121  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Fair Tax Idea for Bitcoin and other Crypto's on: December 21, 2014, 11:52:49 AM
Just like on an exchange. when you pay a fee to trade. You can pay a fee to cash out to fiat. No more than  1 or 2% State and Federal.

This way it will be much less confusing and reasonable. More will comply with the tax.

And if it goes against you and money is lost. The government won't refund money due to a bad investor claiming a loss.

We know this will never happen due to the fact that anyone in government is a sold out whore. or to stupid to come up with a golden idea like this.
Well some people might never withdraw then, and could simply just keep transferring bitcoins and using it as normal money.

In which case they would then likely be paying sales tax. Just as you would with the fiat.

Whatever the last price the crypto was traded at determines the price of each crypto currency.

Thanks for everybody who donated.

I will continue experimenting, to find out what stylistic elements (and memes) go well with quark.
(I think certainly science fiction and space in general will go well with quark)

If anyone has serious suggestions and feedback, I welcome it.

How about simple robot face for the logo. When I first saw Quark I thought it was a robot face. The 3 circles look like eyes and mouth.
127  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory Wallet Intro Message - Scares me on: August 04, 2014, 02:23:48 AM
You're using Armory for free right? So why would the developers want to risk getting sued if something goes wrong with the program or possibly the incompetence of the user? Just a disclaimer for protection. It doesn't mean the program is any riskier than any other.
128  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Upgrading from 0.88.1 win64 on: June 08, 2014, 02:54:00 AM
OK. Thanks. I've got both a digital and paper back up. So I'll try to install over my existing installation.
129  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Upgrading from 0.88.1 win64 on: June 08, 2014, 12:05:32 AM
I have a watch only wallet on it that I'm concerned with. Also a quick spend wallet I never use.

Anyone smart enough to know? or is it a crap shoot?  Tongue   Cheesy
130  Bitcoin / Armory / Upgrading from 0.88.1 win64 on: June 07, 2014, 06:15:08 PM
As long as my old Armory program is turned off.  I can just install the newest version of Armory and it will work without a hassle? It will install flawlessly over the old version?  Smiley

Without uninstalling the old version?

Or do I have to uninstall the old version and import the old wallet?
131  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Anyone else have their withdrawals stuck with BTER? on: May 26, 2014, 12:45:48 AM
This is normal for them. One of my withdrawals got hung up. Took a day or so. Don't remember what I did exactly. Maybe I translated to Chinese on the ticket.

Just don't send any more coins up there until you can withdrawal.
132  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase Reviews on: May 06, 2014, 06:17:10 AM
I searched the ten most recent pages and no talk of Coinbase.

Any opinions? Absurdly low fee of 1%.

By far the best way to buy Bitcoin that I've tried. Most convenient, least expensive.
133  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Calculations? on: April 22, 2014, 11:59:19 PM
You won't get much. If 0.007 is expected then expect 0.006 or less after fees. Welcome to bitcoin and don't let the door hit your ass on the way in.

That's why you shop around for the best rates and service.
134  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Calculations? on: April 22, 2014, 11:46:44 PM
Today at this hour 1 Bitcoin = $488.68

How much does 5.88 Bitcoins cost? Answer 5.88 times 488.68 =  $2873.44

How much does .00578 Bitcoins cost? Answer .00578 times 488.68 =  $2.82

How many Bitcoins can I get for $6874.11 ?  Answer 6874.11 divided by 488.68 =   14.07 Bitcoins

How many bitcoins can I get for $3.78 ?  Answer 3.78 divided by 488.68 =  .007735 Bitcoins or 7.7735 mB.
135  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Calculations? on: April 22, 2014, 06:31:48 AM
4 example, I don't understand all of this 0.01, 0.0123, etc...0r will I learn on my own just by selling my BTCitcoins & seeing how much is gained/lost?
I hope this doesn't sound too confusing Huh

I suggest taking a basic mathematics course to understand the concept of decimals.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decimal

You may also see people refer to particular fractions of bitcoins such as milli-bitcoins (mBTC), micro-bitcoins (µBTC), or nano-bitcoins (nBTC).  To better understand these denominations, I suggest reading a bit about the metric system.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Introduction_to_the_metric_system#Prefixes

0.1 BTC means one tenth of a bitcoin.
0.01 BTC means one hundredth of a bitcoin.
0.001 BTC means one thousandth of a bitcoin (also called a milli-bitcoin)
0.0001 BTC means one ten-thousandth of a bitcoin.
0.00001 BTC means one hundred-thousandth of a bitcoin.
0.000001 BTC means one millionth of a bitcoin (also called a micro-bitcoin)
0.0000001 BTC means one ten-millionth of a bitcoin
0.00000001 BTC means one hundred-millionth of a bitcoin (also called a satoshi).

It works the same way in the other direction.

10 BTC means ten bitcoins.
100 BTC means one hundred bitcoins.
1000 BTC means one thousand bitcoins.
10000 BTC means ten thousand bitcoins.
100000 BTC means one hundred thousand bitcoins.
1000000 BTC means one million bitcoins.
10000000 BTC means ten million bitcoins.

It works with satoshis as well.

1 satoshi means one satoshi (also called 0.01 micro-bitcoins, or 0.00001 milli-bitcoins)
10 satoshi means ten satoshi (also called 0.1 micro-bitcoin, or 0.0001 milli-bitcoins)
100 satoshi means one hundred satoshi (also called a micro-bitcoin, or 0.001 milli-bitcoins)
1000 satoshi means one thousand satoshi (also called 10 micro-bitcoin, or 0.01 milli-bitcoins)
10000 satoshi means ten thousand satoshi (also called 100 micro-bitcoins, or 0.1 milli-bitcoins)
100000 satoshi means one hundred thousand satoshi (also called 1000 micro-bitcoins, or 1 milli-bitcoin)
1000000 satoshi means one million satoshi (also called 10000 micro-bitcoins, or 10 milli-bitcoins)
10000000 satoshi means ten million satoshi (also called 100000 micro-bitcoins, or 100 milli-bitcoins)
100000000 satoshi means one hundred thousand satoshi (also called 1000000 micro-bitcoins, or 1000 milli-bitcoins, or 1 BTC)

0k but how much would it be in say, US dollars is what I want to figure out.  0.1(0ne-tenth of a Bitcoin) = 0.01(cents);(U.S.) and so forth...And I do understand decimals smart ass!

This is probably what your asking for.

136  Economy / Service Discussion / To avoid getting goxed follow some of my commandments on: April 17, 2014, 11:01:58 PM
Thou shalt not leave more coins or fiat up on an exchange than thou is willing to lose.

After completing  trades, thou shalt remove all coins from the exchange.

If the coins cannot be withdrawn thou shalt not send any more coins up to the exchange. Until at which time said coins can be withdrawn.  The problem thou is having will be shared on forums all over the web until at which time the coins are returned.

If an exchange offers thou a lower than normal price for buying  coins that  cannot be withdrawn at this time. Turn your back and run. Lest  thou  be turned into a pillar of salt and lose more than thou already has.

If an offer of  interest is made on coins held on an exchange. Remove all coins immediately. They are either insolvent or are trying to get as many coins as possible before they claim a hack. Deceiving thou and others and are planning to pillage as much wealth as possible.

137  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How many BTC do you have frozen in [Vircurex]? Have they been unfrozen yet? on: April 17, 2014, 10:58:39 PM
Follow a few of my commandments you will never be Goxed off again.

Thou shalt not leave more coins or fiat up on an exchange than thou is willing to lose.

If the coins cannot be removed thou shalt not send any more coins up to the exchange. The problem thou is having will be shared on forums all over the web until at which time the coins are returned.

If the serpent holding said coins offers thou a higher than normal price for just buying yet more coins that also cannot be removed. Turn your back and run from the serpent. Lest  thou  be turned into a pillar of salt.

If an offer is made for interest on coins held on an exchange. Remove all coins as fast as possible as the Fallen Angle is deceiving thou and others and is planning to pillage as much wealth as possible.

139  Economy / Service Discussion / Bter withdrawl delay on: April 12, 2014, 01:54:53 AM
Trying to withdrawl Quarks from BTER. I use BTC to trade and then withdrawl %100 of my coins.  I don't trust anyone (for good reason). Looks like another gaggle of crooks.   Roll Eyes

After hours the withdrawl is still Processing? WTF? Is this normal?

Every second I wait BTER gets bad press on this thread and others.
140  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How many LTC do you have frozen in [Vircurex]? Have they been unfrozen yet? on: March 27, 2014, 06:27:02 AM
How many more example of people losing coins by keeping them on an exchange do we need before people wise up?

I get it, newbs will always fall for this unless forewarned. But this is retarded. Obviously anyone who did their research would know that Vircurex was insolvent about a year ago after a supposed "hack" where they lost a lot coins.

My ltc was for sale that is why the hell it was on an exchange. How else you going to trade? 76 ltc btw.

If you have them up there temporarily to do a trade or two, that's just bad luck. Leaving them up there for months or more thinking it's The Rock of Gibraltar is what were talking about.

I learned from Bitfloor. When done trading send all crypto's back to your storage pc. I didn't leave one nickel up on Vircurex after the trading was done within a few days.
