most don't have fee, where I deposit and play for a while. In fact, I only dare withdraw when there is less than 80k tx in mempool... usually tx is not with a high fee and it takes about a day.

It's easy to be the biggest exchanger and they won't mind 10 or 1000 BTC if the person has been verified according to their law and requirements. The limit is just from the government side, which banks won't take large transactions, right?
11565  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: From $25 to about $200. My most challenging Trade so far on: June 01, 2017, 08:51:27 AM
Unfortunately it looks like the blockchain tech surge is finally reaching its peak.  To be honest it was just empty speculation - you could have literally picked any coin in existence and held it for a couple weeks and you would have more than doubled your money.  Even the most obscure shitcoins in existence have got pumped, all at the same times.

Christ, the Internet is weird.

Anyway, good luck OP.  Don't get caught up with all the high gains - they can't last forever.  And make sure that a lot of your profit is realised, in case something bad happens.

It's a risky game you're playing.  Just make sure it's based on skill rather than luck.

1. I don't agree it has reached the peak. Yes, this was a peak but there will be others.

2. I agree this peak will mislead people to think trading is easy. All the coins (almost) went so high, even silly ones. So maybe in peaks, it is good to buy cheaper coins and sell and stop and wait for the next peak:)

3. Always keep profits, and expect to fail at some point:)
11566  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin overcome Paypal? on: June 01, 2017, 08:37:55 AM
Nothing wrong with comparing Bitcoin to Paypal... if the right "aspects" are used. It is already very close to matching market cap and will maybe reach it this year, of course not everyone agrees that market cap is a good thing to compare.

But Bitcoin is still so far behind with merchant use, not to mention transaction time. This is what is still the big gap for crypto.
11567  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Give your child/ren a bright future! on: June 01, 2017, 08:05:52 AM
A small sum of each Bitcoin, Ethereum and maybe one of the POS coins would be a very nice gift. It should not be a lot of coins or they won't appreciate the value of it. Something that can get them started but small enough it will not spoil them.

P.S. teach them to spell carefully also
11568  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How to make serious money by investing into Proof-of-stake – PoS on: June 01, 2017, 07:38:59 AM
It's quite amazing to see this is almost four years old... amazing because I only heard about it from reading this thread. If circulating numbers for this coin is fixed... then what happens when all coins have been mined? I see all of you posters support the coin: tell me honestly, is it too late for us who want to join now and maybe will only have a small amount?
11569  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Advice for building up investment capital? on: May 31, 2017, 04:09:14 PM
You spent $132 to get your 4 ether. I would sell 1 ether to recoup your capital (yes! that was your capital!) and keep that as proper savings. You will have 3 eth left, which you can continue to hold or diversify into Bitcoin (I really think you should!). Whatever happens after this, you have already made profits - always keep something to save, and never all in one place.
11570  Other / Off-topic / Re: What's your way of spreading Bitcoin knowledge? on: May 31, 2017, 03:42:50 PM
I didn't have very good experiences trying to "spread" Bitcoin knowledge. One guy who worked in banking started asking me all sorts of technical questions and after admitting I didn't know, he happily said I was proof people who used Bitcoin know nothing about real money workings.

I try not to bring it up if no one is talking about it:)
11571  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CrowdSale Live] NVO Decentralized Exchange | Multi Wallet 🌟 Escrows 🌟 on: May 30, 2017, 09:02:14 AM

-edited-

NVO wants to be fair with the whole crypto community, either Altcoins or Bitcoin.

The large investors who are looking for early bonus have to understand that the strengh of a currency comes from it's community, NVO isn't here to create social divisions, NVO is here to serve everyone from smallest to largest. Do not forget that 90% of the community tested at least once a faucet to understand bitcoin by micro payments.

This is something that will resound with a lot of people like me. I am definitely part of that 90% of community who was curious to try Bitcoin and of course got my first payments after a few days of using a faucet. I am sure 90% are also like me who don't have much and are waiting so long for a chance to put our small coins into something we can share equally if it grows. NVO looks like one of this, and I am very close to making the decision to make it my first "real" choice for supporting.
11572  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🌟Bitvest🌟 - Investor Plinko, Slot, Roulette, Bit Spin | 99% Dice Released! on: May 30, 2017, 08:56:24 AM
Back in bitvest after a few days missing. Chain for quest is broken but happy to see that the margin bankroll is now almost 2k BTC. That's at least 4 million USD right there! Well done all:)
11573  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you buy Bitcoin now with hard cash? on: May 26, 2017, 06:03:36 PM
It's the age old question isn't it? And we will keep asking this as the price keeps going up. I wonder when is enough though. 3k? 5k? 10k? It was 4,600 in Korea and still there wasn't enough to go round!
11574  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Immutabledger on: May 23, 2017, 08:48:50 PM
Decrypto - people who decry the use of neologisms in cryptography.

E.g. Call me a decrypto if you want but immutabledger sounds as silly as Brangelina.

(pulling your leg, but this is funny)
11575  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will hit $1 million in next 5 to 10 years - PayPal director on: May 23, 2017, 08:43:20 PM
Why $1 million, when it can be $1,000 or $1? Predictions should not be taken seriously even if they are from big personalities (or in fact, especially if they are from big personalities:) ).

Should we not buy if 90% people predict $100? Should we buy if 90% people predict $1 million? No and no:)
11576  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎂 Happy Birthday Primedice!! [4 Years] 🎂 on: May 22, 2017, 05:02:10 PM
Not just those feature has the other site. You can also played with altcoin on them and there are people suggesting it to pd but I guess it's no need to add such feature, btc to play with is enough.

Although, at least one altcoin would be nice, which can be exchanged to BTC inside the system. Nowadays a lot of gamblers will deposit or withdraw with the alt and gamble with BTC. Why? Simple. Fast confirmation and cheap fee. Nobody likes waiting even 30 minutes for 300 sat/byte fee tx now!

Quite pleased to see the devs active in responding. I'm *really* very interested in the decentralised wallet/exchange. The  problems of Gox and others in the past caused me to stay away from exchanges with large deposits before.

Just to announce, I made it into the big leagues with a very nice Level 0 Tag. A big thank you to very generous nbit and badger for your games which funded my wagering streak! Up next is 0.05 man that seems so far away.
11579  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Miners can MASF, or users will UASF. either way, Segwit activated early August" on: May 22, 2017, 09:53:35 AM

Hope they all wake up as not doing anything at all on this scaling problem can be liken to killing the goose that lays the golden eggs. Right now, miners are so happy with the turn of events...who would have thought that the same problem can bring them windfall of profits? It is on their favor if no solution can be done for now. But this situation is almost reaching a boiling point and miners should not wait for that to happen. They should wake up on their senses and unite with all stakeholders now to stop the mountain of clogs right now.

Exactly... it's so strange to see that each problem Bitcoin has faced this year has resulted in the price only getting higher... or maybe it is just simply that nothing can seem to stop the rise. I have mixed feelings. Happy that my small amounts are worth more but not so that I cannot go out and get more. Let's hope August really sees SW.

OK I am a very normal user of Bitcoin. How will this decision affect people like me? How will we know what to do or which decision to take (if we are allowed to make a choice)? Are we supposed to do anything?
