11901  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin $318K by December 2021 on: December 25, 2020, 03:44:56 PM
So we are at 24k x 18 mill is a value of 400 billion plus for BTC.

so world investment wealth is around 100trillion this mean btc has 0.4% of the worlds investment wealth.

To make prediction of 318k a coin we move up to a cap of 318k x 18 mill or around six trillion.

That means 6% or 5% of the worlds investment wealth ends up in BTC by Dec 31 2021.

Can it happen yes it can.

Will it happen how do I know? I don’t.

The most encouraging news of 2020 is that Norway my grandma’s birthplace has decided to put Btc in its investment setup for pensions.  Every Norway citizen now has 2 usd worth of btc.

I think it has risen to 2.40 since they did it.

Europe has 450 million people if the Euro union put 20 usd worth of BTC it would be a nine billion investment. Moves like this if done could make BTC huge.

If I remove one of the fans or both, the hash rate drops (1 - 2Mh/s) because the memory gets hot, this is why these fans are there as shown in that picture.

Current speed of the card.

yeah i do this with my three 3080 gpus

It is pretty easy to see that hidden asics are driving the diff up for eth.

Ah I need to buy 5k worth of mining gear by dec 31 to help lower my taxes.
11905  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Breaking: $600 Stimulus checks deal in the US on: December 25, 2020, 01:59:59 PM
Nice thread.  I was thinking about Andy Yang wanting to give every adult American 1000 a month as base income.

I was thinking that this year millions of Americans got 2400 or 3000 a month in unemployment checks.

Then it was dropped to 1200 or 1500 a month. So Andy Yang was not that far off with his idea.

As for forcing people back to work.

Worst death year ever was or is 2020 3.2 million died of any cause.

Next worst was 2019 with 2.8 million.

So looks like covid-19 took out an extra 400,000 people.

The vaccine is around the corner.

So I am thinking unemployment back up to 450 from 4 months.  A 2,000 check for all adults with a small income now and in 2 months.

The nation goes back to normal May or June.

Capitalism is not a good plan for pandemics.

It relies on churning money to skim off a profit.

i.e.  your restaurant churns 3 million a year.  you the owner makes 300k.

You pay 100k in taxes
You spend 100k to live.
You save 100k to retire

Pandemic comes you try to carry that restaurant and burn 2 million in saves all your fund for retirement.

Keep it open
keep it open

you add to the 400k extra deaths.

Reality the right choice for above if you had 2 million in savings was to close it and retire early.

I know multiple successful restaurant people that had the choice above.  Some bailed asap others stuck it out. Every one that has tried to keep going regrets what they did.

I don’t like being pushed into one style of gear ⚙️ is it  an asic or non asic.

The choices are pretty stark.
11909  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Would Trump Go Overseas To Avoid Prision? Where? Yes/No? Poll! :) on: December 25, 2020, 04:06:59 AM
First off he is going to either become Americas first dictator or run to Russia.

A pardon is worthless since pardons only deal with federal crimes.

New York state will charge him for tax crimes against new york state laws.

So unless he becomes a dictator he will leave and go back russia
11910  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Introduces the S19 and S19 Pro on: December 25, 2020, 03:52:43 AM
even though I have purchased more than 150k in gear from them I am a nobody to them.

I have three choices wait til aug for two or three s19s
Buy some shit gear but for bitcoin  on ebay get it in under 10 days.

Or buy new gear other then asics mine and convert.

I have 300kwatts to burn and I burn only 110 of them.

I just set up Five non asics put into my friends office.

I will setup 2 non asics put them in the solar array.

and possibly use nine non asics ordered from alibaba.

I need to spend 5k on gear from now till dec 31 for tax purposes.

11912  Economy / Economics / Re: The volatility in the price of a bitcoin is falling over time on: December 25, 2020, 03:34:22 AM
It seems logical. The higher the market cap, the lower the volatility, because it takes a lot more money to vary the price. And in the future there will be even less volatility, as the price increases.

Yes this is exactly it.  The wealth  of the worlds investments is whatever.

Let us say 100 trillion
the wealth of Btc is now 400 billion

So more money is needed to shift it.

I remember prices as low as 6 dollars it is now 24,000 or 4,000 times bigger.

There is no way 24,000 x 4,000 = 96,000,000 a coin is going to happen from 2020 to 2028.

this would move the market cap from 400 billion to

160 trillion. since the worlds investment income is around 100 trillion now.

We are not going to grow to 160 trillion in eight years.

but I could see  10x to 4 trillion.

and the worlds wealth growing to 110 or 120 trillion by 2028.

At op very nice work.
11913  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin gave a 230% returns in 2020: will the rally continue? on: December 25, 2020, 03:20:30 AM
you bought one Bitcoin in 2013 and hold it, you would have made $23000 by now. The world’s most sought-after cryptocurrency has already given more than 200% return this year. Now what we see is that a big dip or will this rally continue in 2021?

so what day do you pick to get that number?

march it went to 3900

it is now close to 23400 that is not 200% or 230%.

that is six fold about 500% jump.

Now go pick the worst day dec 2017 17

19.9k so it moved to 23.4 about 20% jump.

So to me we are up from 19.9 to 23.4 which is okay and it took three years to do so.

Plus you needed steel balls to hold when it dropped to 3900 march 2020.

Get back when it tops 30k or more.
11914  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you think COVID19 is a scam? on: December 25, 2020, 03:00:07 AM
Back in July, the CDC stopped their standard collecting of data on flu and pneumonia. Why? They said that there was so little flu and pneumonia that it wasn't practical to keep on collecting the data. Of course, Covid had sky-rocketed, exactly at the same time. Do you think that the medical might have simply rewritten the symptoms, so that the new symptoms said "Covid," but didn't include flu and pneumonia?

Of course, doing this is becoming more and more difficult. There are too many doctors and nurses these days, who would recognize such a change. So, the CDC lumped them all together under the heading of "Covid/Flu/Pneumonia..." with the instruction to call it "Covid." Check it out. It's right in their literature for the doctors and nurses.

This isn't the first time the medical did something like this. Back in the 1950s, polio was a big problem. Dr. Jonas Salk came out with his famous polio medicine. It was a flop, and most people acknowledge this, now. Then, Sabin came out with his vaccine. It was proving to be a flop as well, so the medical saved themselves by re-defining the symptoms of polio.

In 1961, suddenly there were hardly any cases of polio. Polio had been cured. Salk? Sabin? Whatever! The medical had cured polio. Few people noticed that incidents of spinal meningitis sky-rocked. The medical was careful to keep SM quiet in the news.

If you look close, what you will find is that the symptoms of Covid are the same as symptoms would be in someone who got sick with the flu plus a touch of pneumonia, or pneumonia plus a touch of the flu.

The medical wants more money. And they are screwing us and governments out of $billions ($trillions?) to get it. The people can give us their money through government taxation.

Cool

Shut up.

Last year 2.8 million died in USA
This year 3.2 million will die in USA

the worst year in USA history.

Today 11 months and three weeks to the day my wife caught covid we got fith set of lung scans for her.

Her lungs are less fucked but still fucked up. More treatment is scheduled for her.

Do me a favor and instead of saying bla bla bla. when it comes to covid-19 say a prayer to Jesus for my wife and the tens of thousands of other people that are still suffering from the damage this illness has caused them.

It is not fake and we did not have an extra 400,000 flu deaths.

I find the 10 days  in a row all making the top ten very cool.

With luck we can stretch this a lot further.

Bitmain website just updated next available delivery dates to August.
Id love to grab one, but I don't like the idea of paying now, and waiting 8 months for delivery.
(Although I could reduce my 2020 tax liability by buying now)

I am considering getting a few.

Or some more gear before New Years eve.
11918  Economy / Speculation / Re: Christmas 🌲 Bear 🐻 Already Started Munching! on: December 24, 2020, 09:32:27 PM
All the signs of the Christmas 🌲 bear has been shown.

That very bear has already started clapping down on the market.

and btc has bounced back over 23,400 from 21,900

eth bounced back from 551 to 607

Most people running around think this is a bull market don know what bull markets are.

they are looking at the 3900 last march and seeing 23400 now and scream bull bull bull.

BTC has reaching correct levels of pricing which should be in the 21-24 range.

Eth is almost at correct price which should be about 750-800 range.

to be bear or talk bear at this point in time is bullshit Grin

If we get over 28k this year we will be in the true bull run territory.

we were 19.9 dec of 2017
we are 23.4 dec of 2020  about 18% over 3 years

the dow was 24.7 dec 1 2017
the dow is 30.1 dec 24 2020  about 22% over 3 years.

These gains are not that much for a true bull run.

So I am not particularly concerned about you bear guesses.

If we zip on by 30k fast maybe we drop hard then.
11919  Economy / Speculation / Re: How Degenerate is it buying and sitting on PayPal Bitcoin ? on: December 24, 2020, 09:18:50 PM
to not buy it when you legally can simply means you do not want btc to be mainstream.

I want it to go mainstream and I want to buy it, but why should I use paypal to do it when there are easier, faster, cheaper ways?

I don't have a paypal account. I don't have a USD bank account. I don't live in the US. I know that PayPal's fees are ridiculous when it comes to foreign currency transfers and such.

I don't trust PayPal, I don't want my name to go to some tax agency with a label "owns bitcoins".

I value my privacy, therefore I will not be buying through paypal, which doesn't mean I will not be buying at all.

Well it is not for you.

But if you want to mainstream btc you need to use real companies.

Exchanges are not mainstream.
Paypal is mainstream.

So what is mainstream in your country?
You need to realize that in order for mainstream acceptance it is going to be tax reportable if your country charges taxes.

to quote you "...I don't want my name to go to some tax agency with a label "owns bitcoins". "

All mainstream in almost all countries will involve taxes.

So I am just saying most people in bitcointalk miss out on what mainstream is if they think it won't be taxable.

In my country USA both coinbase and PayPal will report my holdings to the IRS.  I will pay the tax and do my accounting correctly.

I did not ask "to be born in the USA"

My birthplace was decided with out my consent. At my older age of 63 I am not going to move out of USA. So for me to correctly support BTC I pay taxes.

Anyone in my position already playing the game legally that can buy PayPal BTC legally should.

Not that they need to buy a lot just some.  Hell PayPal just gave 25 dollars to buy 100 usd worth of BTC and I did.
11920  Economy / Speculation / Re: How degenerate is it buying and sitting on PayPal Bitcoin ? on: December 24, 2020, 06:09:48 PM
..
Anyway, what are your thoughts on buying PPBTC ? I believe it's fully degenerate, mostly due to the fact you cannot transfer PPBTC out to your own custody.
..

Yep, I would agree than buying PPBTC for than just fun isn't the smartest option around. I found the PPBTC as a way for PayPal to monetize over the hype without risking anything. PPBTC is similar to CFD - not the real deal.

Oh yeah I tossed a few hundred into it so far

I think 380 usd which is now worth about 530 and a 25 dollar voucher to use with any PayPal purchase.

By Jan 1 2022 I will have put in around 500usd maybe 600usd
