Talking of shakey exchanges and unredeemed balances, Bter's latest, 13 hours ago on twitter .. ''We have decided to rebuild BTER's backend, completely solve the wallets security issue and re-enable all the tradings.'' Completely solve ? ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

Hey people. Setting up my masternode however on starting MN in wallet I'm getting "not capable masternode: Could not connect to <ipaddyofmvps>"
Checked settings and looks ok - defo right IP addy VPS is up and running and redone darkcoin conf setup on both vps and local pc.
Is this more likely to be a payment issue? Any ideas before I start again?
Enable firewall for wallet on local machine on port 9999 and check all settings(or turn off), and set udp/tcp port forwarding on your router using something like 192.168.0.2 (depends on your local ip assignment if more than 1 machine). And make sure the 1000 darkcoin have been deposited for 6 transactions.

I dumped 10k at lower than that ![Embarrassed](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/embarrassed.gif) ....before realising the error of my ways and buying back in a few weeks later. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Excellent trading technique ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) I like to do the same, i.e. lose a major position then wait-wait-wait, panic-panic and finally crack under the pressure and buy back in only to get 80% of what I had before. P.S. Otoh sends his love for those extra 10 masternodes ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Here we go
Why i didn't buy more when it was lower ? ahhh
The nature of bull markets and herd mentality means the majority of people who will not buy at $3 will buy at $100 if they see others doing it and think they can make money. I looked at bitcoin when it was $10 and dismissed it, only to come back and buy some at $400, so go figure! I will add, that in my humble view, a fundamental mistake amateur investors make is that they are too tight careful with their money to risk a loss on small 'speculative' buys at $3 but paradoxically will consider the investment less risk at $100 because others are doing the same so they think its safe and ok.

Thank you ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) got my MSI 280X to run at 4Mh/s (is that a good speed for a 280X ? ) No, you should be getting higher, I think around 6.5 megahash, I only own the R9 290 tri OC and thats 7.45 megahash, so you will be slightly under. The rate you're getting suggests you're not using Wolf0's bins, you must substitute your already created bins in the mining folder with Wolf's, by renaming Wolf's to the originals and replacing the appropiate ones-make sure you know which chipset it is (or copy name and do all 4, pitcairn, tahiti, cape verde and hawaii) http://www.reddit.com/r/DRKCoin/comments/2o1yoz/rewritten_x11_binaries/and explained in detail by BolehVPN, https://darkcointalk.org/threads/reubens-guide-to-mining-darkcoin-with-an-amd-gpu-on-windows.4051/

I don't know anything about onion, may you please explain, can a masternode be set up as a static ip? And how many ip's are available, I am thinking there may be a problem if more than 1 masternode trys to use the same onion address?

Overheard:
A fine analysis ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) I will add for intrigue .. 'I've been a net seller of Bitcoin for the last 12 months, something even bigger (and dare I say more valuable?) in the pipe!'

You'd better do some deep analytics. If you can't - feel free to use mine, in my signature. Good luck!
Meant to say earlier, your writeup is superb, its better english than mine and I only speak english ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Some empirical real use data tagged on the end in table form might look good, am not sure can do deep analytics, will some shallow ones do instead. This guy loves his analytical benchmarks, if only I understood half of it, lol https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/pull/5835wallet update times might be quicker but cant see how btc transfer of 10 minutes in the blockchain would speed up? Edit: Just saw this, I suppose 30 minute delays for a btc block are common, some of the comments appear confused, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=972425.0This is going to get worse and worse with more use, can the Chief Scientist sort it out, that is the BIG question.

Which coins do you suggest? DRK BTC and??
I have blockchain stats on litecoin, quarkcoin, monero, dogecoin, those will do for starters. Just wanted a rough guide to for max and min and coin transfer times. could maybe force myself to buy 1 ripplecoin and install the wallet, feel free to add timer stats or coins if you have any?

not helping.. where can download another sgminer version safely ?
Here is a great bunch of software I always use, https://www.nicehash.com/?p=softwareuse newer kernel darkcoin-mod,set threadconcurrency, worksize and xintensity in your bat and run separate instances more stable(d=0 is GPU 0), and catalyst is 14.7 RC 3 is quicker than 14.2 color 0A setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 SETX GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1 sgminer.exe -k darkcoin-mod -o stratum+tcp://drk.ghash.io:3333 -u misha.1 -p x --xintensity 1000 --thread-concurrency 24500 -w 64 -d 0 -g 2

Howdy ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Tungfa, regarding cryptsy and at least 1 other exchange for comparision, I got an idea, why not stopwatch 7 or 8 of the major coins for deposit and withdrawal times in real time,I could bang em into a spread sheet or something, am not aware anyone else has done this? Hopefully darkcoin will be at or nr the top already, 30 second block times might take it for now-though they are not always as quick as they appear due to bottlenecks ...

Last time I'll say it...although there have been new buys recently...price would tumble if not for the massive buy wall.
Wow. How to look a gift horse in the mouth ! ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.glitters20.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2012%2F12%2FFunny-Horse-19.jpg&t=663&c=iAAUAm_6aCl4xg)

![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) comodo, i dont say its bad.... but its not good as the others... but anyway, nevertheless pool dont lie so im always approx +/- 200khs from 50 MH/s @ coinotron so i think im good Yer, I deleted comodo but not before it had ruined about 10 working versions of sgminer on the hdd including a load on a backup memory stick! Thats a good hash rate btw ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) For 5850, I had trouble with stability problems on an old mobo, it was fine on its own but when run with R9 290 ,thing would crash, thats why trying the x11mod kernel on pre-release versions instead can help. My best hash speed is about 1.45 meg for that card incidently.

i dont know what antiviruses are you using, or what miners from what source are you using, but i can guarantee that im using top notch and clean miners
Rux, I don't doubt its clean, what I meant was false positives happen even on totally clean mining software, the anti-virus that did this to all my versions of sgminer was Comodo.

Done and done. I tried to send your's instantX just now, not sure if it worked. Edit: Looks like it worked!
Woke up this morning, one step closer to my first instamine yacht ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) have decided to donate my entire winnings to Elbereth for all his hard work ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) 41dd98ccd977....... Btw, I was surprised the magic block came in 25 minutes earlier than I'd calculated, the blocktime had reduced from an average of 2.63 minutes on the day before, I suppose it could have gone the other as well and you'd have won then, lol. Looking forward to future bettings at key masternode commission milestones ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) ...

There you go my friend on 280x this Miner with W0lf's .bin file can reach 6.5 MH/s with no problem (bin in rar file) Note that i scanned twice for viruses just in case, i don't want to be called "virus scam-er" ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) enjoy bro https://mega.co.nz/#!o8ZCgI4B!NMLa2t04YsVQYdunC418TTIFlPRDIZjxS1o_x4odAps if you need anything else, dont hesitate ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) thx - I'll be playing with the miner(s) on sunday - just trying to get prepared :-D Any specific questions, I am happy to answer, btw watch out for anti virus programs disabling sgminer in such as way as you don't get work from the pool but it looks like its working! Overclocking might get you 5% more, I left some tips for Tungfa's friend, points 3 to 6 ? https://darkcointalk.org/threads/beginner-mining-question.4091/#post-43624
