1183  Economy / Services / Re: ★☆★ Bitvest.io - Plinko Sig. Campaign ★☆★ (JR-Hero Accepted) on: January 10, 2018, 07:49:47 PM
Is there any news about new participants? I have applied two weeks ago and Lutpin (campaign manager) said a week ago that he will announce new participants six days ago. But until now there's no new info...

He is busy, just wait for his response like everyone else  Smiley

Better safe than sorry:

Yep, indeed. Staked for future reference.
And better to stake a verified message as some exchanges for example didn't allow to sign it. Wink

what will happen to the companies producing asics like bitmain?
btw it is a concern for asic mining farms mining bitcoin
i dont think small gpu miners will be affected by this

They will turn to altcoins or in case it is also included then they will change residency, for example Russia? Low cost electricity country or state?.
Gpu mining couldn't be detected easily so it shouldn't be affected easily

GPU or Asics mining consume energy a lot so the government somehow will notice when a neighborhood is consuming additional +KWh more than before (except the small tolerating on the digits).

Indeed, it can be detected especially if the user keeps running it the whole day without installing additional measures (fans, cold place...)
Better in this case to mine low difficulty and profitable coins as short as possible, or the best solution is solar energy  Wink

I just realized I use way too many BTC addresses, but we will try this.

I think you didn't understand the spirit of this topic.
Using many Bitcoin addresses is recommended whenever it is possible (fees fault for example).
For this topic, it is intended to stake one of the bitcoin addresses that you with your Bitcointalk account in order to provide a proof later, in case your account was hacked, that you are the real owner by providing a verified valid message.
1188  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns [Last update: 07-Jan-2018] on: January 09, 2018, 06:47:51 PM
I just saw that fasteners signature campaign is over but still on the list . I suggest to check out and maybe remove of the list coz I saw people still posting their candidature on the campaign . Thanks for taking care of this situation and perhaps help candidates to not waist their time for nothing

Fasteners? Never heard such name before, are you sure it is on the list? Just tried to use Control+F to find it out in this thread but I could not find a matching word with it. Do you mistype it or you are talking about other campaign which is not on the list? The only close/similar name is "fastinvest", is this what you mean?
so sorry it was a mistype of me and yeah I was talking about fastinvest signature campaign . I saw the manager of the campaign Yahoo posting that the campaign is over and participant may remove their Sig but still the campaign on the updated list

I already mentioned that information in my first post in this page.
Just read the above posts to avoid duplicate posts  Wink
1189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Altcoin 2018 on: January 09, 2018, 06:46:03 PM
Cheap token that have potential
Those below 1$ per token

It is hard to presume what coin that costs less than $1 could have a big potential. Most of it will idle in pump and dump with fast profit.
I am looking forward to dogecoin as the coin that didn't get its chance yet but it is also hard to see whether a rise will happens soon or not

1191  Economy / Speculation / Re: Uncertainty in bitcoin market. on: January 09, 2018, 04:16:26 PM
For the pass five days we have been find indecision in bitcoin pricing and I hope this is to  the holders favour!  I have started having a little panic as most of us may have the same feeling and I did not expect bitcoin to fall below $13,000 as this is going to push many to loss.  What happen next?

Even if the bitcoin price will drop under $13,000 the potential of buying is here which will lead the price to increase more up to +$17,000 and even +$20,000 which could be possible in the next months
1192  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price drops because Korean exchange removed by CMC on: January 09, 2018, 03:32:57 PM
in my opinion coinmarketcap.com is not that popular a site that can have such effects, believe it or not. specially not popular enough for you to use it as a short form and call it "CMC"... i bet 90% of the readers here if they saw this out of context of this known news wouldn't have recognized it either.

in any case i don't see any relationship between the two. they have removed big volumes from their calculations in the past multiple times. last biggest one was during the Chinese fake volume season before PBoC came down upon their heads. and nothing was affected by it.

I doubt also about this whole story. For the moment, I see many green colours in coinmarketcap and Bitcoin price doesn't rely on Korean exchanges that much.
1193  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-1-5] Mark Zuckerberg wants to introduce cryptocurrency to facebook on: January 08, 2018, 08:11:39 PM
Zuckerberg also announced that he is interested in studying the positive and negative aspects of this technology and will consider how to implement their potential on Facebook.

Consider means nothing, there is too many news reported about a country or a company "consider" to accept or regulate cryptocurrency but nothing implemented so far.
Don't get me wrong, yes it's a good news if Mark Zuckerberg will adopt cryptocurrency in Facebook, but without any real implementation, we can't expect too much of this news.

Better considering an eventual implementation than neglecting cryptocurrencies.
In case of adoption, cryptocurrencies could increase its values by large.

Would someone be able confirm that activity/ postings is calculated at a max of 14 per two week period? Would this mean to get to a Jnr member level it would be a min of 3 periods assuming you were to meet the max postings per period?

Yes.
Maximum activity = 14 per two weeks
Maximum posts = unlimited (constructive posts without spam to avoid being banned)
The rest is true  Smiley

1198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Currently Mining to Bitcion directly - should I covert to something else? on: January 08, 2018, 08:02:42 AM
Currently I'm mining and converting all my altcoins to bitcoin - I was wondering if I should convert to ZEC or ETH or something else instead of bitcoin?

WHat's your thoughts on what we should be holding?

I was very septic to altcoins in the past but now I regret not buying it. Take a look at ethereum it was ~$30, litecoin barely ~$2-3...etc
For the moment, i feel that I need to have many altcoins assets, I may be wrong but ethereum, bch, dash, monero, zcash, litecoin...is too late to invest in it.
For the moment, it seems that ripple and dogecoin could have a potential of growth. Other pump and dump coins could have a potential but who knows?
1199  Other / Meta / Re: Is there a mobile version of the site? on: January 07, 2018, 11:24:50 PM
I don't see any mobile version /talkpal for the forum. Does it exist?

No need to repeat the same things that already was said but you have two solution : the simple one is to use chrome (or others) and to zoom in and out, you will get used to it after a while. The second is to use UC Browser , he offers somehow a mobile-like version. The main advantage is that it keeps the written text of a reply if you accidentally passed to another page. The main disadvantage is that it is a little bit buggy sometimes...
1200  Other / Meta / Re: Getting Mail from Bitcointalk for PM that doesn't exist on: January 07, 2018, 07:34:34 PM
Today I got a mail from Bitcointalk that I received a PM from a newbie member (twicticciade). When I checked in my Bitcointalk messages, there was no such message. Also, when I clicked the link in mail to reply, it says that PM doesn't exist.
Note: I wasn't able to see the message as body of message isn't there in Email.

What could be the possible reason for this ?

Maybe my comment is a little bit basic but is the email that you received really from bitcointalk.org? I mean maybe it is a phishing attempt with a similar text and a close looking email?
If it is from bitcointalk.org then I think like DooMAD said that it was deleted by staff.
