1161  Economy / Economics / Re: How New World Order will implode on: December 24, 2015, 12:50:59 PM
The concept of nation state is pretty new... only a few centuries old.
We could see the end of the international currency, as well as nation states when a new world order takes shape.  Smiley
1162  Economy / Economics / Re: Government & Bitcoin on: December 24, 2015, 12:37:07 PM
The government is going to always try and get their hands in things that are worth alot. If they think they can bring in a boatload of tax money from bitcoin sure as anything they are going to aim for it.

That would ensure more employment for tax consultants, lawyers, etc.
Soon you will have bitcoin specialists in all these areas opening up.  Smiley
1163  Economy / Economics / Re: Europe in Crisis on: December 24, 2015, 11:26:17 AM
It took hundreds of years, lives, hard work, toil and trouble for democracies to get where they are today and it takes just a few years for a
few politicians in said countries to undo everything and take them back to mediaeval times.

They give away their money, they do nothing about religions, culture and people that threaten their very existence and ban anyone for disagreeing.
They have had enough.

They actually give away other people's money that they have taken through taxes.  If they were giving away their own money, that would be one thing.   Smiley

The greatest good for the greatest number.
We have to assume that governments will work on that principle.
1164  Economy / Speculation / Re: Simple Poll - plus or minus $450 by mid-day GMT? on: December 24, 2015, 11:24:41 AM
Will the price be higher or lower than $450 by mid day Xmas day GMT?

Personally, I have no idea.

It is over $450 and we have around 24 hrs to go.
I think it will stay there.  Smiley
1165  Economy / Economics / Re: Transaction fee on: December 24, 2015, 08:46:25 AM
Now value of transaction fee in fiat is unpredictable scaring commerce and blocking the whole bitcoin development.
Linking the fee through 5-10 biggest exchanges to consumer price index would solve a lot of problems and end a lot of discussions.

Fees are extremely low and have been revised periodically.
The fees weren't the same when Bitcoin was priced at $1 and when it was priced at $1000.  Smiley
1166  Economy / Economics / Re: Elasticity and inelasticity of bitcoin's supply and demand on: December 24, 2015, 07:46:00 AM
Most of us  we see bitcoin as investment  ,others as savings, the big reason behind the interest is its volatility that is amazing, being able to make 20% in a week doing nothing.New coins will keep being moved and price should grow as the interest to own bitcoin,if the same people at bitcoin well we will see it around 200,300 dollars .

Even I invested on bitcoin. I use to buy bitcoin from trading sites atleast Once in a 2 months. I am not seeing the price or demand or anything. Whenever I am capable to buy I use to buy at that times. I currently spent bitcoins for Christmas expenditure to buy things.

This is more like a systematic investment plan for stocks.
This kind of demand (price insensitive) provides support for the overall market cap of bitcoin.
1167  Other / Off-topic / Re: Poker millonaire superstar Daniel Negreanu gets his accounts frozen on: December 23, 2015, 10:21:59 PM
It is these kind of actions which lead people to Bitcoin.
Score another point for the Bitcoin community.  Smiley
1168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: whats the easiest way to give btc as a gift? on: December 14, 2015, 11:44:08 PM
There are still physical bitcoins that you can buy and gift.
It would be a cool gift and would definitely get the receiver interested in bitcoins.  Smiley

1170  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: December 05, 2015, 11:03:17 PM
I think so this test match now is in decisive position and it is clear India is going to win this match with very huge margin South African batting line will collapse easily against Indian spin bowlers.

The only question is - Will the match go into the fifth day?  Grin

1172  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin go to $500 on: November 29, 2015, 12:29:00 AM
There's still a chance that it can reach $500 again this year. Who knows what will happen this last month that's left of 2015. I'm really excited for next year.

i don't think we'll see the $500 price level again this year. even if we do reach $500 it's bound to go down again. there aren't a lot people willing to support the $500 price level with their buy orders.

The price seems to have an upward bias.
If we have another run up like November, we could easily cross $500.  Smiley
1173  Economy / Economics / Re: Why gold price going down? on: November 29, 2015, 12:24:48 AM
Why is gold price falling now, even when bitcoin price going up?

I want to know that.
It's because of the supply and demand.
That's is the main reason why the price is fall down.

Supply and demand is the generic reason for the price of anything.
What you should look for is the underlying reason - why is demand increasing/decreasing?
In gold's case, demand was high previously due to economic uncertainty and as people sought a safe haven. With relative economic stability, demand has normalized and hence decreased from previous highs.
1174  Economy / Economics / Re: What have the Opium wars anything to do with BTC and China? on: November 29, 2015, 12:21:33 AM
The British Empire had a huge trade deficit with China so they decided to sell huge amounts of Opium to China even by force.

http://www.britannica.com/topic/Opium-Wars

Are chinese buying btc to get high? Huge volumes , price going back and forth as vendors sell their btc for fiat.

Nope, opium wars have nothing to do with BTC.
This is history and irrelevant to BTC.
1175  Economy / Gambling / Re: How I made $80 easily with a $100 investment on: November 28, 2015, 02:09:01 PM
$100 = 0.2840 Bitcoin.

I went on Primedice.com

This is the method that I was using.

Bet: 0.0001
Payout: 3

Every time you lose, increase your bet by x2.

Set the dice to over 66.6 & alternative after every few wins.

Be safe, and remember that there is no 100% way to win.

I lost half of it because I didn't realise that I started with 0.01 & lost after a few.

First of all, don't talk about $100 as an "investment".
You gambled and you got lucky.
There are no fool-proof strategies.

1178  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: November 28, 2015, 01:59:34 PM
Yes as of now NZ depends on these to batsman performance. If they slowly build score may be another 100+ then NZ can try to make Australia all out in second innings. I think tomorrow morning first session we will come to know who will win this match definitely.

Test matches seem to get over a lot quicker these days. This one will get over in one more day.
Wonder how it affects  the volumes of bookies. Do they see lower bets?
1179  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Rally on: November 27, 2015, 03:28:03 PM
Its going up slowly! I think the black friday myth is coming true .There are rumors floating around it will cross $400 on the event day ,I can now certainly imagine it will!

which rumors? can't find any information regarding what you say. i am happy if i see the price go over $400 on friday as i may look for a laptop if the price is right and the deal is accepting bitcoin. i only think there won't be much up movement from this point.

$400 is asking for too much.
I will be happy if it stays at $360 by the end of the day.
1180  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: November 27, 2015, 03:21:51 PM
India won by 124 runs South Africa totally failed in batting spinners did a fantastic job that kind of pitch was really terrible this match finished on 3rd day i ma happy to get nice profit by betting on on India.

What about the odds for the next match?
India must be hands down favourites to win that match. Smiley
