Going with the legendary no-draw strategy for the last try in MM. And loads of away wins Grin

@tyK I am expecting some appropriate stats to end our story here Smiley

For sure I will work something out, to express our old friend MM, our thread and all the users due respect Smiley

I'm also sad to see it go, I don't see Sportsbet losing money on it TBH.

We never got information about number of participants, but I think they do not make any profit with MM. It would need 1500 participants (3000 before reduction) to go breakeven. I doubt they have that number. Still it's a promo and these don't always need to generate profits, but if they don't work out in the bigger picture, i.e. getting more people to play longterm, then it makes sense to abandon it from a business point of view.
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Blockchain Games - flawed? on: February 26, 2021, 08:55:48 AM
But if the game is complicated (unlike dice), the chance is it's only partially on-chain.

This game is running completely serverless and decentralized on the blockchain and it's quite complicated Wink With a customized blockchain made for gaming like Xaya has, this is doable and was already proven back in 2014 with Huntercoin by the same guys.

Don't blockchain games still use centralized servers to run the actual game code itself?

They do, yes. Thats why technically they are no blockchain games, but just games with blockchain elements implemented and using buzz words. The devs are still able to do all sorts of shady stuff and dilute your assets.

For a game to truly be a blockchain game and decentralized then the game source code itself (not just the game data) would have to be stored on the blockchain, open source, and unalterable so that such centralized actions cannot occur and anyone can host it.

So is it already decentralized servers?

Xaya is exactly doing this and they are the only ones afaik. They have one game in beta now (Taurion is between alpha and beta rn) and everyone is free to check it out and play: https://soccermanagerelite.com/. Like all games they build, SME is trustless, permissionless, censorship resistant, transparent, provably fair, autonomous, unstoppable etc. And play-to-earn of course Wink
123  Economy / Reputation / Re: Sportsbooks - Industry Standards, our importance and inflated sense of authority on: February 26, 2021, 12:33:49 AM
First of all I would distinguish between the different bookie types, i.e. fiat, crypto, hybrid. The more "unregulated" you go, the more likely you are to run into (unjustified) trouble. Why ? Because KYC is the key. If you have nothing to hide and play fair, you will never have any problems in your traditional fiat bookie, because they will KYC you no matter what and after that is completed, they really don't have any strong arguments no more. Same with traditional fiat bookies that added crypto deposit/withdrawal option in the last years. The good bookies will KYC you shortly after registration, I would even recommend to do KYC voluntarily after opening an account.

The crypto books and hybrid books (you deposit crypto, but bet with fiat) don't have a mandatory KYC and that is where all these problems stem from. It's very easy to make multiple accounts and there is a good possibility you don't get caught. This is very attractive for certain people, with a good risk-reward ratio - there is generally more suspicion involved for all accounts/users because of this.

Now the crypto/hybrid books could just say, ok lets make KYC mandatory and we are good. But this doesn't work since it's a) against what crypto stands for and b) they would erase their only USP and lose market shares or not even get them in first place.

There are loads of abusers, cheaters and whatever in this space, so bookies and their fraud departments have no easy job tbh. I believe 90% of scam accusations against somewhat established books are actually just hot air from sore losers or people who were caught abusing and seek for some revenge. The problem is really the other 10%, who suffer under this, get bullied around and have no lobby/help/protection - sometimes even having trouble to get their fairly won money after having completed KYC.

Another issue is that some crypto bookies are really poorly run and there are smart/experienced people taking advantage of this. I started a discussion about something similar last year (The Art of Exploiting vs the Bad Habit of Scamming), where there were very different opinions about whether bookies should just take certain things on the chin and move on. But in the end you often have a user, who thinks he has done nothing wrong (just being smart), while the bookies don't want to take responsibility for their mistake. Who wins ? The bookie; leading to scam accusations, KYC, IP checks and what else. Who is right ? I don't know.

Deposits
- Amounts deposited (less any previous withdrawals) are returned to a "customer" who has been found in violation of TOS.

This is the common practice, but a lot of it is goodwill, to prevent any negative talks and keep a good image. It depends on how severe the violation was, but I personally would be fine, if I didn't get my initial deposit back, if I was willingly and knowingly trying to cheat/abuse a bookie.

Deposits
(...)
- Usually subject to certain requirements before being released for withdrawal - AML

This is fine, but everything more than 1x rollover is not acceptable imo.

Deposits
(...)
- Conversion rate should be known at time of deposit, if converted to FIAT on site

Not sure about this. I personally like, when I tell the bookie how much value in fiat I want to deposit and they then tell me: "Send X.XXXX BTC to this BTC address". Then I will get exactly the fiat value I wanted to deposit.
When I just send crypto to a bookie and let them convert it to fiat afterwards, I have to live with things not being 100% exact. But this shouldn't be a one-way street, where the bookies only ever convert to their advantage (which is hard to track in the end....).

Withdrawals
- Don't be surprised if your no KYC site asks for KYC documents at this stage. The vast majority of these cases have to do with prize size, withdrawal amount and/or timing in relation to deposits. Some times this is KYC as you have been flagged for possible TOS violations. The other side is it can be the beginning of an exit scam and/or selective scamming.

The bolded part is very important and here I blame the bookies for playing unfair. You lose, lose, lose and never get KYCed, you get a bit more lucky and make a small withdrawal, still no KYC. You get very lucky at some point and want to make a bigger withdrawal, suddenly there is KYC and the bullying starts.

I heard stories of users not getting paid, because they were geo-restricted and thus not allowed to play on that site. Their winnings were nullified and deposit was returned. Never ever did I hear about it the other way round, where a user got his lost money back, because he wasn't allowed to play there. They use double standards to their advantage.

Same with other TOS violations. As long as you lose your money, you can violate the TOS at will. You bring them money, so TOS don't matter, until they suddenly matter mysteriously.

Account Investigation
- If they ask for KYC, you have no choice but to provide it.

Yep, thats their most powerful tool. A completed KYC doesn't guarantee you your money though, there are other tools Wink

Account Investigation
(...)
- I don't know the threshold for being flagged. If flagged for investigation BTCT can't do anything to change that. You still have to comply with their requests.

I still think it's a good thing that people can come here and talk directly to bookies representatives; maybe getting support from other members and having kind of objective investigations. It's really hard to fight against unjustified accusations alone and there are few places (if any), where you get help and support.
Bookies are really sitting tight on their money, despite earning good amounts of it. And this is not only meant in a bad way, because your funds are safer in these places with a good risk & fraud department Wink
124  Economy / Reputation / Re: User SmokerFace - Recycling posts for sig campaign, new way of cheating ? on: February 25, 2021, 12:19:34 PM
It could be that moderators deleted some of his posts (...)

It would be a huge coincidence, if the mods always delete a good amount of his posts week after week Grin And while they are surely shitposts, they are not the worst shitposts I have ever read, so no reason for the mods to be super strict just with this user.

Tbh I find this super cheeky, even worse than the worst shitposting ever to get paid some bucks from a signature campaign. Because some shitposters might not be bad people afterall or trying to earn easy money with minimalistic efforts - maybe they can't do any better for various reasons and are just looking to support their family/kids with it. But what SmokerFace does, is just plain cheating imo.

Not the first time I've seen a user do this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5283810.0

Thanks, I wasn't aware of this thread and looks like this is no cutting edge technique no more in here^^

I read this post today and thought, hmm, I already read this post once in this thread, so was thinking about plagiarism:

I never faced any issues, and it's perfect in terms of betting. There's a lot of fun of your choice; the remarkable thing is they don't apply a fee for withdrawals, and they're fast compare to the other bets sites. The only thing I dislike is charging a high phone bill when you call customer support with a Canadian phone. Had a pleasant little surprise on my phone bill.

archived

But it's not plagiarism. What this user actually does is to delete his old posts in a thread and then reposting them some days later to get paid again for them. Basically the same post was made on February 10th already, but was deleted (by him (?)):

Quote
Thanks for the tutorial; for me, all the British bookies are the best. I also consider skybet, which is best in gambling games. I never face any issues, and it's perfect in terms of betting. I checked the post history of this user and just today he made 15 posts in 6:46 minutes, amazing Grin

I randomly checked another post and here is what I got:

This post he made as well today:

Bitcoin can not end any currency, since bitcoin is as yet very little famous among us. Half of the world doesn't know what actually bitcoins is and those who know about bitcoin accuse it of a scam. Also, how would we purchase bitcoin if the cash gets end?. We won't be able to exchange. For me, dollars or any cash ought not to end. It might make a few issues and hurt the bitcoin itself as well.

Good work @vennali

Since Fairlay made the list, you should consider adding Exbet as well: Exbet is LIVE >> The Bitcoin Betting Exchange [exbet.io]. They don't have lots of fancy things going on for the casual gambler, but are on a good way with their betting exchange.

Nice list OP, thanks for your effort, I hope you'll be able to make this thread updated if there are major changes on a certain sites, this is not the only list I found in the forum but I'll always go with the most updated ones.

Thats a problem with these lists. Unless they are pinned to the top and/or regularly updated - which is kind of hard, because new bookies don't pop up on a daily basis - they will sooner or later vanish from the first few pages of gambling board.
127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Discussion & Betting] Eurovision Song Contest 2021 on: February 22, 2021, 10:22:49 AM
Weekend update, things are shaping up a bit:

Ireland has announced their song name "Maps", but not the song itself yet.

Norway is traditionally doing very good in ESC and they will send TIX with the song Fallen Angel: TIX - Fallen Angel - Norway 🇳🇴 - National Final Performance - Eurovision 2021. The performance looks all in all in a bit weird, but should suit what the audience/viewers like to see in ESC. The song is ok, a bit lame maybe and Norway is around@ 40 to win ESC.

Czech Republic is trying their luck with Benny Cristo and a song called Omaga: Benny Cristo - omaga - Czech Republic 🇨🇿 - Official Music Video - Eurovision 2021. This is some hot garbage imo, even the video Grin Odds are ~@500 for winning, I doubt they will make the final, since they are traditionally not very good in ESC.

Finland has a very unique/unusual entry with Blind Channel and the Dark Side: Blind Channel - Dark Side (Live) // UMK21. Reminds a bit of Lordy with the style and I loved Lordy and also think this song has some potential to finish high. Odds dropped quite a lot and Finland is among the favourites for now with @17.

Spain has revealed their song Voy a quedarme: Blas Cantó - "Voy a quedarme" (Destino Eurovisión) 🇪🇸 SPAIN 2021. If you have a non-english song, it has to be very good to make some noise and I don't see it here. That guy has a very annoying voice for me somehow Grin

UK will send James Newman, but the song will only be announced in March.

The results for week 7:

Good finish by a lot of guys today and Inagame and GbitG win our forum competition. 10 correct picks is a pretty solid result, but the overall winners will have 12 I guess.

The 2021 stats:

Inagame and GbitG get 50 fame points each, congratulations Smiley While for GbitG this is the first win, Inagame won in week 4 already and that makes him the new leader (if the tie-breaker is total wins) and only user winning twice this year.
rdbase was in danger of setting a new personal negative score, but ManU saved him - his average fell below 6 though.

See you next week Smiley
129  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: February 20, 2021, 11:43:46 PM
The results after 10/15 matches played:

mitchr4, Inagame, GbitG and me lead the pack, but looks like there are just some fame points to grab this week. rdbase with a nightmare of a MM, but we are all not doing very well tbh looking at the average. Looking at the SB leaderboard, we can all enjoy a relaxed Sunday without nail biting at least Grin

Also I want to mention the amount of upsets that happened today is unbelievable (mostly between teams in the upper ranks).

Not sure, if you meant the results in general in football today or the MM results, because I actually don't think there were that many upsets and the two leaders now must have picked the favs mainly.

Wolves/Fulham/Betis/Valencia/Dortmund/Stuttgart were fav, not all huge favs, but makes it 6 already.
Gladbach lost being big fav and Elche won as home dog ~@4.
And then you have those two X's between two poor teams each, where in FRA1 you often have low-scoring games (X more likely) and Burnley/WBA scoring less than 1 goal on average.

So as so often, it looks easy afterwards, but hard to get it right. And SB is selecting way more close games nowadays than in the past, where really no one can tell how this will end - not even the players themselves, so how should we know Grin That is also the reason, why I think that the 1.5BTC will not be won in the foreseeable future.

All tallied, between its 2014 launch on Poloniex and March 5th, 2019, players raked in an astounding $1,282,417!

In Huntercoin, 9 out of 10 coins were collected by players every block until Feb 2018 of which it was then halved to 4.5 coins per block of 5 coins.

Huntercoin legacy

I have never played at any Asian bookies. Which of them are good?

Well, they are a bit different to access than your normal bookie nowadays, i.e. the only possibility for the majority of gamblers is via an agent. You can then either make a single account with these bookies, or use some tool the agent provides. Here is some information about it, if you are interested (I am not getting anything for this): https://betinasia.com/black/

This is all fiat-based, though you can deposit with crypto. And KYC is needed at the agent, so it has its disadvantages as well.

Dafabet is an asian bookie, which you can access without an agent: https://www.dafabet.com/en

All in all, this is really for the more advanced and/or high-staking bettors; for most casual/recreational ones, it's probably not worth the effort and the sometimes inconvenience of having a middle-man. And by inconvenience I don't mean your money not being safe, but rather that everything is done via the agent (deposits/withdrawals/communication in case of dispute etc.) - can be weary.
132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: February 19, 2021, 07:33:20 PM
Here are my picks:

Wolverhampton Wanderers FC - Leeds United 1
Real Betis Balompie - Getafe FC 1
AS Saint-Etienne - Stade Reims X
Elche CF - SD Eibar 2
Borussia Monchengladbach - FSV Mainz 2
FC Cologne - VfB Stuttgart 2
Burnley FC - West Bromwich Albion 1
Schalke 04 - Borussia Dortmund 1
Valencia CF - RC Celta de Vigo 1
Fulham FC - Sheffield United FC 2
AC Milan - Inter Milano 2
Aston Villa FC - Leicester City FC 2
Real Sociedad - Deportivo Alaves 2
Atalanta BC - SSC Napoli X
Manchester United FC - Newcastle 1

All I want for this MM is to get both Friday picks correct, because this something that is really annoying me Grin I can go 0-13 afterwards, no problem.

Screenshot (some things are a little cut off, but anyway).

And here are the picks full of hopes for every participant:

Welcome to the MM family @igehhh Smiley

Public table

We had no full consensus picks before I made my picks and I was so brave to fill three uncovered results (Mainz, Schalke, Alaves) and so only the draw in Manchester remains as uncovered, which I didn't like to cover too (watch out for a draw in that one, 0-0 maybe^^). ManU is the pick with the most consensus, followed by Gladbach, Betis, Dortmund and Real Sociedad. Recently a lot of users like to pick more X's and we have a relatively whopping 24% again - away wins have just a bit more with 25%.

I found nearly all these games super hard to predict, but wishing everybody good luck as always, someone has to win it Smiley

Nice thread (we need more of those in here), I always like to follow these things. Not a fan of Martingale, but people are always tempted to try it, because what can go wrong ? You just need stamina, infinite money and nerves of steel Grin I would think it works in (football) betting, but only if you start with very low stakes, very low. But then again you will win very low amounts as well and that is turning off people then again. You always want the big money, eh ? And it has to be safe of course.

Another risk is that sportsbooks can ban or limit your account if they notice known gambling patterns. You should also check if using known betting systems is legal and allowed according to your bookies TOS. I don’t know if bookie’s do that and how often.

I wouldn't worry with that. Since there is no working betting system (other than value), every bookie will happily allow you to play any system you wish on their site. And you shouldn't only use one or two bookmakers for such system anyway. Then you will also not run into the following issue:

You need to consider if the sportsbook you are using has a maximum betting limit for that particular league you have selected. Maybe your bookie allows no bets above $100 for these leagues or any other league you decide to try it on. In that case, you will run into problems if you need to double your bet from $100 to $200.

First of all, you should always shop for the best odds, having accounts/money in a lot of sites. This is especially important, if you are on a losing streak and your stakes must get higher and higher to compensate earlier losses - a 3.00 or 3.10 makes a huge difference here already. This will always lead you to the big (asian) bookies sooner or later, because they have the best odds and they also have the highest limits. With some agents tools (like Mollybet), you can place big bets with one click in multiple asian books. If that still isn't enough, you can go to Tier2 bookies and continue placing there with lower limits/lower odds.

I would probably track some more teams/leagues and don't jump in right away, but let them go on a streak of not drawing at home or winning away and then start the Martingale. Could save you some money or not let your stakes get very high too soon. But not sure Wink

The results for week 6:

Our swarm intelligence failed badly this week, there were 3 results which no one had and lots of high consensus picks went down the drain - 5.80 average. The SB overall leaderboard is not correct imo, maybe it will be enough for ralle14 and mitchr4 to share the 150mBTC with some other users. But my guess would be, that there is exactly one user with 10 correct picks, we have seen it before Roll Eyes

The stats for 2021:

ralle14 and mitchr4 can cheer about 50 fame points each and moving up the rankings. arallmuus, despite co-leading this table, has the worst average and was even hitting an all-time worst in the other table with only 3 correct picks this weekend. Inagame and leea-1334 also with new worst performances in the all-time stats hitting 3 and 4 this weekend respectively. Lots of other users landed just on their previously all-time worst performance (buwaytress, Indymoney, rdbase).

So a record-breaking weekend, but not in the direction we want Smiley

Here is some special with the participations of all users all-time:

See you next week Smiley
138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Discussion & Betting] Eurovision Song Contest 2021 on: February 14, 2021, 09:21:38 PM
~snip~

Thanks, added her to the list. The song is really crap imo and even the performance was nothing special (to not say boring); sometimes you wonder how crappy the other entries in the national selections must have been Grin The odds for Croatia have gone up accordingly.

North Macedonia and Moldova have revealed the name of their songs now, but I wasn't successful in actually finding them on Youtube, so I guess just the name was released. Which leads me to the question, where the point is in just releasing the name of a song. These artists are not some superstars, where the world is waiting impatiently for just the name of their song Roll Eyes

Some bookies now have odds and it feels like these are influenced a lot by last years odds with some artists coming back after 2020 edition was cancelled:

Source: https://sports.ladbrokes.com/event/tv-specials/international/eurovision-song-contest/2021-eurovision-song-contest/232206849/all-markets

Here you can find a screenshot of the odds in March last year. France is new among the favourites for now, the rest is more or less the same.

At this point you can really find super valuable odds, if you follow the national selections a bit, which is not always easy to do. But you can also be dead wrong, thats the risky part Grin
139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: February 13, 2021, 09:54:53 PM
8/15 games played and we have very mixed results:

@ralle14 is leading the pack and if the two leaders didn't have the draw in Brighton, he is among the leaders in the overall list as well. mitchr4, notblox1, efialtis and Ulven are in ok-ish shape as well and everyone has unique remaining picks. leea-1334 has some upsets picked for tomorrow and with 3 correct until now, there are slim hopes left.
There are 5 users, me included, who only have 1 pick correct so far, really bad Grin

See all the red ? Thats why bookies are rich Smiley

Good luck for tomorrows games for those who are still in contention.

Some highly decorated MM warriors are still missing, but here is what I have collected so far (public table):

Welcome to the MM family @slaman29 and @Ulven Smiley

Lots of draws were picked for this one and we have the rare occasion of no full consensus pick at all. Bologna, Celta de Vigo, Roma, Real Madrid come very close though with only one user each having another idea of the outcome. The draw in Bologna and 5 away wins are uncovered; I personally think Fiorentina and Betis could spoil the party Wink

Good luck, may the MM gods be with you Smiley

@dittoup
I wanted to tell you for a long time, that you always stay at the far right in the table, because it's easier to add columns that way for me. It's nothing personal against you, while the rest gets added in chronological order^^

Now I put only thumbnail here, is that preferable or does everybody want it full size?

It's fine like that Smiley
