Are you holding your ETH or converting it right away to BTC?
Fuck eth I have 2 eth coins locked away in an old wallet that have been stuck since 2016. I have spent years trying to jailbreak them so I just sell the sell some cash and convert some to btc. The eth I earn pays bills. I hodl Doge now down to 750000 of them I hodl BTC . |

close. Lets say I get 1 eth. takes me what ever. It goes direct to Coinbase. say it was 1 eth = 1200 usd. sell 1/2 for cash. convert 1/2 to btc. say 600usd + 600usd worth of btc. withdraw 400 usd to bank for bills. hodl the 600usd in btc at coinbase. if there is a strong rise in btc price sell a bit of it. So I almost never have eth on hand. Other then when it builds up at viabtc. There is a quasi short hodl of eth as it takes a while to earn the 1 eth. |

Any clue how many RTX 3080s I can realistically run on a EVGA 1300W or 1600W PSU? I think I will be able to source a few and would be interested how many I can run on a board. Right now I am running 8x Polaris cards, but because of power considerations 8x 3080s will probably not work. I assume I can run like 5?

My three card 3080 pulls 770 watts counting everthing at the kwatt meter I have a 1200 plat psu. I am pretty sure I can do a fourth on the psu. so I would guess 4 for the 1300watter and I would guess 5 for the 1600 watter. |

Saying they are buying out all the GPUs during a pandemic where people are forced to stay at home and saying that there are no good GPUs for sale unless its some 5 year old Radeon R9 280X or older GPUs.
I actually remember a few years back in 2017 when I was at the computer store. Some guy was complaining and swearing at miners saying they are distrupting the computer games business and computer stores should limit the stock to 1 per customer, which they were already doing.
So I guess, if you got any 4GB GPUs now seems to be the perfect time to Craiglist them.

Epoch #382 just hit and pretty much killed off all AMG 4G GPUs (unless running lolminer) and Antminer E3. Looking at one pool, https://ethermine.org/statisticsIt looks like so far ~15% of the hashrate has been removed from the network. The block times are longer according to, https://ethstats.net/ so I wonder how low it will keep on going. I am assuming 20-25% or so which is crazy high. Regarding lolminer on 4GB GPUs? I will probably just remove them from my farm and sell them on Craigslist. Basically there are 3 issues with lolminer. One there is no remote monitoring, there is no GPU throttling under overheat, they crash every 3 hours on average and the worst of all is the speed reduction. Under Epoch #380, my GPUs ran at 29.5MH/s each, then #381 it ran at 28.5MH/s, and an hour ago the speed decreased even further and runs at 27.5MH/s. So basically not worth the headache. RIP 4GB. Same problem with hashrate, (HiveOS / Lolminer). First card lost even more, from 29 -> 26 Mh/s. Next drop in hashrate, first card 23.6Mh/s, rest of the cards 26Mh/s, Going down quite fast. After it drops under 20Mh/s, it might be better to mine something else. Quite nice that you can make "profit" with 10Mh/s, its only cents but still. but network is rising so a lot of gear is getting added on. https://etherscan.io/chart/hashrate295 on the 24th And next, now 21.6Mh/s and 23.8 Mh/s, decrease are percentual, about 9% ? First drop was 3Mh/s, Second 2.4Mh/s and the latest 2Mh/s. Very hard call. 1) real seller 2) true warranty 3) good card know to do 95 mh steady So 900 + 90 tax = 990 usd vs 769 + 77 tax = 846 usd I am using my evga cards as an example mark up is say 150. Lets say we drop to 7 cents a mh or 6.65 a day you pay 1.65 = 5 a day but starts jan 31 so 150/5 = 30 days to make it up. I would consider buying them if seller is real if true warranty if a good card that does not wilt to 75-85mh Also are you buying : 1 2 5 10 20 I would not buy with all my cash. ie if you can get 2 I would get 1 and save cash if you can get 5 I would get 2 and save cash and btc if you can get 10 I would get 5 and save cash/btc/eth if you can get 20 I would get 10 and save cash/btc/eth good luck. |

i would not buy a card from a scalper/reseller unless its a small/reasonable markup for the trouble. Out of principle. Also im a big believer of being ready to mine before the times are good rather than react to good times. But thats just me, i also believe everyone should do what they want with their money without judgement. run the numbers, see the options/alternatives, run good bad scenarios see if it makes sense. At least a 3080 will still be good in 5 years to game/etc

Which make and model? some cards don't do 92-100 mh they do 75mh so do you know the make and model |
