So, for the s17 chip (bm1397AD), package dimensions are 8x8 mm, die looks like about 5mm x 5mm. Still seems like a lot of wafer real estate for a chip you can buy for $6. S19 chips are going for about $25.

mmm 25  a chip  and 2000 or so a wafer is 50 k a wafer.

Phil,

I'm still a newbie.  So viabtc > auto widthdrawall to say coinbase, then convert to btc, then to your personal wallet?

close.

Lets say I get 1  eth. takes me what ever.  It goes direct to Coinbase.

say it was 1 eth = 1200 usd.  sell 1/2 for cash. convert 1/2 to btc.

say 600usd  + 600usd worth of btc.

withdraw 400 usd to bank for bills.

hodl the 600usd in btc at coinbase.  if there is a strong rise in btc price sell a bit of it.

So I almost never have eth on hand. Other then when it builds up at viabtc.

There is a  quasi short hodl of eth as it takes a while to earn the 1 eth.
11663  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: January 08, 2021, 01:51:32 AM
Phil,

Are you holding your ETH or converting it right away to BTC?

Fuck eth I have 2 eth coins locked away in an old wallet that have been stuck since 2016.  I have spent years trying to jailbreak them so I just sell the sell some cash and convert some to btc.

The eth I earn pays bills.

I hodl Doge now down to 750000 of them

I hodl BTC .

Waiting on 4 cards

2 from amazon and 2 from newegg

2x 5700xt
2x 5500xt

should do 150mh and 400 watts at the wall.
11665  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 08, 2021, 12:21:40 AM

I need to buy a bigger broom to sweep back the stupidity that keeps working its way into this thread.

The U.S. will never write, debate, or pass a $14 trillion reparations bill, because that's fucking absurd.

Maybe you get a thrill by bunching your panties deep into your asscrack or something, but you shouldn't punish us by letting us know your fetishes.

Reparations is too complex to ever do correctly.

And most people fail to realize how hard on blacks both biden and harris have been.
So anyone that thinks blacks are going to score With harris and biden in charge is foolish or intentionally lying.

Just go back and see what Obama did to Flynt, Michigan.  Realize that both parties suck and to root for one over the other is like rooting for one wrestler over the other in the WWF you know wrestling is real.

I am for CCC

All I could find today for cards is this one.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/ASUS-GeForce-GTX-1660-SUPER-Overclocked-6GB-Phoenix-Fan-Edition-HDMI-DP-DVI-Grap/383275252137?

It is low power and will do around 20mh at 75 watts.  New full warranty.

A good squeeze it in card.

Also. you can run 6 of them on the Onda d1800 six slot board.

It will sell out.

Do I think a 6 x 244 = 1500 + with tax and 200 for the board and psu  1700 for

120mh

at 8 cents an mh = 8 bucks a day after power = 7.50 a day

1700/7.50= 227 days to pay out.

At $219 from NewEgg, is the Onda worth it?

no I am ordering direct from alibaba. 9 for 630

if the order works out I will sell a few here.

It is a solid board you can run 3 x 3080 on it using this psu.

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/seasonic-focus-gx-1000-1000w-80-gold-psu-full-modular-fan-control-in-fanless-silent-cooling-mode-10-yr-warranty-black/6414258.p?skuId=6414258

and this stick of ram

https://www.ebay.com/itm/4GB-PC3L-12800s-DDR3-1600MHz-1Rx8-Non-ECC-Elpida-EBJ40UG8EFU0-GN-F/373419759955?

with this usb stick

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-Bar-Plus-USB-32GB-64GB-128GB-256GB-USB-3-1-Flash-Drive-Silver-Wholesale/174221725390?

btw even usb sticks are getting costly.

I think you must test-drive your 1-2 rigs that will arrive, and decide bit later do you really need all other rigs, also you need to see can you maintain rigs, there are many underwater stones in overclocking/undervolting, power delivery, thermals, cleaning etc. if this rigs will be produce zero problems to you, then go on for more  Wink

This really true and good advice here.

Hey AlcoHoDL, recovering well I hope?

Yes, feeling better than ever!

Doctor said I should stay at home and wait it out. I did, and a couple of days later, ALL symptoms are completely gone, no headache, no fever (exactly 36.6 degC / 98 degF, without taking any pills), no diarrhea, no coughing (never had this), full strength, feeling absolutely great. Not taking any medication at all, as I wasn't taking any before it all started. Oximeter reading is between 98% and 99%.

I don't know if I'm going to die tomorrow or not, but today I feel great and I'm enjoying myself. Will keep an eye on it, of course, but my body tells me it's over for good. This is serious stuff, but I guess if the body is in good condition and there are no underlying illnesses, it can be taken care of by the body itself.

Bitcoin price is soaring and it's great to be back with the WO gang!

Onwards & upwards!

HoDL.

  Good news.

No matter what you think play it safe for a few more days.  What's a few days.

As you don't want to spread it around.

By Monday you should be cool.

With a shit ton more wealth due to your holdings.

If the US government keeps allowing large companies to place capitol into Bitcoin, I’m going to have to assume that the US government is Satoshi and they hold all the Satoshi coins..

Something is up..
How are they now so sure Bitcoin isn’t hackable or the gov won’t turn against it..
I’m thinking they must have some assurances from higher up..

Very likely to be true.

I suspect this run continues until Biden gets sworn in or until Trump get sworn in or does a re-election.

Mean while enjoy the profits.

In the mean time btc is knocking on 40k!

39.6k about 20 minutes ago on coinbase.

Latest Block:   664993  (7 minutes ago)
Current Pace:   112.3884%  (1730 / 1539.30 expected, 190.7 ahead)
Previous Difficulty:   18670168558399.59
Current Difficulty:   18599593048299.49
Next Difficulty:   between 20853370844478 and 20905400000286
Next Difficulty Change:   between +12.1174% and +12.3971%
Previous Retarget:   December 27, 2020 at 7:01 PM  (-0.3780%)
Next Retarget (earliest):   Saturday at 5:59 AM  (in 1d 18h 24m 44s)
Next Retarget (latest):   Saturday at 6:43 AM  (in 1d 19h 9m 28s)
Projected Epoch Length:   between 12d 10h 57m 47s and 12d 11h 42m 30s

the 12% maybe 13% jump. does not touch the price increase.

Logically speaking a lot of USA people with money are afraid of the election fight.

So if Biden is sworn in on Jan 20th the flood of assets to btc may stem.

$729,741,315,618. = BTC value.  It would be easy to shift 1 trillion to that. Due to fear of a USA disaster.  So 1.7/.7 = a 2.42 factor

so 2.42 x 39.6 = 96k is possible it the election unrest still flows on.

I sold a piece of btc today.

I will sell more if we go over 40k

please note I got the 729+ billion number directly from here

https://coinmarketcap.com

so shit coins are fine by me.

But you don't sell your BTC for shitcoins do you?   Wink

And we are on track for another Nice set of numbers.

If you go with the idea that fear over USA being able to get Biden in vs Trump cancelling the election and staying in.  I am thinking wealth will move towards BTc the cap of it just pasted 700 billion.  I think it will go past 1 trillion this month for sure.  That means over 50k.

Ok... this is quite a feat. But realistically, it can't just go up forever. What do you guys watch out for when trying to predict trends? Any good insight sites?

Realistically the question is how far can it go.

Ie how much wealth can transfer to it.  Easily  1 trillion can shift to btc in the next 15 days.   $711,835,120,885 is what it reads this morning on coinmarketcap.

It could go to $1,711,835,120,885 by the time Biden is sworn in. (if he is sworn in).

I live in the USA.  I am happy I have coin in case I need to leave the USA.

Lots of players are thinking fuck what happens if the USA shit is not over.  I got money that could be frozen.  I know I will get some BTC just in case.

To think that 1 trillion could come in to btc by Jan 20-22 is not crazy.

I am slowly selling small pieces of btc as he mining comes in.

I am selling Eth as it comes in.

I sold 25% of my Doge.  I may sell 25% more today.

But I will still have more then 65% of all my coin and slowly sell a bit more the rest of this rally.
11676  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 2021, time for a new general & diff speculation thread... on: January 07, 2021, 02:00:26 PM
Using the wafer yield calculator and using 12" wafer, a 10mm chip size with die size of 8x8mm and zero defects is comes up with a max of 904 chips per wafer. With default values for defects, 848 good dies per wafer.

That is not very many for using such a high cost node size... AND that is assuming 93.83% yield which I highly doubt is being achieved.

Lets further that number just a bit. How many chips for a s19pro?   210?

Lastly what does a 12 inch wafer cost to burn?
11677  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 07, 2021, 04:53:15 AM
The most profitable path is to buy buy buy and buy again.
At the current prices I do not think it will be a good idea. The profit is not that much so I wouldn't advise buying right now, play safe.

Unless you don't need the $$$ from your BTC/Crypto HODL/Hoard...in which case you intend to HODL 5 years to 10 years. (5 years only

due to real-life-emergencies). Also, I don't need the BTC/HODL to stay retired. Thus, I should 'probably' delve into my past and treat it like

the rainbows/fairydust/moonbeam/unicorn perfumed 'farts' that of which it was when I got into BTC/Crypto in 2013!

Pass it down the line. Give it away someday. IF I manage to live another 25 years, they will put me in a Nursing Home..take all my money (no cash

vulenrable adult issue) and maybe allow me 'some' management of my estate with an advisor (which at that point will tell me to put it into

a living trust anyway ..in that at best each year from now on at that age..is a 50/50 shot you'd come out the other end). Indeed from what I

could tell from my 'parents' in a nice Nursing Home..your life consists of activities run by college level girls p.t. going into a social work or health

related feild...and 'fantastical stories' to your peers/T.V./Bingo and if the young staff likes you 'extra pudding' Smiley

So I should just 'accumulate' and let it ride out of 'sheer' stubborness for when that day arrives or I kick the bucket before such. Tough being

in a Nursing Home and considered a Vulnerable Adult and such. Best case is go to a happy/nice place and have the above. So considering that

WTF let it ride...but ONLY if 'Real Life Issues' allow such and you can afford to lose the works...don't ya know...

as to my other point, all said an done 'retirement' is kinda a pain in the pandemic...no working out in gym (shotokan karate), no travel...so the

'now what' is approprate..need to find something 'stupid/odd' like Bitcoin Mining in 2013 for the next 10 years plus, was a lot of fun..but now...

meh...pandemic aside...still at a loss of what I can do of any note anymore at my age besides travel...the youtube video of the day they try to

drag me to the Nursing Home will however be epic with the Shotokan Karate Training..so at least I have that to look forward too! (goals...don't  ya know)

But picked a silly year of 2020 to have my mining wrap'd up (2018) and my house redone and other wrap up on such (2019) and planned to travel

in 2020 (oops!) ....so I hang out too much on www.bitcointalk.org until I can get a covid-19 shot and can at least 'try' traveling about.

So be careful what you wish for, you may surely get it!

Brad

American policemen have no issues to use excessive force, and they're pretty sure to get away with it. Of course, it's easier when it's 3 policemen to a single man... usually black.

No, usually white actually, according to official numbers, more white people then black people are victims of police violence.

Source? The Daily Stormer?

fake stats.

the actual count is higher for whites because there are a lot more whites.

236.5 million (2019). whites

41.99 million (2019) blacks

close to 5.7 to 1. well 5.64 to 1

that is google numbers if you google search

but 34% of people in prison are black
and 29% of people in prison are white.

most on bullshit low value drug busts.

If usa law was busting whites on low value drug charges the numbers would be closer.

I remember seeing an article but I can't find it. The statistic is based on the percentage of people with police interaction. As a percentage of people who encounter the police for whatever reason, whites are statistically the victim of police violence in much greater numbers than any other race. Probably because they are hopped up on some drug or trying to kill someone.

Of course, the counter argument is why do blacks encounter the police at a much higher rate than any other race.

I see the misdirection is working well among everyone, even here in the WO. How about finding the stats on the percentage of the say top 10% owners of wealth killed by police vs those of the bottom 50%. Or maybe difference of those 2 groups in prison.

What the hell does the color of the person matter when the real issue is, and always has been, the labor classes vs the capital classes.

Yeah the upper .1% will always use the rest as cannon fodder.
