I could easily be first place on that list if I tried Cheesy.
1162  Other / Off-topic / Re: Matthew - the reaction to the Dear Leader's death on: December 19, 2011, 07:43:43 PM
I'm reading reports that both North and South Korea have closed their borders and that China's doing the same.  North Korea seems to be in lockdown right now with citizens being told to stay home.

I imagine there must be a great deal of nervousness in South Korea at the moment.

Could you share your insider's perspective when you have a spare moment?

Good question! Matthew would be able to supply us firsthand knowledge of what's going on over there, even though he's currently in the states.

Is he? I thought he was in SK.
1163  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Kim Jong Il & Bitcoin (Satoshi?) on: December 19, 2011, 07:06:02 PM
He died? How so? And what will this bring to the future of N. Korea? Is his son slated to take his place?

I'm sure the US has him slated for something.

No doubt. :/ I'm concerned because if got an uncle, Marine Major; DoD who has spent the last 6 years in the region getting our bases to upgrade their defense systems. Hopefully Japan will sit tight and China will be more effective and encouraging them to handle things peacfully and fuggin US will stay out of it. ;p
I am not worried. Right now his kid is next in line, and he has been to Europe and traveled most of the world. I think he will hopefully be more sensible than his father was...

Hello from Maryland!

I love the idea and premise that Bitcoin brings to the table of this world. With the dollar slowly but surely failing, and with increased controls on my paper money, I would love for a united worldwide currency to thrive in the fashion Bitcoin could provide.

I'm excited in this venture, and in all honesty I hope to be able to sell items and purchase items in the market section using Bitcoins. I want to support it. I don't look at this as a potential profit, but more as an investment in the future of Bitcoins and my hope of their success!

Make sure you get your Bitcoin t-shirts before Christmas!

I really don't think JP Morgan cares or has any reason to care about bitcoin.
Of course not. No on one has ANY reason to give 2 shits about Bitcoin, right proudhon? Always such a permabear...

Follow the money Cheesy.
1171  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US republican party debate on: December 16, 2011, 08:58:56 AM
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Santorum= generic politician, republican strain

Perry= george bush on coke

Bachman= The anti-obama, not even sure if she has any ideas of her own. She only attacks other candidates and obama.

Huntsman= the guy who knows alot of details but wouldn't be able to get things done because he doesnt talk about the big picture

Romney= Just gives speeches, the republican version of Obama. Tries to make you think about some vague positive future associated with himself.

Paul=says un-PC things but/and talks about actual problems rather than symptoms

Gingrich= the most informed, experienced candidate. Has alot of good ideas but usually doesn't address root problems.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was baffled by the moderator's appraisals

*edit= messed up formatting

I can tell you're not American...

"Gingrich=the most informed, experienced candidate... SMDH...  Huh
1172  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitrustica - The new virtual democratic country that governs bitcoin on: December 16, 2011, 08:56:31 AM
So you (bitrusticans) claim some kind of right to govern bitcoin? And if you claim it ? How will you enforce it?

Bitrustica should be funded by the people for the people.
Bitrusticans rights / duties have not yet been defined. in fact bitrustica is just a wacky idea this point.
The basic idea of bitrustica would be to give everyone in the community a change to vote on bitcoin related issues.
ex.
It could be in a few years their will be many different bitcoin clients. So who's to say what is the official client? bitrusticans could vote on this kind of thing.
In time it might be necessary to elect a official representative of bitrustica. right now people might thing B Wagner is the bitcoin community's representative (is that what we want?)
"Great men do not seek leadership. leadership is thrust upon them" - Kahless of the Klingon Empire.  Wink

Maybe having a real sovereign country, backing bitcoin could have illegal and/or social benefits that we can't see yet?
Solidcoin has what you speak of...

1173  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why I am glad I have clowned around on this forum... on: December 16, 2011, 08:12:29 AM
He really does like being surrounded by people who despise him.

I think it makes him feel superior or something.

No the kid is just trying to fit in. He thinks he has the perfect answers to all of life's problems, yet he doesn't understand that we as adults have already processed most of his flawed (yet hopeful) ideology. Regardless he doesn't deserve to be banned from this forum. He is a contributor, and contributors don't get banned from communities who use them on a daily basis... As far as him having "Asperger Syndrome" I call complete bullshit... Atlas may be off-base but he's definitely not "off topic"... It looks like the SA trolls are trying to hijack this entire situation, and trying to paint Atlas as the villain, when he's clearly not. Theymos may be pushing his power a bit to far in this situation...

1174  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why I am glad I have clowned around on this forum... on: December 16, 2011, 08:02:02 AM
Atlas if you are reading this please message me. Thanks.
1175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm going to be interviewed about bitcoin on Free Talk Live's after show tonight on: December 15, 2011, 10:35:46 PM
Mention these recent developments:

1) SwitchPoker.com and BC-Casino.com
2) Internet Archive (Wayback Machine)
3) OKPay (massive online payment system - popular in Russia/Europe)

Also, specifically related to Free Talk Live's audience, Ira of BTCinch.com will be speaking at Liberty Forum in New Hampshire.

Also, since being "declared dead" by the press about 1-2 months ago, Bitcoin has appreciated over 50%

Try to avoid any discussion of mining.
You are such a bull evoor Cheesy I love you though lol.
1176  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why I am glad I have clowned around on this forum... on: December 15, 2011, 10:23:26 PM
Yeah show any psychologist what SA was doing, and they would categorize it as pure cyber bullying. Whether he made an account there or not is irrelevant... They know he reads their pathetic postings, and unfortunately young Atlas reacts to their bullshit. It's just like when someone talks about you on Facebook, except they are posting this stuff on someone else's wall. Does it make any less of a cyber bully, all because it's not "directed" towards you? Lets get real...

Show a psychologist what Atlas was doing and they would categorize it as narcissism, ADHD and a detachment disorder coupled with aspergers. Anyone who calls making fun of big mouthed idiots who post their personal information online and go out of their way to dare others to call their house, prove them wrong on every issue, claim that law and order is a sham, lie about themselves, their achievements, their identity, constantly change their online identities whenever they are proven wrong on some issue or remindejavascript:void(0);d of their past mistakes, and a slew of other ridiculous taunts and ambiguous egoism "cyberbullying" might in fact benefit from a visit to a psychologist themselves.
LOL you are the last person that should be diagnosing ANYONE with mental illness...

Mental illness is something we all suffer from as human beings. And there is no cure beyond zombie-mind altering drugs, simply because the cure lies within ourselves...

With that being said, all the "diseases" you just mentioned can be applied to 90% of the SA user-base...

Now about Atlas being banned, this is NEWS to me. I need to hear more facts before I make a comment...
1177  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why I am glad I have clowned around on this forum... on: December 15, 2011, 07:42:35 AM
It looks like the clowns at SA have finally thrown in the towel on their very unfunny "comedy" troll thread.

Lets make a pact everyone? If BTC's ever go to 1000K, lets pull a few coins together, buy out their shitty forum, and ban everyone in it.

Now that would be some comedy fucking gold.

"I'm gonna get rich, then you're so going to regret picking on me."

Really? That's what it's come down to?
Don't get your panty's all up in a bunch LOL. Why the fuck are yall so worried for anyways? Based on SA's calculations BTC should be worth about $.0010 right now, and def not a threat of ever reaching 100USD by any standards. WHY YOU SCARED BRAH? LOL Cheesy

I could be way off base here, but something tells me that the entirety of all somethingawful forum users is not inherently against bitcoin, but moreso against idiots claiming bitcoin is the savior of humanity-- and that they can start a movie theater on will power alone. Some goons use bitcoin.

Some goons (at least 6) were trying to convince everyone that I was some kind of a lying scammer. I learned that it was by my horrid presentation that made them think this way, accepted it as constructive criticism and moved on. Anyone doing anything other than that is obviously butthurt and don't know how to argue their points and/or walk away.
No,

After seeing them beat on Atlas for weeks with absolutely no moral reasoning, I realized that forum is compromised primarily by Internet scumm. Don't give them more credit than they deserve, because they try to bring out your own "flaws" while at the same time hypocritically fueling their own. It's truly disgusting...

P.S I don't agree with the kid on just about anything, but I am vehemently oppose to cyber bullying. It's usually a bunch of kids who would get knocked out IRL anyways...

Cyberbullying?

Wouldn't cyberbullying require them to actually talk to Atlas? Isn't he the one paying money to go there go tell them that they are wrong? Interesting...
