121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Primecoin GPU Miner on: July 17, 2013, 10:48:20 AM
So basically you are holding an open casting call announcing yourself as a total douchebag who is only interested in keeping a possible GPU miner secret so you can hoard coin. Ok, seem like a pleasant fucktard. Now go away and mine whatever flavor of shitcoin dying GPU miners are mining this hour.

122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should MultiPool Continue Mining ARG on: July 17, 2013, 09:48:36 AM
i hold 0 ARG i hold more ltc and btc. but my opinion is based on the fact that its killing the coin, MultiPool is okay on coin's which its not going to kill. But ARG it is on the verge of killing which makes everyone except the people on Multipool loose out

So you want the Multipool miners to mine less profitable coins and reduce their earnings? Why would they willingly do this? If the supporters of ARG really cared about the coin and believed in it, they would put their money where their mouth is and pay Multipool the amount of BTC they would miss out on to not mine ARG. If they don't want to do this, they could always buy ARG on the exchanges to increase the price so that more miners will switch to ARG and the effect of Multipool would be decreased. However, not enough people actually believe in ARG so there aren't enough people willing to pay the costs of securing a blockchain. People have already decided to abandon ARG.

+1, it's a garbage coin, let it die.

Spoken like a bagholder of some other coin. How about we let your coins you support die? At least the ARG dev is actually in the process of developing some decent services some of which are unique and give the coin a real chance at helping it succeed. Thats better than alot of other coins which have virtually no services and exist only for pumping and dumping. Coins like that are not going to last and are just polluting the market.

I hope ARG is ok and support it going forward along with dgc. I'm even happy seeing other decent coins with solid development thrive too, it all helps the crypto community to become more widespread and a chance to be adopted by more mainstream folk.

Hopefully someone will come up with a way very soon to bring some of these coin raping pools like multipools.in into line. Sooner rather than later.

Actually, I'm not a bagholder of anything. The coins I support are strong enough to survive the flash miners, how about yours?

URGENT!!!!!

Has anyone else just seen a 25% drop in PPS?  I'm getting this on every single machine/VPS I have running.  Happened in the last 30 mins.  Perhaps due to the >8.0 diff increase?

Quote
~$ primecoind getdifficulty
8.02573842

Yes pps dropped even more than 25% on my rigs.
Yes down from 6143 to 4208

same drop here..

Same here, but I've gotten two blocks since the drop, which seems luckier.  I wonder how the difficulty gets calculated if not by PPS.  Because a network wide PPS drop you would expect a diff drop too. I derped, per Aggro's post below.

Edit: in another thought, the difference in diff rise between releases of hp1 and hp2 indicates clearly that hp2 is doing better.

I got three blocks since the release of hp2..  you think one of you guys could post a .conf you are using for hp3 in win7?  pleaase?

Welcome to cryptsy.com Primecoin miners and traders. We at cryptsy.com are very excited to support another Sunny King coin!

Yeah, so Cryptsy can murder it in cold blood.

Trying to have faith, that won't happen to this one!    although it sure seems like the graveyard for a couple or few coins...     I do like cryptsy though.. they have the more sane chat compared to btce!..

Mcxnow <3  as well though!!! Smiley

Now that's just naughty! Who's stealin 'dem blocks!  Shocked

I hope the block size becomes 0.000145 XPM by next week, so we've got a pre-manufactured scarcity on our hands just like BitBar--combine that with the new POF of this coin and resistance to GPU mining I think we've got a winner  Wink

Btw, how the F%^K do you mine 60K PPS? Server farm? I'm not even at 1K with 3 processors!

Stop whining about people so called 'stealing blocks'. They are not stolen, they are earned.

You can't really consider using amazon equipment for a lil cash, "earned".... like... AT ALL!   I wouldn't call it stealing either.. but it is an unfair advantage to the common folks with decent machines that want to mine for the greater good or to support a dev.. or to make some profit's.. but when it's a solo mine only coin.. that nobody can mine anymore.. because of a small group of people that found per hour access to cpu's.. sure great idea.. but so were asics..  look what that did to bitcoin... how many of you without asic's are mining for bitcoin?  none?

Has anyone found a block using a build with chemisist's source?

I mean unless we abuse amazon.. will we ever find a block again?  by the time the release their gpu miner's the block sizes will be .25   I do want the price back up where it was yesterday i know that much!
130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Primecoin Built-in Miner Sieve Performance Issue on: July 13, 2013, 02:08:50 AM
Found 20 total block Smiley    Been running true 4 and true 8 at night...  no block since the morning before yesterday Sad      Looks like that was the end of single cpu block finding?  LAME!   I'm still goin though.. see if i find anymore.. idc if i'm wasting electricity either..
131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Primecoin Built-in Miner Sieve Performance Issue on: July 13, 2013, 01:10:09 AM
should I try using more threads than 8?  seems my 3770k won't go higher than 1700pps.. which is nice considering when we started i was originally getting 400..   I can't seem to get the 2 or 3k other people are showing from their 3770k's     using the ivy only build.. on win7...   tried to compile on ubunut though my vm but it seems I fail or are using the wrong distro
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Primecoin Built-in Miner Sieve Performance Issue on: July 12, 2013, 10:12:42 PM
30 hours + mining ( not a single block mined ) I just started trying out Sunny's update: v0.1.1

On July 10, 2013 - I mined 5 blocks with 400 - 600 PPS .. note: I lost 4 orphans in that action, so it was technically 9 blocks mined, but 4 were lost, so 5 have been check marked. Anyways, the interesting thing is, I haven't touched a block. Anyone else getting the same results?

Find an optimized QT client here for your processor. I'm on an i3 3225 and I'm getting more than you since the first optimized QT I downloaded. Prior to that though (July 10th) I was getting 0 blocks mined and was probably the most unlucky person mining primecoin.

I have an I3 that has produced 6 blocks since start... the second pair of 3 were on the first mod client though and orphaned Sad         That was actually my gf's laptop.. she was pissed lol!  only 63 primes instead of 100
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Primecoin Built-in Miner Sieve Performance Issue on: July 12, 2013, 09:22:42 PM
My latest Windows builds. From Chemisist source:

Tuned for Sandy and Ivy Intel Core processors (AVX), O3:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/18bgecwqzsmwsh2/primecoin0712v2-avx.zip

Ivy Bridge ONLY build:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/f7fu0u0yk4i09il/primecoin0712v2-ivyonly.zip

XPM: AR2BpBnitqXudN67Ncuc9FfYVT8u9jNe7a

If i use your build alone.. i get the cannot find port error.. use listen=0....  but if I overwrite ur file on top of zalfrin's  it works and produces almost 2000pps  on "IB -3770k"  Smiley   hopefully no more orphans

134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Primecoin Built-in Miner Sieve Performance Issue on: July 12, 2013, 08:39:28 PM
Please note primespersecond is not an accurate measure of actual performance. It has some correlations but if sieve round is reduced too short you could see inflated pps but not really faster performance. Only block rate is an accurate measure of true performance.

Understood. Now we just need someone to build a CUDA implementation and release it to the public before some basement hacker gets one working and runs it for himself. The theoretical speed of CUDA Mersenne solving is something like 1000x faster then CPU. A single SLI Nvidia rig could throw 25 million PPS if optimized on CUDA.

AWWWW!!!   This is going to make me really regret trading my gtx660 for a 6950 +30$  Sad Sad Sad

isn't it.     ISN'T IT!!!!....  ISN'T IT!?!!!.....  ISN'T IT?!!!

135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Primecoin Built-in Miner Sieve Performance Issue on: July 12, 2013, 08:34:22 PM
k well either way.. for the noobs... if you install sunny's new client..

don't use this https://www.dropbox.com/s/f7fu0u0yk4i09il/primecoin0712v2-ivyonly.zip

it is making the wallet hang on splash screen..

I just copied the files into the wallet folder.. no worky

EDIT.  deleted sunny's newest qt folder...    (strange seeing how he's the real bad ass here and all!!!)

but am using anonppcoin's v0710 again.. replaced those files with the ivyonly build.. and well.. hellz yea!   1600pps @ true 4?  haha before i was getting 600 @ true 4

and um.. guy's WAS there a fork? or was that a bork in one of the modded wallet files?  because I too have only found 4 blocks in the past 48hrs.. and 3 of them orphaned... saw you other guy's having that issue

And Prop's to all you dev's working on project's like this!  Sunny king <3   The people optimizing..  I have had an obsession with opensource software for yrs.. but never really got into any kind of coding.. this whole community really makes me want to devote every minute of my life into learning some form of language..   Qt in itself being a mixture of languages you can implement.. c++. java, html, and the 2 others i can't remember.. seems like it would be impossible to learn qt without knowing the 5 languages it consists of... where should I start.. trying to learn at this point.. standard c?  but wouldn't that be like trying to learn a dead language? or is C++ something you could never learn without knowing C..   anyway done blabbing.. looking forward to being able to gpu mine this for a couple days..  with 2 6950's i don't it see it making me rich.. but damnit a few btc's on top of my current like .8 would be awesome..  yea yea ik ik poor noob !!!!  Smiley

for my 3770k should i use this?
https://www.dropbox.com/s/f7fu0u0yk4i09il/primecoin0712v2-ivyonly.zip

or sunny's recent update?   getting about 1k to 1300 pps..     tired of not finding blocks though.. 18 total since the release date.. but in the past 48 hrs nothing but 5 orphans

Domain needs to be mine!!!!!      Douche bag probably is baptist though Sad

I would love that. What would you do with it?

Make up a bunch of nonsense about proof that Bitcoin is the mark of the beast then plaster it with adsense ads and get rich off bible thumpers?  For a bonus helping of irony use your adsense checks to buy more Bitcoins.

No. No. and NO!    I'd rather be poor laying in a ditch before I ever tried to associate with the thumpers..   Nor would I ever say anything about bitcoin being the mark of the beast!  In the world of currencies bitcoin is a god!   The almighty US $ is the devil.. and not the metalheaded anti jesus devil that i like.. it's more like the redneck at the store that won't shut up about how his dog ate his meth!

if you're only setting a couple hundred pps mining isn't worth it. Difficulty has shot up in the last day

Because Primecoin will never be worth more than it is today... ever...

You must know a lot about these markets then don't you.  hahaha

Here is one more build, it's probably extraneous with the two I've already provided, but if anyone wants to try it out they can. Again built from official codebase. This one is optimized for the core i7-avx.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/b3a5d3k6xt0ezvx/release13_corei7-avx.zip

You think this might be better than anonppcoin's version.. on my 3770k?
