If you're running it on windows I don't believe I can help in this case as I'm utilizing unix with vanitygen and it's run for me at a command prompt with the command "./oclvanitygen"
Looking over one of my favorite threads and noticed that some people are having issues with 1080ti GPUs and windows. Just create a .bat file and add a couple lines to restart the application if it times out. Hope this helps someone. :restart TIMEOUT 8
ENTER VANITYGEN START INFORMATION HERE
goto :restart

I am pleased to announce we have introduced tear resistant metallic prints for a handful of our Bitcoin artworks!
Many people were hoping for a more affordable option over our metal panel medium.
Do you have any information on the differences between the metallic prints and the metal panels? I assumed the metal panels were metallic prints.

I am here to remind OGnasty and KWH that please remove the red trust or at least make it to neutral as I have proved my innocence here.
I would be open to hearing more opinions on this.

It might be time for theymos to strip him of his developer badge as it is no longer relevant.
He made an effort in the past that should be recognised imo. Stripping a badge from an old developer isn't a good idea, maybe changing it to "old developer" is better. Gavin is officially listed at bitcoin.org as being the developer with the 4th most commits to Bitcoin Core with 1,101. He obviously and most definitely deserves the Developer Badge. https://bitcoin.org/en/development#dev-communities

I figured I'd target education, because the average user on this forum seems woefully under-educated.
I think language barriers, youngsters trying to make a quick buck, and those acting ignorant to suit their agendas are to blame for this perception.

I like the theories outlined in the book Chariots Of The Gods. It’s a quick and thought provoking read.

Are you able to charge the Powerwalls with grid power, or only with Solar generated power? Also, does the Wind turbine plug into the same Inverter as the solar panels?
Due to regulations, at this point in time the Powerwall charges with solar generated power. I am hoping that changes soon. The wind turbine uses it’s own stand-alone inverter, while the solar panels each have their own built in inverters.

Check whattomine.com and see what you should do. Right now with those cards, you'd be almost twice as well off to mine something else and use that to buy RVN.

Pretty sure I own the first one of these knives made, which was featured in a news article and predated the production run of 20 knives. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=941287.msg10340032#msg10340032In any event, a great piece and rare find in good condition. Good luck with the sale. Mine has definitely seen some wear as it is regularly handled. EDIT: ...originally sold for about $200 here on the forum. ...snip... I have been collecting and trading knives for many years and would value it at about $500 max.
This is a pretty common problem in the crypto collection community of trying to value things in BTC over time instead of USD. You get people asking $14,000 for a $500 knife (I'd value it a bit higher but my opinion is biased). Always wise to check the original price paid in USD when buying a previously owned item.

Cool to see some .bit sites around. Good luck with the auction and supporting NMC!

We have about 900 blocks left to go, and when the 420,000th namecoin block is mined then 12.5 NMC per block will be the reward.
Nice. I will celebrate like I did the last bitcoin halvening. Drinking beer watching the block explorer. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Would be great if there were a countdown somewhere.

I’ve sold off the L3+ in preparation for the next generation of miners and sent BTC to the NastyMining holding address.

The crazy part is that some bounty managers have the audacity to claim they're preventing spam... They need higher standards as to whom they allow to participate, but they only care about getting as much money as they can. I believe some go as far as to create scam ICOs using alt accounts just to get people to invest so they have money to pay themselves to run these spam campaigns, act as escrows, and then participate in the campaigns using their alt accounts.
We are seeing a step towards reigning in these members with the introduction of merit and the restriction of lower member levels making it a bit more time consuming for them to continue with these tactics. It is sad that theymos is having to start taking steps to address the issue of paid managers failing to protect the forum from spam, but I think with some more restrictions and eventually the banning of those found to be acting in bad faith with regards to bounty programs, ICOs, and alt accounts, we may see some improvement down the line.
(not limited to "their own thread" in my thinking, but relevant to the underlying problem)
|
|
|
No, theymos should not do that. I have said time and time again that I think restricting the lower level accounts and providing a paid tier of memberships with additional features that can also be earned through merit is the way to go.
There's lots of room between Copper Membership & Donator, and there's lots of features that can be added to various tiered member levels. Avatar, signature, PM limits, forum section access, viewing signatures, and maybe new features such as the ability to block personal messages from users with 0 merit or with negative default trust.
I don't see a need to devalue the member status of those who were supporting this forum with money out of their own pockets 7 years ago, before most people had ever heard of Bitcoin.

While they are both similar in that they have fooled a majority of investors to believe they can deliver on their promises, at least ETH is SOMETHING, where TRON is just a flat out manipulation scam with a lot of funding searching for relevance. So there's that.
Personally, I would run screaming from ETH if I owned any (should have done this when cryptokitties showed it for what it is) and if I ever purchased any TRON I would seriously consider finding a new way to participate in crypto, because I would have been shown to be incredibly naive and susceptible to marketing gimmicks promising me wealth as well as not educated enough in the field to understand things like market cap and real value.
|
|
|
When it comes to low market cap coins with promise, I don't think ANYTHING comes close to Namecoin. I can't wrap my mind around how NMC has a valuation under 20 million dollars while there are so many shitcoins valued 10x-1000x higher. Reminds me of when I saw Bitcoin trading at a 50 million dollar valuation and decided I should probably get involved...

Please follow the very simple instructions if you're going to use my escrow service. If I ignored your message it is likely you didn't provide enough information for an escrow agreement.
Copy the other trading partner on the message.
Include the BTC release/refund addresses for the trade.
Include the amount of BTC that will/has been sent.
I don't care about US dollar amounts and will ignore them. If no release address is provided I will assume you haven't reached an agreement with the seller and will ignore the message. If the other party in the trade isn't copied, I'll assume you aren't serious and will ignore the message.
I get too many vague messages with no information in them and I will be ignoring them going forward. This process is setup to be dead simple for a reason.
