Here's part of a summary what I answered towards a video stating some facts wrong:

15) Bruno being anonymous has more reason then just that alone - however, it shouldn't be a concern. [22:53] (Nobody knows who Satoshi is either, yet, if I tell anybody: If you could time travel, would you invest in BTC back then? - Almost everybody would answer with yes, even they don't know who Satoshi is]

16) Calling Bruno cowardly is simply wrong [23:01] - He is not forcing one single team member to put their faces into the public - he even encouraged anybody to stay anonymous if a teammember wants to on multiple occasions - it is their choice!

17) "Even if the whole team was anon it would be fine, what’s important is the protocol." - The whole protocol is open source - to say "he is basically saying" to bail if the protocol fails is pure defamation. If this is really a reason for you to not invest - then that is your own loss. [23:10]

18) Your mentor isn't really wise - however, Bruno is very active in the telegram group - you can chat with him yourself and ask him any questions regarding the protocol - If you have done so you may rethink your assumptions here [23:30]

A comment I wrote a while back regarding the same topic:

We are not building a system on the honor of people. Oyster is a tool.

The website creator doesn't have to tolerate your doing - and the effort to install such a script you mentioned is for many people too big (even if it is just some clicks e.g. by installing an add-in through the firefox/chrome add-on store) - Still, most people wouldn't even consider it if they aren't disturbed in their browsing experience at all.

If the user is not approving to use the script - they can be enforced to see ads instead - if they install an adblock - they can be forced to disable the adblocker. If the website detect that you are running a script to manipulate the CPU/GPU usage (similar how Adblockers are detected by websites) - they can prohibit you to access the content as well. And if you still disagree - Then that is the reason why we see more and more websites implementing subscription based models for their full content.

You see it on more and more websites - "Disable your adblock" - "Subscribe for adfree experience" - "Subscribe to view the full article" - else you can't enter the website. Don't you agree you would rather use Oyster instead of viewing ads if you have the choice?

Website owners/creators need revenue - That's a fact. They have bills to pay, too.

That is also an issue in the current state of the web - people assume it is free - You could say god given. It is not. The web isn't a place of altruism.

The website creator doesn't have to share his content with you as a visitor. It is in his/hers interest to deny you access to the content if you don't pay for it, regardless how you pay for it, being it Oyster, viewing ads, subscribe and pay directly, or any other way - because you are not giving them any revenue in anyway. It's like you go into a store and steal something off the shelf - just because it is visible public doesn't mean you can consume it. You have to pay for it.
