11861  Other / Off-topic / Re: 2016, The Year of Bitcoin? on: October 03, 2015, 10:29:25 AM
i think it can rise upto 500 dollars but in a 5 -10 years bitcoin will die due to dollar.

what you mean due to dollar? it's not like dollar will  be anything better in the future, on the contrary it willonly get worse for fiat

bitcoin can only die if the price remain there forever, resultin in miners abandoning the network
11862  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SyriaRelief.org is accepting bitcoin donations. We should help! on: October 03, 2015, 07:27:14 AM
to be honest early adopters should help the most, not us noob with few btc, and i doubt there are early adopter left here

maybe i'll start donating when the price of bitcoin will skyrocket...
11863  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your biggest problem with Bitcoin on: October 03, 2015, 07:24:16 AM
What I'm concerned about is the security of the wallet, I've lost a lot of my bitcoin wallet. I am also worried about the price of BTC were down a lot

if this is because of thief, you need to work mor eon your cold storage, if it's because of your fault, you need to do more backup, simply solutions that cna avoid big problem
11864  Economy / Economics / Re: POLL: Bitcoin Inequality on: October 03, 2015, 07:21:20 AM
if there were no inequality and everyone was an early adopters, can someone really think that there would have been more buyers? or just plain more manipulators?

i'm prone to think the latter, would have been more true
11865  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you consider this as a possible threat to Bitcoin? on: October 03, 2015, 07:10:27 AM
in theory the 4 years waiting between the halving, should be enough to encourage the price to increase and accomodate the profit needed by the miners to stay in the game

if this is not true, we all know how bad this will end, however many miners around 0.05 electricity will remain in the scene even with the next halving

but if by the 2020 halving, we are still in this same situation, no miners/farm will be able to gain profit, and bitcoin will be doomed to die

also it does not really matter where farms are located as long as they mine on different pool and all the equipment do not belongs to a single entity
11866  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Should i start mining? (More info inside) on: October 03, 2015, 06:59:11 AM
i suggest to put the miners in another room, there was a case of a guy that became ill because he was running a small farm where he went to bed

aside from this, with free electricity is better to focus on something that require the lowest investment

but if space is a problem i would still consider density as important, so big miners are an option
11867  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: good places to hide paper wallet ? on: October 03, 2015, 06:54:39 AM
you can hide it directly in the bank in a secure box, and no other one can access aside from you

you're also covered in the case something went wrong
11868  Economy / Economics / Re: Why You Should Never Sell Your Bitcoins Ever on: October 02, 2015, 06:28:50 PM
one thing it's true, if everyone will follow the OP advice, the price can not increase at all, so his statement, based on this, is utterly wrong

the best thing to do if you have a low amount is waiting, leave the big players to play their dirty game

what kind of broken logic is this?

if everyone follows OP advice the price will go through the roof. ever heard of supply & demand?

yes and how? you know that if no one will sell ever, there can not be buyers right? apparently not, so sellers are mandatory and are healthy for the market

and anyway supply and demand mean selling and buying not holding forever...
11869  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much do you think 1 Bitcoin will be worth in 2020? on: October 02, 2015, 12:34:56 PM
I honestly think

jan 2016= 269

jan 2017= 301

jan 2018= 528

jan 2019= 470

jan 2020= 645

dec. 2020= 789

q:
how come i can not vote on the polls?
I am guessing that it is b/c I am a newbie, but curious Smiley

this could be also true with a zero added, but as a stable price is another story

The scary thing is if bitcoin can touch $1,000-$2,000 again then it is entirely in the realm of possibility of seeing a $5,000-$10,000 coin. And again, if it does touch 5k+, it is also very possible and likely that it would reach 10k and beyond.

yeah it's an escalation, when the real pump will start i doubt any cheap price will be the target, last big ath was x12 of the initial price

x12 of what it is now, means 2500-3000 range
11870  Economy / Speculation / Re: What are possible scenarios for the block halving? on: October 02, 2015, 12:33:03 PM
What things could happen with the btc price when the block halving occurs? will the price go down due to miners cashing out? or will the block chain slow down due to miners shutting off their mining equipment? will the price go up because of less daily bitcoin created? what will likely happen?

Miners would have to sell more as the rewards are less to maintain their operations.

not more than what they are selling today anyway, i doubt they are selling less than 1800 coins per day, after the halving at best they can sell that amount

if this is the case, we would get, roughly the same price with the halving, minus the initial hype that will create a relatively strong pump
11871  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you wish you could buy with btc ? on: October 02, 2015, 10:21:10 AM
I sure would love to buy sex for Bitcoins. I don't think that such thing exists, but if it does, please let me know as I've always been a virgin....Anyways, I can dream, can't I?  Roll Eyes

there are indeed escort that accept bitcoin out there you can contact one, it is all in their interest to use something like bitcoin, less trouble than fiat(no need to cash out from your bank) and much more confortable

11872  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The future of bitcoin on: October 02, 2015, 10:04:51 AM
i dont think that btc will live 5 more years.maybe the price will increase but in the end it will collapse.

That's a good joke.
1. Bitcoin will shift to new algorithm if any bug or hack if it's with existing algorithm.
2. Already survived for almost 6 years. Many experts analyzed it's core conceptual for it's existence and need.
3. No government can stop using it.
4. Will live till earth lives or internet lives.

again with this argument it's not really possible or simple as you think it to be, how about all asic miners that can only mine sha256 coin? you think they can afford again to buy 400 peta of hash for another algo....
11873  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are some STRONG use cases for Blockchain tech? on: October 02, 2015, 07:15:55 AM
How do you define STRONG?

that can be useful for the majority or something important

i would add gaming on the blockchain as another one, if extended for competitive game scene and integrated with a bitcoin pay system
11874  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Have you used the blockchain wallet and did it meet your needs? on: October 02, 2015, 07:10:51 AM
There is no such thing as "official bitcoin". Maybe you mean bitcoin core, which is the "reference implementation", but its not official and its not available for phones.

there is a version that resemble very well core, for mobile, it called "bitcoin wallet"

OP i prefer local wallet and i usually avoid web wallet, unless they have insurance, like coinbase... for mobile the best seems what i've mentioned above together with Mycelium
11875  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hello newbie question here, on: October 02, 2015, 07:06:17 AM
signature campaign was actually good 1 month ago, i was doing 2 btc month, so not that poor as many think
now it's another story, not earning a good amount like in the old day
You spend several hours a day reading and posting here. You are the exception and not the norm.

I'm curious what your hourly rate would be, dividing the amount you got from signature campaigns by the total time you spent reading and posting. My guess maybe 1 or 2 dollars an hour at most.

in reality i was only posting for 4 hours at max, yes i'm always online, but this does not mean that i'm always on bitcointalk or in front of my computer, i just like to keep the page on all the day, for a faster interaction

i would like to compare it as a part-time job, 4 hours a day for about $500 month(so about $4 per hour).... well this isn't the case anymore seeing how they have limited the number of post...
11876  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Investing Bitcoin help on: October 02, 2015, 07:00:18 AM
you can invest in mining or in a good pos coin with a good rate, both require a solid high investment to begin with, if you want a decent profit

in the first case i would only use hashnest, bit-x and genesis, but only the first oen has s7 i believe

with pos coin diamond seems okish to earn something, but the investment here is bigger than cloud
11877  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the safest way to store Bitcoins? on: October 02, 2015, 06:58:18 AM
the safest way i found is to have a small amount on a hotwallet as a trap, you can put 0.01, just to know that your desktop is not infected, and a standard usb with the other big amount

if they steal you that tiny amount you know you're ifnected and you go ahead and do a secure erase, it's working great for me
11878  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Did you earn some bitcoin today? on: October 02, 2015, 06:56:06 AM
you should maybe add a pool to see the average earning in bitcoin per day among all users on bitcointalk, it would be interesting

maybe another different thread about the matter
