What's a Dual Miner?
1162  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: OFFICIAL CGMINER mining software thread for linux/win/osx/mips/arm/r-pi 4.6.1 on: October 10, 2014, 07:57:35 PM
So is started it up with a .bat file

cgminer -o stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333 -u Fatal_Leg4cy.worker1 -p x

and it loaded and satarted but all that keeps coming up is "Stratum from pool 0 detected new block" nothing else.
So is it working?

Dunno.  What's your mining hardware?

I am just running it off of my computer, do you need a certain hardware for this? I am a noob at this so sorry

Yes, you need ASIC mining hardware.  CPU and GPU mining is no longer supported with CGMiner and is really a waste of money to mine Bitcoin like that now.

There is an alt coin forum where you can learn about other coin chains that can still be mined with CPU and/or GPU.

Edit:  If you want to research Bitcoin ASIC's you can start here

I'm not familiar with that pool nor the mining hardware.  2.7Mhs seems an awfully low hash rate for Bitcoin.  Are you mining an Alt Coin?
1165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to get ahold of ADMIN on: October 07, 2014, 12:26:45 PM
What pool are you using?
What's your hash rate?

Is there anyway we can see stats per worker?

You can use a different Bitcoin address for each one.
1167  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Remember the days of the Block erupter? on: September 28, 2014, 11:56:08 PM
Ah, the days of the block erupter, were you didn't have to worry about your electric bill and you could just simply mine. Sad

Yeah those were some good old days. Very little heat, little electricity bill and profits coming in

Hmm, I don't remember any profit coming in off of Block Erupters.  Unless your really Friedcat.  Smiley

Maybe I'll crack a block solo mining with mine. Then they will have paid off.

Reset and get your max hash rate.

Mining Bitcoin with a graphics card is really a waste of time, especially on a Mac which probably has a really old GPU.

I hate people like you why even post anything just move on and post nothing dont waste his and your time.

The answer he was looking for is

...snip...

What coin do you wish to mine?

Mining Bitcoin with a GPU is a waste of time.  If the OP was just wanting to tinker around at a loss for an education that would be different, and I assume he would have posted again saying so.

If he is looking to mine alt coins then he is posting in the wrong section.  Which means your post is also inappropriate.  Alt coin discussions should be taken to the alt coin section.

But we don't know if he is looking to mine Bitcoin or Alt coins because he never cared to post again.

CGMiner doesn't use GPU's nor does it mine altcoins.  Your trying to use the wrong software and your in the Bitcoin forum not the alt coin forum.
if he try to run cgminer 3.7.1 he's supposed to be able to mine with his GPU.

But he's using 4.50 which does not support GPU's nor altcoins.  Still the wrong forum too.

True didn't saw the v4.5   Undecided, my bad

Uh, no bad on you.  Your suggestion is of course correct and helpful. Smiley

Im guessing your referring to me about alt coins?, I only brought it up as its a way to get cloud GH/s used for Bitcoin mining which the category is about.

No, the OP is mining alt coins hence the ""scrypt" : true," flag in his conf file.

How would one go about viewing the data sent to a miner over stratum?

I would use Wireshark

Congratulations to the owner of the first block mined by a large farm on this solo pool!

https://blockchain.info/block-index/463015/00000000000000002500e0d607ca78f9369225c925eb78e9bd0e26f2cb1d2246

There was no great luck involved here, there was a lot of hashrate being thrown at this.

And congratulations to you for your first 0.12505719 BTC of income.

I'm tried to follow the instructions in windows-build.txt for using mingw to build a native windows cgminer, but I get USB errors. It's not a hardware problem. The pre-built binary cgminer.exe runs fine. I saw this in the http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/README...
Native WIN32 build instructions: see windows-build.txt but these instructions
are now hopelessly out of date

Are there updated instructions for doing a native windows build with mingw?

Since there's a prebuilt Windoze binary that works fine and that the instructions are hopelessly out of date, why do you need to build your own?

This is my very first time ever minning and I love it. How ever you guys will prolly laugh at me when i say I am only running a Feforce GT 630 2GB graphics card and a intel core 3 quad CPU at 2.67GHz and 16 Gb ram any suggestions how to mine a little faster without spend a lot of money or none.

You need to get some mining hardware.  CGMiner doesn't support GPU's nor CPU's.  And hasn't for a very long time.

This is a good starting place for researching mining hardware.
