11661  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Builing a Bitcoin minig Complex in Germany looking for Investors or Capital on: February 15, 2017, 07:48:07 AM
I think this thread needs to be moved on its proper child board.
You can either go to: Bitcoin Forum > Bitcoin > Mining > Mining support
to get support to your project. Or go to the Lending board
Bitcoin Forum > Economy > Marketplace > Lending to let
investors know of your new project and maybe someone
will lend you money to start your project.Just play around
with the forum and try to find investors.

Goodluck to your project!!!

11662  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: bitcoin how important to you? on: February 15, 2017, 07:10:48 AM
I used bitcoin to finance one of my website. So in essence bitcoin,
put a "extra money" on my wallet. And that extra money give me
other options where to put in. In this case I put up a website to
earn more. Another positive thing having bitcoin is I can buy commodities
in the internet and pay with bitcoins. I also used bitcoin to pay other
bills that needs to be settled. So without bitcoin, I would not
enjoy the financial freedom I'm having right now.
11663  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-02-14] It’s Impossible to Kill Bitcoin, Says Former Governor of China’s CB on: February 15, 2017, 06:06:25 AM
It’s Impossible to Kill Bitcoin, Says Former Governor of China’s Central Bank

L H Li, former Governor of PBoC and a member of the Financial & Economic Committee at China’s People’s Congress, stated in an interview for CCTV, China’s predominant state broadcaster, that it’s impossible to kill bitcoin. According to a translation by Eric Zhao from the Chinese Academy of Science, Li says:
“Bitcoin was built on a platform without national boundaries. If you want to kill bitcoin, it will be an impossible task. So, it will continue to exist. What’s important now is that we should properly regulate it.”

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/former-pboc-governor-its-impossible-to-kill-bitcoin/

It makes sense for China to declare this kind of statement regarding bitcoin
Bitcoin mining is thriving in there, so killing bitcoin will affect a lot of Chinese.
I also agree with him saying that “Bitcoin was built on a platform without national boundaries."
Killing it is like killing the Internet, because Internet is global without boundaries.
11664  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How do you decide when someone's a Nazi? on: February 15, 2017, 05:11:11 AM
Well you're a "nazi" when you firmly believe that the aryan race exists and is superior to other individuals and deserve to dominate the others.

By extension i guess you could qualify as a nazi everyone who believes the same thing but about another race. I
Nazi is now a word use for people who are in fact kind of "superracists" believing the sacred race should clearly dominate and/or destroy the other races.
In order to understand who the Nazis you just look at the Russian who live in Russia. The whole Russian propaganda 24 hours a day zombiruet people and inspire them that Russian is the greatest nation.

That's fascism not Nazism.
Fascism is the use of patriotism and the idea that one's nation is the strongest and greatest in the world, everything made under a strong State with high military.
Nazism is directly linked to the idea of racial superiority and biological right for one race to dominate all others (normally Aryans)

Fascism - Form of government. "Nothing against the state". The government is supreme, every constituent should and submit to the government.
Nazism - Belief or Ideology that the Aryan race is superior to all other races.

If someone believes that his/her race is the "perfect race" and superior to others,
then I guess you should be quality as Nazi.

The groups made the investments through their venture arms, joining another Japanese giant, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, as bitFlyer stakeholders.

11666  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: BitCoin - Where is it illegal ? on: February 14, 2017, 01:43:51 PM
Is This Real ? BTC Illegal in Russia ?

no it's not banned or either illegal, they are still deciding how to identify it

i know that for the time being it's illegal in bangladesh and thailand, and they arrested some miners in venezuela, you can take a look here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legality_of_bitcoin_by_country
Problem with Russia is that one time it looks like they (at least some high level politicians) are quite Bitcoin friendly, where later articles find their way to the net that Russia is planning to highly restrict Bitcoin usage.

These constant opposite signs of acting make all news in this matter that come from Russia untrustworthy. Not sure whether or not it's (on purpose) wrongly translated, or that Russia really doesn't know what to do with Bitcoin.

But the best thing is to take all these news articles with a grain of salt, or better said, a truckload of salt. Especially in a time where fake news articles are popping in big numbers.

Yes. It looks like there's a lot of contradiction with regards to bitcoin acceptability in Russia
And it looks like Russia are banning a lot of websites recently like putting a internet crackdown
of sort. So they are putting a lot of censorship, and it looks like bitcoin will be affected, And
definitely one should take news coming from Russia with a grain of salt.
11667  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin can only be a gold 2.0, nothing more on: February 14, 2017, 12:32:41 PM

I hope this post gets shot down and I am 'proved' wrong. I have been a supporter of Bitcoin for a few years but....

It is becoming apparent that Bitcoin will only ever fulfill the role as gold 2.0, and that is... a Currency of Last Resort.

For me, Bitcoin is still not a currency, only a commodity, because of
its need to be stable over time to be considered as currency.

Quote

It is a currency of last resort because it is so inefficient. I rack my brain daily to 'conjure up' a use case (that I can test) that relied on Bitcoin and has a preferable outcome when compared to regular fiat and 3rd party services.

The ways in which Bitcoin is similar to gold - expensive to purchase with your wages (ie. spreads, exchange fees, bank transfer fees etc.), very limited on who will accept as payment (most vendors unwilling to accept due to the same reasons/ ie. expensive when changing back to fiat) and slow to transfer (debatable one).

Bitcoin is not expensive to purchase, as compare to gold. You can buy
it in any exchanges. If vendors are unwilling to accept, you can have
a lot of options i.e. paypal. So again, bitcoin can co-exist with fiat
and other modes of payment in an online transaction.

Quote
I don't even think drug dealers are using Bitcoin that much. When the EU calculated the UKs GDP to figure how much the UK should pay into the EU, they took into account how the illegal drugs trade is worth to the UK (I kid you not! Story http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/economics/10861170/Drugs-and-prostitution-add-10bn-a-year-to-UK-economy.html). They calculated it to be worth £4.4 Billion. The UK is only a small country so I'm sure that if you add Europe and the US we're talking tens of Billions. How much of that is going through the Bitcoin network I guess we'll never know - I would like to see the stats if they are available as to how much of the Bitcoin network transactions are the exchanges and how meuch is individuals or smaller firms.

I don't know if we have stats like this. But I'm also interested to one.

Quote
So what is Bit[Suspicious link removed]d for? It's inaccessible, expensive to acquire and has limited appeal. It has been an excellent investment over the past few years (like gold Smiley ) but I can't help but think that when our banks administer their own blockchain currencies that offer efficiency and with that efficiency comes additional use-cases that really work.

We'll have to see this. Again bitcoin is not accessible, and not expensive and has limited appeal.
Yes, its an excellent investment for long term but the risk are high.
11668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: February 14, 2017, 11:05:36 AM
Another loss for the Warriors tonight, they were dominated by the Denver Nuggets at home, didn't know Klay Thompson wasn't playing. I can say the big factor that affect in the game in favor on the Nuggets is the rebounding, tonight the warriors had only 27 rebounds while the Nuggets makes 52.
Bad night for the warriors, I'm sure it has break a lot of parlays tonight. lol

I also didn't know the Thompson is injured as well. I think he is suffering from
a sore right arch. While Thompson's injury doesn't seem particularly serious,
losing him for any extended period would affect Warriors rotation.
Warriors have lost 9 games this season, matching their total from last season.

Well it looks like media trying to paint bitcoin now as a good investment
option specially for those who are willing to take the risk. And this kind
of articles are good for the bitcoin community because it exposed it
for those investors who don't have an idea what bitcoin is.
For me, negative or positive press is still press so thanks to the author  Smiley
Also, its one way that it will be mass adopted sooner than we know.
11670  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is no longer a currency on: February 14, 2017, 05:33:08 AM
I say this constantly.  Bitcoin is a good store of currency and a good--but extremely risky--investment.  But because of its volatility, it makes a lousy currency.  I hate spending it.  You can get anything with cash, but only a very limited selection of things with bitcoin, and I see no advantage with spending bitcoin.  None.  It makes absolutely no sense to me!

Agreed. You cannot have bitcoin as currency where in a few days
or even hours your money will be nothing and worthless because
of volatility. How can you do business with that kind of situation?
For bitcoin to become a medium of exchange, it needs to be stable.

Are bitcoin getting to being stable? Are we there? Well I hope so,
But I believe that if bitcoin could/should establish as a commodity,
the price needs to rise in a steadily manner over time.

UNESCO already denounces this fake statement:

We wish to refer to the recent allegations posted on the website juntakareporter, citing an alleged statement and certificate from UNESCO declaring "Islam as the most peaceful religion of the world". Such statement was never made by the Organization and that the certificate reproduced on this website is a fake one. The website that published this information is a satirical media.

11672  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Rothschilds: 8 times richer than the richest 8 on: February 13, 2017, 02:29:12 PM
The  Rothschilds are far more richer than 8 richest people on earth since they own majority of the banks in the world. And imagine banks have control over money and place huge interest on loans. They make money from thin air and use our own money against us. Aside from that the biggest reason why they are richer than the richest 8 is that because those 8 individuals are clients of banks owned by rotschild and those banks are earning a lot from those 8 people.

And I read that to keep the riches among the families, they are encouraged
the arrangement of marriages among relatives. They are also good in taking
advantage of any situations to gain more. Like the Napoleonic war.

On July 18, 1815, a courier working for Rothschild informed the English government that Napoleon appeared to be suffering defeat at Waterloo. The English government, believing instead that they were losing the battle, dismissed the courier's report and believed it to be false information. At this point, with England's future seeming dire, Rothschild began selling all of his bonds, encouraging rumors that Napoleon had won and that English government paper would soon be worthless. Due to Rothschild's reputation as a influential, renowned and respected investor, the panicked English public followed his lead. The mass selling resulted in a total collapse of the English stock exchange. It was then that Rothschild's agents began snatching up bonds and stock at record-low prices. Two days later, when Wellington's envoy confirmed that Napoleon Bonaparte had indeed suffered a crushing defeat, Nathan Rothschild was effectively in control of the English stock exchange. As of 2015, the English government was still paying back money owed to the Rothschild family from this Napoleonic manuever.

Nathan's timing and frugality has led to the saying, "buy on the sounds of cannons, sell on the sound of trumpets," referring to the fact that the start of war is a good time to invest in a nation and that the end of war is the time to sell.

They are investing since the beginning of 1800's that why the family
has accumulated so much wealth distributed among the heirs all over

Just like what answers have Electrum wallet is the best so far.
I setup a standard wallet with ver 2.7.18 and so far its running
smooth with just a few minor errors which is not Electrum fault
but by network connections. The UI is so simple and provides
you a lot of tools you can find on other wallets. I tried to download
Bitcore core but you need to sync the 100 GB blockchain so I stopped using it.
11674  Other / Politics & Society / Philippines: War on Illegal Gambling on: February 13, 2017, 12:30:03 PM
Link: http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/870892/dela-rosa-declares-war-on-illegal-gambling

"President Duterte has signed an executive order further regulating the issuance of gambling licenses – including those for online operations – and directing the Philippine National Police (PNP) and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to go after gambling syndicates and unlicensed operators."

After its war on drugs, The Philippines is now going full swing on its anti-gambling campaign.
After being booted out from President Rodrigo Duterte's war on drugs, the Philippine National
Police (PNP) will now be entering a "war against illegal gambling."

What's your thoughts on this? Duterte really means business and he really wants to clean
his country.

11676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: February 13, 2017, 10:01:39 AM
Finally the New York Knick were able to break their losing streak, and this night they defeated the San Antonio Spurs. Having said that, it made me realize that this team just love challenges, they do not want to play harder with average team and therefore I will be fading this team against weaker team.

It was a low scoring game but Melo and Rose help their team to win, hopefully this will be a good start.

Yes, snapping a four game losing streak win a big win over San Antonio.
And Carmelo Anthony moved ahead of Charles Barkley for 25th on the NBA's
all-time scoring list. I hope Melo and Rose will blend together perfectly to
help Knicks to at least a play-off spot.

I don't know if you guys see this video of ex-New York Knicks Charles Oakley.
He was arrested after getting into an altercation with security guards midway
through the first quarter. Oakley was removed from Madison Square Garden
and handcuffed.

Link: https://cointelegraph.com/news/georgia-becomes-first-country-to-register-property-on-blockchain

To summarized:

The Georgian National Agency of Public Registry and BitFury signed a memorandum of understanding paving the way to extend services to the registration of new land titles, demolition of property, mortgages, purchases and sales of land titles, rentals as well as notary services.
There are many other projects focusing on Blockchain land title services apart from the BitFury and Republic of Georgia drive.

The government of Georgia simply recognized Blockchain technology
and taking advantages of it. But I believe  this will be a private kind
of Blockchain that only Georgia government can access.

11678  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Vladimir Putin wants an apology from Fox News on: February 13, 2017, 06:17:35 AM
Russian President Vladimir Putin is calling on Fox News to apologise after talk show host Bill O'Reilly called him a "killer" during a Sunday interview with US President Donald Trump.

Source : http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/vladimir-putin-wants-apology-fox-news-host-bill-oreilly-calling-him-killer-1605018

IMHO, Putin has the right to ask talk show host Bill O'Reilly for calling him a "killer"
during a Sunday interview with US President Donald Trump. There are no solid
evidence linking Putin ordering the killing of someone. All I'm saying is that there
is not enough evidence or no evidence to know that. Maybe the people who have
been killed have others enemies and they are blaming Putin for all the killings.
Similar to Philippines Duterte's war on Drugs. A lot of killings has been going
on that country and they are blaming the government for it. But it seems that
the killings are done by the rival gangs and they are riding on Duterte's campaign
so that the blame could be put on the police.

Again, this boils down to evidence, If Bill O'Reilly has the evidence to prove Putin
guilt, then he should show us and not just give us Bill Gertz’s book, iWars
to learn about Putin’s violent history. If he has no evidence he better stop
calling Putin a "killer" and apologize.

11679  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Chinese police raid miner factories in its oil capital city, 1k+ miners seized on: February 13, 2017, 05:16:51 AM
Legit?

Electricity theft - sounds plausible.
Electricity theft is an serious issue and they were greedy and dump enough to do so,with thousand plus miners they could have earned bitcoins well enough to cover the electricity charges, but greed got the better of them

Yes, so said that these miners resorted to illegal tapping of electricity so they can save more and churn out more profits. I think that mining in China for crytocurrencies is allowed but you have to follow their rules and regulations otherwise they will kill you lol. Smiley

That why you gonna love those China man, they would do anything illegal like
copying or faking items and selling cheap just to get their ROI fast.  Grin
However, electricity is cheap and their is abundant supply in it in China
so why steal it? Do thy know that stealing electricity itself is an imprisonable
crime in their country? Perhaps even life imprisonment?

Yeah,  I agree, maybe is "greed" taking over and the lure of getting the bitcoin
is the reason why they are resorting to illegal activities.
11680  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoin's role in black market organ donation on: February 13, 2017, 04:10:54 AM
Anyone heard of organs being purchased on the black market with bitcoin?

Selling organs is illegal - which is so stupid, by the way - so it stands to reason that bitcoin would be a convenient way to facilitate those transactions. Anyone heard of this? I don't frequent the dark web much so I'm not sure how much it comes up.

No i never heard of organs being purchased on the black market with bitcoin.
It is done underground with a middleman, usually in poor countries. and it
a very lucrative business. Due to high demand, illegal brokers prey on poor
people who are forced to sell their kidneys and other organs for fast cash.
Some just want to get easy money, while other due to financial trouble
like paying some debt.

Poor people don't know about bitcoin and I think they will only conduct
business with fiat only.
