With special thanks to Stephen and paybitcoin (125 & 126 on the list), we currently only need 5 more people to pledge their support. When pledging, there is no need to send any bitcoins, for some people may have reservations of the current non-profit that has graciously started accepting Bitcoin as a donation option because of Bitcoin 100 and, moreover, BitPay's efforts, with the dialog initiated by jsmithers.

(Von NotHaus) ... was also convicted of violating 18 USC § 486 - Uttering coins of gold, silver or other metal: Whoever ... makes ... any coins of gold or silver or other metal, ... intended for use as current money, whether in the resemblance of coins of the United States or of foreign countries, or of original design, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both.
This could definitely be applied to Casascius coins. The prosecutor just has to convince the jury that they are intended to be used as currency. Mike, I understand that law is stupid, but I would like to know that you are aware of this and to hear your opinion. Thank you. Is metal the key word here?

Okay! Which one of the retard mods deleted my post that showed where the cunt lived so that this doesn't happen to anybody else? Is this forum in China? BRB, for I'm goin' to hunt the image of that bitch, the one with the butterfly (or was it a dung beetle?) on her ass.
~Cackling Bear~
Quick aside: I've been a dung beetle kick ever since I viewed that TED Talk. (sorry for not providing a link, but it'll be easy to find)
This post bought to you by the Good Humor side of my brand.

Add mine as well :3 The only problem is that atm I'm working, so I can't upload it anywhere. I was thinking of add a BTC logo in his hand, but looks like you would be more a coin for the size.
No need to upload it unless you're planning on enhancing it, for I'll just snatch the avatar's URL. Let me know if you change it, and thanks for the submission. ~Bruno K~

I'm surprised the following wasn't touched upon: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Orlin_GrabbeThe End of Ordinary Money
In 1995, Grabbe moved to Reno, Nevada. In May of that year, he published the second part of a two-part essay, "The End of Ordinary Money" on the Internet. The first part of this essay had been written in 1987. In July 1995, the article was printed in Liberty magazine. With the publication of a second article, "Digital Cash and the Future of Money", Orlin Grabbe had established a path towards Digital Finance. Excellent thesis, BTW!

Actually, they haven't been paid yet as far as I know.
They have been promised that when BFL's products are ready, then they will receive one for free.
The contest is for an FPGA single. There was some question a while back whether the winners had received their hardware, to which Josh stated "they have all been shipped". I imaging there would have been more said about it if ppl had not actually received it. I don't really like the contest either. Unfortunately if called out, BFL can truthfully say "but our competition does it too!" But somebody set the standard. At one time in Tunica, everybody had to pay for mixed drinks while sitting at the bar, until Sam's Town was the first to change policy, whereupon all the other casinos had to follow suit or face lower attendance. Damn, I miss poker life sometimes. Free rooms, free food, horny waitresses, southern hospitality... Did I mention horny waitresses?

P.S Whenever you see Inaba/Josh attempt to bash other vendors for minor slips, keep in mind his own vendor has oil spills the size of Kansas.
That lame attempt to portray other vendors in a negative light just needed a few tweaks to make it a mirror for BFL's own lack luster performance.
You can't shouldn't throw a rock in a glass house I think the saying goes. Fixed. Good posts. Hypothetical: If you are already covered in sh1t and your competition isn't, then you potentially benefit by starting a manure fight. Not only that, but the ammo needs protecting because the enemy may revert to steeling so that they'll have volleys of their own. Bonus Toon:

I did not, although I was awarded a scholarship to MIT (not a joke) but didn't know of it until over two years later when I met my former math teacher in line at a Ben Franklin's (department store). She informed me that my parents, namely my dad, strictly informed the powers that be at the school that I was not going to college nor was I to be made aware of the scholarship's existence. The bottom line was that it would affect the bottom line of the household with five other siblings to tend to. He told them that I would enter the workforce as he did, working at a factory till retirement.
My SAT scores where 800/720 reflecting a perfect math score, and I aced the ASVAB test without studying (not available at that time I don't think) to enter the Navy. I'm one of the few that never served on a boat ship, for they had other plans for me.
In retrospect, I don't think I would have done well in college, mainly due to not being mentally prepared for the workload, although I was the nerd in HS who commonly carried ten books to each class through a maze of anti-nerds whose goal was to knock the books out of my hands. It's acts like that, I believe, that are prerequisites for some who become police officers.
