Hi all. Can you please give suggestion how much I need so I can setup my own mining rig? Thank you in advance.

You'll need about approx 571 deutschmarks for that.  No more, no less.
1182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help me plan my build... on: January 04, 2018, 03:35:35 PM
Yeah that's what I'm mining with them.  500 sol/s per card ... Around 110W per card.
1183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help me plan my build... on: January 04, 2018, 12:00:34 AM
I think the Zotac cooling thing was that the mini's don't advertise ball bearing fans.  I'm not sure about the amp extremes.  I'm sure you can figure that out though.

I have 12 EVGA 1070ti FTW2 split between two rigs.  So far as good on them.  I hear good things about them, but they've only been running for a couple of weeks, so I don't have any personal long term experience with them.
1184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help me plan my build... on: January 03, 2018, 11:06:59 PM
Vega 56 or 1070ti.  I don't do the mini cards and I don't buy Gigabyte cards.
1185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Looking at starting up a mining rig on: January 01, 2018, 04:37:04 AM

How many GPU's do you use, would you say it would be profitable with 3 Nvidia 1070's with a 4GHZ CPU?

Electricity costs would be next to nothing as I am renting.

Thanks!

cpu really doesnt matter in your case ...
free eletricity doesnt exist , someone paying for it. If your landlord giong to notice the power bill is 2x , 3x or 4x what he paid before , you going to pay for the power you using Smiley In this case make sure you know how much you have to pay for each kw/h you are using , including all the taxes and fees Smiley !!!
About the profitability i would suggest THIS topic you need to read Smiley

keep this in your mind :
None of those calculators you are seeing on the web can tell you what's coming tomorrow , months later or 6 months later , a year later!
Those calculators telling you about today , at that moment when you typing in your information !

Hi xxcsu

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction Smiley

I think I would be up for "taking the leap of faith" into the lottery of mining cryptocurrency, initially I would be willing to put forward £1,000-£1,250 into GPU, CPU motherboard etc.

On your recent mining (if you have) would you say this is a positive move, or more money, more investment etc?

A noob like me can use all the help he can get, haha!

Start small and expand based on your findings.
1186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: what (not who) makes a stable/good motherboard? on: January 01, 2018, 03:31:04 AM
well in all of my rigs
i use asus z270p prime and i never had any kind of issues with mob
asus z270p is my go to for mining purpose mob
there has to be something else wrong with the config

Same here.  I have three rigs running with Asus Z270p's.  In the process of building a 4th.  Haven't had any trouble with them.
1187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 20 Amp Surge Protector Options? on: January 01, 2018, 01:54:45 AM
I was talking to an electrician about whole house surge protection and he basically didn't under the purpose.  Does it shut down everything at the breaker box when a surge comes in, preventing the surge from entering the house?  In that case, it would have to be reset manaully?  Basically what this guy was saying is that if your home is properly grounded at the meter outside, he didn't understand the need for this.
1188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Question: Nicehash w/ Coinbase wallet on: December 31, 2017, 10:40:34 PM
hello...i can confirm the payout is min    0.001 BTC and it is virtually instant.  happy new year!! Grin

hello and thank you for your response. Currently i have .00113 BTC as my "Balance" in NiceHash. No Signs of it transferring to my linked coinbase wallet. How come?

Why don't you ask them?
1189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What cryptocurrency i can mine with asic antminer s9? on: December 31, 2017, 09:26:20 PM
Personally, I wouldn't buy from anyone other than Bitmain, unless I knew the person I was buying it from.  You'll probably be waiting for 6-8 weeks on anything from Bitmain, but if you try and go buy one off eBay or Amazon, you're going to pay A LOT more to get it faster ... And possibly run the risk of being scammed.
1190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Are 1070 TI's the next best GPU for mining? 4.7 sols per watt on: December 31, 2017, 07:32:16 PM
Hi dudes,

i will get three ROG-STRIX-GTX1070TI in couple Days

i almost had to sell my soul for this huge investment..because of Vosc Coin Channel  its debt pay of time now.

also my GF looks at me with that rlly not ok looking face.. ( damn.. please help me out guys )

currently i run a 970 with awesome miner i tried profit switching and tried only Zcoin(1,03mh/s) and only Zcash(285H/s) (@ mining pool hub )-> i had to shut it down -> i was able to get only 1,50$ per day with that card or lower.. whole system draws 145 Watts from the wall ( card draws 93 w  ccminer lyra2z)
How in Earth do they get 2,70$ when using recently hacked nicehash estimator https://www.nicehash.com/profitability-calculator/nvidia-gtx-970?e=0.25&currency=USD

Do you guys get around 4$ per card per day
as recently hacked nicehash claims to get ??->  https://www.nicehash.com/profitability-calculator/nvidia-gtx-1070-ti?e=0.1&currency=USD

Why is profit switching so darn not doin any profit?
do i really have to abandon my 970?

Back in the day´s i played games but now i can't due to 100% gpu load Cheesy - so be it.

how can i reduce my system wattage of 65 watts further ( no hdd's, 2500k @ 1600 ghz two ram sticks.. ) is this old tech pulling that kind of wattage?
i have a Watt meter connected.

i am scared to be stuck around 2-3$ income per 1070 ti card i pay 0.25 cents per kwh so i am really looking at the efficiency 110W setting if i can manage to get it stable
how much are u getting out of this card and bloddy how?
any general thoughts?

regards

Marco

Well ... If I sell my ZEC when it's at a price that can translate into $4 per card per day, I will have made $4 per card per day.  You're electricity is pretty expensive.  Mine is 0.10 cents per kwh.  As far as getting them down to 110W, I tweaked the core clock, memory clock, and power  settings with afterburner.  If you're using a watt meter at the wall, it's going to appear to be around 130-135W per card with the motherboard factored in.  The 110W figure is coming from the nvidia smi tool.  You can run it from the command line.  It's in C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\NVSMI.
1191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I Realized something today... on: December 30, 2017, 09:18:38 PM
I've been on this forum for less than three months and I'm already irritated by the constant repetition of the same basic questions that get asked over and over again which are not questions based on any research whatsoever.

Can't imagine how those feel who have been around for years.
1192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: So, what do you do with all the boxes? on: December 30, 2017, 09:10:43 PM
Here in the USA at least when doing an RMA they always specify to not include the original box or any accessories.  I know that in much of Europe at least you are required to keep the box for warranty, but here in the USA there's little reason to. It may be nice for eBay but as long as you keep lots of anti-static bags on hand and save motherboard drivers discs I don't think it's an issue.

Didn't realize USA was that way.  I haven't sent anything in for warranty repair or replacement in years.  Mining or non-mining.
1193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I have some important questions, please help on: December 30, 2017, 07:55:50 PM
what in the actual fuck did I just read?

I found lots of questions that are often not answered and neglected on this forum and put em all in one thread

Sorry for fooling anyone, I don't have 12000 GPUs Sad

We never actually thought that you did.  No one with a mining operation of even 5% what you mentioned would be asking the stupid fucked up questions that you did.
1194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: So, what do you do with all the boxes? on: December 30, 2017, 07:40:45 PM
I keep boxes for everything that is under warranty.  And if you have the space, keep them forever.  If you ever go to sell the cards, it's nice to have the original packaging.
1195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: what should i mine on: December 30, 2017, 07:36:46 PM
can i use cloud mining services if im under 18? What are the most profitable coin for cloud mining? i want to hold the coins

This is the wrong thread for cloud mining talk.  But just so you know ... It's way more profitable to mine with your own hardware and some of the cloud mining services are just straight up scams.
1196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NEED HELP ! Asus Z270-P got problem with 5. GPU on: December 30, 2017, 07:29:06 PM
I’ve given up on the 6 that I bought, for me it’s not worth the effort to get the motherboard to run so I’m trying the z370a pro

Why are you giving up?  I have two six card rigs running with Z270 boards.  I did have problems on the first one, but after changing the bios settings, no problems whatsoever.
1197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Are 1070 TI's the next best GPU for mining? 4.7 sols per watt on: December 30, 2017, 02:18:28 AM
FTW should be good cards, but the dual power connector makes them harder to deal with in a multi-card rig.

Gotta wonder if EVGA knows why the SC model is such a big hit.....

What do you think about the splitters that are out there?  I have some coming next week to try out on my rigs with FTW cards.  Do you have any rigs running with them?  I'm curious to know how they hold up in the long term.  I'm also curious to know how the 8-pin to dual 8-pin authentic evga cables (that we discussed in another thread) that came with my 1000W GQ's do in the long term.  And I'm curious to know how my GQ's do in the long term based on what you said in that other thread.  I like EVGA as a brand that I feel like puts out quality products, so I would never think twice about using a cable they made that is 8-pin to dual 8-pin.  I am always skeptical about all of the others.

It's all so much fun though ... In the end, I want every rig that I build to run 24/7/365 without a single issue.  Lol ... That will never happen, but trying and testing and gaining knowledge has so much value, that just makes this stuff fun, in my opinion.
1198  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mining Bitcoin on: December 30, 2017, 12:17:47 AM
Is Bitcoin mining available to general public, as Ethereum is?
If so, can someone point me to the instructions. I couldn't find any.

It's available for everyone. But it's like manufacturing cars. You can assemble one for fun at home but is only profitable to the industries.

Havent seen an accurate answer like this one in years.
as you said unless you pay no electricity for mining better buy and hold.

Lol.
1199  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I am underage and having extreme difficulty buying Bitcoin. Help a kid out! on: December 30, 2017, 12:12:30 AM
I've used HitBTC and Cryptopia to transfer my mined coins from a wallet to their exchange.  Traded them there and then I send them to Coinbase if I want to buy and hold BTC or cash out in USD.  You'll have to mine the coins you want to trade to begin with though.  If you're trying to convert fiat into crypto on any exhcange, you have to a bank account or credit card.  And when you cash it out into fiat, you'll have to have a bank account to send it to.

thx for your advice.

If you stay away from Gigabyte and the Zotac Mini's, you'll be in better shape in the long run.  I'm running EVGA FTW2's getting 500 sol/s on each card at 110W.
