11861  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which cryptos are most used as money / a cash alternative? on: June 11, 2017, 11:28:33 PM
Dash and doge aren't used for much.  I looked for sites that accept Dash one time, and there were only a handful of (non-darknet) places, and none of them offered anything I'd ever want to buy.  Doge is pretty much the same thing.

When crypto gets spent for goods & services, it's mostly bitcoin that gets spent.  Like it or not, crypto is mainly used for speculating.  Especially anything other than btc, ltc, and doge.
11862  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Your Review for POLONIEX.com? SCAM or LEGIT? on: June 11, 2017, 11:05:49 PM
Poloniex has good credibility, if compare with other Exchanger Polo score above average. Polo is the biggest Exchanger now. But there's always a risk any where place we put investment.
Yep, despite the threads on this forum that will complain and tell you otherwise, they're not a scam.  They are a legitimate exchange that functions pretty well.  I have an account there, but I don't do a lot of altcoin trading and thus haven't used them in a while.  But the times I have used them they've been good.

OP, you're right to question this and you should question everything you read and discover in crypto, because things aren't always what they seem to be and there have been (as you no doubt know) several exchanges that have turned out to be scams.  So be careful.
11863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I think I overdiversified... on: June 11, 2017, 10:36:32 PM
You have bitcoin and then a large pile of shit--so you didn't diversify enough.  You ought to keep cash, gold & silver, and stocks as part of your 'diversified portfolio'.  Buying a load of shitcoins isn't really spreading the risk around, which is the goal of diversification.  If the altcoin market crashes, guess what?  They're all going down.
11864  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: RDD Reddcoin on: June 11, 2017, 10:24:51 PM
Thanks for the news mate,
bought a small amount, looking to make a quick buck ^_^'
Yeah, so did you make any money?  This looks like it was just a P&D attempt--which is exactly what I figured it was, with no real potential for long-lasting gains.  Did any of you expect anything different?  RDD is a shitcoin with no innovation and with no advantage over anything else that trades on Yobit.  Told you so.
11865  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this normal and safe to invest in? on: June 11, 2017, 09:39:51 PM
It's not being overlooked, but 1) No one knows when a correction is going to occur, and 2) Predictions should be taken with an extra-large grain of salt.  Nobody knows what's going to happen.  For every person predicting a crash, there are 5 people predicting bitcoin is going to be at $10,000 any day now.  A lot of what gets written is just noise.

I've been saying that we're due for a correction for a while now.  They tend to be healthy.  And it's up to you to figure out whether it's worth putting money in crypto right now.  Nobody is going to decide for you.

Edit: ^^Brother man wrote almost exactly what I wrote, beat me to it.
11866  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium Bitcoin Wallet on: June 11, 2017, 05:13:38 PM
No he's right,  mycelium's fees are ridiculous and not having the option to set them sucks.  It always amazes me that people defend poor design.  If no one complained, shit would never change.
11867  Economy / Speculation / Re: 3000$? when? on: June 11, 2017, 04:34:49 PM
This is gonna happen in a very short time period, maybe within few minutes. The price of bitcoin is just 20$ away from bitcoin to reach $3000 based on the price of few exchanges. So as an user mentioned holding tight and buckle up as we're getting closer to the take off.
That's what I'm thinking,  but there does seem to be a lot of resistance.  In any case, it's around noon where I'm at and I suspect we'll hit $3000 by 5pm or so.  Nutty!  That means more shitposters than ever are going to be dogpiling up in this forum, trying to get into sog campaigns...and fees are going to be higher.
11868  Other / Meta / Re: Sir can I give small donation for rank on: June 11, 2017, 04:07:46 PM
This guy's posts are so shitty that he needs some sort of rank accelerator,  else he's going to get banned long before he ranks up to Sr. Member.  Did you hear that, kindly sir?  I'd tell you to step up your post quality,  but we all know you're unable to do that.
11869  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin to negative thinkers and innocent minds. Prove to them! on: June 11, 2017, 02:31:36 AM
That's a shitpost if I've ever seen one.

Hey friend, do you mean something about on the post you've done earlier? If you don't want to recognise the idea I have here regarding those negative thinkers and innocent minds, then it's not you problem right? So I am opening this topic in order to let others see the reality how people are accepting well on all informations that's coming from educated bitcoin users. If you think am making a shit post here, well thank you for the compliments. I just wanted to be fair and I know most of us who shares bitcoin is not been recognized. How bitcoin economy grows if in the first place ideas on the forum will be neglected.
None of what you wrote makes any sense and wouldn't be interesting even if it did.
11870  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin to negative thinkers and innocent minds. Prove to them! on: June 11, 2017, 01:57:33 AM

11871  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why ETH price Up today? What happened? on: June 11, 2017, 01:30:41 AM
Don't follow ETH, so I wasn't aware of any great rise--I'll take OP's word for it.  I don't think any news items ever cause ETH to pop or drop, because there's never any bullish news that's legitimate.  As stated, this is just the market's forces in action.  Big money is obviously being pumped into bitcoin and a lot of altcoins, and that's what's causing everything to be inflated.  I'm kind of curious to know exactly where this money is coming from, but I don't think that's ever going to be revealed.
11872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Do People Invest Into DOGE? on: June 10, 2017, 09:59:36 PM
It's a good coin and frankly I'd rather own it than bitcoin right now (even though I don't own any currently).  Low fees, quick confirmation times--what's not to love about it?  I'd use it as money over btc any day of the week.   As an investment,  not so much.  It's stable relative to btc, but that's another attribute in its favor.

Besides "It's stable relative to btc", those aren't arguments. You're only argument is negated by the fact that bitcoins instability (lately) is insane growth.
Sure, right now it just happens to be insane growth but it could easily crash.  Low fees and quick confirmations are two good arguments IMO.  It's kind of hard to deny, given how much it costs me to send bitcoin and sometimes I have to wait days for a confirmation.
11873  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or Altcoin? on: June 10, 2017, 08:21:15 PM
Honestly I'd love to switch over to doge or something, to use as money, but trying to find merchants that accept anything besides bitcoin is a fool's errand.  Those merchants just don't exist, and it sucks.  I'm tired of transaction fees and long confirmation times, as are a lot of people.  I'd much rather use fiat to buy stuff anyway, but I do occasionally buy things with crypto.  Eh.  Maybe it'll get better, but right now I'm very pessimistic about BTC.

11875  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dear miners on: June 10, 2017, 06:47:03 PM
Something will give eventually. No large businesses are going to start to transact in a currency with 30+ minute confirmation times and multi-dollar fees. The free market will make a replacement in due time. NEM with Mijin/Catapult would be a good one.

The bigger they are, the longer it will take for them to fall, but make no mistake, they WILL fall in time. The free market naturally corrects market imbalances in time. For now, the miners can enjoy their profits.
Businesses aren't adopting bitcoin anyway.  As for me, I'd much rather spend fiat than bitcoin, mainly because of confirmation times but nowadays because of the fees.  They're way too high.  Why should I pay anything just for the privilege of spending my own money.  Fuck that.  I'm getting tired of bitcoin and this community and I'm starting to realize that bitcoin is an awful solution to a problem that doesn't even exist in the first place.
11876  Economy / Goods / Re: Buy your Tesla now with Bitcoins/Altcoins on: June 10, 2017, 05:09:55 PM
do people really use openbazaar?"everytime i installed it there are problems
Yeah, I never did and I actually thought it failed and that no one used it.  I could have heard wrong.

How much do you think the transaction fee would be buying a tesla?  It costs me near $8 just to spend $60.  Might be a better idea to pay with fiat, no?

If it costs you $8 to send $60 you are doing something wrong.

And it does not really matter how much you spend, the fee does not really increase that much if you send more. May I ask you what kind of wallet you use? $8 just seems so so wrong..
Mycelium, and that's on the low priority option.  There's not a way to go lower than that that I know of.  I didn't end up actually sending that $60 because of the fee--it's just too damn high.  And if I accumulated enough to buy a tesla, it would be from many transactions coming in to my wallet.  I know I'm a complete tech dumbass, but wouldn't that cause the fee to increase?

11878  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think billionaires invest in BTC? on: June 10, 2017, 03:26:39 AM
If they do, it's a small amount.  People with billions of dollars don't make it their life's goal to double that--their goal is to protect all the millions/billions they already have.  And the absolute worst way to protect wealth is to invest in bitcoin.  You guys know damn well how volatile it is.  Imagine having a few million dollars' worth of bitcoin and then watching it drop by 25% or more in a single day.  There's no way some financially-literate rich person is going to invest in bitcoin unless he can hedge his bet.  And I don't know that there's a way to do that.
11879  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: best altcoins to invest for huge gain (before 2018) ? on: June 10, 2017, 01:48:36 AM
None of these will provide HUGE RETURN
There's no way you or anyone else can say this with certainty.

How many threads do we have to dedicate to this topic.  It's like a fucking broken record, repeating over and over and over.  Which altcoin do I invest in?  How about you invest in an English course and learn to get past that ADD and READ.  Less typing, more eyeballing.  All of you halfwits who start these topics:  READ.  You don't have to keep starting multiple threads asking the same thing.  People are just going to give worthless tips anyway!  Do you think if someone knew what the next hot thing is going to be, they'd tell you?  Don't be naive.
11880  Economy / Speculation / Re: [POLL] Will Bitcoin hit $ 500,000 by 2030? on: June 10, 2017, 01:44:24 AM
Stranger things have happened--as I've said in other threads, I did not expect bitcoin to be at $2800 anytime soon.  So half a mill in 13 years?  Yeah, could happen.  Do I think it's going to?  Nah, not really.  I do think we'll be much higher, but $500K is quite high.

The real question for me is whether I'm ever going to actually save any bitcoin.  I have a problem with spending it +/- trading or selling.  I really need to just save my sig campaign earnings.
