11621  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-02-21]Bitcoin Channels its Inner Energizer Bunny in Rampant Run on: February 21, 2017, 08:08:56 AM
As mused in the most recent column, it seems that the 2/20/17 timeframe was, in fact, an acceleration.  A couple hours ago Bitcoin jumped close to $40 per coin.  It hit resistance at 1093, which of course made me wonder if $1100 might be a swing high.  However, I note that the weekly bar, now only a single day old, has punctured the 3rd arc pair of a bull setup from the Aug 2015 low.  Of course, there are still 6 days to go before the candle closes, so this does not qualify as a buy signal on the weekly chart.  But still, it is rather bullish…

11622  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do I educate myself on bitcoin for investing? on: February 20, 2017, 09:35:40 AM
you can invest your money to tradings. More and more tradings will be on to you. But you should know where you can earn a lot of money. This could be one of the best way to earn basically
I am quite agree with you that if you have experience and enough bitcoin then you should try trading I think it is the best way to increase your money in no time. Investing is always risk involved and getting learned about will not help all the times. But trading will help us only once we learn it.
i think experience is more important than money in trading. and specially when you in learning stage. i think first you need to invest a very little amount of bitcoin and when you get some good experience in trading then you can increase the limit of your trading.
although money is also too much important in trading as well as in gambling because if a person do not have good money to invest he cannot expect a good profit, because your profit depend on the money you have invested. but you are also right because experience, skill and knowledge about trading is also important for making money and without experience the risk of losing money increase.

If you have a lot of money then I think you should trade right away so that
you will learn the tricks and gain a lot of experience. Of course you will lose
a lot initially because you don't have any experience yet, but in due time you
will gain a lot of knowledge, expertise that will help you out in gaining profits
in the future. Yeah there is risk but because you trade early and you learned
a valuable lesson because of "painful experience", then I think the risk can
be lessen on you end.

11623  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Supertition on: February 20, 2017, 08:39:07 AM
Ok guys, I see a lot of you somewhat believed in superstition so I guess
I'm not the only one. Just to keep you updated. My wife and I went to
our favorite land base casino. I'm a little hesitant at first because I'm really
tired juggling my offline business and other activities. But I said, Ok let do it.
Then our friends tag a long as well so it was really fun while going to a
casino.Of course I wear my favorite shirt again which is not in good condition
anymore so I put up a jacket just to cover it up. I just bring enough money
just to play.  I went to my favorite slot machine. Bonus on the first roll!!!.
Withdraw everything and didn't play for the next 30 minutes. I look and see
how my wife and my friends are doing. Give my wife a few to play with
then I decided to play in roulette. Bet on no. 6 and 9. First spin was no 6
so I won!!!. bet on no. 6 and 9 again. I won again!!!. I lost on the third spin
though. So I stop and went home with some winnings on my pocket.

What can you say about that? superstition or I just got lucky that day? Grin Grin Grin

Here's a video I found on Youtube:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6-DIV-4Ovs

Looks like this is a well planned assassination at the very beginning.
Latest news I read is that the captured suspects are all from North
Korea but I don' know what passport they used to enter Malaysia.
I don't think that this will be a serious blow of the relationship
between Malaysia and North Korea because all the suspects are
not Malaysia. It just so happened that the assassination took place
in Malaysian soil. And I think the Malaysian authorities are doing
all they can to capture all the who are involved in the killings.
11625  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-02-20]U.S. Senate Confirms Bitcoin Supporter Mick Mulvaney As Trump’s on: February 20, 2017, 06:09:47 AM
Good news for bitcoin community. I hope with Mick Mulvaney's joining Trump's cabinet,
we will see a lot of friendly bitcoin regulations and we will see how bitcoin status will
be in the next few years in the United States.

Mulvaney has gone on the record, stating:

Quote
Blockchain technology has the potential to revolutionize the financial services industry, the U.S. economy, and the delivery of government services, and I am proud to be involved with this initiative on the ground floor.

Looks like he's also on the Blockchain technology bandwagon as well.
We will just have to wait and see then.
11626  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-02-20]Is China’s Credit Bubble on the Brink of Bursting? on: February 20, 2017, 05:34:59 AM
The End of China’s Credit Bubble Looms

Moreover, China is dealing with a growing debt-to GDP ratio. In 2000, the ratio was close to 100%, yet has increased ty 400% ever since. With the Chinese GDP slowing every single year, it will become much harder to create economic growth for China. In fact, it is not unlikely the credit bubble in the country will burst sooner rather than later. If that were to be the case, things will get ugly very fast.

The biggest problem is how partially inaccurate statistics do not allow for correct judgments. The government indicated China saw economic growth in 2016, albeit experts think those numbers are incorrect. It is unclear when the economy will crash in the country, albeit it is only a matter of time at this rate. Additionally, there is the Donald Trump factor that can make life very difficult for Chinese people moving forward. The credit bubble is showing dents already, yet holds its shape for te time being.

In the end, it is evident for everyone to see China’s economy is not healthy by any means. Albeit things are not as bad as Venezuela, there is very little reason for optimism. It is unclear what this situation means for the future of bitcoin in the country. With the PBoC taking new actions against exchanges nearly every week, one never knows what comes next. An intriguing situation to keep an eye on, that much is certain.

11627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin be used by ordinary citizens? on: February 20, 2017, 04:56:26 AM
Bitcoin is usually used by people interested in technology. I mean, persons with a certain technical knowledge are interested in bitcoin.

My observations are that way. I think Bitcoin needs to reach larger quantities. Can use bitcoin in people who are not interested in technology?
Can people use the bitcoin in the profession group like tradesmen, teachers, housewives, firemen, butchers? Are we going to see the days that these people use bitcoin?

As long as people can be paid and can transact bitcoin and change bitcoin
to fiat then people will used it. I think bitcoin can and will be use by
ordinary citizen not just individual who are interested in technology.
Like the people above you mentioned, let say they went to groceries
and buy some stuff then used bitcoin as mode of payment. So it will be
applicable to a lof of ordinary citizen. We should expect like this
to happen if bitcoin will be universally accepted and can be used as
means of payment. Right now, only those tech people I believe know
about bitcoin so we are taking advantage of it.
11628  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Do you have an idea to invest your bitcoin in offline business? on: February 19, 2017, 03:43:43 PM
Yes, actually I use my bitcoins earning to put more funds on my business.
Its a convenient store actually, I don't have enough bitcoins right now,
but I'm planning to put more funds on my struggling agricultural farm.
I needed at least 4-5 btc on my farm. Although my brother is taking
care of it as of the moment, because I somewhat lease my farm to
him, I still want to manage it myself. Maybe If I can save enough
then I will put it all in there. But so far, only my convenient store is
being funded or added funds coming from by bitcoin earnings.

Quote

Cool, Have you ever thought to get crowd funding from bitcoin community to run and grow your business. Many bitcoiners are brave enough to invest even in PONZI scheme. I think bitcoiners will rush to stable and profitable  offline business to invest.

Nah. I'm just happy for now that I can get a continuous cash flow coming from
my bitcoins and going to my offline business. And my off-line business is already
taking much of my time. I think if I'm going crowd funding from our community
I can't focus on my other priorities in life. So right now I'm just satisfied on how
my offline business is doing. But again, as I have said, if I'm able to save enough
from my off-line business and bitcoin earnings, I will go and put everything in my
agricultural farm. It was very profitable actually (farm), until I lost my job a few
years ago that's why I was forced to let my brother took over from me for the
meantime.

I'm disappointed with the 2017 Slam-Dunk Contest. What happened to my
man Aaron Gordon? I guess he was trying too hard to impress the judge.
He should have just attempted a "safe" dunk enough for him to go to
the next round. I never seen so many attempts and misses on a contest.
IMHO, this is one of the worst Slam-Dunk Contest ever. Robinson did the
cleanest work of the night, needing the fewest attempts of the entire
field to claim the title.

11630  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Philippines: War on Illegal Gambling on: February 19, 2017, 11:05:57 AM
There are laws that regulated gambling in the Philippines. I think Duterte's target in his campaign
is the illegal one, like jueteng, STL (small time lottery) and others. However, I think with this
campaign he will be targetting on-line gambling as well. If you would recall last year, he singled
out Ongpin, and according to Duterte, an oligarch, which prompted Mr. Ongpin to sell his stake to
protect the electronic gambling company (Philweb) and its workers. He said he owns 53.76 percent
of Manila-based PhilWeb, a supplier of electronic gambling software he founded in 2000.

I don't know what's his plan on those on-line gambling sites that is accessible thru the internet.
I think if will be very difficult to block those sites. It will take a lot of cooperation from different
service providers in the Philippines just to get those sites not accessible to the country. And Filipinos
will always find a way how to access those sites anyways so for me this will not be a successful
campaign. They should only targets those illegal juetengs, masiao, STL, pusoy and other forms of
illegal games.

11631  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are the problems you experience while performing arbitraj? on: February 19, 2017, 09:29:17 AM
Yes the question is clear. Arbitrage techniques are applied in bitcoin trade. Do you have any problems when you try Arbitrage?
Are there things that negatively affect you? Are there any things that make you harm?

arbitrage is riskier than regular trading where you buy low and sell high. and it doesn't matter what i do, what matters is what you can and can't do.
in arbitrage trading you need to act fast in some cases and you need to be running fast bots with minimum latency in order to be able to do it successfully and make any profit.
and for that you also need a big spread among price in different exchanges and that is usually rare.

I agree on you. The buying and selling is fast and its easy to automate with bot,
However, the difficulty is transferring non-bitcoin to and from other exchanges.
Imagine if you buy bitcoins in US and sell somewhere else, let say China or India
Getting this converted and transferred back to the US will incurred transfer fees.
In the end, even a 1% or 10% price difference might not be worth running the
arbitrage cycle because its hard to deal with exchanges in other countries.

11632  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Things you didn't get when you first came to Bitcoin. on: February 19, 2017, 08:45:34 AM
When I first came to bitcoin, I know that is crypto-currency and you earn,
receive and transfer money. But I didn't know that you can actually lend bitcoin
for investment purposes and possible to generate 10-25 % yield in a month.
Another thing I didn't know initially, is the on-line bitcoin gambling site that accepts
bitcoins, which is very popular now. Then came earning from faucets, and other
methods to earn it. Today, bitcoin is now accepted that it is possible to pay for nearly
anything, although not yet everywhere.

11634  Economy / Economics / Re: Make money from money on: February 19, 2017, 07:19:13 AM
I simply believe money attracts money if you start a business with money needed for it it will be successful for sure but if you don't have enough money and starting for scratch then yes you'll have a hard time to make it successful business.

If will be difficult at the beginning and you have to face a lot of early
struggles, you should not give up but instead try to fight your way up
because in the long run we will succeed and you business will become
successful. I'm saying this I have experienced this myself. I put up a
business, (not online) and the struggles everyday is very hard. From
acquiring the merchandise to selling to customers, collecting liables is
so stressful, but I understand that its just part of my business that I
have to face. So up to now by business is still running.

11635  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-02-18] BTCC COO Samson Mow Departs The Company on: February 18, 2017, 11:36:03 PM
Samson Mow Exits BTCC For Good

It is not a big surprise to see major changes at Chinese bitcoin exchanges. After the recent PBOC-imposed changes, it was only a matter of time until personnel changes started to occur. Then again, having the COO of one of the China’s largest bitcoin exchanges quite his job was not something anyone has expected. It would appear the mounting regulatory pressure is getting to a few members of the exchange’s upper brass.

While Mow acknowledges working for BTCC has been quite interesting over the past two years, it remains unclear why he is leaving the company exactly. There is a lot of speculation as to why this decision was made. Most people think Mow will focus his time solely on working for Blockstream in the future, albeit neither party has confirmed or denied this. It is evident Samson Mow will not have a difficult time to find a new job in the world of bitcoin and cryptocurrency.

A tweet sent out by Bobby Lee sheds an interesting light on the Samson Mow departure, though. Mow will be moving to Canada to be with his family. It is unclear what this means exactly, yet we can only guess there may be some family angle at play here. Additionally, Canada seems to be more open-minded when it comes to bitcoin companies than China is right now.

Speaking of which, it would appear the Canadian bitcoin community is ready to embrace Mow with open arms. The Bitcoin Embassy Canada has sent out a tweet welcoming Samson back to Canada, albeit this does not mean Mow will start working for them. It is an intriguing development, that much is certain, yet no one knows for sure what the future will hold for BTCC or Mow moving forward.

Even though BTCC sees its COO depart the company, very little will change in the exchange moving forward. Withdrawals of both bitcoin and litecoin have been halted until March 15th, which will not change overnight. Moreover, it shouldn’t take long for anyone else to step up and take his place as COO of the BTCC company.

11636  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Internet Marketing on: February 18, 2017, 02:02:35 PM
Internet marketing is a sketchy area. There are people who claim to make $5,000 a month through IM. I suspect they must spend a lot on internet traffic to reach those numbers. Otherwise, its hard to explain why they offer paid mentorship programs to teach others IM. Those who have a good niche in internet marketing or elsewhere might be concerned with their market becoming oversaturated. I don't know if many IM gurus seeming extremely motivated to share their secrets, for a price, makes sense in the grand scheme of things.

I still don't believe those IM or paid mentorship being offered by a lot of so called gurus.
Why don't you just put up your on website or blog and just monetize it?. You can do all
the SEO and rank it up yourself. I think you just need to spend a lot of time and invest
yourself into it if you really want to earn money in the internet. The money you gonna pay
for someone to mentor you should be put into having your own website.
11637  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC FN 105: Lewis vs Browne Info and Prediction Thread on: February 18, 2017, 12:19:02 PM
fade Edmund!

Lewis

not great odds but I see Mc Mann and Esparza getting the W

not 100% sure yet but ill prob fade Hendricks too

Yes of course! Edmund Tarverdyan is a fraud and is now exposed all over the world as one. Why did Ronda Rousey still hire him as her head coach for the fight versus Amanda Nunes? Maybe he has charisma and is very good in scamming. He will make a good founder for altcoins.

My prediction, Derrick Lewis will KO Travis with a haymaker.

I'm picking Travis Browne here. I don't care if he's coach by Edmund Tarverdyan,
the guy Browne already knows what’s required if he is to reach the title. And I
think he is more agile than Lewis, so he will take advantage of the ring.
Brown will establish his jab to keep away from Lewis's powerful punch. And
once Lewis will get tired, Browne will put a submission on him.
So I bet on money on Travis Browne.

11639  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Depleted Uranium in Syria on: February 18, 2017, 10:04:51 AM
DU is the best weapon against armor. Without it the cannons on warthogs, ac130 gunships, tanks would have a hard time getting through enemy armor. If the US goes up against armor you can bet they will be using their sabot round in their tanks and DU rounds in their gunships.

Then the US should not tell from the very beginning that they would not use
depleted-uranium munitions in the campaigns. Then later changed it because
depleted-uranium ammunition would be the most effective weapon for
targeting hundreds of Islamic State oil trucks in the Syrian desert.
Although there is no international treaty or rule that explicitly bans their use,
the US will not look good in the eyes of the the world if they keep changing
their stance on whether to use it or not. And we all know the DU can cause
adverse effect on the environment as well.

11640  Economy / Economics / Re: Passive Income on: February 18, 2017, 09:03:37 AM
Only passive income I can think of is that if you have build a establish
on-line business that allows someone to purchase something or allows
transactions and cashflows requiring only minimal effort to maintain.
I guess it also apply to bitcoin as well, if you have website that offer
bitcoin as payment then this will be passive income.

If bitcoin will be mass adopted I think a lot of website will used as
as option for payments. Its hard to consider gambling as means
of passive income because the risk are high same as investing in
any doubler or HYIP which we all know are scam. So start putting
website and accept bitcoin as payment then you will have passive
income.
