11781  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Roger Ver and blocksize on: June 02, 2016, 07:00:48 PM
and why should Laudas opinion matter.
he doesnt know C++. and has never read a line of bitcoin code.
So to comment about bitcoin or generally share your opinion ,one has to read the entire source code from the core repository ? Wish that rule was implemented in the forum too,we will have all smart people around.
All that I see there is: "This user is currently ignored.".

Don't you know Roger Ver is an  - Bitcoin Angel Investor & Bitcoin Evangelist ? Well that's what his official website says and hence his opinions do matter to those who follow him.I don't see anything wrong with that.
Don't you know that my Cat is the supreme Jedi savior? Well, that's what her official website says and thus you should worship her. I don't see anything wrong with that. [1]

Hopefully you see what I'm getting at with [1]. Anyhow, read the posts from Carlton regarding Ver.
11782  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Four Fascinating Ways To Get Free Bitcoins on: June 02, 2016, 06:14:56 PM
The correct title should be:
Four useless ways to waste your time trying to get "free" Bitcoin.

You are a full member and yet you do not how a signature campaign on this forums works
I'd even say that the less people know about them the better.

Yeah but it would take you years of doing this everyday to get anything worth while, to be honest its not worth the effort.  Roll Eyes
Exactly. It is just a waste of time, and time equals to potential money so this is in no way "free". It involves work.

Go find a job to buy some bitcoins, learn how to trade in exchanges or just hold it as an investment.
That's the answer to all questions regarding the potential earning of money.
11783  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / MOVED: Poll: What do you think the price of bitcoin will be after 6 months? on: June 02, 2016, 01:56:23 PM

11784  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Roger Ver and blocksize on: June 02, 2016, 01:44:24 PM
Well I just wondered since he has such a huge influence in the bitcoin world. If he were to flip and trash talk bitcoin like Hearn did, it would cause the price to plunge.
I wouldn't mind him quitting either. Such people stop being beneficial to the ecosystem at one point (e.g. Hearn).

Nothing has been 'rolled out', network transaction capacity is the same as ever and nothing in the immediate future will be done, meanwhile we are, as we've been for many months now, at maximum transaction capacity.
There are two possible cases:
1) We are at maximum capacity and adoption has completely stopped.
2) We are not at maximum capacity and adoption has not stopped.
I'm pretty sure that we are still in the second one (e.g. my mempool has not been constantly rising).

Part of it would be to drive new traffic to his bitcoin.com and subdomains. He has a forum that is not doing very well and a casino to promote.
That shouldn't surprise people considering that he was spam-advertising his forum here during AMA.
11785  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Roger Ver and blocksize on: June 02, 2016, 01:22:52 PM
The real question is why do you care what Roger Ver thinks? As far as I'm concerned, his opinions are as valuable as those of any other random human on this planet. He dislikes Core, he dislikes Segwit, and r/bitcoin and BTCT. Do I need to say more?
11786  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Collectable auctions can be posted in this section! Use [Auction] tag. on: June 02, 2016, 08:09:46 AM
Amazing, no longer have to sift through all the account auctions anymore Smiley
Technically you still have to until everyone starts posting related auctions here, but it is a nice start.

Agreed. I love the idea of combining sections using the [Auction] tag, but the editing abilities of both the seller and the bidder are tricky and potentially dangerous issues. I hope a solution is discovered. (However, it wouldn't bother me to continue using the two separate sections.)
Well, I don't see this being a problem often, but there's still that little chance that will cause end up damaging. What could be done is to recognize [Auction] tagged threads and disable editing abilities. Additionally, I was thinking of a small grace-period in which posts could be edited or deleted (e.g. in the case of mistakes, or accidental replies). However, this might be a thing suited for the new forum.

The OP of an auction could also have a term that if someone edits any of their posts then all of their bids are invalid.
As a minimum punishment this sounds good to me.
11787  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would you do if after a year bitcoin replaces all the world currencies? on: June 02, 2016, 08:01:30 AM
well i guess you are right about the idea that some people will have to have some big losses in order for others to make some more money, i actually did not think about it that way before

though by saying rich i did not mean that i would like to have that much money, i wouldnt have where to put it, i wanted to say that i would like to make enough money for buying the stuff i would like
You are talking about having a, let's say, adequate amount of money where you would be able to buy the 'stuff that you like' and not have to work anymore? That can be a variating sum depends on wishes and your region. As far as the thread is concerned, I've warned you what was going to happen:
You are most likely going to end up with random 1-2 2-3 liners ("I'll do X"; "I'll do Y" type of answers) from spammers.
The longer this thread stays alive the worse it is going to get.

Bitcoin is digital thing , can't replace any physical stuff like cash.  Grin Grin IMO
So e-mails are a digital and they could not possibly replace physical stuff like post, right? But they did. You're trying to make a very ridiculous, and closed-minded, point.
11788  Other / Meta / Re: Paid Signatures Increases Likelihood of Getting Banned on: June 02, 2016, 07:55:46 AM
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1274316.0;all seems like sig ad post count bumping galore.
There are a few examples of such threads (that are still not locked). I've reported it.

These are the threads where all butthurt users who did not get a chance to enter in any of the campaigns, aggregate themselves and complain against them.
I doubt that. There are people who are currently signature participants and would like to see them gone for good.

If you had a true intention of contributing towards bitcoin community then you wouldn't have wasted time in these bullshit discussions which has no end point to it. Oh the irony! Roll Eyes
It has a point. Signature campaigns are horrible and I doubt their potential benefits to the ecosystem. Most of the senior members that I've had interaction with agree on removal of signature campaigns.
11789  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would you do if after a year bitcoin replaces all the world currencies? on: June 01, 2016, 09:36:31 PM
Exactly what is the point of this thread and exactly what do you think is the value in such a discussion? You are most likely going to end up with random 1-2 liners ("I'll do X"; "I'll do Y" type of answers) from spammers. After reading those sentences it is easy to realize that your reasoning behind your own involvement in Bitcoin is false (e.g. greed: getting rich). Bitcoin replacing all of the currencies in the near future, is not only improbable, it is a joke. People here have gone way beyond reality and are swarming with optimism (e.g. the upcoming halving). This is going to have some deep negative after-effects.

besides that i would tell about it to all my relatives in order for them to become rich too, and what would you do if that suddenly would start happening?
This doesn't work that way. Exactly where do you think that this money comes from? Someone has to lose money in order for you to profit. Additionally, in the case where there is a singular currency (Bitcoin) you would not be able to measure the value as you do today (e.g. no price in USD). Anyhow, if there was a decent chance for the traditional currencies to be replaced soon, it would most likely not be done solely by Bitcoin, but a few cryptocurrencies that would be at the top.
11790  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Memory is cheap - on: June 01, 2016, 03:44:36 PM
The post is about cheap memory.
Correct.

Bandwidth is another issue.
They're correlated in this case.

Bandwidth is very cheap also.
The definition of 'cheap' is subjective and internet speeds (and provided plans) have a huge variation based on regions. This is why the global average speed is quite low.

i guess its about the difficulty to mine as years goes by the deeper and deeper it would be. just like gold as the time goes by it is harder to find and its price is increasing because of the difficulty same in bitcoin. So the mining site will provide new technology to cope up in mining bitcoins and it will be m more expensive to us to buy more powers.  Grin
This post does not have any relevance to the original post. In other words, signature spam.
11791  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hack me on: June 01, 2016, 03:36:53 PM
What kind of password are we talking about here? I don't think that this is the right section for such a thread.
11792  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Kretanje cijene on: June 01, 2016, 11:59:42 AM
11793  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: early coins moving? on: June 01, 2016, 11:49:44 AM
But if Bitcoin loses its perceived value, then items that can be purchased via Bitcoins become unreachable and people will stop using Bitcoins (and uses Fiat or ETH) and the Bitcoin system will be a waste.
No. You will just need to use more Bitcoin to acquire the goods that you want. It is simple as that. Those that truly think that the price per Bitcoin will keep infinitely rising are being irrational at best.
11794  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: early coins moving? on: June 01, 2016, 11:17:36 AM
I was wondering who is going to inherit the Satoshi Nakamoto coins after say 50 years? If there is really a group behind that pseudonym then who is going to be in control of the coins later on and are they going to split the coins between themselves? I wonder what will happen to the private keys when the original owners die of age?
Wondering in this case equals to speculating, so it is useless. As far as we know, those private keys could have been printed and eaten by a unicorn. You need not worry about these things.

I worry for a crash in prices once satoshi's coins are moved.
It doesn't matter. 1 BTC will always equal to 1 BTC. Even if 1 Bitcoin = $0.1, Bitcoin will remain functional.

..did Dr. Wright end up moving any of satoshi's coins as he said he would do within 30 days of 30 days ago?  I don't see it.
No, because he is not Satoshi and because he probably (hopefully) does not have access to any of his private keys (in case that he did have some sort of connection with the actual Satoshi).
11795  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ToominCoin aka "Bitcoin_Classic" #R3KT on: June 01, 2016, 07:41:06 AM
I'm more or less completely beside myself at Zander's claims that Classic implements BIP9: https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/4lvdsj/repost_from_rbitcoinclassic_warning_flag_while/d3qztv7?context=1

He might as well also say that Core implements 109 for all the relationship to reality that his remarks have.
Well, this is quite interesting. He claims that he implemented it even though he did not? He seems competent now.

Probably, bitcoin becomes much stronger after having had identified these falsehoods and pointing them out and then also being on guard against future simlarly-situated baloney ruses
I've said this in a few threads that claimed that the 'war is over' since Classic is pretty much gone, this is not the end and this will not stop. Your next controversial HF might be just around the corner.

11796  Economy / Digital goods / MOVED: [WTS] Dunkin Donuts Account w/ Gift Card Balance on: May 31, 2016, 10:46:02 PM

Reason: Hacked accounts.
11797  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: transaction speed of Bitcoin as users increase on: May 31, 2016, 06:27:28 PM
You, saying this? Please go back to all the topics from last July. I wasn't the only one. Plenty of transactions didn't go through, and that may happen again tomorrow. The network can handle some 11,000 transactions per hour, that's highly inadequate if we want BTC to become the world's leading cryptocurrency.
Yes, I'm saying this. Unless we are talking about an attack of some sort (which I believe might be in the specific case that you're talking about), transactions will not take long to process if you know how to properly use Bitcoin. Not including the proper fee at the time == improper use (assuming that you want the TX to be confirmed quite quickly). I've been transacting over the years and have never had any kind of problems that others have complained about.

Let's be honest, how many payment methods can handle 1 billion transactions a day?
-snip-
Those systems are quite different than Bitcoin. Just imagine if Bitcoin had the confirmation time that Visa has. As far as that aspect is concerned, Bitcoin is better by a huge margin. It might not be able to handle so many TX's today, but it will get there.
11798  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Websites accepting bitcoins on: May 31, 2016, 02:13:00 PM
That comes down to what you want to buy. Unless you elaborate, this thread is pointless.
11799  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Hacking on: May 31, 2016, 02:05:37 PM
Bitcoin as a network, i.e. the peer-to-peer currency is currently not hackable. The only thing that can happen is this:

Your wallet where you keep your Bitcoins could be hacked. Also the exchangers. There is always a risk, nothing is 100% secured.
However, this has nothing to do with network vulnerabilities.
11800  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core version 0.12.1 released on: May 31, 2016, 01:55:23 PM
I use it and immediately run "uninstaller" because I don't like it.

Take time to sync.
That's the point of a 'full client'. It takes time to download and synchronize the whole blockchain.
