1163  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: January 05, 2014, 05:58:50 PM
Hi, all 4 of my ant miners would show XXXXXXXXX across the board instead of OOOOOOOs after a few days of running, it still says running at 180GH, slush pool shows it running at 150GH instead of 180GH.

Does anyone know why this happens or if it is actually working? i am confused. It will take a few physical power down and up to get it back to all OOOOOs, then after a few days they turn back into XXXXXXXs.

Kinda frustrating.

Thanks
Don't worry about that, everything run well, its just a indication-error. After a few hour it change back to oooooo. So long it works well, let it  work. Smiley

thanks guys yeah i think that might be the case, slush still shows it hashing and i am getting paid. So not too big a deal, i do notice one of them went back to all OOOOOs when i refreshed, and this morning all 4 went back to OOOOs again, strange stuff.  Just going to let it run and check my slush payout, as long as that remains consistent i will leave it alone.

When it shows all Xs, I believe that's typically the result of a power problem.  Are you using PSUs of sufficient size and quality?  Are there any problems with your power connections?

I using cooler master silent pro gold certified 1200w to power 2, and 2x 650w bronze certified ocz silencer powering each of the other 2. So don't think power is an issue, but they do at around 60 temperature.

..etc..

I see this leech has moved on to another scam.  Just a note for anyone who is not aware about Bargraphics, this a**clown single handily cheerleadered terrahash scam all the way to the end, made many people lose their money, and attacked anyone who expressed doubt or asked about a refund.

After terrahash ran with the money, he went back and deleted/edited out all his old cheerleading posts in the thread, then pretended to lead a group lawsuit against terrahash sucker in the legit people who lost their money. Of course nothing ever happened. (some of the victims started filing their own small claim suit in court later on, but lost a lot of valuable time & money due to this guy)

I dont know what the deal with VMC is, but just becareful, i would not trust anything coming out of this con artist's mouth.

The worst kind of scum.

1168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin changed the world... and its price will crash on: December 27, 2013, 06:45:42 PM
I stopped reading about a quarter way in, the original post is retarded.  It's like saying diamond will crash in price because you have many other quartz that look similar.

Either the entire cryptocurrency concept crash and burn or it survives and flourish - in which case bitcoin will be far and large remain as the gold in that sector.  Second most popular litecoin still has years to go before it can reach what silver is to gold.  It's not a diss on litecoin or any other, just a fact.

The real danger of bitcoin death i see is after all the coins are mined (or close to it) around 2141, the idea is the transaction fees should be significant enough to support the miners keeping their hardware running.  However if this doesnt happen (and you really need many order of magnitude transactions compare to today to keep the mining hardware running solely on transaction fees as profit alone).  If the transactions dont reach that level, then people will shutdown their miners hence weakening the network eventually to the point of no return, it's a snowball effect - as the network shrinks, transactions will become less and less as people give up on bitcoin which in turn causes more hardware getting shut etc..  That's the doomsday situation, to prevent that bitcoin needs to be as popular(similar volume) as credit card transactions by then. But i wont be around to see what happens, unfortunately.

I can understand people use mtgox in the past as there is no alternative. But now with coinbase.com, there is absolutely NO REASON for anyone in the USA to use mtgox over coinbase.  Coinbase has 25mil invested at min, very legit, secure, and most important you get your money in <1 week as they worked it out with us banks. I did two big transfers so far both 5 figures, and both times money were in my checking account less than 4 days -at exactly the date they specified.

1174  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [450 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: December 24, 2013, 07:26:42 PM
we are running at minimum 1-2 hrs per block which should be the average not min, while many blocks are 4 and above.
Not quite. The pool is just 5% of the network which makes 3h per round on average or 7-8 rounds per day - just count them for the last few days and you'll see they are 7 on average even with our bad luck

I just find it stupendous to realize that at 500 terahashes, we are only 5% of the network. When did so many people get into this? Good grief. I am modifying my plan for every other person to voluntarily quit mining to every 2nd and 3rd person to quit, to make it more lucrative for those of us that remain. That's a joke, BTW.

why is 500 TH stupendous to realize at 5%? we are closing in on 1 TH boxes, and very soon 2-3TH per box.  500TH is only <500 mining boxes,  they will be shipping thousands of them next year.  Once the asic and pcb design is finalized/stable, there is nothing left for those companies to do but pump out boxes assembly line style.  And there won't be kid gloves like what those scammers avalon/bfl did back then when they had monopoly, it will be a no hold barrel who can pump out the most 2-3TH boxes the fastest before profit=hardware manufacturing cost, antminer is already doing that using 180GH boxes.

Like the saying goes, during the gold rush the ones making the most money are those selling the shovels.

another 10 hour block last night! Pool luck at (1 day, 7 days, 30 days):   78%, 88%, 96%

this is nuts, if it doesn't improve in the next 48 hours i am switching pools.  Understand this may just be all luck, but still it doesn't seem right, we are running at minimum 1-2 hrs per block which should be the average not min, while many blocks are 4 and above.

Sadly, some are buying from the group buy, and turning around and listing on Ebay for over $5,000 USD (making at least $500 profit)
they dont go good on eBay
i had to sell my first one after the recent crash, and got barely back what i paid for
atm the last one there which was really sold went for 3000€ which is a 0-0 after all the fees
the other listings never found buyers and peeps still buy BFL at 2k€ for 1/3rd of power

majority of the buyer on ebay are scammers, i tried twice selling asicminer cards, they both got paypal claim and charged back the money after mining it for a month, paypal doesn't care and always side with the buyer.

selling on ebay is very risky, for the seller.
