I think if there was two ports and each varied work slightly you would find miners themselves would switch to whichever gave the fastest hash without a need to manage further on your end
11923  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: August 01, 2013, 04:50:57 PM
You should make the difficulty 2048 since it has no affect on profit Cheesy

Ironically that might help level the playing field     Set it to diff 10k

I got 3 pools on rotate, fast coin with diff 16 has raised accepted shares by 100 just since I started typing this.
LTC is on diff 32 switched to 128  and in a few mins its done +13 shares.
Middlecoin is 512 diff of course and in 5 minutes, it raises accepted shares by 1 share.  That's it, near to a complete failure

[set cgwatcher to restart miner if theres no accepted shares, which will also take it to another pool till some time later]
11924  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TERRACOIN ATTACK OVER 1.2TH ATTACK CONFIRMD on: August 01, 2013, 03:03:39 AM
...but for what purpose would they need the coins if they wanted it dead?

My point exactly, they don't want it dead.

Keep in mind this is all just tin foil hat speculation

What makes this cpu only that is not true of any other coin.  Surely its just a matter of time

I did a reboot, just a quick look now and its showing 77% efficiency which is relatively good and Im in EU
22.6m coin diff ? I think I prefer the harder ones as they don't solve faster then my ping

and just now 165k diff which means the cg screen fills with new block detected and efficiency is dropping as I type.   Think I'll log off  Embarrassed
11928  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: July 28, 2013, 08:59:55 AM
What period of time will that wastage mostly affect the score, looks like the hours just previous to your post but also mixed over several days

My miner is still not able to keep up.  cgwatcher says 8% efficiency, Ive gone elsewhere now and its up to 77% in 50 mins
11929  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BitMinter.com * Optional Custom Miner, PPLNS, Merged mining, Newbie-Friendly! * on: July 27, 2013, 12:46:38 PM
Rova it wont be worth the effort doing.  Powerful for a sound card but not for dealing with 256 bit encryption.   Maybe a penny or two a day, what makes you think otherwise
11930  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: July 27, 2013, 01:59:24 AM
If I put CG on load balance it skips middlecoin mostly.  I get about 10% rejects, I think the fastest coins leave it doing nothing much

Less then 1 share a minute, is really bad?
11931  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NovaCoin - Balthazar's PPC + scrypt fork, pool list on: July 27, 2013, 12:12:21 AM
Found PPS 3.7% Novacoin pool: https://hynodeva.com/
Payouts every half hour, seems fair and no problems so far.

Could be best for new/small miners

Is there a lending website for NVC or place that pays savers
11932  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BTC guild PPLNS last 4-5 shifts = 0 blocks on: July 26, 2013, 11:16:25 PM
It can only add a block if one is found in that time.  None were found from 9am onwards looks like.

That's pretty awful but with BTC diff going so high don't be that surprised.   we had 17 hours to find a block on slush pool the other day I think it was.   It always relys on hash power of the pool and luck.
switch your worker to pps and you can know every day ahead of time what payment you get

ie. its totally normal

Whats the solo time to find a block now, I think worst case must be 50 years. Even the guild big as it is, can take more then several hours apparently.  That's just how they designed BTC to be, for security I guess
11933  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: fastcoin pool on: July 26, 2013, 10:52:15 PM
Ok mining.
I have 7950 also, are you on 1.25 volts with those clocks, watercooled maybe ?
11934  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Questions about slushs pool? on: July 26, 2013, 08:53:08 PM
Ive used both.  Slush would not be a complaint had you got lucky, sounds like you did not.   Its possible to submit hundreds of shares and get zero and that is an open secret :p

You need to be there when the block is solved even if that takes half a day and maybe you get a payout but really it helps to be well over 1gh processing.  Guild on the other hand will pay something for any share at any time even if you log off, much easier to see but it can pay less then slush so its personal preference
11935  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [12000 GH/s] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + UserDiff; ASIC tested on: July 26, 2013, 08:48:05 PM
That'd be on par with a BFL chip so probably about right presuming they saturate the market
11936  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: July 26, 2013, 02:40:19 AM

Just keeps telling me there is a new block before I can submit anything.  Would that be the problem people are talking about

My ping is 182ms and my hash rate is between 500-700 kh

If the pool gets too big I would think the answer is to mine two or three best coins at once.  Maybe that helps the slower people get a look in ?
11937  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TERRACOIN ATTACK OVER 1.2TH ATTACK CONFIRMD on: July 26, 2013, 01:21:16 AM
Some good comments on this thread, should archive it for future reference since new coins are so common
11938  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TERRACOIN ATTACK OVER 1.2TH ATTACK CONFIRMD on: July 25, 2013, 03:54:31 AM
The main factor seems to its relation to Bitcoin and its standing armies of asic.  So maybe it has to become more similar in its defense by raising difficulty in time
11939  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: July 24, 2013, 09:19:13 PM
3% rejected right this moment

I don't think 80c does any harm, its voltage which damages.
