The newest mac book pro should be fine.  Spend as much as you can.  It will make it mine better ... Lol ... Fuck ...

The best laptop to cpu mine with is any laptop that you don't care about fucking up.  If you don't care that it has a very short life, go right ahead and mine with it.
1162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining OS List on: January 07, 2018, 02:04:12 AM
Monero can be mined on OS

Lol ... That makes no fucking sense at all.  Not to mention the fact that the OP's question had nothing to do with a specific coin.
1163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin Mining Automation on: January 07, 2018, 01:41:27 AM
Sure ... Look up auto profit switching.  I would advise against most of them though.  It's not necessarily more profitable to be switching algo's twenty times a day.  You'll have a much better understanding of your numbers if you pick a profitable algo for your hardware and pick a coin that uses that algo.  Mine it, track your numbers daily, watch the price of the coin, do some fundamental research on the coin, sell it when you feel it's time to call bullshit.
1164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mine Altcoins with profit. on: January 07, 2018, 01:17:54 AM
Recommending coins without knowing the hardware is nonsense.

as is asking for coin recommendations.  shows he hasn't done the  least amount of homework and wants to be spoon-fed phat c4shz

Yeah he's a fucking retard.  How about you go do some reading, OP.  I think his mom bought him a new puter for Christimas, so now he wants to be a miner.
1165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Assistance needed with mining setup on: January 07, 2018, 12:58:43 AM
Hello,

I have been mining on my new PC using miningpoolhub via multipoolminer and have had no issues.
I am trying to setup my older PC to do the same and cannot seem to get it to work properly.
I experience issues such as "cpuminer-4way.exe has stopped working" and it running 0 h/s

My old PC:
CPU: AMD Athlon II x2 250 3.00Ghz  (Water-cooled)
RAM: 5gb DDR2
GPU: Power-color AMD Radeon HD 5670
700W PSU

Please don't simply say that it wouldn't be worth it/cannot be done. I am just looking to get it mining in anyway possible as it is a few years older and sits here. Anything I can do to make it useful is fine by me.

Thank you!

What is the operating system installed in your older PC? and in your new PC? Smiley

I'm waiting for him to come back and say Windows XP.

I stay away from Gigabyte cards.  You'll be fine using desktop hardware.  You just need a motherboard with multiple pcie slots.  Open air frames are fine and if you're just building one rig, you won't need additonal cooling.  If you start packing several six gpu rigs into a small room, then you might have to do something about all of that hot air, but one rig at room temp is going to be fine.
1167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Windows Zcash Wallet Quit Working on: January 06, 2018, 06:25:53 AM
No!! Dont take the advice of other ppl in this thread and use Jaxx!! Its VERY bad! Atleast when i used it some months ago. For some reason (i think stealing) all the transactions dont show up on Jaxx. I counted one in fifteen mining rewards transactions did not show up in Jaxx, and was "LOST" (stolen) by Jaxx wallet.

I recommend Hardware wallet as Ledger Nano S. It supports Zcash.

Lol ... You're an idiot.  Probably don't know how to do math ... Every payout that I see from the zec pool, is exactly the same as I see in my Jaxx wallet.  To each their own ... Do what you want to do.  If you're just holding, mine to a paper wallet that you created in an offline setting.

If you're holding for the long term, hardware is the way to go.

This guy is kinda stupid and doesn't know how to match application to purpose.  He will need to learn a lesson or two.

NEXT CALLER PLEASE!

To be honest, $1,300 is not enough to get into GPU mining at present time. Mainly, this is because of a severe shortage of GPU, which means many top mining models like Vega, 1070ti, even RX 570 are either not available at all or you will have to pay 2-3x retail to get one. Therefore, until supply opens up and prices of GPUs drop, you simply will not be able to build a decent rig for $1,300.  If you had twice that, you could probably throw something together but in all honesty, if you pay current prices for GPUs you are likely to never ROI them.

I wouldn't say $1300 isn't enough to get into GPU mining.  You could always put together a good one or two card rig.  It isn't optimal, but you can still get into it.

And Seriously?  Lol ... Do you think I may never ROI on my Vega 56 rig that I paid 525/gpu for 6 weeks ago?  Do you think I may never ROI on my 1070ti rigs that I paid 500/gpu for 2 weeks ago?  Sure, if btc drops to 1K and we have a 3 year bear market, I might not.  But I've made well over $1300USD on my Vega 56 rig in the past 30 days.  It costs me 80/month in electricity to run and I built it for under $3800.  My 1070ti rigs cost me less than that to build and they don't generate quite as much profit, but anyway ... ROI is going to be based on what the coin you are mining does and when you cash out.

Don't pay $1200 for a Vega 56 to these idiots on Amazon and eBay ... Just wait until reputable dealers have the card in stock and use profitability calculators to judge whether or not the price is right for you.

you can always try other desktop wallet such as jaxx
i use jaxx for my zcash mining all the time
and never faced such issues

Jaxx Rocks!
1170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alternatives to nicehash? Using a GTX 1070 Ti... on: January 06, 2018, 01:18:13 AM
Ok got everything running. Now AwesomeMiner shows just 1/3 of Profit than nicehash. Could it be that nicehash does not consider the electricity costs and Awesomeminer does?

Your electricity costs equate to 1/3?  That must be some expensive electricity.
1171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alternatives to nicehash? Using a GTX 1070 Ti... on: January 05, 2018, 09:07:19 PM
Use Awesome Miner point it at Mining Pool Hub and then select whatever coin you want to be paid out in through their auto-converting feature.  Its much cheaper than Nicehash fees for sure and you have way more control over what you can mine or be paid out in.

How much cheaper really?  Nice Hash is charging 2%, daily payout, and free transfer to Coinbase.  I'm not saying it's cheaper than using Awesome Miner and Mining Pool Hub.  It's honestly probably pretty close to mining singles if you're cashing out right away.  Most pools are charging 1%.  You're paying a percentage to the dev fee.  Then you'll have a fee to get from your wallet to an exchange and a fee to sell on the exchange.

If you're mining singles to hold or trade for other coins and hold, then it's a completely different story, but for those who are just taking their profits right away ... I'm doing a mixture of things, but one of my Nvida rigs is going to stay on NH for now.
1172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alternatives to nicehash? Using a GTX 1070 Ti... on: January 05, 2018, 08:20:03 PM
You could just mine an equihash coin.
1173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining with my notebook (nonsense?) on: January 05, 2018, 06:11:03 PM
Don't let these biased laptop miners lead you astray. They know that laptop mining is a billion $ hidden industry and the truth can't be suppressed forever. Why build a GPU rig when you can stack your laptops to the ceiling? Behold:

Oh my god.  What a waste ... Lol ... Very funny though.
1174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: List of Coinn Can Mine on Raspberry Pi on: January 05, 2018, 05:19:06 AM
No need to repost. You will never be able to make money mining on RPi hardware. Its a $35 computer, what do you really expect out of it?

No need to give a 12 year old shit, for wanting to learn.  He already said that he realizes he isn't going to make money.  You may not care about furthering the education of youth, but the world cares about it's future.
1175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: nicehash or minergate is best ? on: January 05, 2018, 04:09:29 AM
Non of the above is better Smiley

They are both 17.98541% better than the other, but 0% better than anything else, you do the math, OP Smiley
1176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Monero difficulty question on: January 04, 2018, 09:16:27 PM
Your hashrate isn't going to drop based on difficulty of the coin.  Is minexmr a pool?  Sometimes the numbers that the pool front end puts out just are not correct.  Sometimes mine are close and sometimes they are way off.  The only number that counts is what xmr-stak is reporting.  Those are your real numbers.
1177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining with my notebook (nonsense?) on: January 04, 2018, 05:02:35 PM
You have it right there in the subject line.  It's total non sense.
1178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sugest me best hardware for Zecash mining on: January 04, 2018, 04:59:59 PM
Best ROI for Zcash its GTX1060, All depend from money what you can invest to rig.

In today world mining of altcoin is become harder than before because of increasing power cost and decreasing of the quantity of output of the coin due to huge price appreciation. In this situation, I adopted only the cloud-based mining. There is one site that is https://eobot.com which is giving a decent amount of coin per GHS. So, purchase now your GHS before the increase in price. And mind it mine only Dogecoin or any other fast running miner.

This isn't a cloud mining forum.  Get lost.
1179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: nicehash or minergate is best ? on: January 04, 2018, 04:53:35 PM
Why are you testing websites?  I thought you wanted to mine.
1180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Some questions about mining. on: January 04, 2018, 04:49:15 PM
$575 seems a bit high for 1070's.  I bought 1070ti's a week ago for $500 each.  Calculate your electricity cost for the rig at about 875w at the wall (that's probably on the high end).  And that's after you've undervolted them.  You can get a watt meter and test it once you have the rig built, but I'd calculate your energy cost a little high to start with, so you can decide if you really want to build the rig or not.

Risks of mining ...

Underground mining, by its nature, presents a range of health and safety hazards that are different from those in other sectors. Some hazards, such as ground instability, are inherent in the underground environment.

I'm mining equihash coins on my 1070ti rigs at the moment.
