121  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I get a full understanding on how to use Blockchain? on: June 16, 2018, 04:08:56 PM
I've been trying to wrap my head around how Blockchain is supposed to revolutionize the world apart from Bitcoin.

I'm not quite believing you Wink as I'm pretty sure that you can imagine some applications or areas where the use of blockchain would improve key functions. You just need to have a look at where transactions (in general) are used in our daily life and I don't just mean money based transaction, I'm mean people interacting in any shape or form.

It's a bit like the time before mobile phones or rather mobile communication. In the beginning, people would also say that they can imagine that much of a benefit if you're able to communicate mobile as there where landline phones. Now have a look at how things have changed and how society has adopted this form of communication.

So I think that you don't need a documentary that explains blockchain. You only need some imagination Cheesy

I also can't see why it could be wrong to launch an Alpha of a product before the ICO. Most projects don't have anything to show at this stage, they have fancy ideas and 50 pages long whitepapers. Some have an MVP or a click dummy and a ton of marketing materials. A working product is so rare in these days and really should be appreciated. I mean, everyone can make pretty powerpoint slides. Plus isn't the money from the ICO supposed to finance the development of a product? I'm really at a loss here and I don't get why the proof in form of an Alpha version of a product could be considered a bad thing  Huh

Namixi, don't copy paste posts of other people and present them as your own, you'll most likely get red trust if you continue with that.

I dont really understand how u gonna maintain the liquiduty? U will create the pool from the collected funds. But it will be only eth. So you gonna provide the liquidity only for ETH trading pair?? Huh

ETH can be traded. In order to utilize the funds resp. the liquidity pool, the STeX needs to either trade a large portion of the ETH into other currencies or have an arbitrage/trading chain/mechanism in place that does that on the spot. That depends on how the trading process is implemented. Maybe they can do an AMA and this question can be answered (if it can be disclosed).
Either way, you need not fear that the liquidity pool covers only ETH trades or trading pairs Smiley

That did indeed help, thanks a lot! Although I don't get how the tier system might work. I'll have a look.

Great! Reading the whitepaper always helps.
Although, I'm not sure whether there is an explicit description of the tier system. I'd guess that the exact tiers are tbd and that it all depends on KPIs and the distribution of A2A tokens.
Maybe @Ivan [STeX] can elaborate a bit on this.

Hi, I'd like to reserve the German translation.
However, I'd also like to clarify on the task. You mentioned the translations of "site content". So it's basically the website, right?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4469136.0

It's very detailed and I thought that you could add to it  Smiley

129  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: From Zero To Hero on: June 12, 2018, 10:15:06 PM
The best start is to join in bounties to earn some tokens then use it in trading. Then you can make a profit from it.

As long as you don't waste your time with bounties and/or airdrops. The knowledge alone that you can achieve here resp. in the crypto space could be way more worth in a few years than investing your time in some lousy bounties. Learn as much as you can.

here is the link

it is Kentra

please see below

Kindly bare in mind that your Airdrop submission will be considered invalid and you will not receive any tokens if you fail to complete the verification process before the deadline.

Best regards,

Kentra Support.

the warning message is being generated by Metamask as below.
is it a genuine warning message or something normal?

Well, I didn't research the project but I would not ignore the warning. Do you have any reason to doubt the project or the people behind it? Did you do your research?
I guess it's an airdrop you just entered? In that case, just skip this one. Better safe than sorry. Alternately you could ask in their telegram/discord chat and see how they respond.
131  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Guys another project x100 or scam? on: June 12, 2018, 05:31:52 PM
Maybe you're really right that the post is too long. It was difficult, to discuss the whole shape of my thoughts in two or three sentences.

Maybe structure it a bit better? It's hard to read as it's not really inviting Roll Eyes
Short questions, short answers. The post is too long and unstructured to read it "quickly" yet it is to short to convey the idea of the project properly, so if someone is interested, he has to follow the links anyway.

I'd guess you would've received an answer (or more answers) in your local forum if you had made your post a bit better. Your question surely is a valid one, unfortunately, I didn't follow Bob's Repair and only saw their marketing efforts once or twice, so I can't help you, sorry Smiley

There will be some reviews out there that already highlighted the key features of the project, those can be a good starting point in order to make an informed decision.
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still use MEW? on: June 12, 2018, 12:01:57 PM
Is this question still a thing or did something (new) happen with MEW? Isn't it as risky as ever - or rather as risky as using other online sites? Combining MEW with MetaMask, a hardware wallet and browser extensions like MetaCert makes it reasonably safe, I guess.
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ✅[ANN][ICO A2A tokens]✅STeX Exchange - ALL Coins, ONE PLATFORM: 10,000+ Crosses! on: June 12, 2018, 08:19:52 AM
Are there any more info about the upcoming services available that might be purchased with A2A, or did I misunderstand that?

A2A tokens are used as an intermediary in every trade on STeX using A2A technology. The utility function of the token provides a tier system for commission discounts. A2A tokens will give users an opportunity to reduce their trading fees by up to 50% through paying commissions with it.

The discount is based on the amount of the commissions paid to the system and the length of time the token is held in the account.

From every commission paid to STeX, 70% of A2A are sold on the open market at current prices and become STeX's income. The remaining 30% are immediately transferred to the smart-contract known as A2A SHOP to be sold from that contract at the all-time high price, 0.1% higher than the previous sale from the contract. You can compare it to the BNB token (Binance).

I hope that clarifies it a bit more Smiley

Will the exchange STeX tokens be similar to Kucoin and Binance? Will it be used to vote on the list of new currencies?

There will be 2 tokens, the STE and the A2A token.

STE and A2A are two tokens that compliment each other. They are different tokens for different purposes.
  • STE is a dividend token
  • A2A is a utility token (on the platform, like BNB)

So it's similar to KuCoin or Binance but with 2 tokens, which is neat as dividend tokens aren't usually listed elsewhere but utility tokens are.
With the A2A token, you'll get up to 50% discount on the platform.
136  Other / Meta / Re: Abuse of self-moderation by scammers on: June 10, 2018, 10:07:56 PM
Meh, it would be sort of censorship, and against everything this forum stands for; Free speech. The forum doesn't really moderate scams, and I don't think limiting a scammer of creating self moderated threads is fair. Creating a new thread, and referencing it us probably good enough in the majority of cases I think.

[...]

Plus they'd just use alternate accounts. That's what's happening already all the time. That would only make it harder to spot the scammer.

A self-moderated thread by someone who is suspicious or who just wants to create a bounty campaign is an instant red flag for me.
Usually, you don't need self-moderated threads unless you aim for a clean thread which is usually done when the topic is either complex or you have some specific posting "rules". There really is no reason to make a bounty thread or ANN self-moderated. If someone spams, report him, if it's viable critique, live with it and either reason with people or ignore them.
137  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Exchange listing fees on: June 10, 2018, 08:43:33 PM
Hi!

Do anyone have a full list of exchange fees they ask, to list your ico to exchange ?

I've seen somewhere hitbtc charge 20-40btc per pair.

I'd guess that most exchanges have different condition and that it mostly depends on your project and your negotiating skills. Projects that are promising will get better conditions but might have stricter requirements for a certain trading volume (during their first weeks/months).
Just have a look at KuCoin and the differewnt listing promotions (https://news.kucoin.com/en/category/announcements/). I highly doubt that the projects/teams choose themselves the amount or duration.

140  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reality of ICO rating/listing website. on: June 10, 2018, 05:42:01 PM
My suggestion that when you join ICO you can search their site but don't depend on their review. Research yourself about legit or not. Because you are going to invest there.

In general, I would agree but a huge problem here is, that many of those sites just copy. It's a bit like the news media nowadays, someone publishes something and it gets copied and copied without any verification by the one who copies/publishes it. So research really becomes difficult as the pool of sources gets diluted and it's hard to find the viable ones.
